This is garbage, my 6P will not sleep anymore on 6.0.1. I am stock, rooted, ElementalX, and Xposed.
Not running anything to crazy but this wakelock is destroying my battery. Anything I can do short of a factory reset?
It's related to your location services. Do you have high accuracy for all apps? Maybe have location history enabled on Google Maps
I have both enabled. Prior to 6.0.1 this was a non issue. I have the same settings on my Nexus 9 on 6.0.1 and the device will not be held awake :/
This has been driving me nuts lately too. 6.0.1 stock rooted. The only solution I've found so far is Amplify to limit the wakelock but I'd like to keep Android Pay working... At least until they change root detection methods.
Probably a little late to this thread but I have a possible reason for this issue... I am not a developer so this is only based on my practical experiments..
I used to face this problem till very recently on my Nexus 6p.. no matter which kernel or ROM I use... some nights the phone doesn't sleep at all and then I see the culprit is nlpcollector wakelock. If I restart, the problem goes away for a day or two but then comes back again...
Then I noticed that every post I have seen with this issue on the internet has related to people with rooted phones (else you wouldn't be able to use BBS ) and most had made modifications to the doze parameters (using whichever app).. So I reset my doze parameters to default.. Since the last 2 weeks I haven't seen this issue anymore..
My guess is that one of my customized doze parameters is breaking the functionality but I can't figure out which one.. Tried resetting only the location based parameters but the wakelock returns.. My only solution is to reset all the doze settings..
Obviously the other solution is to set up xposed and download amplify or other such apps to block the wakelock.. I haven't tried it but should work..
PS - I still have location history on and location set to high accuracy. So that is not the culprit.

My phone's battery has been sucked dry way too fast since ~may 25.
I am and have always been on stock rom, and I only rooted the phone this weekend in order to use BetterBatteryStats and Wakelock Detector.
I estimate that during a day of heavy use for me before the end of may, the battery usage cannot have been much above 5%/h
According to BBS the phone used 6.4%/h over 7h30m this morning with less than a minute of screen on-time.
None of these things have helped significantly:
Disabling automatic syncing
Setting location mode to "device only"
Uninstalling EVERY third-party app except these most essential: Authy, Barcode Scanner, BetterBatteryStats, Dropbox, DSB Wildcard, LastPass, Sleep as Android (and addons), SuperSU.
Factory reset
*Upgrading to Android 4.4.3
Disabling WiFi to see if that would make a difference
Disabling mobile network data
Using recovery mode to wipe cache
My conclusions (please correct me if i'm wrong):
The drain is not caused by any third party app that I have removed without seeing an improvement
The drain is not caused by Google's location service or account syncing
The cause is not Android itself. I used 4.4.2 for 6 months without problems, and I only upgraded to 4.4.3 last week
The problem is independent of location (WiFi and cell towers). During the 7h30m when I collected the data below and got the corresponding graph, I was both at home, at work and commuting between the two, and I can't see any difference on the graph.
The problem is not related to the runtime, because i used ART almost since it was released with android 4.4 and after the factory reset I have used Dalvik
My suspects:
The issue started while the new version of Google Play Services was rolling out. Maybe it ****ed something up?
Batteries consist of multiple "cells" right? Maybe one of them (about 50% I think) broke?
I have uploaded a logfile from BetterBatteryStats below. That data was collected with account syncing disabled, location mode set to "device only" and only the third-party apps mentioned above installed.
Please contribute with any relevant insight or idea, and don't hesitate to ask for more info or propose experiments, to narrow down the possibilities.
Thanks

Have you tried wiping cache and dalvik cache in recovery? Give them a wipe and let's hope that stop the battery drain.

