Fast charging? - GiONEE Elife E7

Hello,
:silly: I think this is probably a stupid question, but I wonder if I could use so called "fast charging 2.0" charger which output is 9V and 1,67A or 5V and 3A one without frying my phone, because Gionee E7 has the snapdragon 800 and it would be a shame to not take the advantege over it and their stock 5V and 1A charger is taking too much time to charge. I tried asking Gionee support this question but they kept asking for my phone number and did nothing
I hope someone could provide me answers about it

i charge my e7 with 5v 2A chrger came with meizu m1 note now its charging very fast as compere to original charger

Can I charge NExus 7 with a 5V 1A charger ?

Bought my Nexus in the US this summer, really enjoy this little beast.
I have a question regarding charging. The provided charger is a 5V- 2A charger but a US one. I have at home a HTC one X charger which delivers 5V - 1A. Can I use this charger ? What is the difference between 1A & 2A ?

I don't see how less amps would hurt it. It may not register a charge, or charge very slowly. I would wait for another opinion.
2A will charge faster than the 1A charger. That's the only difference.

On the flip side, can I use my N7 charger to charge my mobile (SG2)?
My SG2 charger is set for 0.7A, while the N7 charger is set at 2A.
Mine charges with the USB cable i use to transfer files, which is about 500mA. Works but slow.
checking around the net, that's what it say.
the USB port have a maximum of 500mA i believe. And i did noticed it tend to charge more slowly. While the provided Asus charger with USB port on it, it have 2000mA (or 2A). So i guess the Nexus 7 is made to be able to support up to 2000mA, while it will charge more slowly when connected to a computer's USB port.
I took out my PSP and its charger recently, and this charger is also 5V, 2000mA, except it's a round tip made to fit the PSP charging port.
I do have another 2000mA charger, it also have a round tip, luckily it fit on my Ainol Elf II tablet. I got this charger/power supply when i bought my HDMI switcher, it work without it, so it was sitting there for all this time, unused.
i'm gonna try charging it with the provided Asus charger now.

Yes. Your phone will not charge at the same rate as the N7, however.

Turbo?

In a review site someone claiming confidently that the G4P does support turbo charging despite no mention of this in specs. Does anyone have the G4P and a turbo charger can do a test?

Well, I don't think Motorola really advertised "Turbo" charging for G4 Play.
They advertised something else. Here's what it says on their site:
Moto G Play works with the 10W rapid charger (charger in-box), which gives you 5 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.

My supplied charger clearly says OUTPUT: 5.2V===2.0A

It does not support quickcharger, that works with 9v and 12v i already tried, but the supplied charger charges at 2.0 A. which is fast.

I am in the USA and bought the USA version XT1607.
The charger looks different it says 5V 0.5A.

Same here, both the Amazon and the non-Amazon version I bought had the 550mAh chargers.

The fact they package with a low spec charger in a $150 box is not a concern. I own dual and quad chargers I carry for phone tablet BT etc.
The question is a specific charger able to charge faster? I looked at the one supplied and it seemed to imply a 5V input then as much Amp as phone can take, which is usually about 1-1.5A til 85%.
Turbo, is I think like QC, it increases the voltage at low battery charge, such a charger would show say 12V or 9V output.
Is there any good charging app to watch what the phone is doing? I have iSmart, QC 2.0 and QC 3.0 devices I can test on.

The way I find best is to not use the phone and use a stopwatch and measure at 15m intervals.
It does take days to be ready with a low charge condition.
App I have used is Ampere but I find it unreliable as the act of using the phone means heat throttling down the charging speed, if you don't use the phone then Ampere sleeps and doesn't monitor.
From what I understand, it does support it but you have to buy an additional charger.
It definitely does some kind of fast charging because my Anker Powercore+ 10,050mAh power block charges it incredibly fast. I don't know what other charging methods the Anker does beyond qc2.0 since I have had the Anker less than 12 hours.

