Accidentally took emmc off my NC - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a nook color, and I've rooted and reinstalled stock so many times , that
I thought I knew all the tricks. Apparently I didn't! I tried to revert from manual booted back to stock and it would not take.! Long story short I noticed when I went to mounts and storage there was no emmc showing . Have I destroyed my nook color? Is there any way to get it back?
Thanks!!!
Rhonda

Thank you !!!! I'll give it a try!

I tried repairing it using your 3 codes. It still boots up to " Read Forever"
And won't go any further. It acts like it's installing the update or installing
Back to the stock, but then it sticks.

I went back and re-read your answer. Am I wrong ? Is this just for if you are
Using an SD card to run your ROM with? You see I accidentally , some how removed
The emmc off of my internal drive... I think? When I put my SD card in to Change ROMs, it has a system , data, cache, sd card, sd-ext, but no emmc?
It acts like its installing the ROMs but you take the so card out and power on, and it
Sticks at Read Forever? I think I've really goofed this time!

"emmc" section on a NC is just where you store media files. It has nothing to do with storing a rom. Did you try to reinstall your stock rom? Look at my NC Tips thread linked in my signature for how to do that. Look at item A15.
And I'm not sure what you mean by installing my 3 codes.

Yes, I did try to reinstall the stock and it does nothing. It brings up the words " Read Forever" and and stays there. It won't do anything . As for the 3 codes/files. You told me to t o go to your singnature and download the 3 files in your signature which I did .
I'm still stuck.

It is possible that your NC internal memory has become read only. I have seen this happen rarely before. It acts like you are writing to it but nothing sticks. Successfully flashing the repair 14567 zip should have caused it to boot to cwm when you remove the SD. I am afraid your unit is toast.

I finally got my NC to come back on by plugging into a computer. SO I can at least get it back on.
Is it still toast?

Just because it fires up does not mean it will stop being read only, if it is. Unless you can get it to accept my repair zips or a rom, it is toast.

Rhonda61, I just reread your posts again and I am not sure that you flashed my repair zips correctly. Did you go to my repair thread linked in my signature and install (flash) the zips there? If you did, what were the results? When you took the SD out after flashing them, how did the device act?

I finally got everything to work. I was going to throw the NC away, and decided I would try one more time, and it worked. The results were after I flashed the partition 1,etc... and it would not do anything, until I flashed the partition 2, and still nothing, until I flashed the NC stock update.
BUT.... I just posted a new question, about it will only go to Stock 1.2. It will not let me
put 1.4 NC update on it, nor any of the custom Rom's ? Is there anything more I can do?

HELP!!! Screen not responding after CWM mods!!!

****. I accidentally clicked the option to partition internal SD card and it screwed up my phone!! Kept booting up in RSD mode so I tried flashing it. It boots but the bottom inch of the screen is misaligned by about a CM or so.
Tried the latest FW and the first to no avail. Redownloaded them and nothing. How can I fix this? Tried formatting internal SD card and going back to factory settings.
I'm in Canada and bought this off someone online so is my Atrix ****ed for good?

Sorry but this doesn't help. I noted how it was done. I accidentally partitioned the internal SD card. It was late at night and my contact lenses were bugging out.
Rebooted and it wouldn't boot. Using Droid Explorer to control my phone and trying to see what I can do. I'm thinking I somehow have to repartition the internal SD card so I'm trying to get CWM back on there.
If anyone could help that'd be amazing.
Can anyone help? I tried calling Motorola and they said I can't send it directly from Canada... am I SOL???
Hi,
I did the same thing ... could you fix it?
Your pds partition is messed up, you need to flash the pds partition fix. There's a post in either general or few about the fix

[Q] So I bought this Nook color off Craigslist....

Excited as all outdoors because it was already rooted. Got home, sat down and went to put in my information, hmmmmmm, I got it from a black guy but there's a asian gmail account. :sirens: Maybe he purchased it from the guy just as I've done. I enter my account info and try to remove his, the apps need his so I cant delete him. Nothing a wipe won't fix right? Wrong. So after reading here a very small amount I realize I may need the original owner's B&N account info to resolve this.
Anyone care to chime in on this before I bother this guy for my money back?
Try to do a full wipe and return to original firmware. Then register an account for BN. Flash to cm7 afterwards. Hopefully it will work.

If you use another rom like cm7 you won't have to worry about it. They don't register anything with Barnes and noble.

