i think it will make some differences after flashing a new rom such as cm.

On you second pic, there is unknown error. Means your drm keys are not applied.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Camera quality will be noticed clearly in low light shots, you will see red-green dots due to BIONZ X doesn't work anymore to denoise.

Your DRM keys are lost if you havent made a backup, they are not active curently according to your screenshot.

I think you should'nt share your IMEI on forums ?

I have just attempted to recover my previously stored TA partition with Backup-TA tools, and now after reboot my phone seems bricked. It only vibrates slightly and blinks red light when I try to switch in on, but is not doing anything else.
Is it dead, can I hope to be able to recover it?
Anyways, be very careful guys, when it is coming to TA partition.

Red light blinks? The bootloader is still unlocked... Thats what i read in this forum.. Anyways guys i deliberately let the drms go.. I was trying to back them up.. But it was not getting.. Got pissed and unlocked the bootloader.. Anyways i will stay on rooted firmware with the drm restore mod.. To be honest i hate Sonys front cam in z2... Pathetic!! My Note 3 Neo was way better... But i just love Sonys rear cam.. Excellent i will say.. Only wish if the front had been same.. [emoji20]
Sent from my Xperia Z2 using Tapatalk

Yes, red light blinked and the phone would vibrate when I tried to power it on.
Strangely enough, the phone appeared LOCKED when I tried to recover it with Sony Flashtool, so the tool could not proceed, as it is only for unlocked phones. Though I am pretty sure it was unlocked.
Nevertheless I was able to recover the phone with regular Sony PC Companion, so no harm done, but again, I would recommend to be extremely careful when fiddling with TA partition, DRM Keys etc.
---------- Post added at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:41 PM ----------
Ok, but now after all the trouble I had to go through, I have all my Keys restored.
Not that it was the purpose, though, but It's better to have working phone than a bricked one.

Update:
I don't know how but you guys have to see this.. My drms are absolutely intact.. I was on Resurrection Remix.. And the camera quality was poor as compared to Sony.. Initially i thought since i have lost the drm keys i better flash the latest prerooted firmware and use the drm mod to restore to some extent..
But after flashing i was just curious to see the difference without drms and so didn't flash the mod.. And to my surprise!! Everything works great!!! The camera is same as it was before i used.. X reality and other stuffs are working great!! See the samples below...
Macro shot in low light..
Some other camera samples..
8 MP MANUAL
20 MP MANUAL
8 MP SUPERIOR AUTO
Front cam..
I don't find any degradation in performance.. Its the same awesome Xperia Z2 that it was...
Sorry to spam guys.. But believe me no degradation!!
Now please don't say me that the effects of losing drms can be seen after i lock my bootloader and bla bla... Because if that is the case then i will stay like this only!![emoji13] [emoji13] [emoji13] [emoji13]
Cheers guys!!

X-Reality, DSEE HX, Noice Cancellation, they can be turned on/off that doesn't mean they can work. And I see red and green dot (noise) in this pic, it means BIONZ X doesn't work. If you wanna know does X-Reality work, just go to a showroom and open one picture on your phone and another one in showroom (with DRM), you will see the difference (easier to see with blue and green color). Then other functions will not work as well.

That pic you pointed is similar to what i used to click before.. And i can't see the difference with x reality.. I feel like it has been turned on forever.. Color reproduction is good.. All i can say is the camera doesn't feel changed at all.. I'm getting what i used to get before..

Same thing happened with me when I tried restoring the Backed up DRM keys with TA-Backup tool. I would never mess with DRM keys anymore, to hell with this.

Actually, it's a very basic, easy thing. If you took backup of your DRM keys, everything is ok. No problem at all. My phone is unlocked with custom kernel I wrote and all my DRM keys are active.

G1 Camera colors gone all weird! *Pics inside*

Okay, so my G1's camera colors are all weird.
I bought this phone and it had older cyanogenmod in it, and camera worked all fine.
Then i updated to newer, still worked and suddenly now the colors are very weird.
Does this seem like a software or physical error?
And, any suggestions?
(also, i dont have any effects on when taking pics, tried to reinstall cyanogen, and do factory data reset. Ive also tried with a expiremental cyanogen and stable one.)
I have the same problem with my G1, also running Cyanogen (currently experimental). Flashing back to original 1.5 didn't fix the problem either.

