Hi
Last week i bought an huawei M5 wifi only Version here in Germany from amazon. Its 32GB 4gb ram wifi only Version (non pro).
I noticed very slow charging speed with the provided quick charge power supply (huawai HW - 059200EHQ). From 10% batttery he tells me 4:29 minutes and with other chargers both quick charge ajd normal non huawai it shows 5:29 hours so 1 hour more.
Can anyone confirm the charging time because the m5 pro charges this in 2:10 minutes.
Disappointed that it does not have Qualcomm QC standard but Huawei's own FCP standard.

I have non pro 10.8" 64GB M5, when I'm connecting to charger, it says 4 or 5 hours, but 10-15 minutes later it says 2:15-2:30 hours... and usually it will be 100% within 150 minutes. So its charging is really fast - actually I can't see faster yet...
I don't know of estimated charging times but charging itself with the oficial power supply is really fast.

My M5 10 Pro will arrive soon, thanks for the info.
Might get the charger as the device doesn't support QC3...
An observation.
While using and charging my 8.4 M5 from a powerbank with type c port, and type c to type c cable I notice that the powerbank only maintains the charge.
This being 5v 3 amp so 15 watts.
The same powerbank has QC3 usb ports and when I use a USB to type c cable, the powerbank on the lcd display indicates 9v 2 amp, so 18 Watts, so actually charges the M5 slowly when also being used, which I have observed.
It therefore supports QC2, being 9v 2 amp, which to be fair, Huawei says it supports 9v 2 amp, even though they don't mention QC2.

I tried a couple of stock qc2 charger like Samsung and etc with didnt work.
Tried my Aukey QC3 charger too and same no fast charging.
All are measure by electrical measurement device.
Huawei makes its own SuperCharge capable powerbank, and it doesn't break the bank.
https://www.tvc-mall.com/details/hu...or-huawei-p10-mate-9-black-sku101705094a.html
^ I ordered from that site, and received it.
As my M5 came from Amazon Germany and I'm in the UK, I haven't had the opportunity to try the standard charger that came with it having the euro pins. Seeing as I'm currently on holiday in Greece, I bought my euro charger so will try it charging my powerbank. The powerbank will report the input voltage and current from the charger...
Edit: The supplied Huawei charger says quick charger on the side, and also lists 9v 2a output. Using it to charge my powerbank, it indicates a 9v 2a input.
So in my case all my QC2, and the included charger, all output 9v 2a correctly.

I too can confirm Aukey QC3 will not fast charge the M5. Nor will a 5V3A USB C to C method mentioned by stag74. HOWEVER it does work with an unbranded QC3 charger from Gearbest, so go figure.
It appears that what will or will not work with Huawei FCP is kind of a gamble except with their own or clearly marked FCP chargers.

The supplied charger can charge items that are QC2/3 at fast speed. However the reverse cannot be said for the M5. So instead of just bringing a dual port QC charger on holiday, we will need to bring the Huawei charger as well to quickly charge everything.
My wattage gauge broke
I ordered one and will receive it in a few days and will compare
It's fast. 20% to 70% in one hour.
20% to 93% in 1 and a half hour.
Great charging speed for a tablet.
10.8 wifi variant.
With the in box charger it charges the M5 64gb 10.8 100% in around 1½ hour, thats really good for a tablet in my opinion.
I tried my Mate 20X super charger, but it only charge it the normal slow speed, i was hoping for fast charge, but no

Has anyone found a cheap charger that will do both FCP for my M5 and also QC 2 or 3 for my LG V35? What about all the various smart voltage chargers like Ankers power port, etc? Shouldn't they detect the subtle difference bt FCP and QC and supply what the device wants to fast charge?
If I recall correctly, looking and specs on the individual chargers was something like 9v/2a for FCP Huawei charger and 9v/1.8a for the QC charger for my LG V35, which my M5 won't accept for fast charging.

