OK, so I did an network reset, it didn't help. Then I gave a battery a few days to "get used to" - nothing happened. I did a factory reset yesterday, wi fi drain is still on board... I have a stock firmware, what can I do to make my Marshmallow work properly?
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk
You have disabled location scanning in location services? Disabled Network Notification in wifi?
Also, I hear using 2.4ghz may help. It's strange that some people have this issue and others don't.

There is already a thread with the name "android 6.0 performance/issues".
Move to that.
The battery stats for wifi I think are wrong because it shows a high wifi drain while actually it isn't.

I've seen other people having issues with wifi but haven't read of anyone finding a fix. I'm watching the on/off switch go back and forth as my G2 continues to try and establish a connection. It connects to my router for a second, then disconnects...This has been keeping up all day.
Any suggestions?
Already reset my router. Tried to WPS push button method.

Did that. Nothing. Also tried to connect to the public wifi at work, same problem.
turn off battery saving stuff like switch off wifi when not using
Has anyone have a solution to this?
My G2 did the same thing as the OP says. It will turn itself on and off (about 5 second between each on and offs) but ONLY if the bluetooth is turned OFF. If the bluetooth is ON, no problem whatsoever. I usually left my bluetooth ON because I have a bluetooth headset and I want it to be ready every-time I want to use them. But, this night, when I turn off the bluetooth, the wifi keeps going on and off, and yes, battery drained and no internet connection for me
Please help if anyone have a solution for this. I'm in stock rom (D802) 4.4.2 rooted, with xdabbeb's camera mod, the only "root" apps that I've installed so far. Reboot and full power off is the first thing that I do, still no cure.

Sorry for replying to an old post, but I have exactly the same problem here, only difference is that in my case, charging stoped at 66%. I changed the battery, the charging issue fixed but still have the wifi/bt issue.
I flashed stock kk rom, and 3 custom roms with kk, lp and mm base, nothing..
Thx for any help.
Edit : my phone is a D800
WiFi issue is still there

I am also tried these method's but WiFi issue is still there battery saver changed, WiFi setting changed but still WiFi turning off automatically after a minute or 5 minutes... Do you guys have idea about what to do? Another forum of assignmentbox describe me about WPA2 PSK but i dont know how to change that.. anyone know that????
My wifi was working very well. One day suddenly it went off. Initially I thought it was a connection problem, but eventually I discovered that the wifi toggle switch refused to start. It was stuck.
I did not upgrade or change anything (Currently running stock android 4.3.) In a bid to correct it I even did a factory reset. But wifi issue remained.
Did everything mentioned in various YouTube videos. But in vain.
The only way I can turn it on is by switching off the phone, removing the battery 4 a minute and restart. Wifi worked but to 5 to 10 min only.
Removing battery every time 2 start wifi is nuisance.
Pl advice.

I would advice you to do the following
=>Disable all power saver settings
=>Remove any battery saving App
If it doesn't work try
=>Installing the newest Official Firmware from Samsung(4.4),Download it from the sam mobile site
If that doesn't work well then i cant help you anymore
Hope that helps and hit the thanks if i helped
Dear Sammy,
I did exactly the same. Installed the 4.4.2 but a new problem has emerged. Wifi shows connected. I can also see the white wifi icon on status bar. But in fact is not connected. Can't open anything. Not even router configuration ip address.
To make sure it was not a modem/ router issue, I checked d connection on another phone. It was working perfectly.
Here too I tried switching off for couple of minutes but on start it just shows connected when it is actually not. (Confirmed several times on other phone)
Plz help.

Try doing a factory reset
That will erase your internal storage, back it up.

@JustPlayingHard I have similar problem.
Got new phone last week, flased manually August OTA and now at night I get 20% discharge in 6h, see attachments.
Don't understand what's going on: shall I hard reset as well?

Do a factory reset, back up any important data and look for rogue apps.
EDIT: Disable WiFi when you're are not connect to an AP. That seems to be the issue.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
But at night I am connected with my AP.
Have exact same settings and apps as my previous S6 Edge+ and that one had no such problem.
Thing is without root I am not able to further investigate.
I have no local data so no need to back up: will do a factory reset and restore from Google backup.

