Anyone experiencing this? Its a bit random as it doesnt always happen but the speeds are worse than dial up when it does, horrendous. Happens on wifi and LTE. Everything else speed wise is fine, just the Store. Force stopped, cleared data and cache, rebooted....its like I went back to the 1999.
Looks like people with 6Ps have been complaining about the same thing with no solutions. Maybe XDA can come to the rescue.
Yes it seems to happen frequently with me while the Motorola 6 has no issues.

Makes me wonder if its a Marshmallow issue.
Happens to me also. Weird stuff
And right now it's fine.
Happened to me on my LP Galaxy S6 Edge, Nexus 6 and 6P, wife's Nexus 5X, OPO, OPT and OPX, leading me to believe it may be something screwey server wise at Google...
I've been having issues with many Google services for a number of weeks. Play store and music are the main ones, but chrome (x64), Gmail and docs are all laggy and often disconnecting. This happens on my 6p, xt1092, work win7 machine and home win10 laptop. Doesn't matter which network. The only one that seems unaffected is my Dell Chromebook. I too reckon it's server side rather than android or MM.
I noticed that too. Happens randomly from times to times. Sometimes I have to cancel a download or an app update and restart it then it goes away.

Ok so I was originally going to try the nexus 4 but of course missed out. I ended up with the htc one x+ and nice device but definitely has wifi issues like when screen turns off it loses connection 90% of the time for alot of users not just me. Also signal is spotty around the house. Bluetooth audio in my car sounds pretty bad.
My question is does the nexus 4 have any of these issues, or similar? I'm about to order it if not.
For me it doesn't have the problems your talking about.. But it sounds like I was one of the lucky ones out of the bunch that came in..

Don't have a single issue with my N4.

My cell signal is noticeably worse and I've seen others complain about poor wifi reception and poor bluetooth support. Use search, there are plenty of issues with the N4 it is just a matter of how bad they will affect you, for me the wifi reception has been fine and I don't use bluetooth audio.
I am on my 3rd One X because of the wifi issues, when you can get it to connect well it stays connected even when you leave that hotspot (keeping you from getting any notifications). Sometimes when I go into a Starbucks it grabs on to their wifi and will not let go unless I turn wifi off.
I honestly mostly use my Galaxy Nexus still (and have a Nexus 4 on the way to replace that) because I so much prefer stock android. The One X with Sense does some things that drive me NUTS like the wifi and the horrible multi tasking. An example of the multitasking agony is if you are on a web site and you get a text message your web site goes away most of the time when you go to return that text and it has to reload when you go back to it. What a pain. I really wish HTC would get over SENSE, it was nice when phone OS's sucked (I am looking at you windows mobile) but now it is just so unnecessary.
The One X is gorgeous, the LTE is incredible when you have it available and the camera is superb. I use it when I am going out somewhere and want to take pictures, or if I will be somewhere where I am mostly on laptop and not really needing the phone that much. I also use it for tethering (via PDAnet) when I am in a strong LTE area, the LTE on AT&T is soooooo much faster than crappy Hotel "high speed" internet. I know you can root the OneX now and get cyanogen mod but I have been down that road before and just ended up making everything look like stock android. It is worth keeping around if you are going to have two phones, but if given the choice between the One X and the N4 I would lean heavily to the N4.
Nexus 4 any day, has a better gpu , vannila android 4.2

I was referring to the one x+ not the one x, but I believe the one x+ has similar issues I'm experiencing.
I had an HTC Sensation that accumulated dust under the screen. That was the last HTC phone i will ever own.