Yes, ive tried that, and from application info>camera>clear data too.
Not helping..
what happens if you try one of the camera apps in the market??
i have the same f*ing problem. tried replacing the actual physical camera itself with a older spare one i had laying around and it actually would just force close on me before it could bring up an image. (maybe the spare camera i had was just broke)
i also tried flashing back to the old DREAIMG.nbh to get rid of root and everything else and the camera is still showing wierd colors (after i changed back to original camera hardware)

Wow! Interesting, i guess theres not much else to do?
same thing happening to me too... everything was fine and then all of a sudden the camera is taking funky a$$ pictures with funky a$$ colors. lol my phone was perfect until i discovered this.... =[ anyone know how to fix it?
to the people who also have this problem, did any of you take your phone apart and put it back together? i did this once but not sure if it was taking it apart that ruined the camera or if it was flashing my phone that messed it up. cause i did both of these in the same day within an hour of each other so i have no idea whether it was the flash or the taking apart.
any insight would help... thanks!

hmm you may be onto something there...i took my phone apart as well to replace the housing a few days before i noticed the colors.
the little black screw that goes right near the camera got stuck to the camera 2 or 3 times because its magnetic. maybe this had something to do with it?
i bought another g1 today and tried replacing the camera but that wasnt the problem....
what i did was remove the whole lower part of the hardware (the green plate where the camera and keyboard thing connects... i dont know all the names for the parts lol) and switched it with the other phone. this worked for me.... so it was something that happened to that part of the phone i guess
now i have to root my phone again and start all over but at least my camera works! lol
I changed the housing on my iphone and messed up the camera like that
Just bumping this thread, to see if anyone has come up with a solution to this. I really do miss my camera..
I will send it on warranty sometime next week, see if they can/will fix it.
the same thing happened to my G1 camera!
I usually leave my phone in my pocket when I take showers and I think that the moisture inside the room somehow messed up my camera.
When it first happened, I turned off my phone and turned it back on. The camera was back to normal for a few days. After that, it went back to blurrs of blue and orange and its really annoying because the phone is fairly expensive and the camera messed up so easily.
I really don't know what to do about it except to take it to a t mobile store. Most likely I might have to get a new phone if other features mess up aswell.
bumping an old thread. anyone have a solution to this problem same thing happened to me
its a hardware problem It happened to me too. the lens is ****ed up. might need to replace.

just hot my hands on G1. had to take it apart, but i put it back together with the magnetic screw, and have the same weird color issue.. but over time, like a day, the camera wont even open. it says it has unexpectedly closed. i dont have any answers, but im gonna have to take it apart again and see if thats possibly the issue.
i got the same thing! pretty much it points to hardware problems. well, according to what ive been looking at. i tried fix_permission, i pushed a new camera apk & cleared data and im getting convinced its hardware

[q] nexus 4 acting weird (possessed)

Hey guys
I hope you can help me, after 4.3 update my nexus starts working weird, like it has been possessed, suddenly it start playing by itself the screen starts moving and open some applications by itself....it recovers when i press the powen buttom two times, so it get back to normal. But this problem has started continuesly apprearing, sometimes im texting and then the phone press some buttoms by itself....so weird.
At the beginning i though i had a virus so i downloaded avast but the problem was still there, then i though mm it might by the image.
So i unlocked the bootloader and then, flash image 4.3, seems the problem was resolved but after 30 min it was there again.
I though OK maybe 4.3 its the problem, i flashed 4.2 but it was worst.
I was reading another post and it seems some users that has NEXUS 7 are experience the same issue:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...g-weird-after-thundershowers.html#post3054272
Well i have a NEXUS 7 2013 and its working good.
However my lovely NEXUS 4 has been possessed, anybody has experienced the same problem ?
I recorded video to explain the problem: http://youtu.be/R4GHnVA7ZHw

Try an excorcism by doing a data factory reset in settings/accounts/backup and restore. if that doesn`t help reflash the factory image in fastboot.

well i have not paid attention on that.
But the problem does not appear everytime, for example right now ive been playing with it for 1 hour no lag so far.
But from time to time it appears, weird.
It really looks possessed haha
Do you have a screen protector on your Nexus? Sometimes some of the cheaper ones can cause interference with touchscreens, making them do that. (Happened to my old Droid Milestone)
Draw a pentagram " anyone will do. A good one is the alchemy circle from full metal alchemist "
Sacrifice two ducks, a rat, and two hundred donkeys and start channeling your thoughts and summon tool guy "aka Satan"
In all seriousness did your phone get wet? And I mean that in a totally non sexual way....
Ouch it's really acts like possessed one, you need to call some priest (kidding) :silly:
If seriously, what version of android are you using? It is got wet, or it's just started suddenly to act like this?
You're not alone, well then again i did get a replacement lcd/digitizer so it could be a problem with that.
But without a doubt i'm getting the same symptoms as you, sometimes my screen touches itself and what not.
Power on/off does solve it too.
If possible enable show touch events under developer options that will help you track down if its touch events.
my N4 has recently started showing these signs without any specific reason, its not possessed but what i can understand is my device has got a horizontal strip in middle of screen which is non responsive to touch and the random touch events are tracked to that specific region only.
I have the same problem. I've got a brand new nexus 4 and its really jumpy and the best possible way to describe it is definitely possessed. Does anyone have any solutions or shall i just send it back and get it replaced?

