There's an option in Kingroot settings to unroot. Click it, and it's done.

So what are the downsides to this? Will we not have kernel or modem access? I have an s4 with custom recovery at the moment but am looking to trade for a vzw Moto x if we can rom. I like the smaller size of the x

Depending of the device. I'm working on an update to add security steps in order to check if the recovery has been correctly installed.
Non-official custom recovery (especially for Sony devices) are not reliable and the installation may fail even if there RecoverX says it's complete.
Moreover, depending of the device, you have to hold volume +, or to tap the screen on boot. Details in the first post.
Try to go in /system/bin and tell me if there is a file called "recovery.tar".
Ps : on my device, i'm perfectly able to download unofficial cwm
File is present in /system/bin. Already tried other button combinations. I always end in bootloop.
Will wait for the update. Thanks, dev!

Does it worked for anyone else guys ???
This is interesting. I reflashed stock rom again via pc comp then installed the recovery using this and was succesful. But i lost it after flashing mount fiz for tx and selected no on getting stock recovery before reboot. Same thing happened when i flash the original recovery installer before. It always happens after the mount fix.
Sent from my LT29i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Great ! The app works well. For the issue of mount fix, it's due to the unofficial custom recovery. Do you know a stable custom recovery for your device ?
Oh yes please, boss! I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I was able to download the recovery. It also installed correctly on the right folders in /system. But i can't reboot to recovery. Always end up in bootloop and i tried various button combinations thougj i know that it should be multiple presses on vol -. Weird though is that it reads the busybox in xbin and not in bin folder. This is in chargemon file in cache.

You need to Google Odin 3.09 and there is a website called Sam mobile that has the latest firm updates. Go to the web site and in the search box type 19505 and choose your country. It will take about 4 hours to download. After it downloads use Odin from a PC to flash it to your phone. There is tons of step by step instructions to use Odin on the wrb. Also could search Odin on XDA.
So you first put the phone in download mode then flash the official firmware using odin?

Anyone knows why it doesn't work or what I'm doing wrong?

Best bet, run the usual restore to Lollipop factory image using the guides on this forum, and then try to unlock. It will probably work then. You should have unlock before you installed the experimental beta release of Marshmallow ?

Here's how I got mine to finally work. I flashed back to LP and than fastboot erased and flashed twrp 2.0.7 or one of the older LP ones. Try that.. That's how I got it anyway. I also downloaded a fresh one.. Not sure if that did anything but.. If you try and fastboot boot the recovery and get a btb error( I was) I was told that the boot IMG was messed up to get that error? Don't know.
Wow after 2 hours of softbrick I got it to work, did my nand backup and now going to look for a good cm13 rom.
I had to get a certain twrp recovery I found on YouTube and not the latest version from their website.
