Hi may I ask whats the difference between GALAXY NOTE 4 (EXYNOS) or GALAXY NOTE 4 (SNAPDRAGON)????????
Which one is the better version to buy?
Two are with different chipset, two different processors, both CPU and GPU. Some might say Exynos is faster in benchmarks and all, and its true too, but Snapdragon is the one with better XDA support I think. So choose according to your preference.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...marks-Snapdragon-805-vs-Exynos-7-Octa_id63111
can any one else comment on this which has better for xda support?
Which one has android 6?
I see alot support for Snapdragon but what about the N910F this has dual sim not sure if its has alot support here.
NERVERMIND LOL
I have owned both. The difference I noticed was the F version ran hotter and the battery did not last as long as the C version. I am now using N910C.
It is generally mentioned that the F version had more rom and kernels because it has snapdragon processor. I never rooted my device yet as I use Knox, so I cannot comment on dev. support. You can browse the subforums and see for yourself. Good luck.
Snapdragon by far. Just look at the development section as far as custom roms go. Way more selections for snapdragon

Just wanted to do a quick poll on if your getting the Galaxy S4 Octa 5 Exynos or Quad Core Snapdragon 600.
If you have a reason for choosing one variant of the Galaxy S4 over the other be sure to comment below!
Haven't decided if I'm upgrading my device yet but if I am, I will be attempting to get the Exynos Octa. The improved battery life and the PowerVr GPU as well as the wolfson DAC are all swinging me towards the Octa. Based on previous Samsung devices, the international version received updates quicker. One downside to the octa at the moment is the lack of LTE, although I find 3G to be fast enough so it isn't really a downside for me.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I voted exynos though by the time they get to the UK the Note 3, Motorola X and Nexus 5 should all be on the horizon so I may end up getting any one of these four phones especially if Sam manage to do some tardis like design with the Note 3 so it doesn't actually get bigger in the pocket.
I'm going to say there will be about 3 or 4 million Snapdragon devices sold JUST in the U.S. .
Just about every other country except for South Korea and maybe Russia will also be mostly Snapdragon versions. Hopefully, for those of you that ordered the Exynos versions, Samsung will let some of them slip out to other locations as long as they have allotted enough to those two countries..
Octa 5 Exynos seems more future-proof than Qcom Snapdragon 600.
^O^
Wolfson chip is all I care for now. But kind of annoying to learn new standard will be 9505 as most countries will receive those. So development will support them more than Exynos. However, even less development support can't force me switch to 9500 as sound quality is the most important part for me right now. I'm listening to a so much music and I spend the same money for my headphones as I do for my phones.
Unsure as of yet, I don't put bat life as a high priority, I want root but only for the apps that require root, I want the best potential game play and sound, I want lte for faster web than I get now on hspa+42 with my n4, so I guess I have to wait till late June early July and see what the exynos is like by then in the UK or even if the phone has been superceded by then.
I want Exynos variant, but hope with new firmwares will score better on gpu benchmarks...
Am in America and there's LTE to take advantage of, so I have to go with Snapdragon. I would really love to use the i9500, but for me, the better LTE speeds will trump the possibly better processor/audio/battery life of the Exynos. Out in the suburbs, a difference of LTE can determine whether you're streaming Youtube in 1080p, or barely skating by on 360. Likewise with Netflix and other services like that.
It would be awesome if I could have the best of both worlds, but I suspect by the time they did that (if they do it at all with the Galaxy S4) then the Note 3 will be out and then I may as well get that.
that snap wont have the wolfeson chip? wtf!!!! i have a note2 but was looking to get the s4,oh well.. i just wonder how much worse the dac will sound
Quad Core Snapdragon 600
Why?
On Sprint and have an upgrade
rumored to get better cpu support
LTE is available in my area
difference in performance is not great enough to give up other advantages
SD600 because of LTE

9505
Going for the i9500 as that's what we are having in here. No LTE yet
Swyped from another galaxy
Going for GT-I9500.
No 4G in my area yet.
No LTE, neither I9500 here. Undecided which one to buy. I'll wait for few reviews. I want the Octa, but waiting few updated benchmarks and battery life from Octa before deciding if deserves the money and all the processes to get it instead of i9505

What would the advantage of the Wolfson DAC be over the Snapdragon GS4? GSMarena's audio testing shows the Snapdragon GS4 has better audio quality than my Nexus S which has a Wolfson DAC.
Since here in Luxembourg we are getting only the I9505 version, I'll be getting the Snapdragon version. I don't really care about benchmarks and CPU's though... so I think I will be ok with both versions
Snapdragon here.
not like I have much of a choice
While I am intrigued by the BIG.Little architecture, and would prefer an exynos with LTE and support for T-mobile radio bands. Since that doesn't exist currently, I am resigned to the Snapdragon, but really not that upset about it. The Snapdragon 600 is a beast in its own right, I'll only be mad if the battery life ends up being much better with exynos over snapdragon.
I'm not too worried about a 10-15% performance difference, and think that development will be better on the snapdragon. I'm much more excited for the new screen, removable battery and sd card, new sensors, wireless charging add-ons, smart cover, almost non-existent light leakage, etc..
I am going to buy Note 4 soon but before I make final decision I must to know:
Camera in both versions - Exynos and Snapdragon are the same, right?
Battery life is marginally better on Exynos, right?
Exynos means less community support - example problem of getting CyanogenMod. But does it mean I cannot install any other ROM? Or I can't only those without TouchWiz? To be honest I always install ROMS based on TouchWiz, those without, example Cyanogen are crap for me.

