At the second thread its for HTC incredible, i hope you didnt flashed anything from there right?
Honestly i have no idea what you can do, but trying to eliminate some of the cases..
EDIT: you should try the first method ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470207&page=3 ) when using this files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3pqceuaqsji0dqn/nvR20mLqMF
if that what you did and it didn't worked im guessing that flashing the firmware wont help, but there are wiser people than me to help you, just wait for their input

did your phone totally bricked when you did it? or you can still go to the download mode?
cause mine is totally can't on.
Do you have the LG bootlogo coming up, if so try this:
(Something similar happened to mine, and I hope this will help.)\
Turn off phone, then when off, hold down power and volume down button until it reaches the LG logo and then release and hold it down again, if that doesn't work, when just hold it down until you see a screen that says something like: Hard reset/ factory reset. For me it took me to my recovery screen, where I just flashed a older ROM onto it, and you should be fine. I then later flashed a recovery file. I hope this helps, and if you need it any clearer, just reply :fingers-crossed:
If it's saying usb not recongized I'd recommend installing the proper drivers for your specific model. Which model do you have since you didn't specifying? Also, dead or charged your phone should boot download mode with volume up being held and plugging the phone in via usb to your computer.

If it's Verizon, follow that posted method above correctly. Check for correct com port numbers and make sure replacing the dll file your in the c: drive and not just in your download folder.

I have the D802, I already installed the drivers.
If I'm going to go to download mode, It says USB not Recognized and my phone is completely off.
I don't have too much experience with that model so hopefully someone else spying has more information. Sorry buddy.
There is no bootlogo at all? Not even when you turn it on? Try plugging it into a wall charger and if anything happens, also try changing your COM # to 41, if it isn't its Device Manager<Ports (COM & LPT), right click< properties< port settings< advanced..< COM 41, this was from this article I will link right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Hope this helps :good:

How did you fix it?
Those experiencing this problem could try this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7zbs6of_4I
Btw, you should share the solution for those who are in the same situation.
In brief:
The N4 is stuck on the whirling circles during boot. It is likely due to some broken bit of hardware. I would like to determine where it's stuck. After that I can decide if repair is possible or if I don't need that feature and it can be skipped one way or another or toss the brick altogether.
In full:
While out of town S.O. dropped the phone and the digitizer shattered. She said the screen appeared to still work, but no input was possible. She ordered a new digitizer and dumped it on me to repair, little realizing the difficulty of replacing only the digitizer. Still, I gave it the ol' college try on a slow day at work, heating the glass shards to yield the glue and get them off the screen. After installing new digitizer I was not surprised that I had damaged the screen and just a few colored stripes displayed.
So I ordered and installed a digi/lcd assembly and I now have a functioning screen and digitizer. The problem is the system won't completely boot and is stuck on the infamous whirling circles. I am fairly certain that during boot some device is being queried and is broken, and the boot has no timeout to skip it and move on. I would like to know where it's stuck. I *think* the way to do that is to somehow direct kernel messages out the phone's USB so I can use PuTTY to display them on a workstation. I do not know how to do that. If there's some other way, like getting the messages to display on the phone's screen, I don't know that either. Hence my post.
The techie bits:
Long story short here's a summary of relevant actions I've done so far.
Phone still goes into the mako bootloader and I can use fastboot.
Used TWRP recovery to wipe everything (including itself)
Flashed factory 4.4.2 OS
Reinstalled TWRP recovery and had it root for me
I now have two ways to access the phone - fastboot when in the stock mako bootloader, and adb when I fire up TWRP.
Now what can I do to find where the system boot is hanging? Suggestions welcome.
first thing to look at - proximity / light sensors connector . phone will not boot if they are disconnected from mainboard.

