OK. So I have tried Google Cardboard and love it. What I want is a way to use a VR device with Nvidia Shield TV. I have scoured the net and no one is talking about this combo!? So I was able to stream from Shield to my phone. It lags! Has anyone thought about this other than me? Does anyone know of anything in the works? The Shield is powerful enough so why not?

Does anyone know if the OUYA controllers pair with the Shield TV? I want to buy one and need to know how many controllers I will need to buy.
Also, will anyone want an old OUYA?

I don't have firsthand experience of it mate but I don't see why not assuming it is bluetooth. Although you won't want to use that controller once you try the sheild one. I paired an amazon fire TV stick remote to the sheild for use in Kodi. Ebay is you best bet for the OUYA. Still a nice little streaming device for someone.
Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I own an OUYA and three controllers, and want a Shield TV.
You could always try it out and return the SATV if you're not happy...but the Shield controllers are much better than the OUYA controller. For the record I'mm 99% sure they work just fine with the SATV though.
Any Bluetooth controller should work on shield tv. If the ouya is Bluetooth it should be ok,mostly.
Did you figure this out? I just got my shield tv and can try it out if you still need an answer.
Got mine to pair but key mappings are very wrong. Tried to install the Ouya keylayout file but it has no effect. Still trying to figure this out.

Sorry, I am no longer of value here. I sold the Shield TV because I couldn't get it working with Amazon apps. I still have 8 OUYA controllers, though, if that becomes helpful...
I have a Sony Bravia android/TV 55. I can cast from YouTube and other apps but the mirror to TV won't work. It'll recognize the TV but just sits there and spins. This isn't a big deal really just curious has anyone else had this issue.
Well somehow got it to connect. I don't know how I did it. ?
I have a MOGA pocket bluetooth controller somewhere , but it's nowhere near as nice as the nvidia shield controller. I have sideloaded a couple apps that want to use a moga controller , and while I'm sure I could attach a moga controller to the Shield Android TV, it seems ridiculous to have to do that when a superior controller exists as standard. Some games (I own the Need for speed game) only allow touch, motion, or moga.. and it would not allow me to use the shield controller. Anyone got any ideas? there are apps that make the moga work on games not made for it, but I've yet to find a way for the shield controller to pretend to be a MOGA
This would be very useful for what i need it for too, i want to play NOVA 3 and it has moga support and sort of recognises the shiled controller as moga wierdly, but again the issue with the right analog stick being a mouse and not being able to map the buttons. So the app to make shield tv think shield controller is MOGA would work for a lot of games we otherwise would not be able to play. very useful
is there anywhere I should request such a thing be made? I mean, I can't donate toward it right now... but I'd be interested in proving there is interest for such a feature or app made available to shield devices.
Yeah I think it has to do with the Shield being Wi-Fi direct instead of Bluetooth. Im pretty sure someone could hack it via root.
Is it possible to use the Nvidia shield TV as a brain for Google daydream and just stream or wire that to another phone for the screen and gyro stuff?
Actually by that proxy I do wonder how they plan to make YouTube 360 work on the Shield TV?
Hi guys, there is a Android TV version of HBO Go. Is it working for You guys that might have it?
I have Zulu's Full Android ROM on my Shield Android TV and normally I can use either Phone apps or Android TV apps, it has full support for the Shield Remote or I can use my Air Mouse.
The problem I have with HBO Go is, first of all, the app does not seem to fit the screen properly even if I force landscape. Second the air mouse or the Shield Remote does not seem to be able to click the menus. Could be I guess because the screen is not fitting properly?
I would like to know if it's a problem with this ROM or if people using the stock ROM have the same issue