Btw battery is not very good
Nexus 4 is an awesome phone, but HTC One X and One X+ are also awesome.
Nexus 4 is faster and smoother than the HTC one X and One X+ but the music quality from speaker and headphones is a crap load better on the One X and One X+. So much so it is embarrasing.
The Nexus 4 has issues with wifi when the screen is off. Notifications stop coming through for email. This issue does not occur on 3G.
Check for wifi issues thread. This issue is on an official google bug report and affects Nexus 4, 7 and 10.
I currently have the Nexus 5 and am pretty fed up with trying to use it for navigation. I believe the last time it worked decent was with Kit Kat. After loading LP that all changed. Thankfully Google finally acknowledged the issue in their bug tracker which has been open for quite a long time. If I do intend on using the GPS on the 5, I have to leave it on my dashboard. If I pick up the phone to do anything with it, it immediately loses GPS reception. Also while running GPS simultaneously while listening to Google Music (music stored locally, not streaming), the phone gets extremely hot and sluggish and also even while on a charger (2A output) seems to lose battery percentage.
I have since loaded Marshmallow on my 5 and it definitely more responsive but obviously Google hasn't resolved the GPS issue and it still seems to drain the battery while on charger and using GPS and music.
I have tried doing factory resets, etc but it hasn't resolved the draining issue or of course the GPS issue.
I've decided to hold off on buying either the 5X or 6P simply because I've been burned just about every time I've bought a Nexus phone on launch day. My first nexus was the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and we all know how much of a POS that was. Mainly a quiet speaker, horrible screen, horrible battery life mainly due to how badly tuned it was on LTE, sluggish. The Nexus 5 was plagued with a crappy speaker (AGAIN), and after time wireless charging wouldn't work properly due to the contacts within the phone become oxidized or corroded from arcing.
I've heard the 5X has a pretty lousy speaker as well so mainly because of that alone I was already leaning toward the 6P.
I'm hoping to hear from early adopters if there's any unforeseen issues with displays, GPS, signal/antenna, speaker, etc.
I'd also love to know this, my g2 has pretty bad GPS, and all reviews are stuck on camera, no one talks about GPS or call quality, mkbhd said the speakers are really good, so I think call quality should be great, please guys some comments on GPS, how fast does it lock?
How much does it drain the battery?
I've had it for about a day now, GPS lock has been great for me. i also had no issue on the Nexus 6 too, so idk, i am in England with lots of open spaces, so that probably helps
Yeah, my nexus 5 is really bad. Gps losses lock like every 15-20 seconds and has to regain. Causes the screen to be all jerky. I doubt google ever fixes it.
I hope my 6p is as good as my n5!
Never had any issues with gps - usually locks within 20 seconds, and holds it.
Following the offical Google Bug Issue Tracker for MM may be useful. Relate to GPS MM fixes the Mobile Radio Active bug.
the guy that posted the "i have the 64gb 6p" did some tests and the sat lock was impressive. one of the best in smartphones.

I'm having exactly the same problem with my Nexus 5 too! And it's very slow to locking, showing a giant blue circle covering almost the whole city on Google Maps.
No issues with locking so far on day 2. I used Waze, Google Maps, indoors, outdoors, etc.
I couldn't stand my LG G2 because of the horrific GPS, I am a firm believer its an LG issue since it also seems to have effected the N5.
GPS tech is much better now. I've never had an issue on my Nexus or MotoX 2013. My Nexus 5 was spotty but I think that's more an LG hardware thing than an Android issue

where is the gps antenna on nexus 6p? like exactly where. i opened mine ip and now it wont work. afraid i might have broke it.
I'm upgrading from a Nexus6 to a Nexus 6P.
So I don't have any other phones to test this on.
But I tried to android Beam a webpage from Nexus6 to Nexus 6P, and it didn't even seen like an attempt was made...
If you click share in the browser settings and choose android Beam, the webpage pans out like as if it will Beam. But when you tap the two phones together... Nothing happens...
Is this a bug with Android 6.0????
How can I get android Beam to work on my Nexus 6P??
I was having a similar problem. I seems like the nfc in the Nexus 6P is somewhere near the top of the phone (probably in the glass strip?). Try place the 6P a little lower compared to your other phone.
Just to make sure the NFC chip in my Nexus6P wasn't broken or it wasn't an O.S. glitch. I shared a picture on my Nexus6P to another Nexus5X my friend had... using Android Beam... and the picture transferred just fine the usual tap-to-share method...
sharing the same picture from N6P to N6, and nothing......
If anyone else has both a Nexus 6P and Nexus6, please do try this and let me know if it works or if it fails for you?
it would be a major bummer if i can never again tap-to-share with others who are using last year's nexus phone
I ran into the same problem. I tried multiple times and never could get them to transfer. I gave up. I got the little tone that the devices saw each other, and beam would initiate, but it failed every single time between my 6 and 6P.
So do y'all think this is an isolated issue/glitch? or do you think that this affects ALL Nexus 6P phones in existence?
tested by beaming a webpage from Moto X (2014--UK) to N6P. Worked perfectly first time.

