Yea you have to wade a bit for info, but just sort by newest and do a ctrl F for anything you're interested in.
No Oxygen OS tomorrow
90 days after Lollipop release, we will have CM12S out  ha NOT.
This sucks, but going on 5 months now, and still no official Lollipop for the OnePlus One. 5 freaking months already, and no release yet
The most annoying thing is that I moved from Samsung 'cause updates there take ages... Now they have Lollipop before us... Unbelievable....
We've been tricked! Lol we get what we pay for. Were paying low price for a high end device so dont expect on time releases.
Sent from my OnePlus One via Tapatalk
It's a business decision. If it makes sense revenue wise to get updates to users earlier then that is what is expect.
To be fair most companies slip up here.
And it's not hard to get cm12 but I agree that an official release would be nicer.
I'm still excited about both options they are going to provide.

They want just to skip next Android M Or 5.X next release saying it is supported for 2yrs... 5 months after lollipop release and they have people which trusted them in their selfish arses...
This makes me wonder why my transition from Nexus 4 not the Nexus 6, but this device? Apart from cheaper price, it's not great and can't compare in any flagship in any way.
With low price, I paid for very bad support (ghost screen is unresolved) and unconditionally delayed OS updates.

You'd have to be living in a cave to actually be surprised about a Samsung Firmware delay.
I trusted Samsung with theirs "Coming VERY soon" BS. Well, as usual it was just a bs. Thanks sammy.
at the end of the day you can call them icrap ipoo i this i that but at least when apple have an update its out its not delayed and everybody gets it, samsung just drag on and drag on, but for me jb is no biggie anyway its just a glorified ics with google now no more no less your not missing much imo

Well IOS has hardly changed from the flat basic OS it was 5 years ago so updates are easy, but at least Android keeps giving something new even though Samsung constantly mislead everyone.
I bet they based this on the highly unreliable story on cnet

It's not like anyone should be surprised. Pure Google phones aside the Android OS updates system is absolutley ridiculous. It always has been and there is zero signs of that changing.
When you buy an Android phone you should really be buying on the assumption that it is not going to get the next version of Google's OS. You may get a few minor updates from the manufacturer but not the next version upgrade of Android. You should plan to be hapy with the OS it ships with for the 1 or 2 year life of the phone. If by some miracle it does get upgraded to the next Android version it's nothing more than a bonus.
Think like that and there will never be any dissappointment. If the latest and greatest OS beamed to you on or around day of release is high on your priority list you're on the wrong platform.
The latest leak is pretty solid. Sounds like BS me. Because I know everything you can rest assured it will be officially released before October.

So, if they release a half-arsed update on time, every single one of you will ***** and moan about how bad the update is.
If they delay it for a month to really work on it to iron out the bugs, you're still not satisfied because it's delayed. Oh my God, it's delayed, the world must come to an end now!
Quit whining for a second. Pretty please.
I call BS, and I second what lennyuk said.
This is a typical internet news story, somebody makes something up, everyone else copies it and swears it's true.
We all saw the big differences between LH4 and LI5 and that was only a matter of a few weeks, LI5 is more or less ready to go, I reckon a week, two tops.

Well guys what is the problem?
We already have a VERY stable and fluid leak (XXDLI5). I've been using JB leaks for about 3 weeks and I couldn't be happier with how much of a "release-candidate-like" this last one is.
Stop whining and flash the leak, you're in XDA for a reason.

3 major upgrades for a 2 year old phone still put Samsung as one of the better ones in terms of upgrades ...
jelly bean 4.2.2 is definitely the latest that i expected.
the s2 is too old but still good.
morover the most of us will get a new phone very soon because of the contracts.
and this phone will get android 5 or higher in the future.
Gonna upgrade to another manufacturer i think...since the uk galaxy s4 will be a snapdragon based model and not the octocore we were hoping for...key lime pie will be nice.

Still not sufficient. A 650€ flagship should be supported more than 2 years and 2 poor versions. Ics & JB...
Or at least let the community do their job...
I totally agree, and don't understand the attitude of some people here... I didn't buy the phone just to replace it at the end of contract. It's still working perfect and I don't see the need for a replacement. Samsung should just let the community handle the updates if they are to lazy to do it themselves.
S2 till it dies, and when it does, another s2.
Fu*k it, I'll buy a couple s2 when they get 300 bucks cheap here (It's still at 600 bucks unbranded, 400 branded, crazy).

