Anyone know what to do? In order to charge/turn on/restart my phone I constantly have to pull out the battery which isn't good. I've attempted downgrading and upgrading via Odin, which now voided my warratny even though I wasn't rooted. I'm quite mad also because I did a backup which didn't backup everything. My WhatsApp has not chat history, and I have 8GB of data missing. I've spent £290 replacing this phone's motherboard and now this happens...
Is this a hardware failure that I can't avoid?
I was told over the phone it could cost about £120-£190 to fix in store due to no warranty (knox 0x1, despite no root).
Thanks

1) Upgrading/downgrading via ODIN does not void warranty in ANY CASE.....your knox should still be 0x0 as long as you are flashing Official unrooted firmwares from sammobile (maybe you installed a custom recovery and that tripped knox)
2)Your problem is most likely a hardware failure many devices have reported issues with mmc.
3)Since you have already spent £290 on replacing this phones motherboard i suggest you change your phone rather than spending more money on it (what if the fix does not solve this issue, who knows if your replaced motherboard is faulty?)

I guess I'll have to buy a new phone then... Thanks..

Bought a new one off Amazon. Note 4 again, was considering waiting for the 5... Even if they replace the phone, it can just fail again right?
I will need to talk to my provider also, I'm still on contract until November.

Getting G1 repaired with JF Mod

My G1 is only 5 weeks old, yesterday while using TeleNav GPS my phone overheated or something and now it wont charge. I need to exchange it for a new G1, does anyone know if tmobile will reject me because the phone is rooted and has the JF mod?
you can unroot your phone before sending it in. if you send it in with mod'd software you may be charged for an out of warranty fee. just flash RC29 NBH and then apply the official signed RC33 full update.
yeah, im having an issue going back to RC29, keep giving me an error. Do I need other files besides the RC29 update.zip file?
All you have to do is get the rc30.nbh file and reflash. That's it all done. You can find it some where on xda
rc30.nbh
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3014684
In all honesty, with T-Mobile now "supporting" rooting on their own support forums, I think they will be accepting all G1's (rooted and not) as long as it isn't a software problem or caused by flashing (brick due to bad flash)
rooting never violated your TOS, although it could void a warranty but I believe you can't void a warranty for hardware if you update software.
G1 trade-in
As longas the sticker on the inside of the phone (where the battery goes) is white, NOT red, and there is no phyiscal damage to the device, you should have no trouble geting a replacement phone. You could also revert the phone back to it's unmodded state, but there's really no need to. Just order your new phone, by phone, and not through the dealer. Either way you'll still have to wait 2 or 3 days.

Help with messed up phone

Let me first off say in download mode somehow i believe ive tripped knox... my Knox warranty void is set to 0x1 and i dont think theres anything fixable there.
My main problem is im having a very hard time keeping my phone on most the time it boots in and freezes shortly after seeing the screen.. sometimes making a buzzing noise out of the speaker.
I went from rooted 4.3 to the leaked NC2 and somehow picked up this problem. On friday it started the reboot crap again and said something in yellow like warrenty void : Kernel then went to a screen saying software not approved that i needed to take it to a VZW store. Im back to 4.3 currently and rooted with the problems still existing.
I dont mind the tripped knox as long as i can figure out the rebooting... Im just about to the point of opening another line just to get a new phone since i have no insurance on this one

Note 4 charging problem. Warranty void?

Hey guys! A week ago my phone started bugging, vibrating randomly and playing weird sounds until it turned off (rooted and rom installed, standard kernel). I tried to charge it but was unsuccesful. It simply would not charge nor connect to the pc. After playing with it i managed to get another rom installed. This did not fix the problem though. I believed the battery was the problem so I went and bought a new one, but once again it would not charge. I opened my phone to see if i could see any loose connection or something, but I was not able too see anything faulty. I'm now 100% sure this is a hardware issue, so would i be able to send it to Samsung for warranty-repair even though i have rooted my phone and flashed a different software? Thanks in advance!
I would really appreciate some help on this topic!
You tripped Knox so it's highly unlikely they'll repair it. Did you try a factory reset? Also might want to try flashing an Official firmware for your phone.
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app
Yes factory reset and everything. As I said I'm SURE this is a hardware issue because the USB transfer/battery transfer is damaged. I also am not able to connect to Odin which further confirms that it is hardware related. How can i flash an official rom without Odin?
I have now had it in for repair at a local proffesional (no warranty). He told me he was not able to repair it and that he was unable to find the source of the problem. I love this phone and I would do anything to get it working again...

You could try to replace the USB module and see if that works. It's very cheap and worth a try.
I have already tried that.. I really have no idea of what to do
What can i flash via recovery to fully clean it of anything and set it as close as possible to factory standard or simply GET IT TO WORK? Any help is very appreciated

[Q] Custom rom install history - Samsung Warranty Service - i9505

Hi.
I can't find answer to this. I know that triangle away delete the number of installed custom roms but does they have any way to check that i had custom roms? I know the issues with samsung and warranty policy so i want to be sure that i can fight back if they refuse to fix my phone because of knox. (overheating) If they do this, this will be my last samsung phone.
Triangle Away worked when all the S4 had was the flash counter, but it doesn't do anything when it comes to the Knox flag. Once the Knox flag is tripped by installing a custom recovery, it stays tripped. There is no way to reset it. So Samsung has an easy way to check.
If warranty is a concern, there are ways to root that do not trip the flag. However, you're stuck with Touchwiz.