I use this charger, does M5 Fast Charge just fine while being a QC3 charger, so should do both. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01GFDSO1M
Car dual quick charger
I have been using this Aukey dual port QC 3.0 charger and can verify that it fast charges both the M5 8.4 tablet and my Samsung Note 8 simultaneously. I drive a truck and use the M5 tablet as a GPS unit with SmartTruckRoute. The screen is on medium brightness for 10 to 14 hours a day and never falls below 100% while plugged in. I take it off of the charger to watch Netflix and YouTube videos while eating or while in the sleeper and it shows fast charging when I plug it back in.

Charging speed is mediocre and somewhat disappointing. Snapdragon 630 supports QCQC 4, yet included charger is only 1.5amp, and the QCQC 3.0amp charger I have does not help. It seems the charging speed is throttled by sony
Charging speed is somewhat fast for me. Mine charged a percentage a minute which is in line with other phones such as Galaxy and Pixel 2.

XA2 Ultra has a lot of voltage problems with some QC 3.0 chargers...
When it goes QC 3.0/Pump Express+ 2.0 it stops charging... No amps delivered on 11V...
The only charger that is currently working is the Google Pixel charger and charges at 9V...
QC3.0 chargers that i used and only works at 5V...
Failed QC 3.0 list:
1 . Blackweb QC PD charger... Doesnt go 15V sorry just 5V only
2. Sony UCH12.... Doesnt charge when it goes QC 3.0
3. AK QC 3.0... It goes 9V at boot... The IC goes back to 5V...
Success charging list...
Google Pixel Charger: static 9V Power Delivery no random IC changes so far...
I highly recommend using Power Delivery chargers WITHOUT QC label on it. It stays static at all the times...
I recommend using Satechi voltage tester if you have trust issues charging with this phone...
Ill update the success and fails charger list... I'll be selling the sony chargers IRL cuz im disappointed...
Model: TC G1000-US
For now stick with the Google Pixel charger

in my stock charger it charges 44% in 30mins and 1hr 30mins to full charge. Difference is only about 20% while it should be 50% more faster as 27W is 50% more power of 18W.

I have two power delivery charger both capable to charge up to 60w. When I connect phone to both charges doesn't matter which one and which cable I use currently it always display fast charging text and icon. Why it doesn't go on turbo charging? If I know the phone support qc 4.0 and PD and it should turbo charge on my chargers, right? Anyway I noticed 3300-3600 mAh however it doesn't really look charge as fast as in reviews.
Some people reported 4A but according to qc 4.0 specification it's rather about 3A at 9A. What's the real charging voltage for our Xeromi?

But non of them shows Turbo Charging. Not even the Quick Charging message comes up when using the original 18W charger.

It's not a bug i guess... Its a OS thing .. some custom rom uses the force fast charge option... Then the phone will charge fast even we use the phone or play games.. but in stock roms they disabled the force fast charge thing... So when in idle, phone charges around 3000mah but when using the phone it comes down to around 1000mah or even lower while playing games

1 hour 40 mins with 25w charger...
Any one used some charger with 45/50w? ;D
I want to know how much faster this smart can charge lol.i bought the 30w charger and i think is very fast a great smart too
I'm having serious issues with 3 of my Samsung 15W chargers. Never had a problem with LG G6, Samsung S6, S7, S9 and the odd device here and there while on Rog Phone 2 it will quick charge 1/20 times with it.
And believe me. You don't want to charge with the regular 5V charger mode. It will take hours upon hours.
Maybe it has something to do with the latest OTA.

Normal charging speed, just like 4000-5000 mah phones batterys from 2013 same speed nothing special.
6000mah what more u expect ?

QC 3 is great, I dont use the wireless charging.
I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the quick charging speed. I had the Essential phone before this and loved the 27w fast charging with USB PD. The G8X charges really slow in comparison. I've tried QC 3.0 adapters and USB PD adapters and just can't find something that I would call "quick" by today's standards.
im using a xiaomi remi note 8 pro charger to quick charge, the one in the box doesn't give me "Fast charge" icon
using the stock usb-c charger, I get pretty good fast charge. wireless is a bit slower but I use it to avoid fast charge anyway to preserve the battery health.

