What a crappy post

I've read 4.4.3 it's being pushed to AOSP. Wonder how long will it take to custom ROMs to take the jump. Yet, what's new about 4.4.3? Anyone knows?

Why do you Can root peacefully, after the update?

Because if I root now I'll have to unroot again and restore stock recovery to apply update .

That is so untrue. The only thing you have to do to apply an OTA is to put the stock recovery back.

Hello knizmi,
i have stock 4.4.2 rooted, with Philz Touch Recovery.
how i can put the stock recovery? if i dont it, i dont receive the OTA atualization ??
(sorry for my bad english)

By using the search button.

Philz recovery might be able to handle stock OTAs. Try it. If not, put back the stock recovery.
Simple as that.

Actually... new Android's version (4.5) is supposed to be announced in July after Google's IO
So this will last 2 or 3 months, tops.
(In case the OTA is pushed to our device and you are unwilling to use a non original image)

What's the best way to do this? Do we use fastboot and mfastboot?

Why?
Since T-Mobile devices can be bootloader unlocked, you could just unlock your bootloader, and root via TWRP and SuperSU. So why wouldn't you, other than not wanting to void your warranty?
Another dumb question: can i flash this with twrp or is only with rsd?

Exactly not voiding the warranty. I just got the phone in December and I love it. But frankly I'm concerned of voiding the warranty so quickly. I can see the foam around the front camera is already sliding a bit and potentially could impact the camera later on if it does. But maybe it never will. I don't want to send it back in just for that when it works great you know.

Have you folks noticed an inability to update Google Cloud Print with this image? As in, when you attempt to update from Google Play you get a message about signature conflict?

And of course the OTA update is just an updater that modifies only certain parts/pieces. The SBF is the full rom.

How to get root on d80020c

OK so my first g2 got stolen, I filed a claim and the g2 shipped to my already has the KitKat update. I know that there isn't a root method for it yet so my question is can I downgrade using the method in the development then root with the method already known? Or do I have to just wait till a method is found for KitKat?

it has step by step to go back to stock 4.2, root, get recovery and flash like I said currently that is the only way for any device to keep recovery on kk(most devices with official kk and sources have got a specific rom to do so)

4.4.3 coming this week

Time to start prepping for an OTA. Memory serves, you need stock bootloader, remove root, and xposed to be able to take the OTA. Sound right??
http://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-pushing-android-443-week
Stock ATT 4.4.2 (165.44.1)
Unlocked Bootloader
Rooted via SuperSU flashable
TWRP 2.7.0.0

Based on the past OTA's....
Yes stock recovery is needed, but you don't need to remove root, xposed can be disabled, you need your bloat on there..
For more, see -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-OTA.html
Oh, and for anyone who had 4.4.2 on their phone, then partially downgraded (i.e. flashed only parts like system.img, etc from an older rom) successfully, taking the OTA now will likely brick you.
I SBF'd to 4.4.2 I'm rooted, have Phil's recovery but no xposed. Unlocked boot loader Dev edition
Based on your post I have two options.
1. SBF the stock recovery and take the update.
2. Wait till the sbf for 4.4.3 to drop and flash that.
Please confirm or let me know if I'm wrong and if there are any other options, do share please.
Great news. I only want slightly better battery life and better camera.

I'm running the soak test right now. Smooth sailing so far. I used rsd lite to flash the sbf file and everything went fine
Sent from my XT1053 using Tapatalk
Will someone release this as something we can flash later or is the only way to get it via OTA? Also, if it is released on here later about how long would it take?
T-Mobile/Unlocked only right now it seems. Which is fine.
AT&T, Verizon and Sprint probably have to wait a bit.
i'm ready. got stock recovery ready to go. just gotta flash my own 4.4.2 dump back on there and i'm good to go

Find your carrier and the Android version you want the recover.img file will be in the .zip
Also, does anybody know if a custom kernel (specifically the faux kernel 007) will interfere with an OTA? If so, where can I find the stock 4.4.2 kernel?

I believe so, but I'm a noob compared to some of the other people here so I wouldn't take my word for it. What I did to update to 4.4.2 was flash the stock recovery via Recovery Tools (now Rashr) and everything worked fine.

Brazilian 4.4.3 OTA package zip

I am unsure if this should go here but I missed the thread that brings together every OTA zip in one place but here it is anyway:

What is better?
Man, what i do with the zip? Flash by recovery or fastboot?
will this work on indian moto G?
@vyaskd No.
@W3ND31 Can do both, I'd recommend sideloading it on adb.
@pico hackr There is absolutely nothing different other than the dialer and contacts and the fact that 4.4.2 went up to 4.4.3. I didn't update the stock firmware myself, only captured the zips to share. Currently running AOSPA.

to flash this i need to use stock recovery or custom?
What I am missing?
My phone got be unrooted to make this update, isn't?
Is there a way of install this update without unroot, on a phone with TWRP?
because if I got to install stock rom to install the updates, makes no sense download this package zip, since we have OTA to update.

This seems purely OTA update and Not cwm zip.
So, whether this update be manually flashed from Stock recovery using "Apply update" option..?
If yes, then possibility of other XT1033 users from Non-Brazil regions be able to update..? If someone has attempted can share the experience.
In simple words, Can a Indian user manually flash this zip via Stock recovery being on Indian stock ROM XT1033..?
