There is also software based bug for network mode. I have personally experienced this i.e. network mode doesn’t change in reality even if I select 3g mode. So, to force your particular sim card to switch to 3g only mode, first deactivate/disable other sim card on Yureka from setting> sim cards menu. Then dial *#*#4636#*#* > phone information. Tap on Turn off radio button and wait until the button reads turn on radio. Select WCDMA only from dropdown menu above the button. Wait a few seconds. Now tap on Turn on Radio button. Your desired sim card will successfully connect to 3G network. Now go to settings and sim card option and activate the disabled sim card as well. You may need to manually search for network signal if no network is shown. Also you may need to restart the device. If in 3g mode, your phone doesn’t connect to internet, Go to apn setting to ensure correct apn is selected. Sometimes APN menu might not show any installed network settings, in such case, just restart the handset. All these network related issues will be hopefully solved in the next Yureka ota software/firmware update.
after you did this you need to reboot your device......

Hi
In my yureka mobile, Sim 1 is suddenly getting disconnected and not detected. I tried to swap the sims then again the problem persist with same sim but not the sim1 slot. I am using the mobile with same sim cards from more than 20 months. But this peculiar issue started occurring from last week. Again the sim is getting detected only after restarting the mobile. I am facing this issue more than 10 times a day. Can you please provide me the resolution.

Also under Preferred network type do you have LTE selected?

I wouldn't mess with those settings...what does the signal icon say? H or LTE?
When you go to Settings->About Phone->Status-> Sim Status what does it say under cellular network type?
it says HSPA at this time
it says H in the status bar
Yeah, that's 4G...did you change any settings in the *#*#4636#*#* menu?
I have no idea why the lte won't work...this makes no sense...

tried that now same thing H, and no lte
had my kid take the sim out of his 6 plus on att,,boom lte fired rite up,maybe a 2 yr old sim needs replacing ??
I'm seeing the same issue. After boot, the phone is stuck on HSPA. Toggle airplane mode, then the 6p connects to LTE.
I know T-Mo folks have similar issues. For T-Mo, I read about toggling the "Advanced LTE" setting and rebooting resolves the issue.
I would like to find a better solution than toggle airplane mode with ATT.
I called att. I had the same issue last year with my moto x pure. They had refresh their system and reenter the imei number and change my device. I rebooted and it works now. You can chat online if you want. The apn settings should auto plug in when you boot the phone with whatever carriers sim card.
Thanks for this thread. I was noticing it stuck on H all day. Brand new sim, just got it yesterday for this phone from AT&T...
Just glad to know about airplane mode toggle trick, it works great.
Tried resetting APN's, but didn't help.
I'll call AT&T soon and see if they can fix it permanently on their side ?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
For those on AT&T, who *never* sees LTE, even after airplane mode toggle, will need to contact the carrier and have them provision the line for LTE. The easiest way to do this is to put the SIM into an AT&T-branded LTE phone. This way, the system will "see" that you're using an LTE phone and by the time you call, the agent can simply make the needed provision. You can put the SIM back into the 6p thereafter and LTE will stick, even if AT&T's system does not recognize the IMEI.
*However*, if the airplane mode toggle works to connect to LTE or you have ever seen LTE on your 6p in the past, this is then likely NOT a carrier problem. See this thread. What @slaydog and many others are experiencing is caused by a ROM/radio bug. It is intermittent. There is currently no fix for it and a bug report has been filed with Google. We are hoping that the next patch release fixes the problem.
I ordered my nano SIM from AT&T before I received my 6P. The rep had to look up the SKU of the SIM that works for the 6P so that the correct one was shipped. I had LTE service the moment the phone powered up. I would have AT&T send you a new replacement for the two year old SIM, and make sure you let them kmow that it is for a Huawei Nexus 6P.

Help!! I just got the phone and i have 2 AT&T SIM cards installed only the sim that i select as preferred data sim gets data service. Second sim card only receives 2g cellular service. which is ok other than the following 2 things. MMS messages need data service to work correctly and 2g cellular service is horrible in my building at work. I have tried manually selecting network but only available option for secondary sim is 2g. also tried manually setting up a new APN but didn't seem to change anything. my data connectivity and cellular reception flip when changing preferred data sim . so i know its not a sim card issue
I am not rooted
os = 5.0.2
build LRX22G.WW
KERNEL = 3.10.49-gaa8154f
1.16.40.763#1
baseband version = 202c10_10_10.0.0_151106
Do you have the option to set the preferred network type for both SIM cards separately?
It's under Settings > More (Under Wireless & networks) > Cellular network settings > Preferred Network Type
I only use 1 SIM so I can't see what additional options are available when you use two.