I will check that. Thanks for the reply.
Edit: I just checked, and you were right on the money. The tab with the connector for that device had flipped under the mainboard so I didn't connect it. All fixed now and I have a working phone. I owe you a couple beers. Thanks.
Hi, you are lucky
I have a similar problem.
Yesterday i restarted my phone and >problem, stuck at X-boot-logo<
Already tried different roms.
Can get into fastboot-mode and therefore can have ADB with CMW-recovery.
I replaced my screen a few months ago.
Already checked proximity sensor cable.
btw:
at the beginning, one time I got it to "optimizing apps...", but it was stuck at "starting apps"
How can I see if my proximity/light sensor is dead?
can I use the Nexus 4 serial?
Any other solution?
Regards
You can try to downgrade to stock 4.2 android, phone most likelly will boot, but looks like you have lost your IMEI.

OK, I'll try to go back to 4.2.
Anything I can do if I really lost IMEI?
I think you could be right.

OK, 4.2 booted successfully
Thanks.
but phone does not connect to network.
IMEI seems to be lost (*#06# shows nothing for imei)
What do you think about restoring IMEI with dd-command from "somewhere"?
take a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/LG_Nexus_4/Partition_Layout
do you have baseband version unknown too ?
if yes, first I would try dd mmcblk0p1 (modem / radio.img) and only after that next step would be m9kefs1/mmcblk0p8 , m9kefs2/mmcblk0p9 = IMEI
this is only speculation, never tried that ...

no baseband too.
imei empty, not zero
I don't think dd mmcblk0p1 would be useful as it is only the radio.img.
You can find it in the stock image
The first step now is backupping the efs-partitions
do you mean directly writing IMEI to it?
I can try to copy the IMEI(or all partitions) from my brother's phone to mine
Thx
don't hurt to try dd modem partition first, maybe it's corrupted in some way ... why it's unknown ?
Hello all,
usually i deal with my problems by searching the forum, though this time i am really worried as i cant find anything to my help.
You see something went bad with the screen and because the phone is rooted, i cant get it fixed (it is still in warranty), nor can i use it (the touch sucks).
So i am trying to get it unrooted.
So i have downloaded LG mobile support tool and the drivers, i enter the phone to download mode and nothing happens. i get all the time errors. Also, in the lg mobile support tool, i see a software update. Should i do it? I cant though because the start upgrade button is greyed out, and the "LGD802" sign on the left pane is flushing like its trying to verify my g2. Also, should i wait for like 10 minutes or so when i enter download mode for the bar seen at the phone to be completed before the whole process? Lastly, the most of times the lg mobile support tool crashes on the pc.
Please help me folks... :/

Where did you buy it, it sounds like the symptoms of a frankenphone. There is a post about it, some sellers flash d802 firmware on a d800 and it causes similar problems with screen, IDK about the LG mobile flash tool.

If you are brave enough you could try taking it apart and swabbing all the conections, I don't know if that would help but some people say it helps them. And the screen could just be faulty, you never no, before I took it apart I would try reflashing rom, doing the stock touch firmware update thing, then if it still don't work try flashing a kdz for the model number physically inside your phone not the one in the system info, and then I would take it fully apart, and put it back together then if it don't work, replace the screen.
the thing is i cant really interact with the screen to reflash the rom, its inresponsive. and my lg mobile support tool randomly crashes i hook my phone up the pc and it starts the download drivers part

Try a different computer, you could use a USB otg cable to hook a mouse up to your phone if your having issues with touch screen to reset it.
try in different pc and differenrt dll
so i went through the steps indicated in the XDA thread linked below, and having done this before with my other samsung (s4) the steps seemed familiar enough... except that after flashing the boot image with ODIN, instead of rebooting the phone gives me the following error message:
"Bootloader exception
RST_STAT = 0x10000000
....more stuff here....
Exception: do_handler_sync: unkown (esr: 0x2000000=
....now the phone only boots up to the point where it shows that error message! it doesn´t even switch off... all i can do is reboot with the vol down + home+ power combo but then i return to that screen...
is the phone bricked for good or is there a way out of this?
Thx

