My Xperia Helper has stopped [Xperia C4] [SOLUTION] - Sony Xperia C4 Questions & Answers

So i brought the phone about 3 months ago in Best Buy orlando everything was doing alright but yesterday y updated the phone, i was thinking about rooting it. I've always rooted my phones (moto g 2013, 2014, and 4g, samsung s3 s4 trend ) soo i know what i was doing, but then i downloaded the update via wifi and oficial sony notification, all worked good but then my phone restarted and then was where the problema begin, it showed me my a black page where all i can do is doing Autenticate, wifi settings and emergency call, ok they copping icloud what a pitty, everything good from that point, nice system against the thiefs but when i try to autenticate my username and all i clicked the option AUTENTICATE and a pop up show saying "My xperia helper desafortunately has stopped working" thats it, it doesnt let me do ANYTHING not even put a mail nothing i ve found some solutions but they didnt work i will leave them here so anybody can try and see if they work, no one worked for me, anybody got it ?
Here you can see your device but you cant locate it, nor play a sound, not anything ( coppying icloud and failing at it) https://myxperia.sonymobile.com/
First "solution" you would need the PC companion
"Para hacer una reparaciĆ³n de software usando una computadora con Windows (To make a software repair using a PC with Windows)
1 Make sure not to have your device connected to your PC and make sure it's charged, it's preferable being 100% charged. Go to http://support.sonymobile.com/global-es/xperiam/tools/pc-companion/ and install PC Companion in your PC.
2 Disconnect your device from the computer. Ignore any instruction of connecting your device to the PC until step 11.
3 Hit "Update Mobile/Cell phone or Tablet. Select "Start"
4 You'll read "The device coluldn't be found". Select "Repair my phone/tablet.
5 If asked, select your device and click on Next. if not, go to step 7.
6 You'll read a warning about losing your personal data. Accept that all data is going to be overwritten. Select "Next"
7 Mark the box to confirm that you have understood that you're going to lose all personal data, next, click Next. The application is going to prepare the update and, if necessary, download information from Internet. (This step took me ages, so try using a wired connection for making it faster, it's tons of info downloaded)
8 You are asked to follow instructions and, if necessary, make the poper steps to update the software of your device. DON'T CONNECT THE DEVICE YET! Mark the verification box and click Next.
9 Make sure your device is not connected to the PC. Verify that your device battery is at least 80%. Click Next.
10 If asked, select your device from the list and click Next. If it's not on the list, go to step 12.
11 Make sure your device is turned off and disconnected from the PC.
12 Connect ONLY the USB wire to the PC.
13 While you keep the indicated key, connect the USB to the device (it's the volume down key... KEEP IT PRESSED!!!) and keep the key pressed until you see the following message "The update for your device has started)
14 When the update has started, you'll read "stop pressing the key" indicated in step 14.
15 If you don't follow the step correctly, your device is going to turn on. If this happens, disconnect the device from the computer and start all over again from step 13.
16 Wait until the fixing procedure finishes. When it's finished, disconnect the device and turn it on again.
17 On your PC, click Next. If the fixing was correctly done, you'll read the following message "Your device has been updated". Click "End".
Second solution you would need Flashtool witch comes with xperifirm you have to download flashtool from here (it has to be the last version) download the firmware in xperifarm and then proceed to flash it
Last solution ONLY FOR US RESIDENTS, talk to the support of sony and they will tell you to deliver it to a Tecnic service
FOUND THE SOLUTION
Ok as i say in second solution, you would need Xperifirm downloading version 27.1.a.1.106, then dowload it and let it create a bundle HERE COMES THE TRIKY PART you have to choose the MAX USB BUFFER to the lowest *128K*, push flash and you are ready to go, dont panic it will take a time to restart the cellphone after you do it, glad to see sony doesnt care about their customers. Cheers for your phone again back at use!

Auto WinMo update failed? how to do it manual?

