[NEWS] CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1 is upon us!

Here it is, even if we are all craving for the new CM9, we might still have to hang on to this for a while!
As usual:
"Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package."

I'm flashing it now, but I haven't seen any changelog or anything for it... Will this also be the final CM7 release? Also, normally when flashing a new CM7 nightly you didn't have to reset data at all, why do we have to now?

Is there a big difference between this one and the 7.1? I've searched for a change log that actually makes any sense but failed to do so.

What do you mean? The download was fine...its when I installed it, it wouldn't boot up. I got the infamous Kernel Panic Upload screen. Are you saying that the zip was a complete file and because of that I got Kernel Panic?

I'm saying that I downloaded it from website but when I tried to open it I got an error, then I downloaded it with torrent (on the top of download page there's torrent's page link) and I opened it successfully. I didn't flashed it so I'm not sure of your problem, but of course my file was broken

Oh ok.
Yea...mine "installed" and bricked my phone. Spent the next 2 hours trying to fix the damn thing. I'm back on CM7.1 and I doubt I'll be sticking around with it (and Android) for much longer. Too many problems with this crap

Hey...Friends. im just rooted my atrix and installed cwm recovery..and i want to install a custom rom my present atrix running on Android 2.3.6 and Build Number is 4.5.141..can i install Alien Rom or any other roms please guide me through...thanks

I would suggest trying out cyanogenmod 7 (link below) first to get used to flashing a new rom. The installation steps are quite straightforward and you will have lots of fun (!!) flashing all the roms on offer.

Does it say unlocked in red in the top left hand corner of the boot screen when you turn the phone on?

Then you aren't unlocked. You should probably read the Atrix stickies to get up to date on everything and read the links members put up for you in this thread. If you still have trouble, I will be glad to help.

Remember to be very carefull when unlocking the bootloader, and flashing a rom for the first time, it can brick your phone. Good luck!

I'am also and noob, but this is what I did to instal CM7 Rom. Don't forget to back up your stuff.

Follow the instruction.
After this download superuser from market and then root manager. Open root manager and select Flash ClockworkMod recovery, it will download CWM and CWM will be flashed. Open root manager again and select back up your current ROM, it will ask confirmation and then reboot and do its thing and again reboot. After that download the rom you want to flash and copy it to your internal SD card (don't unzip it, copy the zipped file). Go to the ROM manager and select Install rom from the SD card and select the rom you just copied. It will ask confirmation and then reboot and do its magic and you will have your ROM installed

use the unlock method in the pudding thread google atrix pudding --scroll down to the at&t unlock sbf
use rsd lite and "fastboot" to unlock the bootloader be sure you installed android sdk properly first on ya pc

I just got this update and installed it. The only change that I see so far is in the About tablet screen they added in the "FCC ID" and "IC". Android version still reads 4.1.1.

So who has the file name or url from google?

I got the prompt too. After I agreed to it, phone rebooted into recovery and said failed to continue or something. Now when I check, there is no more update.

I assume you are running a "custom" recovery (clockwork)? This is why it failed. Only way to install will be to flash back to stock recovery as someone above mentioned. Probably not even worth the trouble.

Yep. I think I will restore the stock recovery since I won't be doing any kernel/rom flashing for a while. Stock rom is very stable.

I received this update on both of my N7's and I can't tell what it changed other than the about screen.

What changed on the about screen?

View my post on the first page for the pic of the new about.
If you want to force the update you can go into settings apps all and force stop "Google Services Framework" then clear the data on it. Exit settings then go back in and system update and its there

They seem to have added an FCC ID field and an IC field. Screenshot attached.

Anyone mind letting me know how to flash back to stock recovery? Is there a stock recovery img that I just flash in CMW? I'd like to retain root but still be able to perform future updates.

My update failed and I'm able to swipe up on the bottom bar for Google. I wonder if that fuction was there initially.

As @Viper The Ripper said, It's for GT-S5830 and not GT-S5830i
Its for Cooper and not Cooperve. The reason being that Cooperve doesn't have proper sources because of non snapdragon CPU

Well, it won't install regardless of recovery (5.0.2.6 or the new ones 6.0 and higher). Anybody else facing the same problem?

Tried on CWM 6.x & 5.x and TWRP 2.7.0.0

Same thing happend to me, tried to make a log but an ADB said that it is waiting for device but the device wasn't found because it was stuck in that white (I see a blue ) screen. Simply, the screen before bootloader.

I have flashed androidarmv6 kernel and actually it's booting ^^

Nice...I hope that one day you will make this rom fully working. I see that I won't send you a log. There is a trouble between a phone and laptop but I will need to find where. First, I restore my backup to see if it was an error in rom or in drivers or wherever. But few weeks ago I did a log for you at other rom so let's see if it will be working at CM11.
Well, error was in your rom somewhere...I had USB debugging on even in your rom but phone didn't connect to laptop.

Pekné vidieť niekoho zo Slovenska po Slovensky ale nie nie si...Nice to see someone from Slovakia and with Slovak language but no you're not alone....It boots but Systemui is force closing...I would not recommend it for now...Developer is working hard on developing so let's wait for final result.
