Last night, it was dark and we were watching TV with the Nvidia Shield TV. I reached over to grab the Panasonic TV remote to turn up the volume. While fumbling to grab the remote in the dark, the Nvidia Shield TV started acting all weird like a poltergeist was navigating it!
At first, we thought that our Nvidia Shield TV was haunted! But, it turns out that we can use the 4-Way Directional Pad on our Panasonic TV remote to navigate the Nvidia Shield TV...who knew?!
Not sure how this works because our Nvidia Shield TV is hidden behind an entertainment center, so I doubt the Shield TV can read the IR signals coming from the remote. Plus, I don't think it even has an IR sensor.
It's called HDMI CEC control.
It passes the commands through the HDMI cable to the shield.
There is an option to enable / disable it on the shield in the HDMI settings.
The nice thing about it being enabled is that turning on the shield can automatically turn on the TV and switch to the correct input AND turning off the TV can automatically turn off the shield.

I think my CEC only goes one way:
Panasonic TH58PE75U> Shield TV
And not:
Shield TV > Panasonic TH58PE75U
My TV is probably really old that's why
Hi
I was looking to buy a QWERTY remote control for my Shield TV. I notice I have my Acer R11 chromebook always by where I watch TV. So I wonder if I could use that?
My current setup is an old WD TV box hard wired to my home network with a WD My cloud (first gen) Nas drive (2tb) with a 5tb USB 3 drive chained to it. The WD TV is in my living room/theater attached to my Enclave wireless surround sound system which feeds my Optoma 1080p short through projector. I just purchased the Plex pass lifetime as it was on sale for $75 and I am going to be adding a Home run and antenna to try and get some local Spanish TV going here in Jardín Colombia.
Does the Shield work well as both a server and player at the same time? It will only be used to stream to one device at a time.
I also am looking at maybe a dedicated Plex server NAS and then buying a Android box, but that seems like a much higher cost then buying the shield if it can server as both the server and player and access my My cloud just fine over cat cable.
Thanks for any guidance!.

any difference between the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Gaming Edition and the NVIDIA Shield TV which is currently on sale at "A" for $139.99?
Don't think I will be doing any gaming... I just want to be able to access my local NAS which is filled with Music, TV and Movies and play them back through the Plex GUI to my theater.

Is there any help from God, I can’t connect to nvidia game after logging in to my shield tv account and now I can’t run geforce now
有沒有大神幫助,我的shield tv 登錄賬號後就無法連接nvidia game 現在無法運行geforce now
Ad-blockers sometimes break the login to Nvidia Games app. I had to disable mine everytime I need to login again.
