Hello. I just purchased a Droid x for le gf off of CL. The bootloader is version 29.01. Is there any reason I should update this to 30.whatever? Thanks in advance.

if you want to run any of the GB based roms then yes but otherwise no. the botloader gets upgraded via OTA so if you do update it be careful to NOT take the .621 OTA as you will not be able to root if you do. The highest OTA you want is .602 or .605
Nexus 5 only at the moment)

What a crappy post

I've read 4.4.3 it's being pushed to AOSP. Wonder how long will it take to custom ROMs to take the jump. Yet, what's new about 4.4.3? Anyone knows?

Why do you Can root peacefully, after the update?
Because if I root now I'll have to unroot again and restore stock recovery to apply update .

That is so untrue. The only thing you have to do to apply an OTA is to put the stock recovery back.

By using the search button.

Philz recovery might be able to handle stock OTAs. Try it. If not, put back the stock recovery.
Simple as that.

Actually... new Android's version (4.5) is supposed to be announced in July after Google's IO
So this will last 2 or 3 months, tops.
(In case the OTA is pushed to our device and you are unwilling to use a non original image)
Ok so I have all but the most recent update on my phone and its rooted and I have twrp installed as a custom recovery. From what I understand I can not flash the most recent update because its not a full update it just tweeks some things. So to my question is there anyway to flash the stock recovery so I can get the update.

Thanks

I just updated but didn't lose root. :good:
A coworker with a RAZR HD said he updated I checked his root and it remained as well. Apparently update does not break existing root.

I have locked bootloader and using .15 build with root access is there any way to get rid of latest build i.e .15 by using safestrap ??
Root on .15? It's not available yet.

Even if you maintained root through the upgrade without being unlocked there is no way to revert back to previous versions, it will brick your device if you try.

Hi guys I'm currently using nexus 6p android 7.0 nbd90x latest security patch. Previously rooted with twrp installation. Now returned back fully to stock. Even locked the bootloader. Did it using the nexus root toolkit.
My ques is that will i be able to download and install ota updates like I used to before rooting my phone. Thanks
Yes as long as it's full stock u will receive and install OTA updates.
This also works with Full Stock with unlocked bootloader's.
