Galaxy S5 G900A stock firmware Lollipop 5.0 downgrade to kitkat - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im in a bit of a dilemma. I bought a new s5 with lollipop already installed on it and decided to root it. To root i needed to downgrade it. So using Odin, i attempted a downgrade only to come to a FAIL conclusion. I tried different .tar files that were kit kat, also found rooted lollipop firmware which always failed. I tried using a pit file which didnt seem to help. I cleared the cached and wiped the system memory multiple times. The only screen i am able to see is the Downloading screen and the reboot screen (volume up, home, and power)
I guess i soft bricked my phone... is there anyway to fix this problem?
Thanks a lot

yea that i realized, but is there anyway to get my phone back to its original state? Or because the bootloader is locked, this phone is forever soft bricked?

I'm sorry what is LP firmware? If you mean stock, then I've already tried a lollipop firmware download with Odin which also always kept failing

In addition, i also tried to update the phone through an sd card using the file G900A-OF3toOI5-ota-2400258.cfg and renaming it to update.zip. Through the recovery menu, i wiped cache partition and did a factory reset. Then I applyed the update from external storage and get an Error Status 7.
This is everything i tried. Im running out of ideas and getting frustrated as this is a brand new phone

@yakmicjan But why are you using a modded version of odin ? Use a normal one , took the last version , then go to sammobile donwload the last firmware for your phone. Extract it and flash it with odin. It should work
Don't flash any pit file with it or anything , just the firmware.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app

I downloaded so many different types of odins and tried these files on all of them. The only modded version of odin is on the .exe file. I tried Odin3 v1.85, 3.10.6, 3.09. All of them gave me the same exact message.

Sadly, on sam mobile, the very last version they have for SM G900A is 4.4.2 which doesnt help since my phone already had lollipop installed on it. Does this mean i have to wait until they get a lollipop firmware for me to use my phone?

Wait i just saw "Re-partion failed" , was it ticked before the flash ? Make sure only auto reboot and Reset time are ticked.

That's why you spend time reading and learning before just jumping in without knowing anything
Send it back, hope that they fix it under warranty

Im not adding the Pit File at all. I dont know why it shows up. I'll attach proof.
By the way, its the same exact error message as above.

Im so sorry about this annoying problem and for me being such a bother. Thank you so much for trying to help me

Why are you adding anything other than just the ROM in AP?
Remove everything from ODIN, and only add the ROM in AP

Look , choose ONLY the rom which is a very big .tar file and put it in AP , that's it. Do not add anything , anything. The firmware is about 2.4/2.5 go , you flash it and that's it

HELP PLEASE!!! firmware error

OK so this is what i did. so i tried to root my s4, and in odin it said fail. so i took out the battery. and try to turn it on now it has the phone YELLOW triangle and a monitor. it says "firumware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mod in kies & try again.
what i have tried so far was download the sprint stock and odin it back. i used qbking77 . com the stock i used is linked on that website. which then links me to stockroms.net. so during the process of doing going back to stock it said fail. i read some where that in the id:com on odin, it should say 0:[COM6] and i read some where else that it does have to say com6 it could say com3. i dont know if that matters. and i also read on the forum they say to use another stock rom? is that also if so where can i get one besides from stockroms.net please someone help me..
this is what it says when i try to odin to stock:

Sounds like a bad rom download. Download the rim again or get it from a sticky on xda.
Also it doesn't matter what com port Odin puts the phone on as long as it sees it.

I have read that that download fron QBKing is bad. As a poster above me said, download the rom from XDA instead and redo the process. Also, be sure to use the usb cable that came with your phone as others can cause the same issue. Also....if it fails again, try a different usb port. Good luck

Hmm weird. Redownload the file from qbking77 and delete the extension again. Also try it with a different version of odin for example the one that qbking uses v1.85 (which is also the one I use) and pull out battery and put the battery in and manually set it to download mode and try it one more time. Btw any chance did you get a pop up in your screen saying something about an error of some kind saying about a parameter before?
Edit: Also probably restart computer just in case also.

Hi trubster, I've reset odin and my phone into download mode several times. The odin update process starts off ok but always fails when it reaches 'SYSTEM'.

What message is ODIN giving in the white text box?
have you tried re-downloading the ROM? I used the MEGA link and it worked fine.
N9005XXUENA6_N9005OXXENA5_XEO.zip is the one you need if it is for the N9005, you need the stock 4.4.2 FW before you can put CFW on

That file seems to be different, are you using a N9005?
https://mega.co.nz/#!jZYkyY5a!HfiJlXRgp_ZGWoQncFNWeEn5FnY_0i9iFb23EGfg2Nk
Thats the file I used first, put it in the PDA or AP box on odin and click start.
Should have no problems with it as it is an "Official" Sammy Rom
If you have a Hong Kong note you need to have a read around, If not, grab XEO firmware flash via odin 1.85 or 3.07

I didn't experience this on my N9005 while updating, but I experienced this before on my S3, it was due to corrupted firmware file.
Please help me!!! Please!!!

[Q] Can't flash stock ROM SPH-L720

I installed CyanogenMod 10.2.1 on my rooted Sprint S4. Upon realizing that I could no longer connect my Gear 2 watch to my phone, I would like to reset my phone to factory settings, unrooted, with the stock ROM. I followed the guide at galaxys4root.com (xda won't let me post the outside link, but it is the first result when you Google "galaxy s4 root unroot") and used all the downloads from that page. However, upon trying to flash to my phone, I receive this error in Odin:

I can then shut down my phone and reboot back into CM just fine, but I really would like to have the stock ROM back so I can use my watch. If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Alright, that was a stupid mistake on my part, I apologize. I'm downloading the L720T firmware from Sammobile now and I also downloaded Sammoblie's suggested ODIN, which is 3.09. I will post the results after the download finished and I try to flash it.

WAY 1 : ------- VERY DANGEROUS, NOT TESTED, I'M NOT REAPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE, I WARNED YOU.
You need to get TWRP recovery, then download the Utility from HERE and then mount everything, so that your computer can access your device and then put your Utility wherever you want. Then go to install and select the utility.zip and after the program opens then go to next > primary > wipe System and cache and data and dalvik cache... MAKE A BACKUP FIRST! and then go to ODIN mode and flash your OS...
WAY 2 ----- BETTER
Go to TWRP, wipe all data including system and go to ODIN mode and flash the OS, NOT TESTED ASWELL BUT TRY WITHOUT DELETING SYSTEM FIRST!!!
WAY 3 -------
Flash a custom ROM like CM... if you need help at it, ASK! I'll reply to you as soon as possible!
Good Luck!

Hmm... seems to be a very advanced error but don't worry!
WAY 4 ---------- Safest
Install newest odin and don't check anything in ODIN's settings, the rom will do all that stuff

Oh by the way you made way 3? You installed the custom rom? As a zip file? Like Cyanogen? And it took you back to recovery? What recovery do you have? And did you UNCHECK the signature check? IT'S VERY IMPORTANT

I installed Revolution HD as a zip file and i m using TWRP and yes it took me back. Zip file signature was and is unchecked. When i was installing the custom rom everything went fine with the installation of the custom rom.
And u mean with the settings F. Reset Time and other Stuff like that? And where should i put the stock rom? CSC or AP?
I tried with AP :