Oh i know it (i used to change firmware on old sony ericsson phones). I can lie about the knox since some people get it changed by samsung tools, thats why im asking if they have any other way than knox, like under bootloader. My phone is overheating because of hardware problem, i want to be prepared for service reject (stories about rejecting repair of defective screen etc.).
They might not even check the flash counter. You can give it a shot. The worst that might happen is that they send it back (Unless they repair it without consulting with you and charge you for it).
My phone also gets pretty hot when playing games and the phone is charging at the same time. It burns my finger if I keep it in one place, literally.
I guess that's how they intended it to work..
@VanHelsing091: I misunderstood your question. Sorry about that. As GDReaper points out, they may not even check for a tripped Knox flag. If they don't, there's really no way we know of that they can tell if the device has had a custom ROM flashed.
@GDReaper
But mine is getting 50 degrees on main screen, watching photos etc. over 65 while doing anything else, over 70 while charge and using chrome even on locked cpu clocks under 1300mhz.
@Strephon Alkhalikoi
Thanks. If they refuse to repair my phone on warranty because of knox - that will be a lie (damaging phone by custom rom... sure, without touching OC in kernel tools), so i wanted to be sure if i can lie too about phone history, it happened before triggering knox anyway.
Im hoping for the best and good service, if not then i may start one of those big posts about company vs user. Thanks again.

Stock SM-N9005 Restarting 4-5 times a day - need some advice

Hi,
I have been having a ongoing problem with my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 in where after the 5.0 upgrade (stock over air) it has been restarting pretty much 4-5 times during the day, and a number of times while even just sitting on the desk doing nothing.
Since I am still on contract with my supplier in NZ, I took the phone back to get repaired, in which Samsung sent it back to state "Software corruption, reloaded software".
I didn't believe them, but hoped it was correct - but sure enough the same thing happened. So I once again took it back, where they have once again told me the same thing. It is now the third time I have done this, with Samsung saying the same thing!
Now I am at wits end, and have asked for replacement, but I am being told "It is due to your google account being corrupt, and it is causing software corruption....." *sigh*
So now not only is Samsung just not helping, they are blaming my Google accounts for causing the issue. Which btw - I didn't setup the last time, and still it restarted - but they are ignoring that fact!
Anyway - the advice I want to get is has anyone else had the same issue with the Galaxy Note 3 after upgrading? I know there is no way to rollback 5.0 to old version, but did anyone fix the issue by Root and then adding another ROM (I don't want to root this phone, but to be honest I also can't afford right now to replace so I am looking at options)
Right now I am facing a ongoing battle with Samsung and my provider to replace the phone, but they are fighting it a lot and to be honest I have lost my patience so I am thinking to just drop them, root/flash new Rom, and then go to another provider - and probably never buy Samsung again when I can finally upgrade.
(used to love Samsung products but this behavior I have had is certainly making me think twice before I touch them again)
Since they refuse to accept warranty you can try to flash twrp. Then clear everthing(system/caches). Then back to stock with odin. There might be leftover of corrupted files that could cause reboot.
But later they have a better reason not to accept your phone, knox tripped.
And you can actually downgrade to 4.4.2. Just flash firmware of the same csc to be safe.

Do you have memory card installed? if so then scan you memory card for possible viruses.
Actually I have this issue too before.
Even if I left it lying on the table, it can restart by itself.
I tried to update to latest PB1 rom, the update failed, the phone restart while ODIN updating.
So I use Kies recovery and got it working again.
After that, i tried again update to PB1 rom using ODIN. and now no issues at all.
I dont know which one did the trick whether update to PB1 or KIES recovery.

Thanks - but no I don't - these are the first things I did when it started happening.
When it started happening I did factory reset, removing memory card, factory reset again, didn't restore backup from google... etc etc - so the general admin tech stuff.
Because under warranty (2 year contract) I didn't want to do anything more so sent to provider to get dealt with (into my 22 months of 24 months). For the last 4 months it has been to them a number of times for the same thing.
Now each time they send it back they claim "software corrupt" and that there is no hardware issue. So doing a software root and mod change for me is a hope - and probably not a good one - that the Stock 5.0 is the problem on this phone. And only going down this road because I am coming out of the warranty and right now I have a phone I can't really use, and damn Samsung won't support it or fix it (which is really all I want them to do!!) sigh

Thanks for this information, because in fact you are not the first time I have read this but I am not sure what the Kies recovery is - is there some instructions you have because maybe that is what should try, because I have seen other people on Google state this has helped them with restarting, but that was usually after Mod fix. Maybe there is something in the 5.0 update on GN3 that might cause this?

Thanks I didn't think from what I was reading that you could backwards - in fact Samsung have just down right refused, which is all I have asked them to do in the last two times - "Just flash back to the version that was on there last 4.4.2. because that didn't cause any issues!" However, they are stating very firmly that you can not rollback or re-flash back to a previous version.
Is there any instructions which are for the 9005? I have seen for the 900 but the instructions state very clearly you can't use them for 9005.

Just flash the firmware with odin. Factory reset in recovery after it's done. That's it. There are a lots of threads about going down such this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...o-downgrade-lollipop-to-kitkat-t2990262/page2
I suggest you read through before you go further. They are mixed results. Some successful. Some did not. That is why it is better to flash the same csc firmware.
I even able to downgrade my S6 from 6.01 to 5.1.1 without issue but of course it's different phone.
