I have locked bootloader and using .15 build with root access is there any way to get rid of latest build i.e .15 by using safestrap ??
Root on .15? It's not available yet.

Even if you maintained root through the upgrade without being unlocked there is no way to revert back to previous versions, it will brick your device if you try.

You can use this & restore your data back when done-the steps are in the op.
If all you need is custom recovery. Rom manager works and will allow you to flash cwmr right from your rooted phone- no pc needed.

I have tried various methods to rooting my android device, but to no success. Motochopper gets to the root, then says it failed, and its cleaning up. It does this every time. I also tried to download EasyRootICS but the url doesn't work for some reason. can someone please help me root my Razr M 4.1.2 so I can install Cyanogenmod.

Which system version do you have? If it's the latest OTA, you need Motochopper 1.3 to root it. Also, if it is the latest, you can't install cyanogenmod because the bootloader unlock is patched...

Don't know much about safestrap, just trying to pick you all's brains.
I wanted to know what happens if safe strap is installed and I'm on stock ROM... and I accept an ota update from Verizon? Does safestrap get uninstalled, overwritten, or is it still there and I can install a custom ROM to it even after an update that most likely breaks root?

SS requires root to work. If you take an OTA and lose root you will loose the ability to boot into SS (however the app will still be there). If you maintain root or reroot you will maintain the ability to boot into SS.

At the moment there is no confirmed exploit for 4.4.2 unless you have an unlocked bootloader. Still holding out hope that someone can figure it out. If not, I'm still perfectly happy with the update. My phone is substantially snappier.

Ok so I have all but the most recent update on my phone and its rooted and I have twrp installed as a custom recovery. From what I understand I can not flash the most recent update because its not a full update it just tweeks some things. So to my question is there anyway to flash the stock recovery so I can get the update.

I just updated but didn't lose root. :good:
A coworker with a RAZR HD said he updated I checked his root and it remained as well. Apparently update does not break existing root.