Hey taodan, thanks for the suggesion. :good:
I forgot to mention that I have used ART almost since it was released with Android 4.4, but I haven't changed the runtime since i did the factory reset.
So I have had the battery draining issue with both runtimes, which makes me think that the it is not related to the runtime I'm using.
I have tried wiping cache from recovery at least once, but I can't remember if I did that before or after the factory reset.
Do you still think that wiping dalvik cache will help?
I will update the original post with the info I forgot here.
Hey guys, i have been used S5 since 5 months with this problem (from the start) i am not sure, i cant think it as it's malfunctioning (by internal) so i am sure it's something else. So far, i used firstly STOCK ROM (4.4.2 + upgraded officially to 5.0) On Both Update, i had Root, SuperSU.
Used official 5.0 update for months, and still had this problem about device getting alot of awaken wakelocks, like, every 3 - 5 min it gets awaken for short period, sometimes (like 1/20 of total awaken period) it is awaken for more then minutes, i couldn't find the issue, so i used it so. On WiFi, it's totally silent! nothing suspicious on stats, device lasts even long on stand by, but on mobile data (when screen is off) it just drops! like, 1-2%/hour (dunno really, may be wrong).
What i did is, get CM12 Latest nightly (5.0.2), furthermore i installed SuperSU as primary root, Tit backup, 7-8 xposed modules, now i installed amplify (Xposed module, helps find and kill wakelocks).
I have found many wakelocks, services, alarms. I reseted the stat, opened mobile data, let it be so for minutes like 10-20minute, and opened to see wakelocks, what i find is alot of wakelocks on different stuffs, mostly Google Play Services. I made it so they cant trigger the phone's wakelock more then once every 9999 second (to make sure i can find out the issue of the problem), now i killed so many that i even killed clock timer, ticker, GSM Broadcast things etc, so i get almost no notification, no any clock is even showing accurate cause if the wakelocks i limited. I did it, nope, it's still same, not less or more, i still couldnt find the issue, i killed or limited so many wakelocks, services and alarms yet i couldnt find it, i dont know what to do, i did install many, many, many times fully fresh ROM through odin several times, fully new installation few times, yet same problem occurs.
My question is, what can i do to find it? Amplify is greater than those Wakelock monitor things, cuz Amplify app finds them, and lets you set up how many times they can wake up the device every (x) seconds, guys i need help please could someone put their few minutes on this and troubleshoot it? i did everything i could (no, no any xposed modules are affecting it, on stock s5 rom 5.0 it isn't compatible with xposed, so xposed is not the cause).
Neither is FB Messenger app (if so, everyone should experience it) neither is Viber, nor any other apps (counting these cuz i dont have any apps that runs in background, from what i know...)
Also, last analyze. I set up Data connection monitor, and let it monitor total mobile data connection for +8 hours of being idle on charge, and found it downloaded 2.2mb of data in total, as of upload i dunno, it was however alot less than downloaded, i dont think it is really using my data, or? even so, it should even trigger during WiFi, why it only happens on Mobile data then?
THANK YOU ALOT for reading it!
The short version: I have kernel wakelocks bluesleep and msm_serial_hs_dma, which keep my phone from going to deep sleep until I kill and disable the bluetooth-adapter-service.
This is what I tried till now:
I updated my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) from Android 4.4.2 (I9505XXUGNG8_I9505ATOGNF1_I9505XXUGNG8 ROM, Austria unbranded, phone was originally "3 Hutchison" branded) to 5.0.1 (I9505XXUHOE3), that was downloaded automatically via OTA. I rooted the phone with philz-touch (had rooted 4.4.2 also). I noticed a very heavy battery drain, but only after I had already "cleaned" some of the bloatware. Battery life was less than 10 hours, while it held out almost 2 days with my usage pattern on 4.4.2. So I did a factory reset, which didn't help. I started disabling services, including system services until the point where WIFI and bluetooth wouldn't work anymore at all (even enabling the services again didn't help). But at least I noticed that the battery drain was gone and it seemed to be one of the bluetooth system services.
Since I had to reinstall anyway, I used the I9505XXUHOF2_I9505OXAHOF2_I9505XXUHOF2 ROM (Germany unbranded, I couldn't find an Austrian UHOE3 or UHOF2 to download). Also did a factory reset of course. The battery drain was there again. This was even before rooting the phone, which I then did again to have more options to find the culprit (but I did not uninstall anything that came with stock). BBS showed me the bluesleep and msm_serial_hs_dma wakelocks. The wakelocks stayed no matter if bluetooth was enabled or not. I even flashed the modem on its own (although my phone info showed the right UHOF2 baseband before already), because this sometimes seemed to help people. Didn't change anything either.
In the end I narrowed it down to a single thing I have to do after installing stock (and rooting): disable the Bluetooth-> AdapterService (com.android.bluetooth.btservice.AdapterService) with the "Disable Service" app. The wakelocks are gone and I get almost two days of battery life (a little bit worse than on 4.4 though). Of course bluetooth will now not work at all until I reenable the service and reboot (and remember to disable and reboot as to not have my phone dead in a few hours).
I don't use bluetooth on a daily basis, but killing a system service can't be the solution. Why are the wakelocks there in the first place, even when I never had bluetooth active after a reboot? Are there different hardware revisions and you can't flash all you want? Since most people seem not to have a problem like this on a stock ROM after a factory reset, the only difference can be the hardware, or not?
Hi,
bumping your thread and a question for ya, is 5.0.1 that bad? I'm still on 4.4.2 stock and I did notice a OTA update notification, but I didn't accept it yet.