If this behaves like osprey (which I expect - I haven't yet examined the kernel), the hardware doesn't support the Qualcomm high voltage quick charging, but it does support regular charging up to 800 mA. The weak 550 mA charger bundled with the North American variants will not make the most of it, but a 1A charger or better should get full charging performance.

So does this mean the 2.0 A bundled chargers are bottlenecked, like they support 2.0 A and the phone supports only till 800 mA...am I thinking correct?
My XT1607 US unlocked retail version came with a 5V 550mA labeled charge plug. I used a cable and power plug from another device that rated at 5.2V and 1.35A and it drew about 1.4A from it. Then I dug out another USB adapter rated 5.3V, 2A . It consumed 1.78A and it was 80% charged at the time. That would make for some much faster charging than the original plug. Wouldn't matter much if you just plug it in overnight to charge.
Anyone confirm if the it supports QC 2.0? Only thing wrong e phone is slow charge from supplied.

I have used the turbo charger supplied with Moto G3 Turbo and it charges much faster than the one supplied in box. So yes it supports turbocharging but you need to get the charger elsewhere.

Logic fail. The supplied charge is feeble like 0.5A so anything like 1A or 2A is better.
That does NOT mean turbo is supported.
When I plug my G4 Play into my Anker 4 port power supply and then into a kilowatt meter, it draws 10 watts. If we work it backwards, that's 5v and 2 amps (however, need to account for line loss, transformer loss and other losses). A watt is a watt, doesn't matter what the voltage or amperage is, as W = V x A.
This phone charges much quicker than my old Moto G second gen, which would take close to 2 hours to fully recharge. I have had this phone recharge in as little as an hour from around 30%. It's a shame that the SD 410 chip supports QC 2.0 but Motorola didn't enable it. It seems to have QC 1.0 (which is the 10 watt, 5v @ 2amp rating).

Regular USB is 2A 5V 10W.

There is a new subset standard called USB power delivery, it's used for newer devices.
Quick charge 1.0 was 2 amp at 5v.

These phones charging at 2 amps is technically quick charge, whether it's the 1.0 revision or not is really down to licensing and stuff. They don't charge at 2.0 speeds unfortunately. Even though the chipset supports it.

Last week i bought an huawei M5 wifi only Version here in Germany from amazon. Its 32GB 4gb ram wifi only Version (non pro).
I noticed very slow charging speed with the provided quick charge power supply (huawai HW - 059200EHQ). From 10% batttery he tells me 4:29 minutes and with other chargers both quick charge ajd normal non huawai it shows 5:29 hours so 1 hour more.
Can anyone confirm the charging time because the m5 pro charges this in 2:10 minutes.
Disappointed that it does not have Qualcomm QC standard but Huawei's own FCP standard.

I have non pro 10.8" 64GB M5, when I'm connecting to charger, it says 4 or 5 hours, but 10-15 minutes later it says 2:15-2:30 hours... and usually it will be 100% within 150 minutes. So its charging is really fast - actually I can't see faster yet...
I don't know of estimated charging times but charging itself with the oficial power supply is really fast.

My M5 10 Pro will arrive soon, thanks for the info.
Might get the charger as the device doesn't support QC3...
An observation.
While using and charging my 8.4 M5 from a powerbank with type c port, and type c to type c cable I notice that the powerbank only maintains the charge.
This being 5v 3 amp so 15 watts.
The same powerbank has QC3 usb ports and when I use a USB to type c cable, the powerbank on the lcd display indicates 9v 2 amp, so 18 Watts, so actually charges the M5 slowly when also being used, which I have observed.
It therefore supports QC2, being 9v 2 amp, which to be fair, Huawei says it supports 9v 2 amp, even though they don't mention QC2.

I tried a couple of stock qc2 charger like Samsung and etc with didnt work.
Tried my Aukey QC3 charger too and same no fast charging.
All are measure by electrical measurement device.
Huawei makes its own SuperCharge capable powerbank, and it doesn't break the bank.