Hi, I think everyone of us can't use the windows update feature in our omnia 2 (winmo 605)
Then, how can I update my windows build? i'm running build 21863, which have irritating menu to manage..please, i really want to update my winmo 6.5 build. Please share, thanks!
I just went into the update page on my Omnia2 and did a manual update. It took about 4 mins and I did not have it connected to my PC. Update successful.
why i can't? failed to connect.
can someone please help me?
same problem here.
it always tells me to check the connection and make sure time and date are set correctly.
for system time i use GMT+1
connection is fine. i tried provider network as well as WiFi.
Does anybody have a solution how I can check for updates?
[Solution] Update Samsung Omnia II
Method 1: By Yourself
1) Download New PC Studio from Samsung's website:
Link: downloadcenter[dot]samsung[dot]com/content/SW/201002/20100210183453156/New_PC_Studio_1.4.0.IL2.exe
*NOTE: REPLACE the [dot] with .
2) Install and launch NPS
*NOTE: YOU MUST BE RUNNING XP/VISTA TO USE. WINDOWS 7 IS NOT SUPPORTED
3) Connect your device via USB, make sure ActiveSync is already installed, ensure that NPS detects your phone.
*NOTE: IF YOU HAVE LOST/MISPLACED YOUR USB CABLE, A STANDARD MICRO USB CABLE SHOULD DO.
At the bottom right hand corner, there is a 'Upgrade' Button. Click on it. It will launch a window in NPS. Select your phone and click Check For Updates. If there are upgrades available, it should prompt you whether you want to install the upgrade. From here, follow the instructions onscreen.
If your phone errors during installation, it will boot into recovery. Reconnect the phone to the computer. It will not be recognized by NPS yet. Once again click the 'Update' Button and instead of Checking for Updates, click Recovery.
Method 2: At a Service Center
If your phone is still under warranty, you can bring the phone to a service center for upgrade. It should take ~30min for them to do that, depending on the number of customers they are serving. This way if anything goes wrong it isn't your fault.
I think Samsung disable the update function in their phones as they wanted people to flash only Samsung-Approved ROMs from their application
Besides, i was also facing this problem, so GOOD LUCK!
HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU
I just tried to update on my i8000 - worked fine, but:
a) it lasted a few minutes
b) no updates available now.

Finally got Root with 2gig card that came with phone

I've posted this inside another thread but decided to make a new one so others can see.
To all of you guys who are giving up - DON'T !
Here's how I finally got root on my DINC after about 3 days of trying.
I've read and watched almost every post and walk-throughs available in this forum and few others and was still unable to get into ADB Shell using any of the methods and tricks available and even though none of them worked I kept trying until I found a post on adndroidforums.com by Centsy. So along with his instructions and combination of many others here's how I achieved root:
1. Download the file from the 10 minute incredible root video on YouTube by mejdam. (can't post the link cause I'm new to the forum).
2. Unzip the file and run SDK setup.
3. As soon as SDK setup runs it gives an error message. Close it. then hit Cancel on next window.
4. While still in Android SDK and AVD Manager click on Available Packages (on the left) and then hit the plus sign in the right window for the repository. It will give you a list of packages available. Download the very last one which is the USB_Driver. It will add 'usb_driver' folder to your SDK folder where you ran sdk setup from.
5. Modify android_winusb.inf file inside the 'usb_driver' folder by adding these lines at the end of [Google.NTx86] and [Google.NTamd64] sections:
;HTC Incredible
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C9E
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C9E&MI_01
%SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C94
6. I used the 2 gig Sandisk memory card that came with the phone. Had it FAT32 full formatted on the pc.
7. insert the card into the phone wait for it to be recognized
8. connect the phone to the pc and use the modified inf file of Android SDK usb_driver to get the phone connected and drivers installed. Note that I do not have HTC Sync installed on my pc.
9. on the phone go to settings->applications->development->turn on USB Debugging. wait for the phone to be recognized
10. open command prompt, navigate to your SDK\Tools folder and type in: adb devices. when you hit enter it should list your phone as being connected.
11. at the prompt type: adb reboot recovery, hit enter
12. as soon as the prompt is back type: loop and hit enter to start the adb shell loop. As soon as the loop starts running, the phone should show the white HTC Incredible screen, start clicking in and out the sd card before you hear the device disconnected sound on your pc. keep clicking the card in and out until you hear device connected sound on you pc. If you still don't see THE message we are looking for after another 10, 15 seconds stop clicking the card. take the battery out of the phone, put it back in, wait for it to reboot and repeat steps 11 and 12.
I had to do steps 11 and 12 about 3 times when I said to myself - next time is the last time and if it doesn't work then I'm going to get the 2gig PNY card that everyone is saying helps them achieve root. Then all of the sudden it took a little longer for the device connected sound to come up and the mouse cursor turned to the Waiting Hour-Glass and as soon as I heard the sound I saw the good old error message we are all striving to see. After that I just followed the instructions on the 10 minute root video to get the phone rooted.
Never give up, Never surrender !
Hopefully this will help some of you guys to achieve root and thanks to everyone who's hard at work on getting this great phone rooted.
Hi,
Having issues with your Step #12. You say to click the card in and out when the white HTC screen comes up and do it till the first disconnect sound. Then you go on to say keep clicking untill it connects. Then you says 10-15 seconds after the connect sounds keep clicking. Don't you mean to say keep clicking from white HTC screen till 10-15 seconds after the 2nd sound(the connect sound) So basically clicking for over 30seconds.
Please clarify as I'm thinking you meant differently thne what you typed. I too have a stock 2G sandisk card that came with my phone and so want to get this rooted without buying a PNY card hah.

