Hi Guys,
I purchased my note 3 from a guy for really cheap and it turned out to be SM-N9005 LTE version from HONG KONG!! it only has 16gb hard drive too
I've also found out that LTE doesn't work in Canada with Asian version - Can anyone confirm this?
Tethering also doesn't seem to work... is this an issue only the HK version is having or did anyone else bother trying this?
Thanks
Well, that is to be expected, as the Hong Kong LTE bands are 1800, 2300 and 2600, and the Canadian ones are 1700 and on a rare occasion 2600. Your provider uses an LTE band your phone can't see. There's a reason that phone is only available in China...
Hello!
I've bought a Chinese version of OP2 and it seems to be doesn't have Band 20 LTE support (800 MHz). :crying:
And I was wondering if it's possible to unlock the band like for OPO?
That's not known yet, but I've got my doubts.
I was scared as you after see that I bought the chinese version which doesn't have the 800mhz; but I checked on this site if my phone will work on the LTE of my carrier:
http://www.willmyphonework.net/
Fortunately it works. The real problem is that the chinese version, having only one IMEI, doesn't allow the use of dual sim outside of the China.
Hope your LTE works!

That's not true regarding the dual Sim, it works in standby mode and can be used when primary Sim is not in use (I know this as I have the Chinese version of the handset and I am using 2 Sim cards).

Yeah can confirm this is the same in Australia.
Yes I have LTE, I've checked before buying, but It still one of the Bands I would like to have (it works well inside the buildings).
And yes, bouth SIMs work in dual standby mode.
Has anyone tried using the same guide used in OnePlus One?

me too! I've also bought a chinese version of OP2 and I wanted to unlock band 20.
Also subscribing to the thread! I'm going another way: I have the American version and want to use it in Europe (Poland in particular, so I need band 3).
Has anyone tried the unlocking guides on OP2? Is it only a software issue or do the modems actually differ?

I haven't gotten them unlocked. I tried the opo method, denied. I'm using it on hspa+ and really can't tell any difference from LTE. Just my opinion.

I like use the band 800 in México LTE.
One person respond my question and the process to ONO no function.
Do you have information about other team/member working in this topic?
I followed the same procedure as oneplus two, but stuck on drivers installation.
Would be glad to have a solution on this.
I really need this I have messed up... I had to use a post forwarding service so I found a US one and I live in norway and got the US model.. I have asked if I can trade it for a EU one but they can't because of their policies.. Anyone know what band I need for it to work on LTE in Norway?

I think you can find something interesting reading information below:
With the OnePlus 2, we’ve taken some extra steps to ensure that our device works flawlessly in all the markets we support. A crucial component (no pun intended) is bands support. As you may be aware, LTE bands across the world differ significantly for various reasons (let’s talk about why that is some other time) and certain hardware restrictions make it so that you can only support so many bands in one device.
Thus, there is a trade-off between having all the bands and manufacturing complexity - the more bands you want to support, the more region-specific SKUs you have to create. We opted to make two different versions for two different regions - one EU/India, and one that we call North America. These are both OnePlus Global phones; they ship with Oxygen OS and the proper band support for your region. Besides those, there’s also the Chinese version that ships with Hydrogen OS and Chinese LTE support - this one is not available on oneplus.net (and is almost certainly the version you will get if you buy from anywhere else).
Here’s a breakdown of the differences (for EU/NA, bands in bold only available on that version):
Note that compatibility here refers to LTE, the fastest network currently available. The slower 2G/3G GSM frequencies (below referred to as GSM and WCDMA) are less fragmented and you should be able to get data almost worldwide with the included 2&3G bands regardless of the version. Use http://www.willmyphonework.net/ for easy reference.
EU/Asia
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/40/41
3 and 20 are used almost all over Europe, but not at all in North America. Band 8, although available in both versions, is used in Europe and India but is seeing increasing adoption worldwide.
North America
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17
For NA, the removal of bands 3 & 20 allows us to add all the GSM bands you’ll need.
China
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: 1/2/5/8
TD-SCDMA: 34/39
TDD-LTE: 38/39/40/41
FDD-LTE: 1/3/7
The Chinese version will have very limited 4G compatibility in Europe and North America. More importantly, it only has one IMEI meaning you will not have dual-SIM capability outside of China. If you like having dual SIMs, do not buy the Chinese version.

Here is procedures to unlock LTE bands in Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Both mobiles (Xioami and OP2) built same processor so maybe this method is for us. I did not tried it yet.

I was planing to ask my friend to get me a Nexus 6p from US and bring it over to Europe and I was wondering if there are different versions of Nexus 6P for US and Europe (with different sets of LTE bands ) ? Will I have a problem of using it with European GSM bands (specifically the LTE/4G) ?
Thanks

LTE/4G will be a problem
Agreed, the US version has less bands than the international version. It does not have band 8, which is what most of the UK's 4g network runs on. There are a few exceptions, but most of them work of band 8.

This, it's also missing band 20, which is used for 4G networks in the Netherlands and most of mainland Europe as far as I know. Basically a US Nexus 6P won't work on 4G/LTE in Europe.

Ahh, ok then :/ That was my shot to get this phone cheaper, it's ridiculous how expensive it is here compared to US .
Thanks for the response.
I know that here in Ireland Vodafone (my carrier) use both band 20 and band 3, with band 3 usage being more recent. I am doing my research at the moment but am hoping that if I get a US Nexus 6P I will be able to use it here with Vodafone LTE on band 3.
Crossing fingers,
M
Where can I find more info on these various nexus 6p variants?

US Version and International have the same amount of bands just different ones. No one in Europe runs on band 8. UK runs mostly on 3/7/20. So most likely you will get LTE coverage from your carrier unless you're with O2 or Vodaphone since they only support band 20.
US: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/30
International: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/19/20/28
Use an app like LTE Discovery to see what band you're using in your most frequented places.

Hi

Now I'm really frustrated without lte .....

About to move overseas and looking at a phone to take with me to have working as soon as I throw a sim in it. My question is, if I purchase a Axon 7 from Best Buy will it work on the bands throughout the UK and Germany? Thanks in advance for any help.
I don't know which bands the US-version of the Axon 7 supports but in Germany you will need Band 3 and 20.
3 in crowded citys and 20 on the countryside.
7 is also assigned but mostly unused (only by O2/Telefonica I think).
These Bands are supportet by the European-version:
TD-LTE:Band 38/40/41
FDD-LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/19/20/28AB
UMTS: Band 1/2/4/5/8
GSM: Band 2/3/5/8
The retail price with taxes included in Germany for the Axon 7/4GB764GB is 449€

The US model has the same GSM and HSPA bands as the European/Global model (as well as CDMA support), and LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/20/29/30/25/26/41.
So the only difference between US and Europe model is the charger plug and warranty? the devices are 100% equal?