No preferred type is for both i have it selected to 4g/3g/2g i can select the network operators independently. once i search for network one sim gets 4/3/2g options and the second only get 2g as an option. AT&T and Tmobile are showing up
Hmm wish I knew more about this to help you out but I don't have any experience with running two SIM cards in a phone.
Have you used both of these SIM cards in another phone before and had them both work as intended simultaneously?
It could just be a limitation of the phone, maybe it can't have two separate 4G connections at once on the same network?
I'm just throwing ideas out there.

Well I am having a similar issue, I have a bell sim I would like to run as 2g and a koodo sim I would like to be the full 4g. The phone refuses dual active, only card selected for data connection functions; I can choose either, but only one functions at a time except for a couple minutes after switching via dual sim settings
---edit---
I forgot to mention, it activates during a call as well
Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
The phone specs say it can only connect to a LTE/3G network on one SIM at only one time. The secondary SIM can only connect to 2G-GSM.

Given the phone specs. Your connection problem is caused by neither Telus(Koodo) or Bell have a 2G network. Yeah so the phone is pretty much useless to Canadians if you want Bell/Telus/Wind/Videotron on the secondary SIM.
I have used my phone (same model) with two SIM's (ATT and T-Mobile). You can enable data only on a device at a time, but it can be on any of the two SIM's. This is mentioned in the phone specs.
http://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-2-Laser-ZE551KL/specifications/
Scroll down to the end note.
Other phones cannot even activate the 4G on the secondary SIM.
It's a little confusing maybe to switch the data, but it can be done - from Android settings.
Ahh, well its still a sweet phone; manually switching isn't a big deal

Hey Guys
Here is the deal..my G935FD is having connectivity issues (service unavailable) on the SIM card that provides backup mobile data but only when on 2G network. My assumption is that this carrier have move away from 2G and have limited connectivity capabilities in 2G. When switched to 4G, works just fine... however I want to use this carrier only for voice services and not data.
I already updated my modem to latest version with same results.
My goal is to disable data completely on this SIM, but the minimum setting on the Edge is 2G and on top of that is not possible to have both SIM running 3G/LTE. I also tried using a fake APN but no luck.
Do you know a way to accomplish this?

From what I could understand, you want mobile data on your primary SIM, and use the secondary SIM only for voice but the carrier is re-farming 2G and you can't have 3G on the 2nd SIM slot?
Well, there's no solution for it. One SIM Slot can do 2G/3G/LTE whereas the second one can only do 2G. No way around it.

Thanks for your help. So no way to only shut down data completely on the second SIM? Shutting down mobile data from settings shut it down for both SIMs, couldn't find a way to shut them now independently.

Under SIM card manager, when you see the Mobile Data tab, isn't it set to SIM 1? That would automatically disable Mobile Data on the 2nd SIM, however you can't get past the network mode restriction. So SIM 1 will be on 2G/3G/LTE, whereas SIM 2 will be on 2G only.
Very easy
Via the settings tab, get into mobile network tab, select access point names.
Choose the sim u want to deactivate and then select the APN and delete it with the menu option on top right hand corner.
using 3g doesn't mean it will use data.. when u chose the primary sim for data the other will never use data even on 3g.
I recently flashed to the new Oreo 8.0 Build from Nougat following this https://community.zteusa.com/discussion/53823/software-update-android-oreo-sd-card-only-axon-7-a2017u-now-on-android-oreo-b20 with a SD card.
Had no issues with the installation but now my Verizon mobile data isn't available. I still receive texts and calls but mobile data is a no go. When I first purchased this phone back in 2016, I had to do the 'Swap SIM Card' method but doing it now still doesn't give me data. Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciative as I have been dealing with this for days now.
Check your APN settings are correct
I have 4 listed with only 3 of them I am able to select. Administrative(VZWADMIN), IMS(IMS) and TracFone(TRACFONE.VZWENTP). The last is Application(VZWAP).

Can you add an apn?
Yes, I can.
If you can add an APN get your service providers APN settings.
Add each line as it shows on the setting list, then save it and you should have data etc.
The other thing to try is ...
Settings > Network and internet > Sim Cards > mobile network.
Let it scan for available networks then select your service provider.
Eg: here in Australia its,
Telstra 3G
Telstra 4G
Optus 3G
Optus 4G
Depending on your sim, don't choose 4G if its a 3G card.
Hope this helps
