Hi guys, i had 2 reboots in the last 24 hours. One while i was on spotify and another one while i was playing. The phone freezes and then reboot. Is there a way to find out what's going wrong? Maybe read a log (?)

Kernel reboot logs are located here: /sys/fs/pstore
You can view and see error/warnings that led up to the reboots in those logs.

Random Reboots

So does EVERYONE has this problem? Is it a software problem?
I'm running on CM7 RC1 with Netarchy 1.2.4, reboots quite frequently, and it's annoying. Just had another odd bug, phone froze and wouldn't turn on and vibrated non stop for 30 seconds. Phone is buggy when ending a call, it freezes a lot at that point too, anyone else having these problems?
I called today the customer service of my carrier "oi" and I spent kinda 30 minutes talking, trying to solve a problem.
When I saw, my phone was in a bootloop with the cyanogenmod boot and I was continuing to talk, without any interrumption.
The only difference was thet the phone was hot!
Running at 1.4 with the last netarchy kernel my max was 38!!! (low)
Random reboots are a S/W problem, Google is aware of the issue and will be pushing out an update that fixes the problem.
there is nothing your carriers can do about the issue

Just a couple of questions. Are you using a frequency changer app example, setcpu cpu tuner? Do you have the set on boot checked for main profile? I have found if the set on boot is check to have random reboots on calls. I uncheck and no longer have the reboots on calls. That was the only time I ever had the reboots happen. Just a question and something to check in your settings.

Your running netarchy 1.2.4 which is still in its test phase. That's where your issue is. If you switch to a more stable one then you should be fine

No random reboots here, got it on the 3rd. Phone runs smooth as silk. I'm on stock 2.3.2. Out of all the phones I've owned this has been the most stable.
Could my phone possibly be from a different batch? I'm not experiencing any of the issues alot of other people are besides 100% init process, which I solved with keeping USB debugging on.

I don't think it's the kernel, even stock users have the reboot problems.
I don't have any such problem on Cyanogenmod 7 rc1...

We get random reboots from time to time but with the freezing and all the other issues it sounds like the kernel. I tried that kernel and I had the same issues. I just switched to 1.2.2 and I was good to go

Ah, I'm actually using that kernel as well, hasn't happened to me but I suppose it might vary from phone to phone.

I have it set on boot, but I'm running at stock speeds. I am not overclocking and still having these problems. I'm going to try a bunch of other roms and kernels and see what my results are, it COULD be the phone it self, but I doubt it.
And thanks everyone for all the responses.

The kernel is set to default at stock setting so no need to have it set on boot. It isn't going to overclock unless you raise the cpu past 1g
google have already said that the problem its just s/w and they are going to fix it with an update and it's not the new 2.3.3! Hope it don't take much longer!!

There is a stock kernel for cm7 out that has all the voodoo engagement and ext 4 hack
I've had random reboots and it only happens to me when I'm using bluetooth.

its been over one month now and i never had such problem with mine..its running smoothly both with stock and cm7..
I experienced my first random reboot today. Installed clocksync and was fine. Today I loaded the app... screen was blank then saw the boot animation.

I experienced 2 reboots in a row trying to retrieve a service from my mobile operator. I got so frustrated ´cause the mobile operator service takes too long,
the last time I looked, elapsed 7 minutes, few minutes later, reboot...
Became afraid to call again from the nexus, not trusting anymore
wifi on, sync on, bluetooth off, gps off, it was charging with the regular charger, factory rom and kernel, not rooted, launcher pro
I also have random reboots. it's strange though, it goes to the boot animation for some time, looks like the phone reboots, then all the apps and launcher is reloaded, but if you check the phone boot time under settings -> about, the uptime is not reset.
can you guys confirm that your boot times are also no reset during the randon reboots oft he known google android software issue for nexus s?
thanks,

[Q] ] Nexus 4 restrarting several times in a day

Now it started to annoy me. I have francos kernel and Pa. Also installed the touch screen mod.
My nexus is restrarting sometimes not responding many times in a day. Restarting happens after installing an app, while playing a game, while browsing... I cant tell an exact thing. And sometimes after locking the screen it doesnt respond and reboots with holding lock button after a few seconds. Installed antivirus and nothing found. Havent tried factory reset.
Also i broke my front screen 3 months ago sent to lg and they send me my phone with new screen.
If you look your screen carefully under light you can see small circles. Mine is now different. Any ideas?
Are you undervolting too much? Increase it by +25 - +50 and see how it goes.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I don't think LG repairing the screen has to do with the restarts. Maybe you should get a log cat and post it on PA's bug site. I did that and the devs reply pretty quickly. Use Catlog from the app store have it recording and when a crash happens boot up your phone and save the logcat and upload it to PA.

