Hi guys,
With so much information on this forum, that I like, is difficult to search....
Is there a safest way to remove bloatware on Note 3 N9005 without root or tripping KNOX?
I want my phone to stay official....
Thank you!
Only by deleting apps you installed or disabling stock apps .
Both via the delete bin .
only disabling apps in app manager but sometimes its very useful
this are the safest ways?
i thought about that....with debloater or other apps must be root and knox is tripping... am i right?
Also, there is a list with the Android 5.0 bloatware for 2015?
I found only for KK from 2013....
For me, tripping knox is not a big deal if there is no warranty left on the phone.
Rooting and Titanium Backup is a good combination for removing or freezing apps.
No, without root you can't do any meaningful thing, as simple as that.
thank you guys,
i used Application Manager from phone and turned off all the apps that i'm not using, i think this is the best way to be safe (i still have warranty)...

Hey guys I was wondering if I can get some help. I recently rooted my s5 via Geohots method and sometime in between then and now I only got round to checking my knox counter and all my info. I've only installed a few apps. (SuperSU. Root browser and titanium bk) I had sd maid installed before and installed lucky patcher the other day. Now I have a custom status (not sure if this occurs straight after root of after some app installz) even tho knox is still at 0 is there a reason for this status change? Anyway to return it to official? . Thanks a lot hope for some help. Cheers

It's reporting custom because you have in fact changed it to custom i.e. not stock. You can use an xposed module or similar program to fake the message so that it shows as official if you want to. Or alternately remove your root, etc so that SysSCOPE will see that you are 100% stock and report it as such. I'd prefer the former option myself or simply not worry about it saying custom.

I was playing around with Wanam Xposed's System Holo Dark Background which caused my device status to show as Custom in both download mode and booting, and have since disabled it which puts it back to official.
My questions are:
1. Will this affect my Knox status?
2. How do I check my Knox status?
3. Will anything in Xposed trip Knox?
I'm just trying to get information on how to not trip knox. As far as I've researched, I can't flash kernels, no custom recovery, no roms (except for in safestrap) downgrade, no bootloader unlocks, and pretty much the only thing I can do is flash a stock OFW via ODIN if I ever wanted to remove root or something. Thanks.
Edit: SuperSU disabling knox means it disables the corporate security stuff linked to emails and whatnot, not the flag/efuse itself, correct?

No, it shouldn't affect your Knox status. You can check Knox using some apps on the Play store... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo is a good, simple one, that also shows the Knox counter. As for anything in Xposed, not sure. I wouldn't think so, but I only use one or two apps for it. Honestly, I don't use it most of the time, as it has caused me more problems than it's worth.

+1 for above reply. Also, a quick search of the forums for the VZW S5, has many repeat similar posts for questions just like this with the same answers.

Ah, I totally forgot about phone info since it didn't work on my previous phone. Yeah I have a bunch of stuff from Xposed as on my previous phone, I had AOKP and tended to change a bunch of stuff, although I've noticed a lot of things on Xposed has not been made fully compatible with the S5 yet.

I guess my searching skills suck then. When searching for "Verizon S5 Knox checker", Google shows root methods (because they're listed as not tripping knox). When searching in this subforum for "knox check", all I see is one other thread about unlocking the bootloader. "check knox" returns nothing. "Knox status" doesn't bring up anything useful either. Searching for "Xposed Knox" shows some root tutorial thread that tells me that disabling knox doesn't trip the counter which I knew already, and not much about Xposed tripping knox.
Am I using the search wrong or something?
Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before, search didn't answer the question for my specific case....
I have an S5 G900F currently still on 4.4.2, I have rooted using towelroot following link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/tut-root-tripping-knox-t2803951
I installed also xposed framework and a bunch of modules to get rid of those pesky popups samsung implemented.
I would like to check for and install new ota updates, question is what will happen with the setup above?
Will it work, will I lose root, will I lose all xposed modules and settings, will it brick my phone, ...
Thanks!
B
Seems that everyone says that they have searched although we know that most people really didn't. Glad you tried searching, although it's difficult to understand how you didn't trip over numerous threads where your exact questions have been asked and answered before.
Anyway, most updates will remove root and may mess up a lot of apps that require root. It's best to apply updates manually with Odin, rather than accept them OTA. If you insist on automatic updates, then you should buy an app like mobile odin pro or super su pro that will try to regain root after an update is applied.