Same problem here with my 6 and 6P.
EDIT: It works now! For some reason NFC got turned off in the 6P's settings again, even though I enabled it when I first powered it on. Might be a bug.
Bringing up an old thread.
I'm trying to beam a pic from my 6p to my 2013 Moto x. It recognizes each other, attempts to make the beam, but nothing ends up being beamed. However, I can beam pics from the Moto x to the 6p without a problem. I can also beam a webpage from the 6p to the Moto x without a problem

Just did some testing of my own and had similar results. Web page gets send without an issue. Image gets an error.
Did you try Wifi Direct? Instead of NFC
I believe my Moto x doesn't have WiFi direct. Either way, I'm looking for a solution to the problem, as opposed to a work around. This may be a problem between multiple phone models, after all

I'm having the same issue with this. Did anyone come up with a solution?
Just tried from my Nexus 6P to Nexus 5. Can't get any transfer to initiate. Even when I try to manually, neither phone recognizes the other. I will have to try to see if anyone else has a phone I can test on.
I was having problems transfering files with beam to my nexus 6p from nexus 5. I found out that nexus 6p has the NFC sensor next to the camera, and the nexus 5 on the back of the logo. So if you put them back to back It's not going to work. Not sure where the nexus 6 has the sensor but try to bring it up by the camera of the nexus 6p.
Mine kept failing too. Bluetooth transfer works though.
Found the solution
I know I'm late to the party but I figure it out. you have to hold the phones perpendicular to each other. Try tapping the glass strip of the 6P to where it says Nexus on the back of the 6. That works for me
Has anyone else had this issue? I got an OTA last night around midnight, and it has rebooted itself in the middle of use twice today.
Nope
Any idea of what the OTA actually installed?
I have no clue
I'm having the same issue. Phone has rebooted 3 times today.
What version did the OTA bring your phone up to? PB4??

I had sync.me installed as a way to get profile pics in contacts. I uninstalled it yesterday and it hasn't rebooted since. Seemed like it was over working the phone. Carbonad, do you have sync.me?
My Note 5 and S7 Edge reboot itself at least once a day minimum. My Note 5 reboots more than the S7 Edge, though. Also, my S7 Edge likes to vibrate when there's no notifications, button presses, or even screen touches - along with the screen turning on whenever it wants to. Yet the battery still lasts forever. I also get false touches quite a bit (mentioned in another thread by another user).
Samsung FTW. Still not as many problems as I hear all of my family and friends complaining about with their beloved iPhone. But my Samsung is "far from superior"? Lolz.
All phones matter.

I never had a smartphone that would randomly and regularly reboot itself. The fact that both of yours do that seems like an odd coincidence to me. You think maybe it's an app you have installed on both devices that could be the culprit? If my phones were doing that I would have them replaced because that's not normal. BTW, I have the overly sensitive screen issue on my S7 Edge but apparantly it's the nature of the beast. I went to both Best Buy and a Verizon store and played around with their display models. They all seem about the same. So I guess it's something you have to adjust to. I'm still looking forward to a fix in a firmware update though.

I'm not totally sure what it would be cause by on the Note 5. It started after the first Marshmallow update. I can't do an OTA because it's no longer on a carrier, so I'm not sure if any updates (if released) would fix it or not. I do use Nova Prime on it for a launcher, and the device has a fair amount of apps and is loaded with widgets on 3 screens (including the home screen).
The S7 Edge doesn't do the reboots anymore since the 2nd Marshmallow update, so that's no longer an issue. After today's update, the phone isn't waking randomly anymore, so the screen is turning on randomly. I also haven't been experiencing the vibrate issue either. The device appears to be a lot more stable than previously, too.
I assume its a mixture of updates through firmware and apps that cause the issues I was experiencing, but it's difficult to say.
I only experience an "overly sensitive screen" when I play Clash of Clans and hold my finger in one spot on the screen - it'll start shaking as if I was moving my finger slightly in different directions. I just checked now and it doesn't do that anymore, so that may have been fixed.
I haven't been able to update the Note 5 yet, nor am I to worried about it at this point, so I can't confirm any changes on that device.
However, the S7 Edge of mine is preforming exceptionally today. Much better than it was even preforming this morning pre-update.