Are you able to get into download mode? By pressing volume down+power+home button? If yes then flashing latest stock firmware using odin may help you to overcome this issue..Or you can try samaung smart switch application on your pc and emergency recovery software can be done..If you need any help regarding this two..You can ask
your problem will be solved if you manage to put in download mode and flash stock firmware with odin, if any error occurs during flash you may need to use pit file
The problem is that right now i cannot get back into download mode... I cannot even switch the device off!!!
All i can do is reboot in the download mode (down+home+power) but instead of going into download mode it immediately displays the same message i wrote above...
Seems like a boot loop only working in download mode... Ive been reading around but cannot get any similar error message...
@DroidHackeR - i assume that to use samsung smartswitch i still would need to into dowload mode, if not fully boot the mobile right?
8 month old guide... a little bit outdated..
I have a question... Did you update the phone to Android 7 AKA Nougat?
If that's true you just did the wrong thing to attempt a Downgrade which usually ends pretty bad in newer phones.

If Re-partition is ticked he most likely wont be able to power up at all.... most likely that the bootloader he flashed is older than the one that was on the phone...

I think that a last ditch chance would be disconnecting the battery of the phone and reattach it(Opening back cover = No longer water-resistant) or wait for it to shutdown due lack of charge and then try to start it in download mode...
Right... The phone was obviously not upgraded to nougat (the whole point in my trying this in the first place)... The thing is, although the guide is old i saw recent posts from people rooting with this method...
I have no choice but to wait and see if after the battery runs out anything will change, but i song have a good feeling about it... Damn...
flashing wrong bootloader will make your device turn to an expensive stone paper weigh. if your device is not 930x... then that is what happen to it.
the bootloader was the right one (at least it was intended for my model) - god knows what happened, as i´m not exactly new to this and have never had a single issue before...
anyways, more to the point: after battery discharging it seems to be going back into download mode - now what do you recommend? i am downloading an original rom from sammobile, should i just flash that with odin? i´m not so sure anymore which bootloader i should attempt to download :/
EDIT: so after flashing the ROM from sammobile everything seems to be back on track... looks like i dodged a bullet this time, but it was out of purely dumb luck :/
thanks to all for your feedback, much appreciated!

Nice to hear that you recovered from the "semi-hardbrick", anyways enjoy your "new" phone? xD
Hey guys,
My XZ Premium updated to 9.0. Since then I started to have many problems.
Yesterday a messagage appeared: Your phone is corrupt, it may not work properly. It can't be trusted.
Hours later it frozed and turned off. Now it's not responding to anything. The led isn't working and the device manager shows it as SOMC Flash Device.
The comands pressing volume buttons while I connect the USB cable are not working either.
Can I save it? I bought it three months ago :crying:
First, try to repair it with Sony Companion and Newflasher. if those not work return it to your dealer or ask for a repair under warranty.

I alredy tried. It's not working. I bought in a different country that I live now. I can't use the local warranty.
first of all try a factory reset if the phone not modified.
If you have TWRP installed, wipe the phone out of TWRP.
Probably water in usb port then charging caused it
it cant hurt to try have you tried pressing volume up and power together until you get 3 vibrations?

Can you see your phone in the Systemcontrol? If yes: does the device is valid or does the device has an Akklamation Mark "!" beside? Maybe you must install the fastboot driver?

It only appears as SOMC Flash Device. The ADB or Flash Tools can't get access to the internal memory. I know there's a way to access the internal memory. Just don't know which one yet.
It looks like a coincidence. Hardware not be working may be the real issue.
If you find a knowledgeable repair shop, they can clear your flash and install the original Sony shipped OS for a little money. Most of the time this is done from the USB after a factory reset explained by others here. However, if the USB port is not working then accessing the flash needs opening the unit which will cost you.
And then if the hardware has failed, none of this would help anyway.
What's happen, if you press for 6 Sec or longer Power and Volume up together?
