Hey guys,
i have custom rom nexus pure
and i want to install franco kernel.
do i need to do somthing special before the install?
like wipe?
and another thing,in the post about the kernel it explain what to do according to your current verison of the kernel
"
If you're on a 100% stock device (stock rom + stock Kernel) or already on r8 or newer disregard the messages below and just flash - if not:
* If you're on stock rom + r7, or older, you should be flashing stock boot.img first, then r8, or newer;
* If you're on a custom rom + r7, or older, you should dirty flash the rom (or extract its boot.img and fastboot flash it) and then r8, or newer;
"
and i have just custom rom and havent the kernel so im not sure what to do.
thank you for helping
Are you with your custom rom kernel ?
If yes, then just flash fk and root (if you want to).
Profit

In your case, just flash FK r10. No need to flash SuperSU, Pure Nexus is pre-rooted.

so you mean that i need to do these steps
1a. Download the latest Pure Nexus zip (pay attention to the version you choose) and your custom kernel if you have one onto your phone.
1b. If you are on the CMTE variant, it is a good idea to set your theme back to stock before dirty flashing. If you don’t and your theme looks wonky after flashing, try using this app.
2. Boot into TWRP and make a backup (remove any lock screen security before this, optional but HIGHLY recommended).
3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (optional).
4. Flash Pure Nexus zip.
5. Update your vendor image (only need to do this once per build number).
6. Flash your custom kernel (optional).
7. Reboot and profit.
just with the kernel zip?
and if the answer is yes i need to update the vendor image again? i already did it when i install the rom.
thank for the help man it mean to me alot
No. all you need to do is go into twrp and install the kernel
THose are the install insructions for when you update the rom either via dirty or clean.
since you already have the ROM installed, just install the kernel in twrp and reboot.

Hi.
I'm in PA 3.0 (08 FEB Build), now i wanted to flash the lastest build but now it seems like we have to do something else apart of flashing the ROM, flash bootloader and radios? Why do I need to do this? I love PA but I dont understand why in this build I need to flash bootloader and radio.
About the kernel, to flash it, is the same way as the rom? Recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot? That's all nothing else?
And the last thing, does Franco kernel r73 Works on the lastest PA build? (15 Feb)
[I was going to ask each thing in PA/Franco thread but I cant because of my level]

You don't *need* to upgrade your baseband and boot loader. The new version of PA is 4.
No, just wipe cache (you don't even really have to) and flash it. Just make sire if you come from franco.Kernel to flash the reset kernel before flashing a different one.
Yes, it should.

Also I'm with the PA 11-Feb release and
Goo manager says there's an update
The question is ;
How to that step by step ..
Thanks
If you guys are using PA before the FEB 15th build, you will need to wipe everything in recovery before flashing the new FEB 15th rom.
PLEASE READ THIS GUIDE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151498
Someone had already asked this question yesterday.
One more thing, you don't need the new bootloader or baseband. Yes, most of us love PA rom but you dont need it. The new bootloader and baseband were created by Google not Molesarecoming (One of the many developers of PA rom). It's nice to have the latest Google S**t anyways.
To add a kernel all you have to do is choose which one you want and flash it after you have finished flashing everything.
That's it. It's that simple.

If you're using the app, you simply PRESS the LATEST UPDATE and it will DOWNLOAD. It will APPEAR in the NOTIFICATION BAR that you are DOWNLOADING IT. Once you're finished, enter recovery mode and flash the rom by following the guide that I have written for you.

Yesterday, Cyanogen posted on their blog that they now have CM12 nightlies for our device and that they are 85% done with the M releases. Source: http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/the-l-is-for-lollipop
They are in the process of building and posting the nightlies for shamu. The list on the blog is being built in alphabetical order
At the current speed the nightlies are being built, our device should be available in four hours by now
It's here!!
Yes. Just saw it. Downloading and installing now.
Still not a lot of features implemented. I thought SU was in privacy guard as has been reported and flashed without SuperSu initially and didn't have root. Had to flash again, seems stable but very minimal features thus far
Any idea if they are staying away from being caf based this time
does anyone know if on the official nightlies the Force Encryption is enabled. Also is there a thread for the official CM12 for shamu on xda yet?

Most custom kernels will say in OP if they force encryption. If not just search the thread of "encryption" or "decrypted" and you'll find out soon enough

All the kernels are for aosp/stock as of right now so as long as cm12 hasn't went to caf then they should work fine. So you should be able to try any of the kernels. Only one way to find out make a backup and give it a shot. Worst that would happen is it wouldn't boot.

Yes exactly. You shouldn't have to flash supersu as normally cm roms have root built in. But if for some reason it didn't you could always go back into recovery and flash supersu.

Well i have the problem when i have installed Kernel my phoone boots to TWRP ? why is that ?
Ok i wiped All expect SD card in TWRP.. Installed KK bootloader Installed Kernel Then Installed cloudy 3.3 and my phone Works ok buy how can i know what kernel do i use ? do i use dorimanx ? is that the right way to install it or no ?
I have checked my Kernel it's 3.4.0 I cant install dorimanx Kernel i dont know why... When i Go to TWRP and install it My phone boots in TWRP :S :/
I don't know what method you used. Kernel installation is allways connected to TWRP. When you install Dorimanx over Dorimanx OTA App it will download the newest kernel then boot to TWRP and flash the new kernel. The it reboots the system. If you're "stuck" in TWRP hit reboot button and tap on reboot system.
If it doesn't boot correctly you have to do a clean flash. First download Blastagators TWRP from here
http://www.gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/twrp/
and flash it inside TWRP. Reboot TWRP (reboot recovery).
Put CloudyRom.zip on your phones download folder or an OTG-USB-drive. Wipe everything (don't be scared, internal memory will not be erased). Flash CloudyRom and wipe again. Then reboot. After boot install Dorimanx OTA App from playstore and follow the instructions. It will flash dorimanx Kernel automatically. Now everything should work.
I hope this is helpfull.

I really want to put a custom ROM on my phone (Asus ZenFone Laser 2 - ZE500KL), obviously without bricking it. Because I can't find RessurectionRemix or LineageOS already built, I'm going to try building by myself.
I can't find any good tutorials, but I tried this one, but I got an error right when installing the libraries... Because I know no one is going to build it for me, can someone suggests a step by step tutorial? (I have amateur Linux skills, I'm not any pro, but not any noob)
You can find LineageOS/AOKP/RR for ZE500KL here. here
Make sure you get the Z00ED version.

Make sure your bootloader is unlocked before flashing twrp, go to fastboot and type this

if you see this -->> (bootloader)Device unlocked: true
then you are unlocked, then proceed to flash your device twrp latest version.

The second on (androidfilehost)
Before installing make sure you are on Android 6.0 and you unlocked your bootloader using the official unlock: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE500KL/0518-1134_SIGNED_UnlockTool_ZE500KL_AndroidM.apk
You should find your twrp here in xda or twrp.me

Just 2 more things I wanna make sure:
1. Do I need to root to flash LineageOS?
2. On that LineageOS post, what is the AOKP? xD I already checked the website but I didn't get what it is, and if it comes with the ROM...
You dont need to root because the rom is already pre rooted. But you can change root to SuperSU or PHH Superuser if you want.
AOKP are custom ROM developers/modders.

1: you don't need to root
2: AOKP is a custom ROM based on CyanogenMod/LineageOs but with extra features (Like Resurrection Remix has)
Thank you very much to everyone, Im just rocking LineageOS 14.1 on my smartphone! Until now, no errors!
