[Q] Why we don't have manual focus? - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, why the S3 Neo (both versions) don't suppott any manual camera mode? For example light measure or macro mode? Is it hardware or software related?
BTW you can identify your sensor make with AIDA64 app
Mine is GT-I9301I and i have Samsung's SLSI_S5K4H5YB.

Does it work with an third party app, that you can find in the Google Play Store?

[Q] 3rd party camera app shutter lag

Hi,
I have a SM-N900T with 4.4.2 stock rom installed.
I have two 3rd party camera apps that I'd like to use (Google Camera App & CameraZOOM FX). Both apps suffer from a 1 sec shutter lag, which makes them nearly unusable. The Samsung app doesn't have this issue.
I've wiped out my device completely, but the symptoms persist. I wonder what it causing this issue and if other had the same issue and how they resolved it.
Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Failed

Hy,
yesterday i bought the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and after the reinstallation of all the app that i have on Samsung Galaxy S5, when i open the camera i look this error "camera failed".
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galay S5, i think that is impossible that i have 2 broken smartphone.
In Any case i have deleted the Google Camera and FOR NOW i have no problem.
Is possible that the Google Camera or other applications create a problem with the camera?
Any other experience?
Thanks

Since it happened on both your smartphones and it was fixed by uninstalling Google Camera, then yes, it appears the two camera apps clash.

Strange: I've "Google Camera" also installed on my Note 3 & 4 -> NO problems at all!
I've had a camera fail error but I believe it's when I've tried to use a flash on a red lined battery. Other than that the only other camera related error I've gotten was that I needed to install 'photo editor' last night when I was trying to edit something in my gallery ...

Are 2 days that the camera works fine.
I have deleted the Google Camera and delete all the apps that i have in my Micro SD card.
If the Google camera aren't the problem do you think that the applications that I had in the Micro SD created problems with the camera?
P.S. sorry for my bad english
Camera server failed, but sometimes weird artifacts
Hi, has anyone seen bright area overflow like this before?

Hi, I realy dont know anything about lineage, but I had Problems with camera too, wich are solved now, so maybe it helps you:
I installed lineage-14.1-20180214-UNOFFICIAL-trlte.zip on my old Note 4 (SM-N910F). All seems to work but no Camera-Button to find. After I flashed newest TWRP, the install was perfect. All working fine until now.
good luck!

Enable Infrared on Beanstalk 4.4.4 ROM

My infrared remote control apps have stopped working since I switched to Beanstalk. Is there a way to fix this?

Two options: 1. Revert to stock, or 2. install Anymote from the Play Store to control your devices.
The IR blaster and the camera use proprietary firmware from Samsung that ROMs built from source cannot include. In the case of the IR blaster, the lack of AOSP drivers means the IR blaster doesn't work at all unless using an app like Anymote, which has its own libraries. For the camera, whether it works or not depends on the software you use. The AOSP camera has a couple software filters like HDR that don't work. The Google camera may crash the camera firmware so badly that a reboot is required to restore it. There are alternatives available on the Play Store that don't have either problem, like Camera MX.
EDIT: If you've tried Anymote and it doesn't work, something else is wrong. Reverting to stock and testing the stock IR blaster software should tell you whether you have a hardware problem, or if it's software related.
Thanks for the reply. I will give AnyMote a shot. I really don't want to go back to stock rom.

Camera not working

hi, i use s4 and i use Cyanogenmod 12 but camera doesnt work. i dont know why. i install this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.billgbennett.camerafix&hl=tr
but this not solved my problem. help me please.
Go back to stock and see if it happens there. If it does, then you have a hardware issue.
this camera issue happend after i install cm 12.
Even I installed cm 12.1 in redmi note.. Camera is not working now

Camera issues are well documented with this device and Cyanogenmod. Solution: install a third party camera from the Play Store such as CameraMX. In general, the third party camera apps provide their own binaries which do not reference the ones included in Cyanogenmod, which is why they are more reliable than the stock camera app.
