Is oneplus gonna release the source for the finger print scanner? Is that why that development is lacking for this phone? I'm really regretting my purchase. Kinda let down.. I'm late to the game but was just reading that some devs sold their devices! Uugh. Anyone interested in a new OPT?

Oneplus will not release its Lollipop fingerprint scanner code. Instead Carl said they will switch to standard Google Fingerprint API on Marshmallow.
What is the point of this thread imho oneplus said they will use a standard API for the fingerprint sensor.
I think we just have to wait.
The oneplus 2 is a well build phone and oos is not the best os i agree but hey just buy a Samsung with touchwizz?

I think what Carl meant was the scanner binary driver for mm would work on custom roms

The future of op2 seems like shining brighter...
Looks like they will start an developer program and invite some well-known devs

He is a well known kernel developer here in OPT and he developed his reputation over the development and support of over 5 devices.
Not sure what to expect but it sorta give us hope that maybe stock oxygen kernel in marshmallow and forward would be baked better

Voted yes. We have a pretty good chance of getting official cm support, right? I'm sure this device will be really popular due to its quality and most importantly it's price.
me too
Voted ?

Who knows what CM is planning for this device, but at least one person (myself) does plan on working on omni for it.
More is better

voted ^_^ :fingers-crossed: wish to see some action soon!
We have already got a team of great developers currently working on it, myself included.

Haha that's a Banana republic....Nobody wants to support my galaxy chat
But I guess moto g is not samsung's That makes it special
I feel that the only reason Samsung release so many similar yet multiple devices is to stop developers to focus on them...that way we have to buy new devices
Mayb out of context but my pentium dual core pc with a cheap graphic card and cheap extra ram works pretty nicely with windows 8

The Moto G will get done if a few developers decide to do so. The best thing is to have an unofficial port first of all then polish it up so it doesn't rely on ugly hacks and a fully functional rom can be built using the CyanogenMod repo. Then it can be submitted to the CyanogenMod team for evaluation. If it passes then it could be official.
So developers, let's be having you!

I'm looking forward to omni more than cm tbh. I don't like the direction CM is going, they have changed a lot recently. It took them so long just to get a stable 4.3.

Yep, Omni looks very promising. Saying this as a long-time CM fan.
Important thing is that we can see a couple of first-class devs flocking here.
I'd rather have OmniROM but the more the merrier.
Voted as well, i'm getting a G next week so Cyanogen support is welcome even if i won't flash it others will.
Just in case anyone missed it..

Yea you have to wade a bit for info, but just sort by newest and do a ctrl F for anything you're interested in.
No Oxygen OS tomorrow
90 days after Lollipop release, we will have CM12S out  ha NOT.
This sucks, but going on 5 months now, and still no official Lollipop for the OnePlus One. 5 freaking months already, and no release yet
The most annoying thing is that I moved from Samsung 'cause updates there take ages... Now they have Lollipop before us... Unbelievable....
We've been tricked! Lol we get what we pay for. Were paying low price for a high end device so dont expect on time releases.

It's a business decision. If it makes sense revenue wise to get updates to users earlier then that is what is expect.
To be fair most companies slip up here.
And it's not hard to get cm12 but I agree that an official release would be nicer.
I'm still excited about both options they are going to provide.

They want just to skip next Android M Or 5.X next release saying it is supported for 2yrs... 5 months after lollipop release and they have people which trusted them in their selfish arses...
This makes me wonder why my transition from Nexus 4 not the Nexus 6, but this device? Apart from cheaper price, it's not great and can't compare in any flagship in any way.
With low price, I paid for very bad support (ghost screen is unresolved) and unconditionally delayed OS updates.

Its a trade-off man. So here we are today ... Waiting, hoping for at least some small info.

That's what. I really thought OPO is all round phone. I was fine with slight delay in updates (not this though), but hardware issue is too much.
Dev support for the OPT is kinda low. I thought it would blow up. I read somewhere that there will not even be an official slim support.???? Whats the deal?
Yes same here I bought the oneplus two thinking that it will have great dev support, new roms, new features but I guess I was wrong
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
Just wondering how interested people are in getting a CM12 based MIUI rom for our X Play. I'm not saying I would be doing it as I don't have the skill however I think it would be amazing to have. Add to the variety we already have.
I would have bought a Redmi but it doesn't support LTE on O2 UK

When I was using the mi3 I wished it had aosp/stock rom
Literally nobody then after over 100 views ha ha. Must be on my own...

+1 MIUI
Nah, I'd love to have MIUI on the MXP too, but I don't think someone wants to spend the time and energy building it. It might happen in the future, but I doubt it'll be before we have official support for CM (which might never happen)
I just dont like MIUI. I feel like its animations and skin dont go along with Material Design. Coming from Redmi Note 2
I dont think so.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...and-kernel-sources-for-the-oneplus-3t.473810/
Hopefully this being out so quickly allows devs to port/make ROMs fairly quickly. I read great things about FreedomOS and wanted to try it out, but I'll likely be stock rooted for a while just so I don't have to wipe/reinstall.
Yeah once I get my new PC I'm going to learn how to build ROMs and kernels. Got a Xperia and Moto g to mess with so some practice and headaches I hope to one day be good enough to get some out for this.
Did anyone already extract the prop. files using the extract script?

This is what I'm most interested in seeing happen before I place my order.
Yes this indeed will boost some custom development support at XDA. However I have a question. Is it possible to port over the battery capacity read code to the one plus 3
this video
shows that the batteries are swappable hardware wise but we need software to actually read the proper capacity
Any dev can help with this?. It would be really helpful to OP3 owners.

I know that. Like I said that video shows if someone just swaps the battery there wouldn't be a problem for the OP3 as it shows up as a 3000mah battery.
From what else I see the power IC and motherboard are nearly identical. This is a DIY project. For people who want a Lil more oomph from their phone
Well battery consumption and capacity is set in an overlay (power_profile.xml) that is used when building android. So for custom roms, it is easy to change that value
Why we see Zero customs roms for op3t? Op3 had cm unnoficial same day that start the shell

Adoption of the 3T is going to be slower because some devs already have the OP3 and have stated they would not develop for the 3T. Some are waiting to receive their devices as well. Besides, you don't know what's being worked on behind the scenes. Be patient or you can build it for us.
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs
Yeah lot's of people still waiting on their device plus a lot more will receive one over the Christmas period. Another note in my opinion is 7.0+ is a inch away so heavy development on current 6.0+ is sort of pointless, but great at the same time to let developer's get a "feel" for the device.
