Re:
Stock firmware, performance mode, 64gb, 4gb ram, stock english/international rom.
nice score did some benches today on B162 international firmware, unfortunately i couldnt reach my previous high scores in geekbench (6560) and antutu (97200). maybe i could make a completely naked / debloated firmware version just for benching purposes, so as not to take up ANY ram or cpu cycles for background stuff
btw, looking at geekbench scores, the S7 seems to be on par if not only a tad faster (less than 100 points) than the Kirin 950. good stuff

kirin 950 is a beast
but emiui is ugly and not very smooth it is ****
we need stock based google rom like cm:laugh:
I got a 94500 score with AL10 device but L29 B162 firmware. I'm not sure the antutu score clearly shows how quick this phone is. I am eager to see it opening same apps with S7 and G5. My score was just with performance mode @ battery. @rowihel2012 "Performance mod with performance with kernel " with performance mod i guess you mean the battery setting. The other part with kernel what exactly do you mean? Thank you.
download and install trickster mod, there u can change the cpu governor under general settings to performance
it also helps u save battery when changing it to powersave. thats what i do while sticking to smart battery profile

i cant believe antutu developers anymore
look at iphone 6s and even iphone 6 in the previous antutu
i mean version 5
you can clearly see those junks fall behind even galaxy s6
and look at them now in version 6
.........
After that you want from me to believe what i saw in the new version
........
Ok then please keep up with me and lets have a nerds conversation ....
first ... open your mind ... and let us see what hardware that mate 8 has
its four cortex a72 and four cortex a53 and the last mali gpu model
and what you have got is just 90k scores
while HTC M9 has more less power CPU which is
cortex 57 and cortex 53
even it has less power GPU which is
adreno 430
all of those more less power hardware
has got score more than 110k in the antutu
comeon guys give me a break from this junk benchmark

what i believe is what i saw
a lot of people with m9 got 110k like this man here
youtu.be /LADBMwHJRsc
also dont deny differences between apple product scores in version 5 and version 6
also .... why is snapdragon 810 has more scores than kirin 950
because kirin is far superior than snapdragon 810
We already discussed here on XDA about the 950 overall chip performance score.
While the pure processor performance is on par with 820 and Exynos, what actually impairs the overall score is the GPU performance which is 1/3 of the 820's, half of the Exynos's and about 2/3 of the old 810's.
the one week boint for the 950 is the gpu
but working great with all games

the way i see it, the real winner here is Trinity and our own morfic(@morfique on twitter) as Trinity for the g2x and for the nexus s is on top for both phones.

Are there other comparison benchmarks beside Quadrant? I take quadrant scores about as seriously as stories from AboveTopSecret
Also, overclocking to 1.5ghz.. What do the dual cores do when overclocked? Where are those comparisons?
Also.. Really.. Is a 1.5ghz overclock really an "every day use" type of configuration?
I'm not saying this isn't impressive but you're comparing a Mustang with a racing kit in it to it to a stock Camaro.

heres a smartbench benchmark. and no, 1.5ghz isnt a daily. its more to play with or use when gaming. as you can imagine, battery life wouldnt be the greatest. i use the Trinity 1.1ghz UV as my daily. oh, and the top g2x(dual core) quadrant benchmark is 5587, also using trinity but for the g2x. btw, thats morfics g2x with the top g2x score.
Gotcha.. Don't get me wrong.. It is impressive and I'm all about getting the most out of hardware whether it's from a phone or a PC.
Damn. Now that is impressive. I wonder what the 3D score will be like once they o overclock it. It's going to be awesome!!!!
Most of it is coming from I/O due to ext4, quadrant benchmarks are far from accurate. Anything higher then 2000 (maybe less) is SF.
Dual core phones are definitely better, as well as their GPUs. I can run most of the tegra 2 games just fine tho.
look at that I/O score clearly nexus s it king
1.5 on single core is not faster than 1ghz dual core
Sgs2 ATM is best android out...period it doesn't need ext4 exploit to score 4700 on quadrant

The Sgx540 beats the Geforce ulp gpu in the Tegra 2.
So there is no reason that it wouldn't work.

not saying its not impressive...your CPU OC is impressive that's about it
And only seen a handful of nexus S that can handle these speeds so to say nexus s is still king based on this is laughable im sorry thats my opinion
cant believe androidcommunity made an article on this
also removing the FPS cap on the kernel doesn't do anything for games the screen refresh rate cant handle such high FPS so you dont even see these extra frames when gaming all you're doing is killing your battery
tegra 2 dual core has a huge advantage on gaming.
Just becasue you gain a better score on a benchmark the tegra has an extra core to take some of workload in 3d rendering thats why games like Riptide run great on tegra and slow on our sgx540
im not bashing you simms i respect you and everything you do for the community just think you have a misunderstanding how things are working

i hope that you dont think that i think that a quadrant is an accurate snapshot of this situation, because i dont. quadrant is only meant to benchmark a single core, it even makes the field even between single and dual cores because of that. but, since the community likes to use quadrant as a "standard" for benching, ill throw these benchmarks up to look at. kinda like looking at a freak of nature, not being able to take your eyes off. anyways, since people like to use quadrants to compare android penises, the nexus s has the biggest(for now).
I get what you're saying and were you're coming from. I wont but in anymore enjoy you 1.5ghz wish my phone could run that speed