1-Right.
2- Not really... if you live in the US the the SD 805 is better any where else is the same (Because of the different radios) but I recommend the Exynos.
3- Nope! they are pretty much the same in this case.

Thanks,
2 - I wish I lived in US but I live in Netherlands I am horny for Exynos too.
3- Are you sure? Everyone says SD is getting more love, when I see how many mods is going out, I see love for SD, less for Exynos

Exynos better because of
1- the Wolfson DAC built-in a dedicated audio chip that makes a huge difference in audio output and it's compatible with iRig devices if you want to record instruments on your Note and it's the first and the only Android phone that supports it.
2- 64-bit capability the 5433 has Arm cortex A53/A57 cores so that is pretty damn better than the old a15/a17 (I think) Don't forget that the Exynos is built on the "new" 20nm process that is very powerful and power efficient.
3-If you care about benchmarks the Exynos destroy the SD 805 44000 vs 55000 on geekbench
That's from a personal experience I own a Exynos-powered Note 4 and I'm in love with it!

If you want to use the Gear VR - only Snapdragon runs smooth because of the better GPU
Not my oppinion but an official statement
go for exynos..this time snapdragon batter life is not good and exnos is good all the way even in benchmark
Unfortunately in States we dont have much choice. Only Snapdragon phones fully support available LTE bands.

Search Bar on your right will do the job, www.google.com, www.youtube.com, cheers:fingers-crossed:
dude , if you can help me then answer , if not then please be silent
Not an easy answer sadly.
If your a rom flasher go with the snapdragon as it seems to be easier to work with in that way and there are more Roms. I guess it's more of a known quantity in the 805 and a good solid common cpu. Likely the most popular cpu is the 805.
Exynos from what I've seen has better benchmark scores (I have C variant and have been close to 60k) better ram performance and 8 core so that can help. Also the Exynos cpu has the possibility to unlock 64bit, far as I know this will never be possible on the sd805.
Exynos also has incoming CM12.1 which should open up the rom gates to all AOSP and help catch up the snapdragon versions in that area.
I'm gonna say go for the Exynos it has a lot of potential and overall performance very solid.
But I'm a bit biased as I own that device.
Hope that helps you bro

910F , better ROMs, better compatibility and more widely used.
The exynos may have its advantages on paper but in real usage its down to what you can use and how it feels.
If it were me I'd get what I'd already have which is the 910F.
If I were buying a new phone now. It'd probably be the HTC M9.

Sorry but I have to agree, please use the search function and be respectful of other users. There are already multiple threads like this one, tbh do what the above person has suggested and get the M9 so we will have one less arrogant rude person in this section, cheers!
Hey everyone. In a matter of days im going to buy my new galaxy s7 edge. Reading online articles about they differences i became confused on my choice. My main concern is the difference in GPU (its reported that snapdragon performed 30% better ) . is there any difference when it comes to rooting and customizability?
Can you give your opinion on their differences and what choice do you suggest? Thanks in advice
P.s..: i hope this isnt a duplicate
I have Exynos version. Played asphalt 8 for a while, no lag what so ever, it barely got warm. Yhat gpu difference is overrated, atleast until vulkan API gets implemented. Wouldnt exchange mine for anything
If you can buy the Exynos variant and it's compatible with your network, I don't see why you'd even think about the Snapdragon.
Why?
Battery life: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gal...ife_both_exynos_and_snapdragon-blog-17325.php
And speed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=233f0ewFWGk
Snapdragon cannot be rooted.
Snapdragon variant is LOCKED - you cannot root. If you want root - buy the Exynos version
thanks. thats what i was looking for
Hello everyone
Im going to buy a Note 4 but Which one should I get?
Which one is better at; gaming, battery life and developer friendly? (Is there a prefered model number in terms of rom support?)I really need to know becuase Im keeping it for at least one year.
And btw is there any news about android 7.0 for Note 4?
Thanks
The only reason I see to get the Snapdragon variant is if you wanna use AOSP based ROMs. Exynos all the way.
Nougat? No way mate.
Depends on how your usage is , if you use your device for office purpose , then EXYNOS is what I advice .
Exynos 5433 is 64 bit and snapdragon 805 is 32 bit .
Exynos is octacore and big.LITTLE's architecture utilises the two quad core processor very efficiently, the battery is not bad on any variant comparitively.
Snapdragon is better in terms of development.
As snapdragon is open source , it gets more support from developers .
If you put heavy tasks on your note 4 , then EXYNOS will handle it very well without any lag.
On the other hand snapdragon is well supported by gaming softwares like gameloft . So in Gpu related tasks , snapdragon will perform better.
If you will be using it for a year , then snapdragon is better cause custom roms are well supported on it.
CM14 :Nougat is already in alpha stage .
Final verdict:
Snapdragon : if you are an avid gamer and also because it is well supported by developers .
Exynos :because it performs heavy tasks without any lag at all.
Finally its your choice...
For snapdragon , n910g or n910f is preferable , mostly look for n910f . Both have same development support.
For exynos, i dint know ,look for the one with unlocked bootloader.

I've seen many people on this forums saying that SD is worse in gaming, battery and custom roms, which is untrue.

SD will get it definitely, as for exynos I doubt and even if it gets cm14 , it won't be stable.
Depends on the developers .
