The aluminum variant is slippery as hell and I'm considering getting the graphite version instead.. However, looking at the graphite version it seems like its just as slippery?
They're all slippery... especially in cool dry conditions (welcome Winter). Any moisture on your hands will add a lot of grip. Of course, you could always rub it up with a little pine tar. (c;
Yeah mine slides right out of my hands when dry. Frost version.
The slippery feel and fragile (prone to dings) metal body means that a protective case is a must have.

The Google 6P case (Adoptive) solved this issue for me. It's light, offers some protection and provides a good grip for the phone. Plus it makes locating the fingerprint sensor easier.

How's the price over there? In my country the importers sell these for ~$50 which is greater than the sum of all the accessories (5 different cases of great quality, a sleeve and some screen protectors) I bought for my N6P! What's more, Huawei themselves separately manufactures and sells a white N6P case for ~$8 in Hong Kong and Taiwan. With these options available I simply can't justify purchasing Google's offering...

My solution
I took a few thin strips of clear 3m medical tape and put it around the edges helps a lot with the grip and doesn't change the look of the phone.

Too much -- $35. I ordered it after placing a pre-order for a Verus case ($9) right before the articles appeared showing how most cases available at the time blocked the autofocus sensor. I figured a Google case wouldn't have this problem.

All cases I bought (and most cases available as I see now) either don't have the problem in the first place or have fixed it by the time I bought it. That's the speed of China manufacturing I guess. Still have a case that I want but haven't modified the design for the sensor, though.
$35 is still expensive, though, almost equals what I've spent on all. The flip case sells for an even more astonishing $75 - I wonder who will buy that.

Just got the aluminum 6P and yeah, it is slippery as hell, originally wanted the graphite but was worried how scratches would show in that color and it really shows oil from your hands. I have always hated how my Nexus 5 looked when I was done holding it, oil everywhere.
I think I am going to go with either a Dbrand skin for the back or one of those matte invisible shield films for the back to help with grip and not scratch the back. Staying away from a case because the phone is so big to begin with and there are many reports that taking a case on and off has caused the metal frame to bend by the power button.

PDair And Piel Frama have made flip cases (both vertical and horizontal) for Nexus devices. I assume they will for the 4 as well. I just emailed PDair so we'll see what the response is.

PDair's response:
"Thanks for your enquiry. LG Nexus 4 E960 on planning schedule, but our Marketing Department not yet confirmed the release date."
So at least they're working on it and I will wait for one of these.
Leather cases already available in Europe
There is a European vendor (docteur-gms.com) with a number of cases for the Nexus 4, including leather wallet and leather flip cases. I cannot yet post full links so add http to the following //docteur-gsm.com/en/2573-lg-nexus-4. There are many color options and styles available. If I buy a Nexus 4 (I'm waiting to see the early real world reviews by all you first adopter buyers to make my decision), I'll probably get one of the leather cases from this site. I don't know what import duties will run, but the prices for the leather cases seems reasonable when converting from Euros to Dollars (although I didn't try to calculate shipping).
Maybe they'll make one like they do for the N7, and that one is only $20 so for a phone it should be ~$10.
Just seeing if I can post a photo of the black leather flip case for the LG Nexus 4 at the site that I referenced in my earlier post. They have a white one that opens from the side, but like a lot of their products, they've posted the Samsung Galaxy S3 product photos. Hopefully, they'll get all their product photos updated ASAP once they get their hands on an actual phone.

Do you (or anyone else) know of any other manufacturers of leather folio cases?
I checked out the PDair and Piel Frama flip/folio cases for the Galaxy Nexus and I wasn't that impressed. I'm looking for a SLIM and simple leather folio case.
I cant wait for a flip case either.
Sorry... Started to repeat myself.
I sent out emails to several OEM's, interestingly all replied but most with generic responses. I did get one semi specific response:
"For the Nexus 4 custom flip covers, we are currently evaluating the market. Due to lack of easy access to the battery cover, requiring users to apply manual labor, use scarce tools and remove the original battery cover might cause warranty issues. This will significantly reduce the size of the market we would cater to."

I doubt if we'll ever get these from LG
Why can't these manufacturers make a transparent snap-on case that goes on the back and includes a flip-cover? I don't see why they'd even consider the idea of "removing the non-removable battery cover" just to apply a case onto it.

To me it looks like a frosted back, for this look you can get one way cheaper on eBay. I'm just going off of the thumbnail you have posted though. Could be wrong.
The shipping for the fusion to Canada is ridiculous! I've been thinking about ordering a few and getting them shipped to a mail delivery place in at the us border and then picking them up but after reading reviews that I wasn't sure it was worth it.

That's what I'm worried about too. I'm hoping that it's similar to the GN case ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859080 )
Saw it at a Future Shop. It's clear like the Ringke Hybrid Fusion.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Two more things to note:
1) it doesn't have the bumps at the corners like the Ringke Fusion, but the TPU lip extends above the plastic. The lip also rolls up over the screen edge, but not as much as my off-brand Diztrinuc matte TPU.
2). No watermarks, rough edges, or button issues. While the covers over the buttons are nearly flush with the rest if the edges, the TPU is thinner and has ridges moulded into the TPU, so the buttons work properly, without needing to mash them. You can feel the buttons beneath the covers, and they provide proper tactile feedback when pushed.
So, it appears the issues with the Ringke Hybrid's buttons are wry fixable, as the factory that made this case did what Ringke couldn't. It's not the exact same mould being used... but it's close. Almost identical to the one they used for the Galaxy Nexus, but with the button issues of that model fixed (you couldn't feel the buttons on the GNex version either, just like the Ringke).
Curious if they're using polycarbonate as opposed to maybe acrylic though.
It's clear polycarbonate. The sides are the matte-finish TPU, and it's not quite as thick as the Diztronic TPU on the sides.
On the upside, it doesn't have those moulding flaws reported in the Ringke Hybrid Fusion thread, and the buttons have proper indentations with thinner material in the sides to let it depress properly. Also, the PC doesn't press against the back the way the Ringke Hybrid does.
But it's definitely more slippery than my matte-finish TPU case due to the PC back. The shiny sides/matte back of my off-brand Diztronic has bad button response but more grip, due to the matte back. I may have to look at an InvisibleShield, just for the tacky orange-peel to provide a grip pier, yet still transparent surface.

