Has anyone bought this before? It looks quite similar to the Rearth Hybrid Fusion. Add in the shipping from Amazon to Canada, and it's only a one dollar difference.

To me it looks like a frosted back, for this look you can get one way cheaper on eBay. I'm just going off of the thumbnail you have posted though. Could be wrong.
The shipping for the fusion to Canada is ridiculous! I've been thinking about ordering a few and getting them shipped to a mail delivery place in at the us border and then picking them up but after reading reviews that I wasn't sure it was worth it.

That's what I'm worried about too. I'm hoping that it's similar to the GN case ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859080 )
Saw it at a Future Shop. It's clear like the Ringke Hybrid Fusion.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Two more things to note:
1) it doesn't have the bumps at the corners like the Ringke Fusion, but the TPU lip extends above the plastic. The lip also rolls up over the screen edge, but not as much as my off-brand Diztrinuc matte TPU.
2). No watermarks, rough edges, or button issues. While the covers over the buttons are nearly flush with the rest if the edges, the TPU is thinner and has ridges moulded into the TPU, so the buttons work properly, without needing to mash them. You can feel the buttons beneath the covers, and they provide proper tactile feedback when pushed.
So, it appears the issues with the Ringke Hybrid's buttons are wry fixable, as the factory that made this case did what Ringke couldn't. It's not the exact same mould being used... but it's close. Almost identical to the one they used for the Galaxy Nexus, but with the button issues of that model fixed (you couldn't feel the buttons on the GNex version either, just like the Ringke).
Curious if they're using polycarbonate as opposed to maybe acrylic though.
It's clear polycarbonate. The sides are the matte-finish TPU, and it's not quite as thick as the Diztronic TPU on the sides.
On the upside, it doesn't have those moulding flaws reported in the Ringke Hybrid Fusion thread, and the buttons have proper indentations with thinner material in the sides to let it depress properly. Also, the PC doesn't press against the back the way the Ringke Hybrid does.
But it's definitely more slippery than my matte-finish TPU case due to the PC back. The shiny sides/matte back of my off-brand Diztronic has bad button response but more grip, due to the matte back. I may have to look at an InvisibleShield, just for the tacky orange-peel to provide a grip pier, yet still transparent surface.

When I get some daylight. It'll be from an inferior camera, alas.
Also, given some of the complaints about the Hybrud Fusion, it seems there's nowhere to go but up. I wouldn't call this a good deal at full retail price, though.
A few more photos. The buttons don't stick out at all, but they aren't stiff.

I put an Invisible Shield on the backplate of my Galaxy S i9000 for the same reason. Seems like it (or any of the similar products) are the best path to go.
I haven't done this on my Nexus S yet.
I'm was considering just buying a new backplate when it gets so beat up that I don't like the look any more.
Mine's not scratched at all that I notice after 5-6 weeks I've had it.
Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear. I want to know how bad the back cover scratches, not which case I need to buy (because if I'm going to buy a case, it's going to be the "S" curved one).
@above: thanks! Can you tell me how you carry around your phone? In your pocket? With other stuff? And where do you put it down if you don't use it? On a place where it could be scratched?
No scratches ...
Not using any case either
My phone is naked and I put it in a soft leather / fabric pouch ...
And I put it in my jeans pocket, together with keys and coins
Done this for months with my HTC Desire and it is still shinny as new!
i carry it in my horizontal belt leather case that was for my old SGS I9000
perfect fit
I already mentioned above no scratches on mine yet.
I carry it naked, in my pocket. My headphones are alway in my pocket (so there's a naked jack in there usually), and I frequently carry a second phone in the same pocket (an iPhone 4 or an i9000).
I've added a poll an edited the first post.
No scratches on mine, but that's because I keep mine in a Nexus One pouch.

I'm exactly like this, except from the keys and coins.
I don't have any scratches (I'm very pedantic with that matter) and I don't use any case (makes the phone looks ridiculous).
I have a couple little scratches... but if you pay close attention to the phone, it has a few black web scratches over a few areas. Almost reminds me of black paint on cars. My Samsung tv is made out of the same plastic and it has the web scratches.
This is an just an example of what I'm talking about....

I have couple on the back and where the usb port is. I tend to miss sometimes when it's dark and I'm tired, didn't really expect it to be scratched there. Oh well, I'll be keeping this phone for a while anyways. Also use a case, but I don't think it's doing a very good job protecting it from scratches.

I'm using a ringke slim case (highly recommend it if you want a case that absorbs shock and doesn't add too much thickness to your phone) and a screen protector, seems to do the job well so far.
Poetic Bumper case, I feel bumper cases in general are working as well, or maybe better than the other cases. I mostly went with the bumper case because I wanted to be able to see the back of the phone shine.

I don't quite know which to get. Does anyone know which one is the most resistant to wear/scratches? Do any of them look really good in person? Are there differences between the different types of wood? I'm kind've clueless here.
Obviously durability remains to be seen but I got the leather back and I like it a lot. It looks good and is very comfortable to hold. It has a nice texture, enough grip but not too much.