Quandrant scores are not a good way to judge device performance. This article explains it all:
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-cheat-android-benchmarks
As the article explains, the big give away is the length of the I/O part of the bar in the OP picture, which shows that the phone has manipulated quadrant benchmark into providing a higher score.
It is still pretty neat to see a +5000 quadrant score, even if it doesn't really mean much.
Like I said, anything higher then 1800-2000 is a fake score.
I can run riptide gt just fine with a 1.3ghz overclocked CPU btw

anything higher than 1800-2000 is a fake score??? then you havent ever been oc'ed to 1.3ghz.. never. btw, at stock speeds you should be getting 2300-2600. what phone are you using? my oc'ed original droid gets 1800-2100

Those scores are not faked although I do understand that quadrant is not the best barometer for benchmarking. On my Nexus S, stock, I get around 2100. With my G2x, stock, I get about 2700 (and that's mounted on the crappy ext3 filesystem). When using an ext4 kernel my score jumps to 3500.

A point of correction. The SGS2 out of the box is mounted as ext4, which is why it scores great on Quadrant. It's also clocked @ 1.2ghz. 4700 is a bit high for a stock SGS2, its typically around 3700 which is certainly nothing to sneeze out.
I'm curious to know if anyone has incredible results

Are the 3D benchmarks limited to ±58fps (the refresh rate of the screen)? Is there any v-sync off setting that could unleash the power and give better results?

what's your configuration? I tried with 1.7ghz, aggressive task killer in sistem tuner app, 2048mb cache on sd and noop setted in I/O scheduler section.. the score is around 6900-7000 points

Check your voltages, try to reduce it to 1325-1350 for 1.7 (default is 1450). That'll help it run cooler, and make it less likely to lock up.
But that said, you may just have an Exynos chip that is not happy at that speed, there is no guarantee that they can all do 1.7.

Quadrant
Linpack
Antutu
CF-Bench
SunSpider

And here's a fairly recent benchmark of the Droid Razr with some other phones...you can use this as rough basis of comparison.

TL;DR: The Note really kicks ass when you crank up the clocks!
@croak I have tested your same combination rom/kernel and for now seems the best! with performance gov and cpu set to 1.7ghz the score is very higher in all tests
our note is one of the most promising device, estimating that the development is just at the beginning point
What's going to be amazing is how fast the upcoming A15-based Exynos will be. Clock for clock, it's supposed to be 20% faster than A9 cores. And they will be shipping at 2Ghz!
I expect that the A15 Exynos dual-core will outperform a quad-core Tegra 3 and use a lot less power doing it. And it'll be cheaper to make.

One of the 3 can not be right. If it outperform a quadcore hardly will be needing less power. If it needs less power hardly will outperform quadcores and at end if both are true then no way to be cheaper!!!!

Post your benchmarks here, and no "benchmarks are meaningless", we know that already (though some more and some less).
As far as i can tell 3D performance is on point, absolutely zero lag in console-like games like "oddworld" with full graphics, which is great and promising.

@gadjet can you tell me which firmware (region and customization) do you use)? This is maximum from me right now :crying: And can you place ss from cpuz please; I want to see how fast run s810 at youre device; 1,56 Ghz an mine, and gsmarena write 2ghz?!
edit: strange things happens; now I enter again in cpuz and see tottaly different picture...and shure the better score! (3rd and 4th picture uploaded now)! Any ideas?!
His Proday please find attached, got a 2nd Z5C due to camera blur issue and newv antutu score
Cutting down on processes and uninstalling stuff definitely helps the score.
Just got my Z5C (Central European distribution - namely Czech Republic). Messed around a bit but was not overwhelmed by extraordinary performance. Slight lags here and there, not very impressed.
Ran the Antutu, it gave me quite a poor 53500 score, so I have no idea how you guys squeeze such a high scores from it. Seem like heavily throttled. Do I have an early revision?
Device part number - 1299-1434 Rev1
Customization - 1298-7258
UPDATE: Strange thing, inserted sim card, rebooted, ran again and got 62400, another run 59700.
@OtaruM i think that you have same problem as I. I have flashed firmware for central europe (with flashtool) on mu device and sometimes processor woark on 1.55ghz instead 1.96. Look at my photos higher, install cpu-z and check what happens.
@gadjet really impressive score. Which firmware region do you use?