can not say reliably because you did not describe what led up to it. If you can turn off the phone I think that the thing can save a flash in download mode.
I unplugged the USB cable during the download mode
then the screen become noise as shown in the picture
tried TOT restore to 10E (F320K), no luck

Did you unplug the USB while it was restoring? If you did... WHY?!
Have you tried holding down the power button for at least 10 seconds so you can force it to turn off and tried going into download mode again?
NEVER unplug the phone while it's doing its thing.
is it related to the display??
I can enter the download mode
the display snows like the attached photo
did TOT 10e and KDZ 20r flash with flashtools/R&D
no luck
would it be software problem?
or hardware problem like Pseudo Soldering?
bump
Did you ever get this resolved?
I started having the same problem on my VS980 this morning after I flashed CloudyFlex 2.3. It worked great for a few hours, then one time when I woke it up, I was greeted with this same issue.
kernel
You need to find coorect kernels for yours devices, there 2 types, jdi and ldi kernels. You can find it in android development section.
I ended up sending my phone in for a warranty replacement.
A few hours after this problem started, the screen completely failed. Everything on the phone worked fine. I was able to make calls via BT in my car and could hear the touch sounds and vibration when I would try to interact with the screen, but the display would not turn on.

As far as I know, those kernels are patched to fix the "white lines" issue that people (mainly LS980 users) are experiencing. Now, I can't find a good picture of that issue, but this is definitely not "lines" of any color. I'm also convinced that this problem is not kernel related because after doing a TOT restore back to 11A, the problem persisted.
Hi I have the same problem with my LG G2 too. Sometimes the screen will come back on but it stutters and lags. After a while it would go to the white noise screen again. I'm going to send it in for repair under warranty but my phone is rooted and also have twrp installed. However I am using LG's stock ROM. I'm worried that my warranty will not be valid because I've rooted. How did you get it repaired under warranty? Did you tell them that your phone is rooted?

I don't want to be unrespectful, but I think that it's something like a video effect to show to the user that something went wrong, as long as those screens aren't "analogic" or coaxial-via connected. Maybe? Also, something similar happened to me with a bad "flex" screen video cable, can not be bad, maybe just dirty.
Those are just ideas, and nothing more, but please hear me and check for what I said.

Duuuuuuude!!!! You need a new flex cable!!! They are like 15 dollars on amazon. Im waiting for a repair shop to put a new flex board on my phone
When your screen is completely functional but its black, white or has this white noise, it means the flex cable is faulty. Just like a HDMI cable for your monitor can be faulty

Anyone could make it work?
I do love this phone a lot and I don't wanna get rid of it yet and all of the sudden I've Got the same white noise screen error in my old lg g2 d800. I did TOT, factory reset and I don't know what else to do. The system works fine because you can hear the key sound when you touch any random space of the screen (when you click on something) but the screen does not refresh at all the new content to show. Of course at this time I am a few years out of warranty lol, but want to know if someone ever happened this and if was able to make it work without taking the easy way out (ask for a new device). Thanks!

[Q] Did I break my camera after screen replacement?

Hey there
Yesterday I replaced my screen + digitizer with a non-OEM screen (don't do this! not worth it at all! use OEM with it's hard glass). The repair was easy and accident-less. Absolutely everything works now except for the camera and its flash, with errors "Can't connect to camera" and a crash of the flashlight app respectively.
After googling about it, I've tried these solutions: soft reboot, bootloader reset, deleting camera app data, re-updating camera app, safe mode boot, uninstalling flashlight app and Nova Launcher.
After none of these worked at all, I teared my phone apart again to clean the connections with some ISO alcohol and cotton swabs. Didn't work. The only thing I've haven't tried is factory reset.
I may try the factory reset and use the opportuninty to flash Android L if there's no other solution suggested here.
ps: phone is really easy to repair.

Sounds like it. You exhausted all other options so something must've happened during the repair.

those connectors are really fragile, they might just have bended in a weird way for some reason. I once replaced a display on a nexus 5 which then wouldn't boot because the battery connector was forming an angle too steep.
thanks both for the answer,
my only doubt is that I cannot connect to neither of the cameras.
Anyway as there is no other solution I'll try what I said and will update my results.