That's good that your S7 issue is resolved. Maybe Samsung is aware of some of the screen issues and is working on it with updates. As far as your Note 5, you can probably find the latest firmware on Sammobile.

I spoke too soon as most of the issues came back again.
Not sure what the problem is, but oh well.
There's been a problem with every phone I've purchased - HTC Hero, HTC Evo3D, Galaxy S4, Note 3, Note 4, Note 5, and S7 Edge.
The difference is that I was able to install custom ROM's on those older devices.
It's always something. That's how it goes.

I know that feeling. At the suggestion of a Verizon tech, I ran the Verizon repair assistant program in an attempt to fix my over sensitive touch screen issue. When I ran the program my phone was working normal without the screen sensitivity problem. I blabbed it on the forums I found a fix. The following day was screen was back to acting up. I would have returned the phone if I knew the fix was only temporary. By waiting that one more day I was one day past my 14 day return window. I'm getting use to the way it is. I have to be overly cautious to prevent inadvertently opening apps and links.
If someone can show me a forum about an Android device where there is no one talking about their device lags or sucks for a variety of issues, I would like to know. There are always going to people with issues. Some may be user induced, some a design flaw and others just a defective unit.

Here's what is causing the random screen-on:
http://androidforums.com/threads/samsung-s7-screen-keeps-turning-on-randomly.1014655/page-2
Turns out to be the Verizon Message+ App.
After disabling that app, I no longer have that issue.
The screen, however, is still pretty... (sensitive?). There are times where the phone will act as if I tapped the screen, but I never even touched it; resulting in a clicked link, webpage moving, etc... A bit irritating, but isn't causing too much of a hassle.
In conclusion, every phone will always have a defect. Lol.
------------------edit 1
ADDED: After disabling Message+ my charge light no longer works. Always something.
------------------edit 2
My notification light no longer works at all. Lol. I give up.

This why i have sold almost all my high end phones and i have owned most of them. My last 3 galaxy s6 edge, galaxy notr 5 and galaxy s7 edge. Because overtime they become slugish doesnt matter if i use package disabler to d
Disable like 200 bloatware from device..yes including the heavy touchwiz on galaxy s7 edge.
Nexus 6p still smooth just like the first day. It never slowsdown and never require any reboot because it feels slugish. I use it for week without getting a reboot or forcing myself that i needed one because it never gets slow. Only reboot when a apps requires to or an update.
Mine does (very) occasionally. It's usually caused by whatever-the-hell-is-going-on-with-Bluetooth-in-my-car.
Normal day to day use, car excluded, the 6P has been the smoothest phone I've had by far.
The only time I notice any lag is when it's updating apps in the background. Otherwise it's still as responsive as the day I received it.
So what is it about Android phones that make them slow down with use?

I know that one reason (especially on iOS) is that the software updates become more bloated over time and not as well optimized for older hardware, at least until they stop supporting the phone entirely.
There's probably some kind of hardware degredation too but I don't know if this would be noticeable in just a year or two.

Cache files piling up, unoptimized apps (memory leaks have been a huge issue since Lollipop), poor "customization" made by the user (think OCing leading to high temperature leading to throttling, effectively reversing any effects of OCing, or UVing causing instability), carrier and OEM bloatware...
There are literally thousands of ways that any phone, computers or tablets could become slower over time. My personal advice is to restart the phone at least once per day to refresh the cache and prevent rogue apps.
Personally, I have not seen the phone slowing down in the 6 months that I have owned it. That being said, I flash a new rom every week or so, so there's not much chance it could slow down anyways.
Never seen a slow down since launch. But a lot of speeding tickets!