Did you even have it undervolted to begin with??
I noticed you said that you have the touch screen mod, I'm assuming that you are referring to the older Synaptics driver, E015. I had a random reboot the one time I tried it (unless that was because I was simultaneously doing UV testing). If changing your voltages doesn't fix it, try reverting to the current driver. You can do this by removing the script that you are using to install it after every reboot.
+25 volt and uninstalling the mod didnt help. Restarted again while playing with drum app.
Installing log cat

Try going back to stock ROM and kernel with no apps/mods and see if the problem persists, if it does you might need an RMA, if not its a software issue

CM11 for Note3 crash problems

Hey guys,
I am testing the CM11 on my note 3 and in general its ok, but sometimes i expiriance some issues as this one for example and wanted to ask if there is a fix to it?
Basicaly the problem happens maybe once a day, but when i use the kaypad it starts to bug and you can bearly use the phone utill (in a min ir so) it crashes and eather you have to ress it or it restarts on its own as is unusable. Everything shakes and goes in to black screen.
Any ideas or solutions?
Thanks in advance

[Q] random reboots on my N10

Hi all,
for the last few days I keep having random reboots with my N10, as well as random lock-ups.
Started a few days after the 4.4.3 OTA update.
happens like this:
I'm trying to wake up my tablet with the power button but nothing happens so I have to reboot.
Or, I am just normally using my tablet ant it spontaneously reboots, without warning, and also without any kind of lockup before that.
What is really annoying is that after such a reboot the tablet is not actually usable: none of the normal autostart apps initialize properly;
flipboard doesnt refresh, calendar widget does not show any entries, mail widget does not show anything, etc etc etc.
I'm on stock 4.4.3, but rooted with SuperSU.
it did not start right after the 4.4.3 OTA, only a few days later (actually, i think on friday or saturday).
Is there a way to get into the system logs to see what is up?
...turn on auditing, maybe?
Any other suggestions that might help me? What kind of details do you need?
Hi,
It looks like someone got a possible solution. I didn't test because I don't face random reboots on my Nexus.

Hi,
It looks like the person in the other thread set it to always display on notification bar, nothing other than that... As I said I didn't test so I can't tell you how possible it is for working or anything, sorry. I just gave this solution for now, if it doesn't work then I'd have to think a bit further .

anyone else experiencing random shutdown issue

Hi there,
I have been experiencing random shutdown on my one plus 5. It happened twice in 15 mins when I was listening to Spotify on my headphones.
Not sure if it's to do with the latest update or not .
Just wondering if anyone experienced this. I have also post on the 1+ community , hoping it's just some software glitch. Overall, it's an impressive phone. Oneplus should sort out there glitches before shipping the product out tho.
Yeah software glitch maybe try resetting your phone ..haven't had random reboots on mine so every device is not having it...if you can ..then replace yours otherwise enjoy it... there's always custom Roms...btw have u updated all software updates yet

Probably a malfunctioning app, try a safe boot to see if it happens again or data factory reset.

Nope all good here.
Happened today to my phone. Weird. Didn't happen again. I guess is a software bug or an app not working well.
Update
It only happened when I was using Spotify when my headphones plugged in.
All good here as well. Hmm. Spotify? That's strange. Have you tried other apps? Like black player?

Hello, it happened to me this night, I was surprised when I woke up that my phone was on the pin-code screen. I didn't shut down my phone just put the plane mode. (4.5.5)
Happens to mine. Maybe 4-5 times since I got it. On 4.5.5.
Like, I will not use my phone, pull it out if my pocket and it'll be black, non responsive. I'm not completely sure if it's shut off already, or just non responsive, and need force shutdown.
Not much more to add than this :b
I have not experienced any random shutting down.
Any fix to that? I've had that happened to mine 7 times already since I got mine on June 26th. I've had the issue yesterday while sending a sticker on Facebook Messenger to a contact, and a couple of minutes before whilst playing Pokemon Go ... this is really borring. The last two times it happened, there was an update waiting to be installed (well, on the german servers at least, since I didn't have the update here in Belgium but once I used a proxy, I could download and install it), not this time tho.
I love the phone but my GF just told me to switch as if she has a problem or if I have a problem and can't use the phone, this would be really bad. I would prefere not to change, so if you guys have a solution, I'm all ears

That also happened to me more than twice. Not only in the night. Most time if the phone will be charged. I use only the dash charger. I didn't put it in plane mode. Strange problem. I have no idea why this happens. In this situation the alarm clock or anything else isn't working.

I don't understand why it's happening even in their 5 series. The 3 series has this stupid problem as well. Really frustrating. One Plus needs to get a grip and get rid of this glitch ASAP if they wish to remain in the game.