Did you turn off location scanning?
Disable location scanning
1. Go to Settings - Location
2. Click on three dot menu, select 'Scanning'.
3. Turn off both Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning
Disable Location History (in case u don't use it)
1. Go to Settings - Location - Google Location History
2. Turn off the one under 'This device'
Location scanning is already off, history is on but was on also on S6 without problems.
Actually if you have a look at screenshots to me it seems that phone is indeed in doze for 6h or not?
Talked to some other guys with the latest MM on stock no root, same problems. Android OS is eating heaps of battery other than screen.
I've got poor signal strength at my work place, thats causing my poor battery life too right? But then a couple of wake locks too.

Mobile signal is a big cause of battery drain sadly
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Mobile Signal affect the battery significant, for me my telco at certain area has really poor quality (why i said quality is because the signal has full bar, but the data could not even load), then the phone modem will goes warm as all apps keep on trying to connect cause the signal indicator is full.
The best way to found out is before u sleep, you put your device on airplane mode, then turn on and connect to WIFI, and check the battery left in the morning. Mostly Phone idle and Cell standby in the battery stat is caused by the cell signal.

If somehow you decided to root your device, consider to download NapTime as it force your device to goes Doze asap when your device screen off. Remember to tick the disable motion detection if you had ambient display activated.
When does Google usually release OTAs? It's an annoying bug with android OS when you don't know what's sucking your battery down.

2-2.5hrs SOT SM-G935FD.
A month old. Problem started 2 weeks ago.
Have uninstalled all bloatware through ez disabler,
WiFi off everywhere in settings,
location history off and Google disabled,
wiped cache,
using greenify for aggressive doze,
Nothing worked so far
Need help
Warlocks such as ssp wake lock, ssp sensorhub, 13960000.decon, power manager service display, and power manager service wake lock are each getting about 4hrs worth of wake lock minimum
I'm guessing you disabled something that another app is relying on, and is now forever cycling on calling on that app repeatedly. First thing I'd do is restore everything back and see what happens.

Well I can't possibly think of anything, but my phone never seems to rest. Even when it's sitting in my pocket it gets hot and drains

Another thing is that even in Safe mode the problem persists.
Safe mode doesn't reenable the stuff you disabled. As I said, enable everything back and restart. See if the problem goes away. That means you disabled something you shouldn't have.
Please tell me you know exactly what each thing you disabled was and you know what dependencies they have. Anything you don't have those answers for, you have no business disabling.

Alright, I'm doing a factory reset tomorrow and I'll get back with the results. Not too optimistic.
Can that be the sole cause? Or can there be some problemd with the firmware or system apps?

Can't say unless we know what exactly you disabled (need a whole list) . We need to rule that one out first because the phones isn't running the same services as what is expected of stock. Then finding out what's causing the wakelock to see which one needs to be reenabled.
Well a factory reset is the fastest way. The incremental reenabling is slower but you won't need to redownload everything.

I have re-enabled everything from EZ disabler but no difference has been made. I'll do the factory reset soon.
I was hoping Nougat would fix it, but I can't wait that long
I mean, I'm seeing my Wi-Fi disconnecting and reconnecting seconds later probably every ten minutes or so. It's getting infuriating. It's not my home network, either, as none of my other devices are experiencing this issue. Even still, just to be sure, I've tried multiple reboots of my router, to no avail. Anyone else having similar WiFi issues?
I been having the same problem with wifi. It will be fine for a while and then randomly disconnects and reconnects. Im not sure what do do about it. Other than that, i have had problems with quick connect...cant connect to my tv anymore
Same

my wifes s7 edge does this but shes actually still on MM
I had the same issue. I performed a factory reset then used Smart Switch to re-install everything with the exception of apps. I had to manually select and install them (this was recommended from another post to avoid battery drain) and no issues again with Wi-Fi auto disconnect
I'm on AT&T and I have WiFi disconnects frequently. When the phone sleeps it always happens... And yea, I have the always on enabled.
.. Really annoying

Turning it off on mine fixed the issue. You may need a factory reset