When I get some daylight. It'll be from an inferior camera, alas.
Also, given some of the complaints about the Hybrud Fusion, it seems there's nowhere to go but up. I wouldn't call this a good deal at full retail price, though.

I returned my leather phone due to the touchscreen issue, I think I'm finally convinced to replace it with the plastic one.
My leather one was looking old even with it being in a case. I returned it and got a Metallic Grey one instead.
So it is a lot better to get the Metallic Grey instead of any leather back?

Obviously the solution is to not remove it from your pocket on a daily basis.
Seriously though, wtf, LG? This should have been one of the first things to QC, right after "Does the leather actually stick to the plastic?"
But hey! 2 for $70!!! lol wow LG... I think I'll finally get a case and hope 1- that the leather holds up and 2- that the case will fit...

Uh, function is still there. The function of the back cover is to keep everything in the back from falling out.

I think of it as form = looks good on surface, function = how it actually performs. In this case the leather looks good on the surface but in reality is garbage.

I laughed at this because I ditched Samsung for this phone. I was loyal to Samsung for a few Galaxy's. I was even made a Rom for a Samsung device. I find the G4 far superior to the Galaxy line. I will be extra happy when the screen glitch is fixed with the missed taps.
Its kind of neat seeing all the different opinions about device choices.
On topic, I chose the metallic grey because I when I viewed both backs and felt them, I felt the leather back seemed to be a cheap plastic fake leather.
Honestly, I'm surprised that so many people are surprised by this. I mean, has anyone noticed how thin the leather is when examining the back cover off the phone? It's not full-grain leather. It's not auto seat or furniture thick. I'm kind of surprised it sticks at all. It's not a Vertu Signature Touch, that's for sure.
What Motorola did right in comparison with the Moto X was to not expose the leather at the corners of the phone. I was skeptical of LG going with a leather back from the G4 announcement (or leak) since Motorola was using a higher quality leather and I pretty much knew the exposed corners relegated the G4 leather to a show cover rather than a daily. My leather travel wallet told me all I needed to know about corner wear.
The black stamped pebble grain back will fare a little bit better, but probably not by too much.

The side pieces are perfectly aligned, no issues here. They must have fixed it.
Well, I have now gotten 2 replacements and each one has been too small to cover the sides of the Z Force. I am going to request a refund.

That they don't. Dbrand usually prioritizes fit before adding extra fluff. If the side pieces aren't supplied, it's usually because they thought it would be too much trouble for users.
Slickwraps just goes for volume.

For some reason, mostly sales, i keep ordering Slickwrap skins and I highly don't recommend them.
The last one I ordered, marble, looked plain bad, nothing like the photo on the site. Same thing with the gold flake, thing was actually kind of metallic. Odd for a wood skin but...
Bought one for the G3 and it's fit was uncomfortable, not to mention the mahogany wood grain was not as realistic as the exoskin I was used to or dbrand.
Plus when I ordered my black marble skin my wife order a few for he v20. It took 20 days to arrive.
Not a fan at all.

I guess I should've taken a photo. I don't think anyone could tell the Slickwraps marble skin, I ordered the black, was supposed to be marble. There was no texture. It was like they printed a marble texture on plain vinyl. My only comparison, again since I'm a wood skin fanatic, is the dbrand concrete. That wasn't obvious as concrete, my wife thought it was supposed to be wood, but it was textured as you'd expect.
So I typically use the slim case for my phone but I was drawn to this case because it is able to redirect audio to the front of the phone and The "click-i-ness" of the buttons .

I like thin cases that show off my phone, I'm super careful with my phones and I rarely have a need for extra military grade protection.
With that in mind, this case is great!
It is for the times I go somewhere that I feel I need the protection, this will be my go to case. Ballgames, concerts, outdoor events, etc.
It looks good and feels good and provides a lot of confidence against drops and other unforeseen events.
Buttons are perfectly clicky and the cutouts are good too.
Installing the case can be difficult at first but once you figure it out it get easier each time.
The plastic back is great to see my phone, but I'm a little concerned that it will get all scratched up. Time will tell for that and I plan on finding out as I will use this case consistently for particular occasions.
Almost forgot to mention that the redirected bottom speaker feature is also pretty good. Very well implemented and it sounds good.
And you can find a video review here : https://t.co/QD0zVOdafE?amp=1
You can have it from Amazon for $24.98 dollars, I think it is a great price!

I just received my Schnail Saviour today and I must say this is the best-built case I've ever owned and I've had Otterbox and other high-end cases. The case actually routes the audio from the bottom speaker to the front and makes the sound quality better and way louder! The back is very thick and solid and will certainly protect from any major drops! The color is subtle and vibrant at the same time. It is primarily purple but changes to green and blue and yellow in different lighting conditions. Sure to be an eye-catcher! I can't say enough great things about the build quality of this case. This is sure to be my daily driver over the other 4 cases I own. The best part about this product and this company was the hand-written thank you note and their donation to the American Cancer Society! I donate to them with every Amazon Smile purchase so this is a win-win. I am always appreciative of a company that not only builds a quality product but also provides a portion of their profits to a good cause. Stop thinking about it and buy this case already!!!
