Wi-Fi problem on cm13 - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have installed cm13 on my S5 (klte), but I am experiencing wifi drops every few seconds and with screen turned off. I' ve tried installing different modem (BOK5, POJ1) and setting a different radio frequency, but none of this worked. Can someone help me?

I'm experiencing the same issue on my S5 SM-900F, when I upgraded from cm-13.0-20151025-NIGHTLY-klte to cm-13.0-20160203-NIGHTLY-klte. I flashed with TWRP-2.8.7.0. I read on another forum about flashing with nothing higher than 2.8.6.0 so I tried to upgrade when the 0204 came out, but no change. Anything new on this?

I've solved the issue, but I don't know how. I know for sure that this particular problem is related to DHCP, so I've messed up with my router configuration and I finally solved it. I suggest you to install TWRP 3.0.0.0 and make various try with your router configuration in DHCP section, good luck!

Wifi Connection Losing Password

I did some looking around but it's really hard to tell whether someone is having the same issue as me, so I thought I would post here and ask you guys for a bit of help. Yesterday I flashed CF-Autoroot and rooted my phone (GT-I9505). I also flashed KT Kernel and used the suggested values to start with, but haven't gotten adventurous. I'm running stock TW 4.3.
Anyway, moving on to my issue...I'm having a wifi issue where - it will connect fine once i've typed in the password, but when I leave and it disconnects from my router, or if I turn off my wifi and then back on, it forgets the password and I have to retype it in to reconnect. Is this an issue with the kernel? Or because I rooted? If it helps with the answer I'm on DBT (Deutsche Telekom - Germany) software. Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can give.

I have the same problem too!
Same here.
anyone got anything?
sheer terror.
Quite similar problem here.
I'm on Cloudy G3 1.2. My wifi is working fine, but impossible to turn on bluetooth. It stays on "connecting ..." then goes back to disconnected.
I think this is a hardware problem because it wasn't working either on stock 4.2 nor 4.4
I had same problem when Wifi/bluetooth MAC address are unavailable. It keeps turning on and automatically turned off after a certain of time. I tried to flash stock rom (4.2.2 & 4.4.2) and kernels as well (Cloudyfa & Dorimanx) and still the same result. In this morning, it's suddenly connected to my network and I am able to browse the net when I connected USB OTG to it. I was soon restarted the phone and the issue comes back, poor me . Now, I have no way to make it working again. Any suggestion on fixing the problem? Thanks in advanced!
I have the same issue.
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Same here
I am definitely sure it's hardware related problem. I was so lucky when wifi + bluetooth could be turned on for few days but I need to turn both wifi + bluetooth on to get wifi working, the phone was pretty hot at that time and it only worked when I plugged my phone to wall charger at 100% battery. Sadly, it's not working now after many attempts. Need hardware replacement, I guess
it may be app lock or something
try disabling any app ,ocker or something like that, those things sometimes can interfere with the working of those two stuffs

Note 4 exynos sm-n910k Problem please help

So I am from Canada and picked up the exynos version from a Korean seller on ebay.
Model number sm-n910K I actually have a huge problem. When wifi is turned on phone will reboot whilst in sleep mode after about 5 minutes if I turn off wifi it works fine. Note this happens even if I am not connected to a network the radio just has to be enabled. I am out of options I might rma it to the Korean seller but I think I might have to open a case with ebay, as these guys are being very difficult here is a video attached. I filmed it for 5 minutes but only recorded the last minute. http://youtu.be/ahLB0A2pCOM any help would be super appreciated thanks guys. I am at a loss whether this is software ie corrupt modem from improper driver installation at factory or just a faulty modem things I have tried already.
1. factory reset + cash wipe
2. Reinstall firmware using kies
3. turned off automatic scanning
4. turned off download booster.
The only thing that works is keeping wifi off. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

Have you tried flashing with Odin?
Hey, I also have the SM N910K. What network are you using it on?
I have that version as well without that issue. Can you grab a picture of your About device specs?
Hello there i got same version SM-N910K i didn't have that issue with wifi , but i got battery drain , i live in uk and the phone keep searching for LTE- A ,
N910C with the Samsung SoC
I have the same Issue, i live in the US, I was in Malaysia and manage to get a N910C with the Samsung CPU, when I set the network to LTE/WCDM/GSM (autoconnect) it keeps serching for 4g networks, and it does not switch to lower networks even if available, which causes a huge battery drain, i had to set it down WCDM/GSM for it to get data. I did not have this issue with my note 3 which i also got in Malaysia last year, btw, the note 3 came with qualcomm cpu, and that leads me to believe there is a problem with the modem on the samsung SoC.

