Hello,
I recently purchased a Galaxy s5 SM-G900F on a french website (Eglobalcentral.fr).
Or so they said.
I wanted to root it, by flashing CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f on it with Odin, but it didn't work.
And then I took a closer look on the infos on the screen on the download mode and saw that it said Product Name : sm-g9006v...
Plus, as you can see, the knox flag is already tripped. It was before I touched it.
But in the phone properties, it says SM-G900F. So which one is it ? How can I root it ? Have I been scammed ?
Thanks a lot !
EDIT : wanted to add a screenshot but I can't because I'm new ^^

It's written SM-G900F there. But still, why is there a SM-G9006V in download mode ? And why can't I flash a Samsung Stock ROM on it ?

It seems that the G9006V is the Chinese model. If the product was advertised as a G900F you should contact the seller regarding a fraudulent advertisement. I'm sure even with Knox being tripped they'll be willing to reimburse or exchange it, that's a very shady practice.

Okay... I'll try to get a refund then, and buy a real one from another well known website. Thanks.
Okay, I'm beginning to think I'm cursed.
I purchased another SM-G900F, from a well known french site, full price.
They sent me a SM-G901F -_-
I'm going to keep it, but still, is that common practice ?
Hi there,
i'm from France too and purchased the same weird G900F, from the same site (eglobal). It's also a disguised G900V, with sort of a "frankenstein" firmware, some parts are from g9006v (recovery, bootloader) and some part middle east G900F.
Can you tell me what did you do with it? Did the seller refund you?
The g901F is a beefier version of the S5, with a snapdragon 805. There is a cf autoroot version for it so i wouldn't mind too much. What was the site?
Thanks

I asked for a refund, they say they have 2-3 days delay to answer. I'll let you know.
And yes, I'm gonna keep the g901f, I've already root it, I don't mind either ^^

I did that myself...four times. Still no answer, three weeks later!
It seems they found a solution to sell the unsold chinese S5 , the model didn't do well in China...but they don't want to ear about it!

It seems they don't respond to me either. I created a "litige" with Paypal, I give them 'til the end of the week and then I'll change that "litige" into a "réclamation". That's Paypal procedure, first they only forward your message, then they handle it themselves...
It seems like eglobalcentral.fr doesn't care about individuals, I really hope they will care about Paypal.
I'm sorry for you, I'm not sure you'll get anything by yourself...

Fortunately i managed to install Lidroid rom on the device, which is already rooted and includes french language. It's a very good rom (4.4.2, touchwiz with a few tweaks...), and everything works great, network and all.

UPDATE
All true what I had written from this dealer, but if you ever have a problem, happens to me that disconnects the wifi, although he says to offer 14 days to return the item, he will do anything not to have it sent back. In fact, before he called me "friend", buddy, now, instead of helping meets every two days, before he answered immediately or almost, but never more than 24 hours. Now, he writes things like: "Samsung will solve the problem within 1 week", while to expire 14 days to return the item.
Given the misconduct, I will try 'to do something, or similar dispute with ebay / paypal. His name is: never-msrp
Beautiful suck!

http://www.ebay.it/itm/221232657495...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_6912wt_1172
This seller seems honest, the feedback are ok, I paid with paypal which is a Safety.
Someone on one Italian forum, reports that supercurio says that the GT-i9500 models are only sold in asia?
Should I be worried?
Besta Regards!

oh ok then must be some other issue
The S4 has some issues with specific routers, I don't recall which. Did you try different Wi-Fi environments?
Verstuurd van mijn GT-P5100 met Tapatalk
Yes, tried with Billion 7402NX, Thomson Speedtouch ST585 and Linksys of one my friend. All other devices, including my GT-I9300 and GT-I9100 does not have problems in the same environments. I have sent my GT-I9500 to the customer service. I hope it returns healed!
The router to which you refer is D-Link.
I bought a 9505 from the same seller, and it's working perfectly. You must have been unlucky with yours.
And if your item does not work, it doesn't matter if the seller accepts returns or not, you are covered by ebays buyer protection.
The wifi issu with connecting to d-link routers is known to samsung and d-link. Try to update your router firmware. Hope thats help.

hmm thats not gonna cut it, my old s3 is a i9300, and this "new" one claims to be a i9300, but its completely different, and doesn't have the samsung boot logo, just comes up "android", should this be enough? cause i9300 is the international s3, so how could the korea i9300 be any different? does a korea i9300 even exist?

A Korean i9300 does exist. But once it shows "Android" as the boot animation, It's automatically a fake as Samsung never distributes phones that show that (that I know of). Get your money back! :fingers-crossed:

Well good luck and better check it twice next time
Even though it is a fake, and you would expect sub-standard - what are the differences? Is it a good phone still?
I ask because I work with Cisco equipment. There was reports of fakes (Cisco) floating around and it was difficult to spot, apparently they are just as good and are made in the same factory... so in this case the only time I would care about a fake is if I needed to return to warranty.
EDIT: just been reminded that fake products are illegal. - so this is why they're a problem.

