Should I use arm gapps or arm64 gapps?
Snapdragon 615 CPU is 64-bit so you should use arm64 GApps.
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/615
Dont use arm64.
all roms for MXP are 32Bit.
arm is the right choice

I didn't know that as i'm using the stock ROM, weird that custom ROMs are 32-bit when the CPU is 64-bit capable. Isn't the stock ROM 64-bit?
You can use the arm64, but some games and applications do not support, better use arm, to avoid compatibility problems
Hardware is 2 GB and so it does not matter whether RAM is 32bit or 64bit. Only if RAM exceeds 4 GB does it matter a lot!

out hardware should at least be able to support windows 7 ROM. some windows 7 phones have 1GhZ processors with minimal RAM

HI GUYS I'VE FOUND A SIMILAR DEVICE FOR SURNIA!
It's the Xiami Redmi 2 , it have the same Socket and the same gpu , the same amount of ram and internal memory.
the display change a little but i think it's not a problem.
I'm not an experienced developer and i can't try to port because i've not experience in porting for the moto e.
i think someone with more experience than me can try to port the MIUI from the Redmi 2.
here the specs:
4.7" perfect IPS display, 1280x720 resolutiton, 312 PPI
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quadcore 64-bit 1.2 GHz processorI
1GB RAM, 8GB flash memory (can be extended to 32GB)I
Cortex A53 structure, 1.5 times faster than A7I
Adreno 306 GPUI
8 mega pixel rear camera, 2 mega pixel facing cameraI

Even I'm no developer but I think it would be better if u PM some dev like squid or Sirhc rather than posting the question here.
I am porting it. It is wonderful that you do it with me.

But the redmi 2 doesn't have a 6.0 based MIUI so would that mean we get a lollipop build of MIUI

Whats the status r8 now?
Hi devs i notice there aren't any 64 - bit kernels for Redmi 2/prime. I realise we have 64 bit roms now (like pirej's) so i would like to request for a 64 bit kernel for our redmi 2.
Thanks
It's not that simple to make a kernel, there's alot of headaches when we need to add some features, also, redmi 2 1gb dosn't run great on 64bit OS (At least my variant). I only build kernels for the most optimized rom for my device, that in this case is: AOSP 8.0.0.
If you have a 1gb redmi 2 I would recommend you to switch to AOSP 8.0.0 for a while, but if you have the 2gb variant it's better to use a 64bit rom.
Thanks

There are no 64bit roms either, without rom there is no need for the kernel..
I really dont know why no one makes 64 rom..??
As far as i know.. only @s.sawrav made some test builds, but i dont know why he abandoned it too..

Mhm.. 1 GB, and it runs my 64bit rom better than the 32bit, its snappier, smoother..

yeah but my experience with it was not so great which was why I posted this thread. but thanks anyway, I'm using s.sawrav's AOSP 8.0.0 now, runs great for an experimental rom:fingers-crossed: maybe expect kernel for 8.0.0 sometime.
thanks

I think what pirej mean is there are too few 64 bit, and only a few user use it, so only a little demand. Sorry for my bad English
Please suggest some apps that make best use of 64 bit custom roms .. thanks in advance!
Honestly... Google camera is about it, and it's quality is questionable compared to stock camera.
The whole "64-bit" thing is seriously over-hyped... other than the few apps that are 64-bit only (of which, only Google Camera comes to mind) I don't think you will see a noticeable performance change in apps that have both 32 and 64 bit versions.
Don't get me wrong, I am glad developers got 64-bit OS's working on this device, any advancement in custom ROMs is awesome and the devs deserve a lot of praise because I am sure it was hard work.
Am I right in thinking all the Oreo ROMs are 64bit? And you just flash in the same way as any other ROM?

Some of them that aee updated weekly/monthly are 64-bit now... Really they are 32/64-bit hybrids, but many are still 32bit

Flash them like normal, except you must use the 64 bit version of TWRP.

No since official twrp 3.2.0-0 it supports 64 bit
Alpine offers armv7 support, if you check supported SoC, exynos5250-smdk5250 is listed there as supported, and Nexus 10 has the same SoC, and they don't have much documentations. Anyhow is it possible to make it boot on Nexus 10?
https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Alpine_on_ARM
Yes, it possible.
