MMS notification - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using handcent with light manager and am unable to get notifications when I receive a MMS text.. Regular texts work just fine.. Any ideas?
Thank you
Kyle

I'm sure you did this but there are separate notifications in light manager. One for SMS and one for MMS. Did you activate a set color for MMS? It works fine for me with stock message app.

Maybe email the dev and attach a log..

I did that and they ended up making me a beta version which fixed the issue.

Always makes me really happy when I write a developer about an app I'm having trouble with and they respond quick and fix the issue. That's a good dev. Wish everyone was like that. Unfortunately they aren't all but I sure like when it does happy. Glad you got it resolved. ?

what about just sending MMS? My friend couldn't see it cause it said it was too large... is it not auto resizing the pictures?
When I receive or send MMS they show up as slideshows. Not a straight up image anymore, which makes it smaller. Anyone know how to fix this?
Also how do yo save the pictures that are recieved.

I have the same issue with a single picture being sent to me and the phones displays it as a slide show and there is now way that I see how to save that picture to my gallery. Is there a way to do this?

GoSMS Pro works nicely. My only complaint is that I don't like the icon much. Certainly doesn't fit nicely with ICS

Please refer to my screenshot above. I'm still not getting it.
Those advanced settings are part of CyanogenMod which then show up in other ports of that ROM
When you scroll down more? There should be a section about call settings to make sure call waiting is on.
Dunno, my phone makes the normal "beep" sound when I have call waiting so either something you have disabled it or something else is screwed up. If nothing works soon then i'd say do a FULL format and reinstall 4.2.2 from the Google factory image and see how that goes.

[Q] Emojis on MJ7

Hi, guys! I know that probably most of you don't care about the emojis but I found that there are a few of them missing and I wondered if anyone of you knows if you can input them with the stock keyboard.. Here are some screenshots:
These are the ones the Samsung keyboard has:
These are the missing ones:
I think they are the same one but samsung decided to use different icons for them.
i noticed when i use them in message they come up as mms does that mean they cost to send them

I meant that I can't input the ones from the second picture using the stock keyboard :silly:
Okay, Hangouts was updated with the SMS feature. We can sent emoji using SMS through it and it won't convert it to MMS.
While the Stock samsung's messaging app converts it to MMS as soon as emoji is input.

LightFlow discussion

I remember recently that there was an alternative to LightFlow being featured somewhere (forget if it was XDA or Reddit or somewhere else).
Does anyone remember it? I believe it was a bit more lightweight than LF.
EDIT: Decided to make this the general Nexus 5 LightFlow thread since that's what it pretty much became.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I could find and try this one only.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager
But eventually I moved back to light flow because it works better for me in KitKat.
I prefer light flow. I like being able to set it to dismiss the light as soon as I turn my screen on. Quickest way to get the light to stop blinking.

I've also just pushed out an update to lightflow specifically to address lots of issues and workarounds for the nexus 5.

I know that 4.3 brought in persistent notifications like with apps like LF. Still no work around with hiding it?

Thanks for the update! Still not seeing notification light for Hangouts - specifically for SMS. Anyone else experience this?

Mine works fine.
I'm also using Hangouts but I didnt set any Hangout notifications, instead just used the SMS Apps one and the LED light works fine.

Uncheck the foreground option in settings. I always uncheck that and I've never seen any difference, except the persistent notification goes away.

How about getting the led to be always on?
I've always liked it better than pulsing, and set it up like that in the Galaxy Nexus, but can't get it to work on the N5 yet.
is it worth having root mode on as well ?

I see the very first app i ever purchased on the android market for my old N1 is still getting updates (sept 2013).... TrackBall Alert Pro... also Trackball Alert..
updates say it will work with any trackball (hah i miss that thing) and RGB LED.. from what i remember it was a pretty minimal app that let you choose colours/flash rate/etc...

There's an option in each notification under the "light" tab for "LED flash rate" for "always on / very slow pulse". I have it that way for when my phone is charging.

Yes, but in the N5 "always on" doesn't seem to work.

It works on mine for charging indication. What kind of app are you trying to get it to work on?
Edit: I tested in on gmail, and you are correct sir. It doesn't work.