Hi,
Today it is the second day I am using my z5 Compact. I noticed some lags, so I ran some Benchmarks. Also I noticed, that my Device is running max 1.5Ghz like someone mentioned before.
Devcheck, CPU-z and CPU Times are reporting a 1.5 GHz CPU.
Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
Antutu 5.7.1
z5 compact E5823
64bit mode benchmark: 65203 points
ROM version: 32.0.A.4.11
Devcheck also reporting max 1.55 Ghz, governor interactive, I/O cfq.
Not sure if devcheck might only show the frequency of the 4 A53 cores and not the 2ghz of the 4 A57 cores. Or Sony has done some underclocking to address the battery life and overheating issues of the 810. In any case, the benchmark result is pretty good and battery life as well as heat is satisfying (using it now for one week).
The A57 run at 2.0GHz. A53 run at 1.55GHz.

Did anyone try the new v6 Antutu Benchmark?
In normal use and room temperature I only get around 65000 result, which according to the comparison table is far below the listed Z5. Only if I put the phone in my freezer and Bench it in there I can just match the 74k, that the normal Z5 is listed at.
Not too impressed to be honest.
I work in retail and a customer came into the store this morning with a Z3 on 5.1.1 Lollipop. It actually felt snappier than my Z5 Compact. Don't know how that's possible. Sony need to sort out the software optimisation because having an older phone that feels snappier than the new phone is illogical. I'm guessing Sony's software is not properly optimised for the big.LITTLE architecture of the Snapdragon 810. Marshmallow hopefully will fix this!

The firmware update isn't just security update.
It did update the security to 01.08, but added few more features, including samsung cloud, new gallery app from note 7, and new mali GPU drivers, r12p1 (which support opengl v3.2).
If you have the exynos model, check this thread for more info:

Because what written on the changelog is what samsung officially wrote.
Just read the last 3-4 pages of this thread, you'll get the information.
By the way, Why is it so important to you?
I mean, why do you care about the support for V3.2?
The driver work better and get better benchmark scores, but I don't see any app that demand V3.2 for it to work.

Yes i saw that.....well i know that there's no app or any game requires opengl v3.2 but you will see the difference in the gpu benchmark definitely coz the note 7 exyonos (mali t880) having opengl v3.2 scores around 46000 in case of 3d benchmark but my s7 edge having open gl v 3.1 scores around 41000...so i think both the devices have same processor but different results in 3d benchmark.....Hence it concludes that gpu version may affect the overall benchmark score. Btw i dont get august update coz of ****in delay by bell in canada..so i will wait and test it in future whether there is an improvement in 3d benchmark score or not.

You have the Snapdragon version, right?
BTW, samsung DVFS make the actual gaming performance of this phone crap. Don't trust benchmark.
Without custom kernel (ImageBreaker), DVFS limits the cpu clock after few minutes of gameplay. Games that are more intensive, work really bad.
For exynos users like me, the only solution is ImageBreaker kernel, or set the governor to performance.

Well i am also an exynos user and my s7 edge is not rooted yet..you know thats the main reason for not rooting my device till now coz the gaming lag increases badly incase of custom roms/kernel..

Who told you that nonsense?
It's the other way around...
Stock kernel is really bad gaming performance wise.
Just try to play NFS No Limits, Or tekken 6 using PPSSPP. The lag is horrible, from the first second.
That was the main reason for rooting my phone, and now I've discovered so many great features only available after rooting/replacing rom and kernel.
Believe me, you won't regret it. It's your call.

And please no jealousy nagging, haters gonna hate!
please remove this topic, bragging about a single benchmark is really for child

as i already stated in the OP: haters gonna hate
i for one think this really mirrors the real life performance of this CPU: its just way smoother than everything else out there naturally, software also plays a vital role here @Laggy touchwiz ^^
Yes but CPU is one side of the medal software the other.. U have nothing from an powerful CPU/GPU power when your phone hast an bad programmed OS/software but huawei did an good job.. Cheers

No, but really, saying that a CPU is better than others for a SINGLE test in a SINGLE benchmark is crap
ehi look here! the Exynos 8890 has the best score in single thread! it must be so powerful

/sarcasm
don't forget that there's also the GPU, the ram and the storage speed, how it compares vs the other devices?
I'm happy with my Mate 8 and the Kirin 950, is a pretty powerful and efficient cpu, but it's not the best
it IS the best cpu i wasnt talking about ram, gpu or storage (although, funnily, the gpu compute benchmark suite in geekbench 4 shows higher scores than the S7 ), only the cpu. and in that regard, the kirin 950/955 inches its way onto the no. 1 spot. and im talking multicore performance, not single core [emoji14]
besides, cpu performance is actually the main contributing factor (on the hardware side) for everyday operational smoothness. gpu isnt the bottleneck outside of games and ram reaches a performance plateau extremely fast, beyond which theres barely any performance boost. as for storage, that doesnt come into the picture unless ure working with either huge/super complex apps (mostly not the case) or during boot (lots of small file size iops required).
so....yeah. i rest my case ^^

Great CPU doesn't make up for bad ui decisions from Huawei. Huawei is their own bottleneck.
Everyone wants to be iphone still. Previous fan of meizu.

Not really. Both xiaomi and meizu looks like samsung phones. Meizu even doing the edge.

lol, that is a matter of taste. its all about cpu performance here and no matter what emui looks like, its smoothness is definitely better than others...
