LTE/Tethering not working :( - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I purchased my note 3 from a guy for really cheap and it turned out to be SM-N9005 LTE version from HONG KONG!! it only has 16gb hard drive too
I've also found out that LTE doesn't work in Canada with Asian version - Can anyone confirm this?
Tethering also doesn't seem to work... is this an issue only the HK version is having or did anyone else bother trying this?
Thanks

Well, that is to be expected, as the Hong Kong LTE bands are 1800, 2300 and 2600, and the Canadian ones are 1700 and on a rare occasion 2600. Your provider uses an LTE band your phone can't see. There's a reason that phone is only available in China...

S4 from Greece. Will it work on Canada

Hey guys a friend of mine wants to buy an S4 from Greece. Will it work properly in Canada with their carriers?
Thanks in advance!
yes, it will work in canada as the base GSM frequecies are the same. the issue is with UMTS frequencies.
If it is international octa version LTE will not work.
If itis an LTE it may not work depending on frequency and what carrier he plans to use.
He wants to use it with rogers.... you know if it will work?
Rogers informed us that they use 850,1900 for 3G HSPA LTE etc...and recently they 2600 MHZ for LTE.

If anyone on AT&T gets a P-605M please post your results. I'd sell my P-601 and get a P-605M if it in fact supports AT&T's LTE bands. "700MHz" is a pretty broad swath as it's used by both VZW and AT&T. AT&T's specific 700MHz band is "17" while VZW's is "7." So 700MHz doesn't guarantee compatibility with AT&T. The difference in 700 MHz bands is why VZW and AT&T devices can't be used across their respective networks.
anyone out there who can help please do.

[Q] International Note 3 on T-Mobile

Hello there!
I reside in the UAE and recently bought a Note 3 4G LTE SM-9005 (Snapdragon Variant).
I will be moving to Chicago, USA and wanted to know if I will be able to use the 4G. I see that T-Mobile supports 2100MHz, 1900MHz, 1700MHz and 850MHz. The international Note 3, the one which I have supports 800MHz, 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz. Seeing that I support one band, will 4G work on T-Mobile? Also, will 3G work? And if so, will the dual 3G work where I get 2 streams of 21MBPS?
If not on T-Mobile, will any other carriers work?
Thanks in advanced, Zain.
PS. I have read other forms but seem to get two answers, some say it will work and some say it won't. Just wanted some clarification.

I use my SM-N900W8 in Hong Kong and it is nearly, if not exactly alike as the SM-N900T. I can say that even in HK I get 4 - 5 bars of LTE, and worst case scenario I get 3 bars of 3G/H+
I also used an N9105 - Note II LTE, with the exact same bands as the SM-N9005 (the one you have), but the problem was that I couldn't get enough bars as my N900W8 did. The phone got really hot when it searched for reception (as it was usually at 2-3 bars), whilst at the same spot, I would get 4-5 on my N900W8. So to answer your question, yes, they should work, except your reception would be lower than an American banded phone.

Snapdragon is not the International version, your title is confusing. International version is Exynos and has no US LTE.

Actually, international is N9005, Snapdragon.
The Exynos edition is only being sold in select areas. Most people here use Snapdragon as it is easier to get, but most N900s are found in India. Hong Kong would only sell international phones, unlocked, and they are all N9005.
Regardless. If you have the 9005, you have the Snapdragon, and it should come with LTE, but may not contain the right bands for the US as Neo said above.

Region doesn't matter in fact I got my device from France, but had Hong Kong firmware on it. Later to get KitKat I flashed Poland firmware.
as for the bands T mobile mainly uses 1700MHz so you won't get LTE doesn't matter if you change the APN, I tried. You will get HSPA+ which isn't horrible, its enough to watch HQ YouTube videos.
idk about ATT though when I looked it up I remembered it being able to, but now that I look at doesn't look like it can...

Vodafone UK uses Band 20 & Band 7 for LTE & the Chinese OP2 (A2001) only has Bands 1, 3 & 7 enabled.
So, if you're not in a Band 7 area (very limited ATM), you won't be able to use LTE.
Flashing a radio won't help as the three different models have different bands enabled in hardware.
Only the European/Asian version (A2003) has Band 20 enabled.
Ref:
EU/Asia (A2003)
LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
North America (A2005)
LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17
China (A2001)
LTE: 1/3/7
ah ok thanks for the reply mate I appreciate it, looks like im either stuck with the device on 3G until band 7 is rolled out or see if anyone local wants to swap ha