If the thing bluetooth wouldn't happen (which it obviously does not for everyone or the outcry would be much bigger), there's nothing wrong with it. After I killed bluetooth completely battery life is only slightly reduced compared to 4.4. I liked the dark look of 4.4 more though. Now everything has a bright background. But that's personal preference.
Hi, I'm having some serious battery drain issues on OOS 3.0.2, I checked the Battery drain section and it shows 'Google App' as top drainer..any advice?
Also as a side note, is there any way I can block incoming calls? Thanks!
For the battery drain this is done due to Google services, go to Applications and clear the cache, I also advice to go for recovery and clear cache as well there. My OP2 can go SoT over 4h with 20% still left, so I see here an improvement.
Regarding the call block, you can use app called blacklist this will block a number you prefer.

hi all,
I wanted to share my experience on improving the battery on my OnePlus 2 with OOS 3.0.2.
Yesterday I was trying to understand why the battery is dying without any activity...
In another thread I saw that some guys have up to 8 hours of SOT - WITHOUT Google services (on another ROM, but on our device).
I'm not sure what exactly helped finally... but this is what I did:
- Location was disabled already before
- WiFi was disabled (but I saw it in the battery activity).
I disabled WiFi sleep policy to Use Device settings
I disabled WiFi scanning (check in settings)... very strange as I disabled it before, but it was on... disabled.
then I found out that Google is collecting a lot of information, as explained "for our comfort ...".
I went to Google account settings and disabled all the history keepers : used apps, locations, youtube, etc...
Frankly I do not remember exactly all the points I disabled. but it was almost everything which was about activity.
These settings do not impact the synchronization of the Mail/Calendar/Contacts (I have around 8 email accounts to sync in auto mode).
Now the battery is much better. I hope it will help some of you.
Hi guys,
My phone is having sleeping problems. He's just not relaxed and is constantly bothered by something and this tension keeps waking him up many times, even though he is supposed to rest! I've tried my best to give him the right conditions - no Wi-Fi, no BT, full Airplain Mode, yet it is simply not enough.
I attach some images to make it clear.
[edit: why is Google Play Services doing all that? Could they just stop messing up with my hardware - GPS, CPU and so on?]
YD-206 with software for 201
root
TWRP
Xposed - Greenify
NovaLauncher
Nothing special
Is there any hope?
Thanks
Absolutely the same problems on my YD-201 6.0.1 with the same configurations (TWRP, Xposed, Greenify, NovaLauncher + Stock Battery Optimization). Besides, my wifi cannot be disabled, it is always active whatever i try. It is always on search mode even it is disabled. Hey, how do you get the dark theme for stock settings menu? And is your Battery Optimization Settings active?
Android Version?
What's the android version do you have? Lollipop or Marahmallow, i have YD206 with YD201 software, it has some issues with lolli and others with Marsh.
Do you have the hybrid Radio? The european or the chinese? If you dont even know then i suggest you to install the hybrid radio, it solves problems with the battery drain and the warm issues (yota hell xD).
I dont use greenify, i just use the freezing mode from titanium backup.

An update: THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER [after installing Better Wifi on/off (read below)]
1. I'm using Greenify and have hibernated many applications - this might be one of the solutions to the Wi-Fi usage. (See attached zip file for which apps are hibernated)
2. I installed an app called Better Wifi on/off version 2.1.0.0 from Google Play Store and have set the rules how to turn on/off (See also attached zip file for the exact set-up).
3. The Wifi sometimes appear to be ON on Battery Usage Graphic, but actual battery consumption is not noticed. The the normal consumption for 'Phone idle' is about 3-4% per day (around 120 mA). This would suggest that the phone will be able to last around 20 days if totally idle.
4. BLUETOOTH BUG - somewhere in this forum I read that after connecting the phone via Bluetooth to some external gadget (in my case UE Roll 2 music box), even after disconnecting, the Bluetooth causes Wakelock and this dramatically drains the battery!!! (See screenshot) The solution is Restart of the phone. On the Battery graphic you can clearly see the drain from Awake and after that I did a Restart and let the phone stay idle - the usage dropped immediately!
5. I'm using stock Battery Optimization
6. [OFF-TOPIC] To make background color for menus dark I use projekt.substratum_490_minAPI23.com.apk (attached to the post) and after installing it, I downloaded the theme InversionUI from Google Play Store. (I can't stand white/bright colors on my screen, especially at night, and knowing what it does to my battery since I'm on AMOLED display).