Hi! i found a solution where you can force your phone to go to GSM Only, WCDMA only or your preferred network type. In your dialer app type: 319712358. It will ask for a password and the password is 774632. And voila you can now choose what type of network you want to use. This will help with the battery drain.
Hi everybody..im from south korea. I have sm-n910k.

can you share the 910K stock flashable kernel and modem link?

Every Marshmallow ROM on the I9505 has issues connecting to mobile internet.

It seems that I can't get any mobile internet connection whatsoever on any Marshmallow ROM.
I have tried different roms, I've tried over 20 baseband versions (modems) to no avail. I honestly have no idea what to do anymore and can't seem to find any fix to this.
If anyone has ANY idea and thinks that can aid me anyhow, it would be of great help, thanks !
Select the correct APN.
Mine doesn't connect with the default APN either.

WiFi connections problems - baseband?

Hello,
since I installed Nougat to my G4 Plus, first stock, then lineageos 14.1, I have problems with the wifi connections... every know and then, it just disconnects. I observed this behavior at many wifis, not just mine at home.
Does someone else have this problem? Which baseband are you using? Are you using dual SIM?
I got the baseband M8952_70030.25.03.62R.
Thanks for your help!

I'll concur with this. On both 2.4 and 5GHz as well as over 4G, my connection will drop every so often.
Nothing life-changing, but somewhat annoying. I'm on the Nougat RETUS radio.

Same as yours; 70030.25.03.62R
I also have the same issue since the official Nougat update. Any ideas as to what it could be. Very annoying.
I have the same issue, it's very random and sometimes the wifi will not re-connect, I must manually connect to re-establish it. I have attempted to discover what if anything I am doing which may be causing it to occur with no real answers. I find it more than mildly annoying as it results in my connection timing out. Sometimes I may go hours without an incident, other times it is perpetual and constant. I believe that it may be caused by faulty hardware or firmware for the wifi radio as I have been incapable of discovering any evidence to suggest that this is widespread enough to be related to Nougat. That being said I did not have this problem until completing the official update on my phone which was completely stock at the time it was initially completed. My only course of action at this point is to A. rely on someone far more intelligent with this device to fix it. B. replace it with a different device
Same here. Very annoying when using VOIP etc. I tried both M and N basebands and different roms/kernels.
The problem might be due to the router settings.
Try to update firmware of check your wifi channel.
Wifi connectivity problem after ROM upgrade: baseband VS Llineage VS stock ROM
I flashed the newest clean stock firmware NPJS25.93-14-18 on XT1625
baseband M8952_70030.25.03.62.02R Athene_RetUSA
Then I flashed Llineage-14.1-20180815 and observed problems with Wifi, mostly with old WEP protocol.
Then I downgraded to stock ROM NPJS25.93-14-7-8
baseband M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R Athene_RetUSA.
Wifi connection seemed to be OK on stock NPJS25.93-14-7-8.
So is the wifi problem resolved with baseband M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R?
Not exactly so. After I flashed Llineage-14.1-20180815 with GApps (nano) , the wifi problem re-appeared despite having "good" M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R
So baseband is the same, but Andoid 7.0 stock ROM handles wifi better than the latest Lineage. Or is Google apps and software is involved?
The problem was discussed on Motorola forum
The problems seem not to be limited to Moto G4 only, but clearly appeared after upgrading to newer firmware. It might have something to do with tightening security in resent Android and Google firmware as Wifi WEP protocol considered outdated and of low security . However, some people reported problems with Wifi WPA protocol, too