Ok, chill out now, no need to get sentimental.
I really wanna see 5.0 and what it's all about, I'm somewhat skeptical on the gigant upgrade that would represent against JB.
If a couple of devs make it work with no issues on their ROMs I don't see why we can't lobby up and ask for that update.
I mean, samsung devs vs xda devs...I'm sticking with our troops.
One thing's for sure, if the galaxy nexus gets it, I'll burn tires right in front of Samsung.

Yes, if Samsung would now release all the sources (required by the license) we could keep upgrading our devices on our own. The S2 community has done a fabulous job, and we would get some disaffected devs back if we had all the sources. This is still a great phone. I'd hazard to say that there aren't many (any?) other 2 year old phones that still run this well on the "latest" software. I agree it might be still going strong in 4 years. Due to Samsung's intransigence however I think my next has to be Nexus. But it's hard to justify giving this up. Despite a faded screen, and reduced capacity of the battery, it still screams smoothly!
I was so excited to think we finally got the Lollipop. Phfft! ended being an enhanced something or other. At this Point I am so frustrated with Verizon on so many levels. What Gives?
Relax. It'll happen at some point. I was a bit disappointed as well..but at the same time I was so used to being able to talk and surf the web without WiFi that I felt some type of way when I couldn't with the turbo initially. Now I can with VOLTE. Just have patience.

Moto is still doing a soak test for Lollipop, what could you possibly be frustrated about? This is the first time I'm actually happy being with Verizon. Lollipop is nice and all, but after using it on my Nexus7, I'm not really eager to jump to it(it also means root may become more difficult).

Been with Verizon Wireless since 1998. 1st Issue is always billing. Once you pay your bill on the due date. Bamm New bill is there. Sometimes I feel I am six months ahead of their billing. But the list goes on. Verizon to me always seems to be the last one to get anything. And in my eyes We as Verizon subscribers we pay then most of any other carrier.

But...that's how billing works. They've always billed a month in advance. It's a contract so the next bill is usually the same amount, doesn't matter if they post it right after you pay or the day before it's due, you always pay every 30 days. Honestly, if you get your phones with good deals(turbo was 100$ for me), you end up paying about the same as you would on tmobile or att. You don't have to stay with Verizon, you can switch to tmobile, but I stay because the service works and no other provider can say the same.
Tmobile: 5gb per line(10gb total) for 2 iphone 6 for example, is 175$ per month because you have to either buy the phone outright or pay for it in monthly installments. The same 10gb shared for 2 lines on verizon is 160$ per month, then add another 8$ per month to account for 200$ for 2 Droid turbo's(100$ each) over the course of a 2 year contract. In the end, its pretty much equal but I'll take verizon's service over tmobiles any day.
not much need
There really isnt much need to get lollipop right now because its still not so stable yet and technically still in beta. why do you think they already made 5.0.1? I would rather wait then get the stablest version and not get a rushed version like the nexus devices. Even Htc backed out from their 90 day promise.

Please. That just proves my point. What does Apple do almost immediately after a x.0 release? Release a point release to fix the major bugs that showed up. Android is no different. 5.0 ? Terrible. 4.0? Terrible. 2.0? Terrible. In each case, a release quickly replaced them. Some were so buggy they didn't make it out of the gates without a point release.
All I can say is it must suck for them to decide. If they release early with bugs half of the people get upset that they would release like that. If they hold back the other half hate them cause they don't have it now. . . . .
My mom has had Lollipop on her Moto X for I think a couple weeks now, she says she's had no issues. Even the Lollipop roms I've flashed on my other devices seem pretty stable. I'm ready for this device to get it.

That's all we want. We must get Android 6 as soon as Google release it. There were 3 preview builds so what do really do LG software department anyway. They get money like US gets oil from middle east(lol), so what are they doing with all that money? Hire talented developers and make updates rain.
If Nexus devices had enough battery like 3000, i wouldn't lick LG's backpack for updates anyway.