Update:
I did a factory reset and it didn't work. The camera icon isn't present and when accessing it through the lockscreen it still can't connect.
There's more. I downloaded this app, Z - Device Test, to try to test the front camera.
The app indicates that there's no back nor front camera and no flash light.
It is very possible that the camera's flex cable was damaged by folding, but would that disconnect those other two components?
Hmm. I'm not sure if the front camera or flashlight are connected through the same ribbon cable, but I'm pretty sure they're not. That being said, maybe the software is coded so that if there is a hardware failure in one of the softwares functions (ie. front camera, rear camera, flashlight) than regardless of whether or not the rest of the components are functioning, the software will refuse to run. In your case, only the rear camera is possibly damaged, but the software refuses to run because one of its features are missing, even though the other 2 are perfectly fine. This may be completely wrong, I'm not an expert, but this is just what I think.

Yeah I think I'll risk buying a replacement camera, after all is only $8.
I hope it is what you said. The camera is very possibly broken because the cable was folded, if you look at my second pic of the OP, the "6" printed has a folding line through it.
Anyway I'm now taking advantage of my factory reset to flash Android L so that's cool... (I wasn't even rooted)
edit: Android L is nice!
Since both cameras are now dead and they were both working before I think it's far more likely you damaged the motherboard, seen it all the time on iphones.
Update:
I have installed a new camera and it doesn't work....
I'm now rooted with L Preview so I used CatLog to look for the error, I've found this related to the camera:

Did you ever get this solved? I recently replaced the screen with digitizer on my n5x and the cameras do not work now...

Phone has a large black rectangle and cannot see beneath it. It's responsive but can't see what you're clicking... Any ideas?

My 1st instinct would lead me to think its a hardware issue but Id definitely try flashing another rom before I troubleshoot further.
You obviously factory reset or flashed a new rom. Was there anything that led you to do that...other than it's just a common thing to do around here?
Yeah, it's not my phone so I'm not aware of the background. They say that it's vanilla Android and was never rooted or rom'd.
Yes, when you can root and try new roms, then why not!? Isn't that why we get Nexus phones?
I'd like to spend time with the phone myself to see if I could fix it, but I'll have to buy it and could get struck with a lemon out of warranty.

Well it's not clear to me what you're allowed to do on this phone but the least intrusive (simplest) thing I can think of that might work is
1. Hold volume down + power until bootloader comes up (like 5 seconds)
2. Navigate to recovery (if its really vanilla rom Im sure TWRP recovery is installed)
3. Press wipe > advanced wipe then check data, cache, dalvik cache
4. Reboot system
If that doesn't fix it it doesn't necessarily mean the phone is junk but you'll want to try something a little more intensive like flashing factory images. Its not at all difficult but Im not sure if you have adb installed on your computer.

Yeah, problem is that I can't do any of this until I purchase the phone. I know my way around ADB so I could definitely install custom roms or factory images/radios/kernels, etc.
So are you saying that you believe this to be a software issue, and not hardware? I don't think replacing the screen will help, but it still could be a hardware issue in my opinion, i.e. bad circuits/connections, fried board, i/o failure or something similar. I wish I could find a similar situation but my research online and in XDA have been fruitless so far. Combined with the fact that I can't actually mess with the phone until I buy it makes this all the more frustrating.
I don't want to buy it unless I know I can fix it...
Thanks

Too many unknown variables to diagnose. If I had to play detective Id ask what the prior owner did.
Was it working ok before he factory reset or flashed a new rom?
Or was the issue present before he reset it?
I really have no idea and would definitely pass on buying it until I got more info.
I've spent quite a bit of time in the 6p threads over the past year & change, never seen a thread with this specific issue.

Yeah, I've asked him for as much info as possible, and a number of specific questions, but he only answers a few vague ones. He says it's never had a custom ROM. By the screenshot, it looks like he tried a reset of some sort, as it's on the first page of the Setup Wizard. So that obviously didn't work. I guess I'll left with paying more for a 6p that doesn't have any problems I'm not willing to live with...
Thanks.
If anyone has seen this and/or has ideas on how to fix, please let me know...
Simple question: do you see this rectangle every time?
I'll explain: when you turn this phone on, you have the Google logo and the boot animation. Is this rectangle there? If yes, you have a hardware failure. If you don't see this rectangle in these screens, that's a good signal - try to navigate to other screens (bootloader and recovery, mostly) and see if you have the same result.