Basically once the white screen comes up, start clicking the card in and out until about 10, 15 seconds after the 2nd connect sound that windows give you. However, you MUST start pushing the card in and out before the 1st disconnect sound.
Okay cool. Fingers crossed I have been trying since yesterday and about to jump out the window hah.

Wow, I got it first time with this method! Thanks a lot! I am also using the stock 2gb card that came with the phone.
Thanks man. I got this to work twice in about 4 tries. 1st time it worked I accidently selected reboot option. So had to retry this method. My clicks were medium speed not very fast and not excessively slow in case that helps anyone. About 1 a second.

(2G Sandisk Rooter hehe)
Hey this method worked to get the error but I can not write to the SDCard, I get the following when I try to push something: failed to copy 'busybox' to 'sdcard/busybox: Permission Denied
It is the same with any file and I did Apply sdcard:update.zip
Please help!
I think this will help

Once you get error, I believe that you need to run the "apply update.zip" once and let it fail. Then you can adb to the sdcard.
PS, this method never worked for me, no matter how much I tried.

Same here, i still can't get to adb shell . . .
I got into adb doing the click on the 3d try but it kept failing to push the payload and then I accidentally restarted the phone. AHHHH, just spent 30 minutes doing the same thing and couldn't get back in.
Awesome, I got it to work using your method.
First I tried the "10 min..." video, but it was unclear in some areas. I had to try a few times (10+) to get it to work. Problem for me was the speed at which I was putting in and out the SD Card. I did it at some odd pattern like In (4 sec), out (.5 Sec), in (4 sec), etc. Then all of a sudden it worked.
Got it rooted .
Thanks again!
Finally got it. Thanks
Spent probably 6 hours messing with it. Not worth it anymore.
What does this mean:
8. connect the phone to the pc and use the modified inf file of Android SDK usb_driver to get the phone connected and drivers installed.

I've connected the phone, it shows up when I type "adb devices", but I have no idea how to "use the modified inf file... to get the phone connected and drivers installed."

