Back to Single Sim - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo
I flashed my device to dual sim. Everything works fine, but i want to know is it possible to go back to a single sim firmware ??

Normally it should be as easy as flashing the non Dual SIM Firmware. If you´re using Marshmalllow, then you need to make sure that the Single SIM Firmware is Marshmallow as well. Flashing an older Firmware can make some trouble.

A6000-i Single Sim

Hi. I have a Lenovo A6000 Single Sim. I bricked my phone it reflashed it with the dual sim version. But then I somehow cannot use any sim card. It says I have to insert a sim from China Telecom. I then flashed Philippines.ota.zip (which is my country code), after i checked ####6020# in the dial screen, then I found Philippines as carrier, but I still get the same error.
I tried to flashed the ota update single sim ROM for A6000-m. The ROM worked fine, but when I checked again for the Carrier in ####6020#, my carrier was not indicated, only Egypt, Czech, UAE, and others. Then I flashed again the Philippines.ota.zip, but found out that it might not be compatible as it is for the LP version (error in the flashing).
Will someone help my Lenovo A6000 to be able to read/make data connections again? Thanks!
PS: My phone is originally locked on a certain Philippine Carrier.
You can try instaling custom rom and then flashing a single sim mod from @wujke post

Need modem dump for converting Single SIM Moto X Force to Dual SIM

Hey Guys,
I bought the Moto X Force in India. According to "About Phone", it says it's the EU version.
It has the slot of SIM2 and it even has the contacts. I put a fresh SIM into the SIM2 slot and it came out all scratched up. So, I'm sure it even has the contacts.
By putting these settings in build.prop
ro.gsm.data_retry_config=default_randomization=2000,max_retries=infinite,1000,1000,80000,125000,485000,905000
persist.radio.plmn_name_cmp=1
persist.radio.force_get_pref=1
persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds
It enabled the Dual SIM mode in android but it couldn't detect it. Still says no SIM. My guess is, it might have to do with the modem.
I was thinking if someone can post the modem dump from the Mexican or Brazilian version and if I can flash it, maybe it can work.
Of course, it might be a stupid idea. Let me know what you guys think. Is this worth trying?
Regards,
Suhas
If it has a second SIM slot, it will need a second imei number

For older models like X play. You can still use it for data. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68994968&postcount=57
Currently, the IMEI 2 is 0.
@suhas93 Did it work finally ? I was thinking of flashing modem from mexican version or XT1581.

Converting a G935f to a G935fd (single SIM to dual SIM)

All experts,
I would like to 'enable' on my S7 edge the dual SIM function. The 'international' card holder could care 2 Nano SIM card, but the G935F is supporting just one SIM.
It's possible to do this without root? It's possible to install the G935FD firmware or are there radio baseband modifications nesessary?
In addition, I need to run the Blackberry Works app (former Good). This app is not running on a rooted phone.
Thanks for any comment and help.

You can't.
Single sim variant have only 1 imei number but dual sim variant have 2 which are for each sim. You can't just add more imei to your phone and even if you can, it is illegal.
Also card holder of single sim variant cannot hold 2 sim cards, only 1 sim card+microsd.
G935fd and G935f firmwares also are identical. So you can flash it on your phone but it's not going to enable dual sim on single sim variant.

While don't you save yourself the strength and buy the dual sim version, because like the other guy above said, its impossible to use dual sim on a single sim. Backup your data, get the dual sim version and restore back.
Thanks for the first feedback.
- single SIM and dual SIM card holders are available at eBay etc. The HW of the two phone is 100% identical. A friend of mine converted his G935f to G935fd with the support of a Vietnamese service guy over TeamViewer. My problem is the root after this.
BTW: Buying a DUOS is not a problem, it cost just some money
Thanks for expert tips...

It IS possible to convert G930/5F to G930/5FD. Only you have to do is clone your IMEI as IMEI 2 using Z3x or other software and replace SIM + microSD tray to SIM + SIM/microSD or DIY
That's in theory, but I personally need assist in:
1. Downgrading to Nougat, because Z3x doesn't support (yet) the newest /efs to modify cert to add that IMEI 2 or at least I can't find new enough which supports Oreo
1.1 Need to factory reset!
2. Getting root
3. Adding IMEI 2
3.1. Need to factory reset!
4. Updating back to official Oreo without root, if possible. I'm perfectly fine with normal functions, don't need the root for anything. Only I need is second SIM. I believe that I need to flash official Nougat first over rooted Nougat and update it using FOTA to Oreo? If not, flashing Oreo by Odin.
I will very appreciate any help with confirming these steps (is it correct way?) and helping me to get needed files and stuff to do it.
All experts,
I have replace the motherboard of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, dual sim variant (SM-G935FD) with that of single sim variant but a frequent prompt of sim card mode shift is happened, saying "the sim card mode is witched from dual sim to single sim mode, which requires a rest to factory setting and restart". Since there is only a restart option, I'm forced to hit it and restart frequently but not working yet. How can I fix this problem?
Thanks for any comment and help!
Yoseph
I also used z3x and it works flawlessly im on Oreo s7 edge exynos.

[NOOB REQUEST] ALE-L21 Single SIM to Dual SIM conversion

Hello guys, my girlfriend has a 2015 P8 Lite ALE-L21. We need to convert it to dual SIM since it's not at the moment. I've read on the forum that it is possible, but since I haven't played with flashing and similar stuff for years now, I can't understand anything, because all of the threads that I can find take too much stuff for granted and I don't even know where to start searching. Also, most threads are old and refer (I guess) to older versions of the firmware, while she has all of the OTA updates installed. The phone is basically stock with no branding. I would be very thankful to someone who can give me and/or link easy instructions on how to do this or at least tell me what I need to know first in order to understand the flashing process.
Thank you for your attention
Everything you need is here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994
But keep in mind that converting it to dual sim won't really activate the second sim. You will only have a dual sim firmware but since the device only have a single IMEI it can't make the second sim card work

Thank you so much for responding. I didn't know that... so it seems completely pointless what advantages would you get by converting it to dual sim then?

Dual sim version had a better firmware support. Anyway there's no reason to convert right now because firmware supports is already ended

Flashing stock firmware requires Odin ( PC app ).
As for errors flashing firmware it's a bit hard to say, have to take it case by case, but in general terms it's usually user error. In general flashing stock firmware shouldn't touch the protected area which holds the IMEI information.

Oh I see, is there a way I can turn my G955F into a dual sim? I've seen this done on the G955N, from hardware the G955F is the same as the FD and its only the firmware stopping it from working, I get a signal when a sim is in the 2nd slot but because the phone only have 1 IMEI it doesn't work, the FD has a sim manager which is on the F but not usable.

I have only very briefly looked at converting single sim to dual sim but haven't really gone into it so I probably won't be of much help. Biggest problem will be injecting a second IMEI slot to you phone to accept the second sim card. The firmware is the same but requires the second IMEI slot to get dual sim capabilities.