I know, what you mean, thats what I also thought. But as you can see in the pictures (in my first post) i can not handle it with korean letters .
As "gee2012" told me i should check deeper, I did it.
e.g.: With CPU-Z i could see, its not a quad-core processor, only 1,4 GB (internal SD-card), its a MT-65xx device... a.s.o.
The other point is s/n & IMEI a.s.o. because, I think if these devices become more distributed they will be suspended/ "network disabled" (who knows?).
&& the other point is (important), I CAN NOT INSTALL CM
But I have also good News: I have my money back, he was surprised about, what i had to say.
Finally, i must check now his and his girlfriend's new Cellphone .
Sometimes it's like this: happy to see a real new device and trusting (in something) and a bit blind ....
Be sure, in future it will not happend to me again, sure!
THX for the condolence
Yours

You need to flash it with a scatterfile, using the Chinese smartphone tool. Do some Google searching and you'll find it. It flashes the file while it's off and plugged into the computer. The biggest problem is finding the right scatter file for the phone.

I wouldn't end that statement with "sorry". If he just bought it like that, he's not going to be the least bit disappointed with having to reset it in order to make it work. Just being able to make it work is all he's after. I'm sure he's ecstatic to know that he can

I may be a bit biased because I've rootedand customized phones since the D1, when it was MUCH harder than it it currently. But I have always found ODIN very easy to use. In reality, I'm sure the OP could look up a video on youtube on how to use ODIN and get his phone working in like 20 min (minus download/setup times for ODIN, ROM, etc.). And I'm sure he saved a bundle buying it like that. He just needs to pray it's not IMEI locked on top of it, or all that effort will have been wasted

Hello all,
So I just got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone and I'm loving it so far, except for one thing. When I try to open the Samsung My KNOX app it says:
imgur[dot]com/ljtI1Qo.png
I'm just confused because I haven't changed the OS at all. After a little research online I found people saying that this message is caused by people rooting their phones and installing custom OS's, which I haven't done. Here's proof:
imgur[dot]com/tBvzKPs.png
Why is My KNOX saying that and is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!
Two possibilities. Have you use a package disabler app to disable any system packages. Or have you changed the default pixel density? Both have been reported to cause problems with Knox.

Why is My KNOX saying that and is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!

Maybe I just got scammed and this is a refurbished model?
I really, honestly appreciate the help as I've been a big Apple fanboy for forever and just decided to switch to Android. Great experience so far.
Edit:
I bought the phone factory unlocked: ebay[dot]com/itm/262399542189
From my research online it seems as if the CSC code pertains to the country. Since this is an unlocked phone, maybe it doesn't have a CSC code because it's not linked to any country? Or is that crazy thinking?
Samsung KNOX Counter cool.

This isn't normal. Every Samsung device have a CSC Code. Speak with the eBay seller and get one replacement or money back.

I'm in the process of doing so. Thanks for the help! But just out of curiosity, why would someone completely remove a CSC code from the device and how would they do that without tripping the KNOX bit?
I'm wondering if someone tried to modify a Chinese market phone to work on AT&T, and is trying to unload his screwup onto someone else.

The box was unopened and the factory seal was un-broken. Maybe they just got a new box somehow? Is there a possibility that this is just a hardware problem?
Another thing you can do, will be to re install the firmware with odin, and I'm sure will work again, but you will have to install from scratch, unless you can backup your apps, etc
after having a look into the files you uploaded, it has a middle east pda xxu1apb6 and maybe is that the reason you maybe having some trouble, being in USA, you need to download one for the region you are in, sure someone in here should know which one will be the best for you. My self I have installed the XEU one, for the UK, and my phone had installed the ETL one, that was from Czech Republic, country I bought my phone from.
Installing the software again through Odin, will not trip knox at all, so try that.

So I just got off the phone with the eBay seller, and they said that the phone is brand new and that Samsung Pay isn't working because the phone is an unlocked international version[which the listing did say], and Samsung Pay isn't currently available on international phones. After some research on Google, it does look like Samsung Pay isn't currently compatible with international phones. This kind of makes sense to me, and I'm okay with it because the guy on the phone said that Samsung Pay should be rolled out for the international version soon.
Thanks for the help guys! Coming from the iOS landscape where this isn't a problem, the thought of it not working because it's an international phone didn't even phase me.
Have to say that I think you may have been sold a line there!
Knox and Samsung Pay are related, but not the same thing, and Knox does work on international phones.

That's a complete lie, I installed a USA version of the CSC on mine, ( international version)and there it was the Samsung pay app on it, I was checking versions on my phone, and flashing different countries to verify things work, and they do, pity I did not take a screen shot to prove it, but there it was.

So I learned that you can actually look up the devices IMEI number on http://www.imei.info/ to check the status, warranty, etc. The phone is legit and it's apparently still under warrenty from Samsung for another year.

Good point. Just curious, what could someone do with them?