to be honest I never liked LG's software development. I always believed in developers here on XDA. In my opinion LG is making powerful hardware, this is why I will stick to LG int he future, but they not tailor the OS perfectly to the device. I always liked more Stock modded softwares.
Is there any release date for 6.0 in general? Or that last dev/preview build is like RTM for Windows?
We won`t get anything this year guys. Lets be realistic. Google said M will be ready "later this fall". So we can expect it maybe in October. LG G4 will be first with the update, rolling out in December just as
G3s last years Lollipop update. I am guessing for Q1 2016 (earliest) if we get the update at all
I bet we won't get any official bootloader unlock, nor android marshmallow before january '16.
I have decided to go back to Nexus next time. Not for the latest shiny widget but to ensure I get security updates ASAP and not 1 year after my phone has retired.
I like my LG G3 but that I have to live with well documented and exploited security holes for almost a year is ridiculous.
In this case I suspect it is as much LGs fault as it also would be my carriers who insists on retesting everything for x weeks.
Nexus 5 or 6 2015 edition, bring it on
............. And we're still begging for Marshmallow!
Yep. It's already available for Nexus devices and general beta release will be available within 24 hours. http://developer.android.com/preview/download.html

(sorry for my poor English)
x86-64 android is a dream.
nexus player uses intel z3560 (same as z008) and ROM made by "Google" but it's still 32bit android even N preview....
That's what we get for dealing with a company that isn't generally in the mobile device market like Samsung, Motorola, LG etc.... Our devices are just unlocked phones for use with multiple carriers and there is no real incentive for ASUS to update Firmware like there is for Samsung or another major manufacturer who makes carrier specific phones.
You bought a budget phone that is actually better than most. You know what you were getting for $200 bucks so stop complaining. Let me know when you buy your $800 premium phone. Until then stop the *****ing. Thank you good night

Hell, my LG G2 with 2gb of RAM and on 6.0 doesn't even break a sweat with the same tasks while my Zenfone 2 does even though the Zenfone 2 scores higher on benchmarks,
Custom Roms have made this phone more than usable but it shouldn't be that way, Asus's software should of been able to provide me with the necessary fixes and such that it needed.

You bought a budget phone that is actually better than most. You know what you were getting for $200 bucks so stop complaining. Let me know when you buy your $800 premium phone. Until then stop the *****ing. Thank you good night

Exactly! I have zero issues with mine other than the battery drain issue but that's a Lollipop issue. Always has been.

are you seriously comparing a phone that launched at $600 to a $200 phone?
as for your issues, sounds like your just finding stuff to complain about 95% of everyone else doesnt have issues. just quit being salty about your budget phone not being as fast other peoples high end phone.

Makes me wonder why Samsung is just as slow as ASUS with software updates...
The actual list of devices actually released globally with android M is still very low. It is not an ASUS problem specifically.

............. And we're still begging for Marshmallow!
Yep. It's already available for Nexus devices and general beta release will be available within 24 hours. http://developer.android.com/preview/download.html

You can forget ASUS releasing Android N for ZF2 but I guess we will have CM14 sooner than we thought.

Indeed they update quiet often.
But for me it's not compareable due to the many changes Xiaomi does. And even MiUi 7 is based on Android 5.1.1... released 5 Months ago...

Besides the point as to how much I paid for my phones.
And who are these other people? I only mentioned MY usage between my LG G2 (from 2013) and Zenfone 2.
The fact is that, the Zenfone 2 scores higher in benchmarks meaning that it should outperform my LG G2 in performance which is not doing which is a problem. It will stutter in opening Chrome and using chrome while it completely smooth on the G2.
My next points were the issues I have with cellular connection and memory management. This is just poor on the stock rom, my connection drops every time and memory is filled at startup and if I use the startup manager I won't get my notifications, Now, on the custom roms, these two issues are fixed meaning that Asus could of fixed them themselves and made me have to resort to other means of getting these issues fixed. (I don't mind using custom roms as they are normally listening to people). That is not how a product should be, it should have been fixed on their stock software and not other software.
And if you have it that it is my cellular problem, then that is false because my other 3 phones have no problem in keeping the signal.
NO issues with ZF2 with CM12.1 and CM13, just minor beta problems that's all. We should be thankful to devs who made this possible, First when I saw the Bootloader hack I was excited, to my luck CM12.1 and CM13 made even custom kernels plus multiboot also, It's almost a nexus experience isn't it ? And N's only for Nexuses, they have the src, binaries and OTAs, that will never make to the normal devices....Even making the CM properly work took enough time with src that was available with 5.0.x releases for our phones, I think we should worry more about the 64Bit MM ASUS release

Soon ? Imho 6 up to 9 Months with an major update.
Xiaomi is one of the best brands regarding updates and longtime support. But there is nothing compareable at the moment. And there won't. People aren't demanding, so why should there be development? There are enough users which doesn't bother. Or buy an new device after 24 months.
N for ZF2 ?
Who knows personally I don't think so.