if your phone shows up then you may proceed further. Howerver if after quite a few tries you still can't root then you should try updating the driver with the modified inf file.
go to your device manager, you should see the very first item should be Android Phone. right click on the phone and choose update driver and point to the modified INF file.
if your pc tells you that it cannot find a better driver, just uninstall the phone from device manager (right click and choose uninstall), unplug the phone from the pc, wait about a minute and plug the phone back in - but use a different usb port just in case. Then when found new hardware manager comes up point it to the modified INF file.
Good luck.
Doesnt work for me. annoying
*edit* Finally got it 7 seconds awesome
I cannot get my inc to take the driver .inf file. I have edited it correctly, tried forcing the driver to it, and it keeps telling me that the driver is not valid for a 64-bit os. Tried doing it as a legacy device as well.
Win 7 ultimate 64-bit
dont see the plus sign
hit the plus sign in the right window for the repository well for some reason i dont see any plus sign in there to hit tell me what i might be doing wrong
Please Help If You Can
I am logged in; got the recovery; followed the instructions, and it didn't say unrevoked. so i did it again and
did a whole bunch of things
Finding update packge
opening update package
verifying update package
installing update
veridying curernt system
unpacking patches
removing unneeded files
patching system fioles
symlinks and permission s...
then I got
e:multiple firmware images
e: can't store zip image
installation aborted
Now I also cant get into ADB SHELL
when I type adb shell I get
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
but no prompt
I will try to stay logged in and everything BUT PLEASE HELP. What do I do?
Thanks for these instructions, Op.
I was successful by exactly following your steps.
Edit to provide additional details -- I tried unsuccessfully upwards of 100 times following the instructions in the 10min video. A couple things that probably attributed to the success of this method for me:
1) Formatted 2GB card to FAT32 (4096) as recommended.
2) Uninstalled HTC Sync / HTC Driver Installer. I used the "SDK Setup" to download the USB drivers.
A tip if you're having trouble getting the USB drivers to download... I had to go to the "Settings" menu in the Android SDK and AVD Manager, and check the "Force https://... sources to be fetched using http://..." otherwise the Available Packages menu would fail to get the repository.xml.
I then applied the recommended changes to android_winusb.inf in C:\sdk\usb_driver\ and used this .inf as the Android Phone driver. It was possible to assign the driver after setting to "Debug" mode in the OS.
3) I started clicking the SD card as soon as the white screen would come up, instead of waiting for a few seconds after it appeared. I used a 2 seconds in, .5 seconds out, 2 seconds in, ... pattern.
4) After each failed attempt, instead of pulling the battery and holding volume- + pwr, I went with the ops method. This was to abort the "loop" tool on the PC, pull the battery, boot the phone normally to the OS, verify the phone was recognized by typing "adb devices" on the PC cmd prompt, commanding "adb reboot recovery" to reset the phone into recovery mode, starting "loop" as soon as the command prompt came back, and finally clicking the SD card as described above.

Problem conecting to PC

Anyone else having problems getting their Windows 7 PC to pick up there SIII
When I connect my Phone I get the following message.
***********
Hardware device missing
Windows cannot identify the device SAMSUNG USB
***********
Or something like that.
Anyway, it picked it up once (yesterday) and nothing since then. Its really annoying as it won't connect to Kies.

There are two possible issue at play here, one your pc drivers are incorrect or two the phone has an issue (1 is much more likely).
1) Uninstall Kies, reboot the pc, reinstall kies and disconnect from the internet then plug your phone in.
see if that works, if not you may need to manually point to the correct drivers
2) Odin flash your existing rom back using the "update bootloader" issue, this will repair any slight niggles on the phone side.
Tried option 1 and still nothing, Kies keeps crashing and the phone will still not connect.
How do I manualy select the right driver???
I don't really want to try option 2. I only have the phone 2 weeks and I'm very happy with it as it is. I don't want to go modding it like my last phone.
I have this issue too.
You are not alone...Lot of users have this issue!
I cant really find what cause it, but you can read some threads here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828016
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844400
There are more you can find if google the problem...
I always for now unistall/install drivers again. But after 2-3 times of properly connections the issue is back.

Option 2 is not strictly speaking modding, all you will be doing is flashing the stock rom (the rom you already have on your phone) back over itself, you will not be rooting or customising everything, the rom will still be "official" and not "modified".
As for the drivers, I assume your using windows? if so:
Press Start
Right click on "computer"
Manage devices
find the item that has the "!" error sign and right click update driver
point it to the kies installation folder.
hope for the best.

Done the above and it tell's me that I'm using the most up to date drivers.
ok new idea (but will only be a temp fix)
When you plug the phone in it should have a notification saying connected to media device.
Click that, change from MTP to PTP and back again. and see if that helps.
Just found this worked for me.

Yeah that whole "Hardware ID missing" was an irritating situation. This is what I recommend as far as making it work.
1. Plug in.
2. When you get the error message, I think its because of a conflict with the ADB interface. Go to Settings, Developer Options, and check off USB Debugging.
3. Plug in once again and it should work. If not, try toggling between Camera and MTP.