If you are already at CM7 on the NC, then you will have to delete the old gmail and youtube accounts and sign-in to your own gmail and youtube accounts.
I just did a complete wipe of everything (SD card included) and his information disappeared. Thanks for the replies! Now to really dig into this.

Try to do the 8 failed boots and you shouldn't have to worry about it...
8 failed = system recovery (will take it back to stock)
update to 1.2 if necessary
register with B&N if not going to CM7 (I do it anyway even using CM7)
Root or CM7
Now its how YOU want it... not some asian girl/guy/whatever.

If you are using CM7, the "CyanogenMod 7" logo appears when booted. There is no registration of the NC with CM7. CM7 is not rooting. It is firmware that replaces the B&N firmware.
A rooted NC will initially splash the "Read Forever tm" logo when booted. The older B&N firmware splashed "Touch the Future of Reading" logo, if I remember correctly. A rooted NC is the stock B&N firmware that has been altered to allow (root) access to the Android Market apps and still retain all the original B&N functions/features. A rooted NC does require registering the NC.
If the rooted NC is not registered to your B&N account, then:
1. Touch the "U" with the up-arrow icon, select Settings.
2. In Settings, select Device Info.
3. In Device Info, select Erase & Deregister Device.
4. Touch the Erase & Deregister Device button to start the process.
5. Follow any other instructions to complete the erase and deregister the NC process which may follow.
6. Reboot NC, it should return to stock setup, as when it was new.
7. Follow the instructions and register the device using your own B&N account.
8. Update NC to 1.2.
9. Root NC using ManualNooter 4.6.16. Instructions are here.
10. Enjoy!
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the info Bluepen.....I now have a new issue. Somehow, someway I've managed to be in a boot loop, the funny part is it's flashing between the CM7 splash and ClockworkMod Recovery. I've been searching since last evening to no avail, not one single instance matches this one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've tried the 8x boot thing, I can't tell if it's even shutting down. Also tried the three finger deal, may need to do more research on that one. I've also formatted my sdcard so basically I'm in route to stock which I don't mind if I can just get there.
Slowly but surely this thing will run like my Shift...!!!!! I got it, basically I'm registered with B&N and on the stock ROM, WHEWWWW!
I went to nookdevs.com ( http://mrm3.net/nook-color-recover-any-bricked-device/ ) along with the help perusing around here I was able to fix.
Cyanogen is up and running again.....

It is good that your NC is back running CM7!
Are you dual booting from/on emmc or booting from the micro sdHC memory card or have you applied CM7 to emmc overwriting theB&N firmware?

I've overwritten the B&N firmware, so I guess out of those three options it would be the latter.

[Q] Help! Cannot upgrade Cyanogenmod.

I have a nook color with CM7 (7.2). I want to upgrade to the new 10.2. How ever I seem to be having issues doing so. I tried going into the boot menu and doing the recovery mode but it never works. Sometimes the Barnes and Noble error comes up and asks if I want to restore to factory and even that brings back the old CM7. So can someone please help me either get this thing back to stock B&N so I can root it again fresh, or is there a way to upgrade this I am not getting? I installed the rom on the eMMC.
Thanks for the help. If this doent make sense or you need more info please dont hesitate to ask. My terminology isnt to sharp on this stuff.

You probably don't have CWM installed to internal memory. That B&N error is the stock recovery. You must make a bootable CWM SD to get CWM. Go to my NC Tips thread linked in my signature and make one per item A10.

Lets say i boot into cwm/twrp using SD or emmc i cant do a creen install (u know formatting data, cache, ect) and then did its time to install the rom, it installs like normal, no problem whatsoever, then installing g apps, same as before not a single problem or error message, then i reboot, see the cyanboot then its says "loading Emmc" or something close to that then the screen goes black, and stays black. weather 5,10,30 mins, an hour goes by nothing else will show on the screen. i though maybe i didn't format my cache (sometimes that's the problem on other devices in the past from booting) so i boot back into cmw/twrp and format it again, reboot, then after the cyanboot screen complete black screen, but i can run roms off SD fine but i dont like too

Hi leapinlar,
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I just dusted off my Nook Colour and want to take it back to stock. I followed your tips and used CWM-6.0.1.2-bootable_SD to restore back to nookcolor_1_4_3_signed.
I followed another threads instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931720) where it told me to first format data and format system. I then chose the nookcolor_1_4_3_signed to install and rebooted.
I've rebooted a couple of times now and it is stuck on the screen with the n and "Contains reader mobile tech by adobe.."
I then went back into CWM and chose the restore function but i'm getting the same result.
