Wizard Screen Problem

Hello guys ... never thought i`d post a problem thread but here i am.
Here is the situation: sometimes the screen graduately fades to black&white vertical lines. It happens 90% of the time i use the volume key in Today screen, sometimes it happens sudently when i`m navigating windows menus (Programs, Settings), and oftenly in iGo (2006). Problem doesn't ocur when the keyboard is out.
I have searched but nobody seems to have this problem.
P.S. Attached a zip with a short movie of what exactly happens, maybe someone has a solution.
I thought a OS upgrade would solve the problem, but it didn`t (i recently upgraded to TNT WM 6.1). Could it be my wizard is a G4 and i used soft spl to upgrade? (didn't install a original rom before upgrade)

I have a different screen problem. My touch screen does not recognize when I do try to use touch selection using my finger or stylus. Anyone with any suggestions?

I`ve found a thread on the HTC Hermes forum:

It seems to be a loose display connector, or not sufficient pressure on it. Hope i`ll get the time to disassemble the wizard to see if i can fix the darn think.
Nobody else with this problem, or other solutions?

I took the darn thing apart a couple of months ago, and noticed that the problem is with the display cable ... when the slide is closed, the cable is bent (at 180 deg), and probably the cable wires have thinned. (the problem never appeares with the slide open.
Didn`t think of a way to fix that darn bend, so i`m back at square one. Did notice though that the fadeing seems to be in direct connection with the backlight setting.

I have had the same problem as the first post and now I've got the problem of the second, any ideas?

Try flashing the 2.19er Radiorom, that solved this problem for me.

[Q] Replacing LCD and or Digitizer

Hey guys,
I just ended up with a g1 for a good deal. Only problem is that the touchscreen has a problem were it will shake back and forth between screens. I mean If im on the home page, and i slide it left or right to the other pages. It dances between the 2 for a couple for a seconds. Also I cant touch anything in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. So that brings me to my question. Since the glass is intact, that would mean that the digitizer is busted? As you may have noticed I really dont know. But if anyone could offer any help in my direction because I'd like to fix this myself. As Always...

As for me, this problem started when i`ve replaced the digitizer with a new one. It seems exactly the same as you described. I`ve noticed, that it dissapears temporary when i block the device (power button) and unblock it again. But sooner or later it appears again.
I suppose it is some internal bad contact in connection or in a flexcable of touchscreen.
However, not solved this problem yet.

Seems to be that i found a solution at least for my G1. I`ve installed a new CyanogenMOD 6.1.0-RC1 (i had 6.0.0 previously) - and the problem is not appearing for at least 2 hours!
I suppose it is somehow related with software handling of touchscreen taps.

LG gt540 touchscreen problem SOLVED

Hello all, I hope this post can help you with the same or similar problem I had.
My LG gt540 started having a problem 2 months ago, the touchscreen got offset by 2 centimetres(1 inch) verticaly down, this was very annoying specially texting and couldnt access the top panel. Ex: to unlock the phone I had to press 1 inch above the green button.
Sometimes(I dont know why) it went back to normal, but about a week since the problem started it just got permanent, I tried rebooting, taking the battery, etc, nothing worked... Even tried to go to the calibration option but the offset was to much so it said out of range...
Then I read something online about the heat caused touchscreen problems, so I was thinking... hardware dont really like heat, and I always carry my phone on my pocket, the body heat could be damaging the touchscreen, lets try cold, it could solve it, long shot but what do I have to lose?
Left my phone in the freezer for 10 minutes, turned on, and it worked! for 1 month now its back to normal!
Hope it helps you, but try first freezing it powerd off, may be safer.

i have got my phone 2,5 years and i havent got any insue with the touch screen

I've had screen calibration problems since i started flashing custom roms.
In my case the screen positions are slightly off at the right side of the screen. When I want to type an "p" i have to touch where the "o" is on a german keyboard.
I'm trying your solution right now.

I have problems for the outer 4 sides.
It's worth to try.

Didn't work for me, it was only fine for 5 minutes....

Also didn't work for me.
Besides, after puting it in the freezer the display protection foil now looks a bit strange.

I want to ask you guys who already tried this method. Did it work?

Hi all dear members. Since the first day i bought this phone i've been seeing lots of screen issues about it but i never thought i would have one. It's proved me wrong.
So here's my problem, my device has developed halo all around it when the bg color gets grey. Most of the time , it's not obvious. I can live with that. Recently, my screen starts to show me some tv-like stripes every now and then, it doesn't last long. after one second or two, it disappera and then it'll show from time to time.
I'm afraid it's just the start. It's similar to most of the issue ppl claim as screen flikering or screen jittering or shaking screen, it's a bit different though.
Has anyone encountered the same issue. More importantly, has anyone found any solutions yet? I searched google and failed to find answers. And i looked into it on Baidu,a chinese search engine, where i found some answers that claims it's not the screen issue ,instead , it's just the ribbon cable is lose. And anyone who replace a new screen for that is stupid.I'm just not sure about this.
My phone was bought on the internet and shipped to China, thus, I don't have warranty to rely on. And my phone is only 10 months old. I never dropped it and i have kept it well.(LG logo on the rear back still falls off), I just don't get why LG made this so vulnerable.
Even though i have ordered the nexus 6, my g2 running CM12 is still crazily fast and I don't want to give up on it. I'm so happy about my d802 except for all issues about the screen.

Hi, I also have a problem with the screen on my lg g2, appeared to me that the white line disappears and comes back, when I do print screen and transfer the image on the computer that line is not visible, and that line is not always the same intenziteta.Try to do print screen and set an image or we send the mail to compare the problem

i'm so pissed about the screen, yes, my gnex bought 3 years ago looks yellow and ****ty. but other than that, totally fine, but for g2, ive read so many complaints about it. Guess no one has figured it out. Maybe I will open my phone and try to figure out when the screen completely goes crazy. During I type, it has happed for 4 times . so very annoying.

I think you should try to put in some rom, I hope it's a software problem, I found the solution for my phone cloudy g3:good:

i flash different cm12 nightlies. i don't think its a software related issue. I'm not the only one with this issue. Yesterday I opened this phone ,well with my fingernails. And coz I didn't have the right screwdriver, I wasn't able to open that black cover at the button down bellow the battery, but I cleared the places around the USB port and there's a black tape glued near the camera , I pressed it and I put the phone together and guess what, the problem was gone for one day, and I will continue to keep an eye on it.