All i want to do is see my phone in MyComputer then I can access the files no problem.
Back on Media device (mtp) and it looked like it installed drivers and then the folder Computer/GT-I9300 opened so happy days.

Kogan Agora HDMI Smart TV Quad Core - Root Access

Hi,
So I have had a good experience with the Kogan Agora 7" a couple of years ago. I flashed a new ROM and my 6 year old still idolizes it. It's perfect for games and movies while traveling and cost bugger all.
I was considering getting my kids a console unit for games but came across the new Quad core HDMI Dongle. I though to myself there is the ticket, When traveling i could use it as a smart TV (plug and play is King) Or it may be possible to replace or augment my Media-portal HTPC system.
I bought one and on the face of it it appears to do all that I require from an Android device like web surfing, mail checking and video streaming fine, except when it came to installing the Playstation controller.
I needed Root access and it was a bit of a pain to get it done. BUT I found it!
I used RK3188_ROOT for CX-919 FW0715 MOD by Everal. found here.
1. Turn the device on
2. Make sure USB debugging is enabled
3. Connect the device to Win7
4. Start the file "TPSparkyRoot.bat" as admin
Enjoy.
So if anyone decides to purchase one of these to play with, you will be glad to know that it is a Rockchip RK188. Weather you think that hardware is good or not is irrelevant but it is useful to know as I tried many methods to gain root but once I had this bit of info it became easy.
Those infinity Pocket PC's may be the same although I can't be sure.
I managed to pair a sixaxis controller and am working on getting it running in a game. I will post if i have any more issues and or success.

Thanks for posting this info. However I'm not able to get this to work. My PC doesn't recognise the device when it's in "USB Debugging" mode. In the device manager it just appears in "Other Devices" as "KHSTVQCDONA". I've tried updating the software, selecting the "usb_drivers" folder containing drivers provided in the downloading Zip file, and also tried downloading the "Google USB Drivers" directly from Google, but Windows doesn't find the drivers for this device.
If I disable "USB Debugging" the device does connect successfully under "Portable Devices", but clearly that's not much use.
I can't seem to figure it out.
Below are the steps I took in trying to get it to work. I was going to write it as a guide for dummies, but I never got it working...
Download the software from the link above. On the "Share-Online" page click the small-ish button that says "continue for free", and not the bit "DOWNLOAD FILE (regular download)" button in the banner ad (that I feel very silly for clicking several times).
Once the file "RK3188_ROOT for CX-919 FW0715 MOD by Everal.zip" has finished downloading, extract it to a temp location on your PC.
Make sure the Micro-USB port of the device is connected to a power source (either your PC or the provided AC adapter). The port doesn't seem to transfer data.
On the Agora device, go to "Settings", open the "USB" menu, and enable "Connect to PC". Without this the device wasn't recognised by my PC at all.
In "Settings", click on the "Developer options" menu, and tick "USB debugging".
Connect the provided blue Male-Male USB cable to a full-sized USB port on the device, and to a USB port on your PC. At this stage the device connects but is not recognised.
Open the Windows "Device Manager".
In the "Device Manager", expand "Other Devices", then right-click on "KHSTVQCDONA" and click on "Update Driver Software".
Click "Browse my computer for driver software".
Navigate to the "usb_drivers" folder of the software you extracted earlier, select it, and click "OK".
Click "OK". THIS DIDN'T WORK, stating that "Windows was unable to install your KHSTVQCDONA" and "Windows could not find driver software for your device".
[*] Open "Command Prompt", by right-clicking on it and clicking "Run as Administrator".
[*]C:
[*]cd RK3188_ROOT
[*]TPSparkyRoot.bat
At this point I see the following:
*---* VonDroid.com N101 II Root Tool based on work by sunnydavid *---*