As my M5 came from Amazon Germany and I'm in the UK, I haven't had the opportunity to try the standard charger that came with it having the euro pins. Seeing as I'm currently on holiday in Greece, I bought my euro charger so will try it charging my powerbank. The powerbank will report the input voltage and current from the charger...
Edit: The supplied Huawei charger says quick charger on the side, and also lists 9v 2a output. Using it to charge my powerbank, it indicates a 9v 2a input.
So in my case all my QC2, and the included charger, all output 9v 2a correctly.

I too can confirm Aukey QC3 will not fast charge the M5. Nor will a 5V3A USB C to C method mentioned by stag74. HOWEVER it does work with an unbranded QC3 charger from Gearbest, so go figure.
It appears that what will or will not work with Huawei FCP is kind of a gamble except with their own or clearly marked FCP chargers.

The supplied charger can charge items that are QC2/3 at fast speed. However the reverse cannot be said for the M5. So instead of just bringing a dual port QC charger on holiday, we will need to bring the Huawei charger as well to quickly charge everything.

Has anyone found a cheap charger that will do both FCP for my M5 and also QC 2 or 3 for my LG V35? What about all the various smart voltage chargers like Ankers power port, etc? Shouldn't they detect the subtle difference bt FCP and QC and supply what the device wants to fast charge?
If I recall correctly, looking and specs on the individual chargers was something like 9v/2a for FCP Huawei charger and 9v/1.8a for the QC charger for my LG V35, which my M5 won't accept for fast charging.

Car dual quick charger
I have been using this Aukey dual port QC 3.0 charger and can verify that it fast charges both the M5 8.4 tablet and my Samsung Note 8 simultaneously. I drive a truck and use the M5 tablet as a GPS unit with SmartTruckRoute. The screen is on medium brightness for 10 to 14 hours a day and never falls below 100% while plugged in. I take it off of the charger to watch Netflix and YouTube videos while eating or while in the sleeper and it shows fast charging when I plug it back in.

Third Party Fast Chargers for S10+

Is it safe to charge Galaxy S10+ from a third party fast charger I was reading somewhere it's not recommended to charge Galaxy phones from any other chargers which is weird, can anyone confirm?

You can use it but must be same voltage and ampers its recommended. If you example use charger with higher voltage phone can't charge with that voltage and will be charged it with default voltage and ampers i personally use qc 3.0 charger with output 5A or 9A and with one usb port which have output 3.4A and i use usb TypeC cable wich have possibility share power with 3.4A

I dunno how to exactly measure it but as far as I am concerned its charging at a same speed the stock does.

Exactly that's the thing with this fast charging phenomena you never know what will fast charge your phone especially Galaxy phones but finally I am glad I got Anker one :good:

Charging Oneplus with QC 4.0 or any other standard apart WARP

If I charge Oneplus 8 pro with lets say Car Charger with supported standards PD 3.0/QC 4.0/ QC 3.0/ AFC , is there a downside? Or just slow charging speed?
And, is there a downside if I need to charge my phone at work for example to take notebook USB Type C charger and plug in... (again apart of slow charge)

The rate of charge just be slower, otherwise no problems, no.
I just got the 8 pro yesterday, IN2025. From what I've read and i just tested your charging speed will be better w/ PD as the phone does not support QC anything and just treats as it regular charging.
I tested the charging at ~70%.
USB PD, 4.2V/1.8A - 2A
QC 3.0 4.2V/1..2A
Warp Charging, 4.2V/4.8A
Warp with regular cable, 4.2V/1.2A
Regular charging 4.2V/1.2A

okay so my previous phone was a PD 3.0, I have a bunch of charger that are 3.0 which support up to 65W. What would it do with the OnePlus 8 Pro. will it be limited to 35W or will it go higher?

No, you will not get 30W from your PD charger, it will max out at 15W.
OnePlus only supports PD at 5V, likely because Dash charge only uses 5V. PD caps out at 3A for 5V, so 15W. PD achieves higher wattages by increasing the voltage rather than increasing the amperage like Dash Charge (hence why PD cables are generally thinner than Dash charge ones).

So in your case all chargers give less than required charging voltage?! AFAIK, only dash/vooc charges at battaries max voltage. others supply 5v. check your data
