UPDATE
All true what I had written from this dealer, but if you ever have a problem, happens to me that disconnects the wifi, although he says to offer 14 days to return the item, he will do anything not to have it sent back. In fact, before he called me "friend", buddy, now, instead of helping meets every two days, before he answered immediately or almost, but never more than 24 hours. Now, he writes things like: "Samsung will solve the problem within 1 week", while to expire 14 days to return the item.
Given the misconduct, I will try 'to do something, or similar dispute with ebay / paypal. His name is: never-msrp
Beautiful suck!
You have been warned!

Hi,
have just purchased this:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/221232657495...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_6912wt_1172
This seller seems honest, the feedback are ok, I paid with paypal which is a Safety.
Someone on one Italian forum, reports that supercurio says that the GT-i9500 models are only sold in asia?
Should I be worried?
Besta Regards!

Unfortunately, I have wifi issue with my I9500 and the ebayer is bad! But I do not care that never-msrp is dishonest, I only care that my 9500 is working correctly, so I have sent my I9500 to Samsung support, because the ebayer, never-msrp, does not intend to help me, he just tries to take time to expire 14 days within which I can no longer return it.
Please, read the updated first post, if you want more detail.

oh ok then must be some other issue
The S4 has some issues with specific routers, I don't recall which. Did you try different Wi-Fi environments?
Verstuurd van mijn GT-P5100 met Tapatalk
Yes, tried with Billion 7402NX, Thomson Speedtouch ST585 and Linksys of one my friend. All other devices, including my GT-I9300 and GT-I9100 does not have problems in the same environments. I have sent my GT-I9500 to the customer service. I hope it returns healed!
The router to which you refer is D-Link.
I bought a 9505 from the same seller, and it's working perfectly. You must have been unlucky with yours.
And if your item does not work, it doesn't matter if the seller accepts returns or not, you are covered by ebays buyer protection.
The wifi issu with connecting to d-link routers is known to samsung and d-link. Try to update your router firmware. Hope thats help.

I am a US owner of a i9300 that recently needed warranty service. Here is a guide on how to obtain warranty work and some tips from my experience. I have a feeling we're going to see a surge in people who will need it.
PhoneLand
http://www.freesamsungrepairs.com/
My phone's touchscreen wasn't responding so I contacted PhoneLand in the Bicester area. They asked me to email them my IMEI and serial number to verify that the phone was a EU phone. I guess non-EU phones from places like Dubai or Australia won't work. They got back to me telling me mine was from Germany. After printing out the repair form, I sent it USPS Priority which wasn't the best idea. If sending by USPS, try International Express because it guarantees delivery with a tracking number and you can pay for return shipping also (return shipping saves a lot of trouble and time, trust me on this). It got to the UK in about a week or so. I called them up and confirmed that they received it and they replaced it rather quickly. Paying for return shipping in advance saves a lot trouble because they're not that quick to contact you. I'd say that the whole process took 3 weeks total. I am very satisfied with their warranty service but correspondence with them was difficult because of the time zone difference.
hi, i'm very interested in send my phone to claim warranty service, but i lost my recipt... they need any form to be sure when and were i bought the smartphone?
Sorry for my english, it's very rusty xD
OP, why do think there will be a surge in people that will need to make a warranty claim?

No receipt is required. All EU phones still have warranty left.
I would just like to thank jinosong for this great info. My GSIII crapped out on me and send it to phone land. Repaired in one week and in the process of being shipped back to me.

It's because of two things. SDS, which has been resolved for the most part; and the fact that most users are on their second year of the two year warranty. The longer the phone has been in use, the greater the chance of a breakdown and the S3 is not the most reliable phone out there.
Others may disagree with me but I love that fact that I have a European warranty, not a US one. With European warranties, we are given TWO years, not the standard US one year warranty. It may take a while longer to get it fixed but it's better than paying to repair a crapped-out phone out of pocket.

Samsung USA is probably wrong. They probably mean that the I9300 is an international version not made for the U.S. You probably have a non-EU version (somewhere like Saudi or India) which means only a 1 year warranty anyways. SDS or faulty screen?

im thinking sds, just constant freezes for like 20 minutes. Ive rooted it, flashed different roms, even flash cm 9 to no avail. cm 9 seems to have stopped much of it but it started other problems like no mms at times and other media related things. the funny part is that it seems to have started after the 4.1.2 update. According to USA samsung it is a UK phone.

That really doesn't sound like a hardware issue at all. In fact, most of the current kernels are SDS-proof now. My guess is you're not wiping correctly. Ever try super wipe?
EDIT: I'm very sure it's due to incorrect wiping. You stated that issues came after the 4.1.2 update. It's probably the old 4.1.1 sources that are causing incompatibilities.

hmmm... funny thing is that i just thought about the super wipe thing too, just read about it on another site. Ive never tried it but its seems like the next best thing to do. I rooted and flashed my phones for a a while but only nexus devices and og droid so it wasnt very difficult.
That's the answer for sure.

After meg wipe, install a rom, custom or stock.