Had a lot of problems with xposed and it's modules messing with some samsung apps, for example s-health went mental, wouldn't open and slowed the phone down to a crawl, as I own the gear fit it wasn't good for me to keep it on, had to roll back, personally I don't think theres a huge difference between the two firmwares, i'd say if you're happy then keep your phone the way it is. At least until 4.4.4. is releaed.
Hi
Im looking a stock rom 5.0.1 for my Galaxy S4 i9500 which is rooted and without knox.
Can someone recommend such rom?
Alternatively, is there a way to install 5.0.1 root without tripping knox?
All Android 5.0.1 ROMs from Samsung come with Knox, without exception. It's not possible to root these ROMs without tripping Knox.
Ok but there are roms that de-knoxed.

Whilst reading through the PingPong root post under the s6 section the guys referred to a rooting app called kingroot, which can be used for other phones. Have seen some people with some success on other phone makes and also some with no success. Then some people complain that the app asks for many permissions, but at the end of the day its a choice you must make.
I tried the app which should be a one click type root, but when launching it is shows a icon with a lightning bolt next to it with Chinese text I cant read. So I dont know what the issue is with it. Im running lollipop which I understand this app "should" be able to root.
@dbenyakar: Custom ROMs do come de-Knoxed. However, you asked about stock ROMs. Moving the goalposts just a bit?
@Hhunted: Kingoroot I don't believe works on Android 5.x. CF-AutoRoot, if I recall correctly, is the only root method available for devices on Android 5.x, and it will trip Knox.
Ok then I will rephrase my question. Is there a custom rom, 5.0.x, which is as close as possible to stock that is rooted and de-knoxed?
The reason Im asking is because I see many roms that are heavily customized with s6 or note4 ports but with bugs in the basic functionlity such as FCs when trying to make calls etc.
Why not making a simple rom which will be as close as possible to stock first and if stable then try all other customizations.

Probably not, because what you ask for can be accomplished after rooting using tools that strip the unwanted files out or manually with the aid of a list of apps that can be safely removed.
Hi all,
I'm on a Sprint S8 running PartCyborgRom. More and more apps that I use are no longer usable, and I'm guessing because my phone doesn't pass SafetyNet.
I use a lot of root apps and Xposed modules to customize the phone and disable bloat.
Have any of you just bit the bullet and upgraded to an Oreo ROM without Root? What are your workarounds for not having Root? I've used BK Disabler before. Are there other Knox apps to do other Root-like functions?
I'm definitely thinking about jumping to a different phone, but I think my only option for a fully rootable phone on Sprint is getting a Pixel 3 right from Google...
Without root and Titanium Backup, what are you using to backup and restore app data?
ANY thoughts on the dilemma would be great.

Logic would suggest to weigh the options. Which do you need more,The apps that wont work,Or root.
If you need the said app update. If you need root more stay rooted Til a better device comes along

I use Adhell 3 to disable bloat and block ads. Apart from that, I also have GoodLock and various other customization apps from the Galaxy Store. I don't really feel the need for root anymore.
Used to use a Oneplus 2 before this. Used several ROMs, even developed for the phone. Felt the need to root because Oxygen OS at that point didn't offer much.
But with Touchwiz, I already have all the features I need.
I have been rooting all my Android phones since old Samsung s2.
But for s8, i have been using for 1.5 years without rooting. There are a lot of alternative apps around for non root s8.
The upside is able to use apps that pass safety net etc.
The only downside is unable to use twrp backup. But since its not root, its quite safe and stable. Will not get bootloop and unable to boot into phone etc.
I may flash to BQL1 to trial-run without root.
Considered jumping to a Pixel 3, but as far as hardware goes, it looks a bit inferior to the S8.