I agree. It is unstable charging. In my cause power ( A) is jumping, also QC3/unknow is swapping very ofter. Just connect USB meter. Strange. There is an option for save charge, but On/Off causes no difference to me.
ive tried 5 different chargers but this phone does not charge more than 10w on any chargers QC 2.0, 3.0 AND 4.0+ usb AtoC CtoC tested on usb tester. it will spike to 13w maximum then go stable 10w all the way. Can anybody test on their phone to confirm this? ive tried these chargers on xiaomi and realme phone they would charge upto 17w
Lg g8x charging speed
Tried every charger starting from 15W and up to 40W. QC 3.0 to 4+, Dash charge, Warp charge, Super charge, Adaptive Fast charge. 0 to 100% takes 2 hr 12 min.
LG g8x refuses to charge faster with any of them. When world moves to faster charging protocols incl. long hesitant apple for iPhone, LG does the opposite. LG and Qualcomm mentions that QC 4.0 supported in their official websites which should support 27 W, but with any charger phone accepts max. of 13 W in my testing.
I have been using LG phones for long only because of quad DAC. For people like me who wants to support LG, this slow charging is a real issue.
I understand that V60 comes with 25W qc 4.0 inbox charger which charges 0 to 100% in around 1 hr 45 min for 5000 mAh battery as per YouTube reviews.
Now the only question left for me is that can 25W V60 charger be used to charge g8x battery of 4000 mAh in 1 hr 30 min. Has anyone tried charging g8x with V60 charger? If so, can some post changing time.
I would really like someone to use Mi Pocket Powerbank Pro available in India a 22.5 W Quickcharge (don't know which Qualcomm level, guessing QC3) powerbank specifically using a super high quality cable either the Blauplunkt Flat USB 2 to type C or the Ikea Type C to Type C cable using the type C Power Delivery (PD) output port of this powerbank which I believe would be the topmost setup ever for charging this device. Is the Max fastcharge rating 18w of this device?? As such I did not even mention Redmi 30w powerbank. Which is the QC4 power adaptor or powerbank which can be bought in India?
If rooted you can get fast charging via a magisk module. It charges fast even with screen on... Which is what annoys me about the phones that restrict it to approx 1000. They still limit temperature to 46C
Turbo is 2750mah, super turbo is 3000mah
Normal is 2450mah and 45C limit.
Also recommend the intelligent power control magisk module, better than acc. I'm using 90 max 86 back on. Works great!

It helps where keeping the screen on, the charging speed is not reduced. Before this, keeping the screen on would reduce the charge rate a lot.
Now I'm on s21 and they severely limit charge rate once the battery reaches 37C.

Fast charging is pretty decent. I enjoy being able to use the fast charging from Samsung plugs as well as Google and even motorola. Some of those kids they don't use the same voltage they call themselves fast charging! Be sure to be aware of the age of the USB-C cable that you have appropriate USB cable...I find that the older usb-c cables tend to throttle the charging speed.
I use the magnetic C to C cables myself. Full speed charging whether AC or car adapter. The next best thing to wireless charging. I bought a couple sets so that one cable stays at work, at home, in the car, and I have a couple spares if I need to take one with me anywhere.
I use a generic usb-c charger that I bought at "5 Below" along with a 10ft usb-c to usb-c braided cable. For $16 total. ($8 each. I know it's called 5 Below, but they have an extended price section in tech. Up to $10-12).
On Ampere, I register 3650ma charge rates. Which is about 20-21 watts @ 5v. Which is interesting to me... Considering both the pixel and the charger are rated at 18w max.
The charger also has an automatic switch to 9v @ 2a, and 12v at 1.5a.
I can charge from 0 to 50% in about 25-30 minutes.
Granted it's no Ferrari by today's high end standards that can fully charge a 4500mah battery in 15 minutes. Lol
It's still not too shabby. And for the price, I don't think I could have done any better.