Just wanted to bump this thread because our phone is still under warranty and anyone can get their efs repaired here.
First do you have the serial number?
Second get Kies http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP Samfirmware has instruction viedo
Third Open Kies,
Fourth put phone in download mode. Make sure it is recognized by Kies
Fifth go to tools/Firmware Upgrade and Installation and enter the information asked. Kies will install newest program for the phone from original area the phone was made in.
I also find that I had to go back to the original importer to get the phone serviced. I bought mind threw Newegg and the importer was http://www.ct-miami.com/

Good to see my old girl back up and kicking.
Sorry guys, while I understand this is a good price for a good service, we can't allow any exceptions to our forum rules. We don't allow members to use XDA to advertise their products or services, so I'll have to close the thread.
If anyone is already in the process of a transaction, I'm sure it can be completed via PM.
Well my S5 has been working flawlessly since I first bought it a couple of weeks ago but now I have the dreaded 'warning: camera failed' error whenever I try to go on the camera. I have tried battery pull/rebooting/freezing/clearing certain apps but no dice.
Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come with other S5's as I have seen there is already a lot of talk about it elsewhere online but mainly with the US Sprint variants. Admittedly I have been using mine quite extensively but my S4 didn't suffer from this problem and I used that heavily too.
Hope I don't have to send it back for a replacement as what a ballache! Plus I'm not sure I'll even be covered as I have rooted and installed a custom recovery so my knox is tripped lol. If they won't cover it I'll just try and reseat the flex cable for the camera sensor or even order a new part.
I will update the thread after I have tried a few more things... !
(Bought the phone from o2, UK, BTW)
P.S the phone is now running much hotter as well even when idle... I think it is hardware related! I haven't made any app changes or updates it seems to have just happened out of the blue.
EDIT: Flashed stock rom and factory reset. Still can't use the camera ... GRRRR!!!

I had it too...
But they replaced my old s5 to a new one without any problems ! :good:
I had "Warning Camera Failed" problem on my SM-G900SW (S5 in Canada), along with some other weird problems.
After reading an announcement from Samsung that the problem is ROM related download the stack image for my device/provider from Samfirmware and re-flashed the phone.
The problem went away, and so did some other issues.
What would you guys suggest one could do? My OPO lies on my desk collecting dust petty much. It has a faulty touchscreen and not even the latest touchscreen "firmware" remedies this.
Because of that annoying touch issue, I picked up another phone two weeks ago, a Galaxy S5.
I had in mind to just throw it into a brick wall but seeing as I don't like wasting money, that's not really an idea. Though it would be highly satisfying. I can't really sell it like this, can I? OP does not seem to respond to emails.

I requested an RMA a while ago but they haven't replied to my email.

It may be more than it's worth... unless 'principal' is the most high for you.
If you don't get a response from OnePlus folks, walk over to small claims at your local court house and file a small claim against the company. You'll win.. its a PITA, but sometime when the principal (law Law on your side) is worth it... do it.
It sometimes help mold a companies responsiveness and ethics for the better.

Send it to DorimanX. He made a fantastic kernel for the LG G2. Will benefit the whole OnePlus community.

Request a refund via paypal. Explain that you have tried to make contact but have heard nothng. I think it must be hardware as mine is spot on. The only thing I can find wrong with mine is dim capacitive buttons. U from the UK?

Paypal know this, and if you let them know you do you'll get a refund.
Hello,
I recently purchased a Galaxy s5 SM-G900F on a french website (Eglobalcentral.fr).
Or so they said.
I wanted to root it, by flashing CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f on it with Odin, but it didn't work.
And then I took a closer look on the infos on the screen on the download mode and saw that it said Product Name : sm-g9006v...
Plus, as you can see, the knox flag is already tripped. It was before I touched it.
But in the phone properties, it says SM-G900F. So which one is it ? How can I root it ? Have I been scammed ?
Thanks a lot !
EDIT : wanted to add a screenshot but I can't because I'm new ^^

It's written SM-G900F there. But still, why is there a SM-G9006V in download mode ? And why can't I flash a Samsung Stock ROM on it ?

It seems that the G9006V is the Chinese model. If the product was advertised as a G900F you should contact the seller regarding a fraudulent advertisement. I'm sure even with Knox being tripped they'll be willing to reimburse or exchange it, that's a very shady practice.

So you think the download mode is "right" and the label under the battery is wrong ?

Okay... I'll try to get a refund then, and buy a real one from another well known website. Thanks.
Okay, I'm beginning to think I'm cursed.
I purchased another SM-G900F, from a well known french site, full price.
They sent me a SM-G901F -_-
I'm going to keep it, but still, is that common practice ?
Hi there,
i'm from France too and purchased the same weird G900F, from the same site (eglobal). It's also a disguised G900V, with sort of a "frankenstein" firmware, some parts are from g9006v (recovery, bootloader) and some part middle east G900F.
Can you tell me what did you do with it? Did the seller refund you?
The g901F is a beefier version of the S5, with a snapdragon 805. There is a cf autoroot version for it so i wouldn't mind too much. What was the site?
Thanks

I asked for a refund, they say they have 2-3 days delay to answer. I'll let you know.
And yes, I'm gonna keep the g901f, I've already root it, I don't mind either ^^

I did that myself...four times. Still no answer, three weeks later!
It seems they found a solution to sell the unsold chinese S5 , the model didn't do well in China...but they don't want to ear about it!

Well, I'll wait three days, and then I'll see with Paypal, since I used my Paypal account to pay. They are efficient most of the time
Ok, let me know what happens next!

It seems they don't respond to me either. I created a "litige" with Paypal, I give them 'til the end of the week and then I'll change that "litige" into a "réclamation". That's Paypal procedure, first they only forward your message, then they handle it themselves...
It seems like eglobalcentral.fr doesn't care about individuals, I really hope they will care about Paypal.
I'm sorry for you, I'm not sure you'll get anything by yourself...

They responded to Paypal, my case is still ongoing. We will see...
Fortunately i managed to install Lidroid rom on the device, which is already rooted and includes french language. It's a very good rom (4.4.2, touchwiz with a few tweaks...), and everything works great, network and all.
Conclusion : Never buy from that website.

Yep, never again! I'll gladly pay a few dozen bucks more next time and deal with true retailers, not vanishing crooks!

I sent mine back today, and Paypal will pay me back whatever happens now. So yeah, for me too, conclusion is "never buy from this website again" ^^