I terminate at this point
I've also done the following
Un-ticked "Verify apps over USB"
In "Security", ticked "Unkown sources", and un-ticked "Verify apps"
At this point I'm totally at a loss.
I had already started using the device initially, so I did a factory reset, but this hasn't helped at all.
Can you see anything I'm missing, or point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance! :good:
Ok So I know i messed around with many drivers installing and uninstalling before it worked. I Thought it was the last set that came with the Root method but I may be wrong.
Also I cant remember exactly now but I am pretty sure if you activate the connect to computer you bypass the ROM and connect to the SD card and the U SD. So that would not help when accessing the root files.
Try re-installing the drivers after connecting without the box checked in settings or try the ones from super oneclick 2.3.3 or even the pocket pC ones. you may also need to uninstall the device then reconnect to get a clean run at it. Windows likes hanging onto what it thinks is the best driver even when they don't work or are completely wrong.
Also I ran the batch file form within windows not in console, Just right clock to run as administrator.
I have just used it for a couple of weeks in Japan get let the Kids watch Aview (iView) and it worked a treat. Also the latest sixaxis updates made the controller even better than before. I can probably have a tool around with it later this week but I am busy before then so wont be able to help any. It can be done!
PM me if you cant find the drivers mentioned above I can email them to you.
Thanks for the quick response.
Can you just confirm that you were connecting using the blue Male-Male USB cable, and not a USB-Micro-USB cable?
When I connect to the Micro-USB port it doesn't see a device at all. It just seems to provide power.
When I connect with the blue Male-Male USB cable, unless I have "Connect to PC" ticked, it also doesn't see a device.
I don't have a micro-SD card installed, but that doesn't matter right?
I'll try those drivers you suggest. Thanks.
I am quite keen to figure out what is different but I cant access it for a couple of days sorry.
I definitely used a full sized USB to Connect, I may have used another one, and powered it from the Micro USB direct to power supply. If you are connecting it to the PC for power it may cause problems.
I know that you cannot access the recovery menu unless you are powering through the Micro USB only. Another thing I meant to mention in my original post. I may have posted it elsewhere.
SUCCESS! After I got the SuperOneClick software to forcibly install the drivers the device was then recognised and I could root the device.
Thanks. I'll write up the full instructions.
Excellent!! Thanks for writing up the guide.
OK, here is a full step-by-step guide for getting this to work:
Download "SuperOneClick" from Download.com (CNET). I can't post external links right now because I'm a new user, but it will appear if you do a Google search.
Extract SuperOneClick to a temporary location ("C:\temp" for the purpose of this installation).
Download the software from the link in the first post above. On the "Share-Online" page click the small-ish button that says "continue for free", and not the big "DOWNLOAD FILE (regular download)" button in the banner ad (that I feel very silly for clicking several times).
Once the file "RK3188_ROOT for CX-919 FW0715 MOD by Everal.zip" has finished downloading, extract it to a temp location on your PC (for the purpose of these instructions "C:\temp").
Make sure the Micro-USB port of the device is connected to a power source (ideally the provided AC adapter). The port doesn't seem to transfer data so don't connect it to your PC, unless you are using your PC as the power source. Basically as long as it's turned on, then continue.
Open "SuperOneClick"
In SuperOneClick click the "Advanced" tab, then click "Check Drivers".
When prompted to ask if you would like it to forcefully install drivers, click "Yes".
Click the "Install..." option when prompted by "Windows Security".
You should then hear the device connect, and disconnect, and see an message "Driver installed! Please reconnect your device", so click "OK".
Disconnect the blue USB cable from you PC, and then reconnect it. You should hear that the device has connected successfully (and it now appears as "Android Composite ADB Interface" in you "Device Manager" if you care to check.).
Open "Command Prompt", by right-clicking on it and clicking "Run as Administrator". (I found that running the .bat file directly failed because it didn't find the "adb" application)
C:
cd temp\RK3188_ROOT
TPSparkyRoot.bat
Follow the prompts from here. The application should reboot your device several times (if not something is wrong), after which point you press any ket to continue. From here everything was very straight-forward once the .bat file completed the device was then rooted.
Enjoy
I had to do things differently......
Used rocketchip_batch_tool_1.7 for drivers, superoneclick didnt do anything.
I ran the batch from the folder on my desktop.
For EACH device re-boot i had to RE CHECK connect usb on cx919 settings.
I got a few errors about no more storage on my device when it tried to copy some stuff, although i have the super user and i tried sixaxis controller which requires root and it worked. Not sure what the files were.
update:
Hmm and it seems SSL websites dont work now as well as Netflix or the Store.
ill have to try something else!
Update:
did a factory wipe. all seems ok now.

