Complete removal of stock hotspot/tethering app - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on stock s5 rom and I have been looking to completely remove the stock hotspot/tethering app. On my HTC, all I have to do is use titanium backup to remove the tethering app and it's gone. I haven't been able to duplicate this method with the s5. Any one have any idea of how to do this? Thanks

Only with root
Hello and thank you for using Q/A,
you can remove a system app, if you have root access. Only with root.
Kind regards

[Q] How to uninstall factory app ?

Hi Guys,
I want to remove some app provided with VRZ notes 3 by default.
i'm talking about amazon, backup and other.
any possible way to do it ?
Thanks in advance.
PS: i did root it already but still impossible to remove.
I typically disable or freeze them, but I believe (not fully positive as I haven't tried it on the note 3) that you can use ROM Toolbox Pro or Titanium Backup to uninstall the system apps.
@Diocat, thanks will give it a try and get back for the results.
Beside I've learn that the bootloader has not been released yet by VRZ, so i guess we won't be able to get a custom rom installed until then!?

[Q] Can I delwte bloat myself when rooted?

I have done a lot of reading trying to learn the rooting world.
One thing is unclear to me, once rooted can I delete bloat ware apps as I please? I know many roms delete the bloat but if I stayed on the stock rom can I delete apps that I am not able to delete unrooted? If so, is there a guide for how to do so? Thanks.

Not without a helper app like Titanium Backup ROOT. And I would strongly suggest you backup everything first, just in case you delete a program that you really need.

I use root explorer and just delete the apk's manually. Works the same I would guess.

Or you can manually rename them.

I use Root Explorer and copy the apps that I'm deleting (over 100) to my computer then delete them from the system.

Debloat script for Lollipop stock rom?

Hey note 3 forum
i just rooted my wifes note 3 (n9005) and was searching for a debloat script that i could run to remove all that samsung bloatware.
unfortunately i wasnt able to find a up to date script for lollipop
the best i could find was that list of apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470862
i wanted to avoid intalling a new rom or going through titanium backup to freeze apps one by one
so is there anything i havent found?
thanks in advance!
You'd be better off using Titanium to manually remove anything you don't want. One person's bloat is another person's essential app. Besides, it only takes a few minutes.
Wise words. However, is there a safe list of apps we can freeze/uninstall with TB?

N9005 bloatware....

Hi guys,
With so much information on this forum, that I like, is difficult to search....
Is there a safest way to remove bloatware on Note 3 N9005 without root or tripping KNOX?
I want my phone to stay official....
Thank you!
Only by deleting apps you installed or disabling stock apps .
Both via the delete bin .
only disabling apps in app manager but sometimes its very useful
this are the safest ways?
i thought about that....with debloater or other apps must be root and knox is tripping... am i right?
Also, there is a list with the Android 5.0 bloatware for 2015?
I found only for KK from 2013....
For me, tripping knox is not a big deal if there is no warranty left on the phone.
Rooting and Titanium Backup is a good combination for removing or freezing apps.
No, without root you can't do any meaningful thing, as simple as that.
thank you guys,
i used Application Manager from phone and turned off all the apps that i'm not using, i think this is the best way to be safe (i still have warranty)...

S7 edge ios smileys

Hello everyone,
Is it possible to have the iOS smileys on my phone without root?
Or if that isn't possible can I install the needed files and/or programs to have the smileys, and then remove the root but keep the smileys?
Thanks
You could root install the emoji and unroot as long as you kept dm-verity disabled. But why do you want to unroot after the installation.

Just install Textra messaging app. And then it's IOS emoj add on from play store. Then chose IOS emoj style in Textra settings.