Worked fine since then. All a sudden same prob, no Netflix no store. Wtf?
Just wanted to post an updated root method since i got one of these second hand last week
1. get the universal rockchip drivers, or the latest generic google ones. both worked for me on two different PC's. (including windows 8.1 x64)
2. Enable USB Debug mode in developer options. you know the drill.
3. the kogan device has a "USB" menu in settings, that has a 'connect to PC' setting. turn that on or ADB cuts out shortly after the system boots - turn it off after rooting for it to work normally.
4. connect PC to kogan dongle via the USB port next to the power LED. The other one doesnt work.
5. root with whatever method you want - i used kingo root which rooted it flawlessly first time.
6. have fuuuuun!
3 and 4 stumped me for days til i figured out what was going on. not something i'd ever encountered before, and likely unique to this device and why some people cant figure it out.

[HOW TO] Recover HARD BRICKED Nokia X2 : DOESN'T TURN ON, NO VIBRATION, NO LIGHT

So, Guys. Myself thought of writing this thread so that you can prevent yourselves from entering into danger as well as get rid of it even if you enter by mistake.
As you all know that, we are currently facing an issue of SIM offline, myself got into the trouble (as per me, when i insert a sim in sim 1, device recognizes the network provider but there is no signal. sim 2 is fine) and inorder to rectify that issue, i tried all possible ways like deleting IMEI and rewriting it, changing modem etc.
But nothing worked and so thought of using NOKIA CARE SUIT (NCS) >> Product Support Tool For Store 5
& change the firmware to Nokia X2DS RM-1013 059V782 v2.1.0.13 which was the biggest mistake which i ever committed and it resulted in hard brick.
I suggest everyone not to flash 2.1.0.13 version please
In my case, i was not even able to use the volume buttons and power button inorder to get to bootloader or custom recovery. Trust me, i'm not a noob but i do know the situation in which i'm and searched everywhere and took help of lots of guys and finally found the solution to it.
Just follow these steps:
A. Requirements:
1. Nokia Firmware - Thanks to Firmware27
2. QPST_2.7.422
3. QDLoader HS-USB Driver
B. Procedure:
1. Extract Requirement - 1, 2, 3 separately.
2. Now Install requirement - 2 & in Requirement - 3, just install Setup
3. Now connect USB to NOKIA X2 & Laptop/PC
4. Click on the start menu and type QFIL in search box and open it.
5. Under "SELECT PROGRAMMER", click on the browse button and
select "rm1013_2.1.0.13_user_prog_emmc_firehose_8x10. mbn" from the Requirement - 1
6. Under "DOWLOAD", you will find "LOAD XML" and now click on that and a window will appear infront you :silly:
7. Now in the window, type *.xml in the file name so that the xml files will show up.
8. Now select "rm1013_2.1.0.12_059V787_001_rawprogram_unsparse_ui"
9. Soon another window will show up automatically and now type *.xml in the file name so that the xml files will show up.
10. Now select "P12026702dpi600_label_layout"
11. Now Click on the "DOWNLOAD" just button below the Load XML button.
- Make sure your device is connected to the PC/lappy through cable :silly:
Everything is done. Now sit back and Relax.
Your NOKIA X2 will bootup and it looks exactly like device when you purchased except the scratches and all
Note:
I'm not responsible if your device is bricked. Ofcourse if you are doing this, it means that your device might have already been bricked and i guess there is no other way except this to make it right
This works with all the snapdragon chipset devices.

Dear,
I am also having the same issue and tried ur method . But I am not able to install the last set up u provided under 2. QPST_2.7.422. it says as "The following package files could not be found:
C:\Users\AMR\Downloads\BallardAppCraftery.CraftyFileViewer_epyrqhfctk40t!App\2. QPST_2.7.422\vcredist_x86\vcredist_x86."exe subsequently the QFIL is not downloading the .xml content. A help would be greatly appreciated.