I posted this on reddit earlier, but it seems like it might address your concerns as well. I was initially sent a faulty device, so since it was going back anyway, I decided to have a quick go at testing the wood back's durability. I didn't go crazy on it, but I did jab at it pretty hard with my fingernail, and it was surprisingly resilient. Despite trying, I wasn't able to scratch/ dent it in any meaningful way that couldn't be rubbed out. That being said, the one downside I'm noticing with the wood backs is that they appear to be thinner than both the leather and the silicone. Pictures I have seen of the leather and silicone show the back resting flush, or slightly above the metal edge of the phone. With the wood it sits slightly below that edge and as a result there is a small metal lip around the entire outside edge of the wood back. This isn't terrible, but it is definitely something you can feel when holding the phone, and it makes the build feel slightly less premium. I will say that the wood already feels nicer to the touch than when I first received the phone. At first it feels a bit like a sticker, but I'm assuming the oils from my hands are making it feel much more like wood.
I also got the black leather. But I find it to be very slippery. I've heard the rubber backs have the best grip. Given the size of the device, the ability to hold it in one hand has to be a consideration. I like the "look" of my leather back, but the feel is too slippery. I'm hoping that as the leather wears, perhaps it will improve in grip over time. But it's not any less slippery than day one at this point.
And although the rubber may have better grip. I'm thinking something that holds to the hand better, probably holds germs better to [emoji14] . So there's a plus and minus to it more than likely IMHO.
I can only assume leather gives the best life long durability. Simply because leather should .
As mentioned, only time will tell .

I have the rubber back and wood back. Wood looks so much better, rubber feels more secure, they both are resistant to objects in my pockets, desks, dirt, etc...Think I will keep wood since its so beautiful. I'm just waiting to see what the crop of bumpers look and feel like when they start being released.

Good leather conditioner will give it just right the amount of tack and make it look good while keeping leather conditioned.
I've got the charcoal ash back and I'm loving it! I've had the phone for two weeks now and it looks exactly the same as it did when I unboxed it. I don't find it too slippery either.

Also, does anyone know if the Charcoal Ash Wood is more gray or black? I'm trying to go for a "Droid" (black and red) look, and I'm wondering if I should go with that, Ebony Wood, Black Soft Grip, or Black Leather (though probably not Black Leather considering one of you said it was slippery). I'm leaning towards wood, as it would be the most unique.

Correct, Moto Maker simulations don't come close to the real thing.
That's why I made this thread, for people to post photos or the front and back of their actual device.
I will say, the real thing looks better than Moto Maker simulations, for every design I've seen.
Now after a couple weeks use. The black leather back has good grip. Now I am happy with it as the back for the long haul. I am also going to put leather conditioner on it today.

Looking at the metal edges on the 6P reminds me of the edges on my old Note 4. The thing I'm thinking is that my Note 4s edges got scratched to hell and eventually looked a mess, even with a case on. It seemed small particles of dirt and dust gets into the case and scratches the soft metal.
I wonder if we'll have the same problem with the N6P?
Not to worry, enjoy the party here on XDA til the N6P arrives!

Those shiny edges are going to get scratched up badly, in one of the videos showing them off, you can see scratches on them already.

I plan to skin it, so I'm not concerned, but damn that is one sexy phone!!
TIL chamfer is the term for flattening the corner of an object, usually in furniture.
Google search the wear on both the black and white iPhone 5. They had chamfered edges, anodized aluminum. The wear is pretty much proportional to how often you have a case on. The chamfers will wear heavier than the rest.
IMO black wears much worse (visibly) than white but it depends if you mind having battle wounds stand out or not. I have friends who like having the silver show through the black. In the end you're only going to replace it in two - three years anyhow.
This will shine up anything, it will take the scratches out.

I have the ringke rearth fusion case, rhinoshield bumper case and a tumi case. I'm currently using the ringke case because it's clear and gives an illusion of less bezels than the other two but gives enough protection for my use
@corwin_amber Wow.. that's one of the best looking cases I've ever seen. I believe I had a case made from the same material back in the day for my iPhone 4 or 5. Have been using Nillkin Nature series on my every phone since Sony Z3. Love that it adds literally no bulk, shows the phone as it's transparent and the quality is top notch. Protection is not the best but I am very careful with my phones and never broke one in last 10 years.
OtterBox Defender.
Love the case, fits really well and feels good in the hand, port covers should limit the dirt and dust that gets into the ports and as a tradie the belt holster is essential.
Only issue I have with the case is that because the phone and case is so big you actually have to look at the phone when you're putting it back in the holster otherwise you probably won't get it in first go or your shirt/jumper/jacket will get stuck in between and the phone won't lock in and it'll hit the deck. My phone has survived several drops because of this issue, however it has so far not taken any damage... What had happened a few times though is that I've scraped the screen against the locking tab on the holster whilst shoving it in, this has resulted in a couple of micro scratches on the screen, these are only really visible when I clean the screen really well, a few fingerprints are all it takes to cover them up.
I probably should install a decent screen protector but all of the ones I've looked at are either a pain to install (Whitestone Dome and others), only have adhesive on the edges, have "grid/dot Matrix technology" (how is this a positive feature, many manufacturers advertise this way) or are only tpu or other non glass film.
Also I'm too lazy/OCD to actually get around to fitting screen protectors even when I do buy them.
Im using the Unicorn Beetle Pro by SUPCASE.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079BS4ZQ4
I've had several low height drops and even 1 drop from ear level onto pure asphalt!!! (I'm 6' tall) and the case protected the phone beautifully... Not even so much as a scratch. The case adds a bit of bulk to the phone but you get great protection.
Just a side note, I ordered this case while my Galaxy s9+ was still on preorder waiting to ship, and this is the only case I've used on it... Still holding up great. I'm considering taking the plastic screen protector out and getting a Whitestone Dome screen protector.

Still, the best is the alcantara case, hand feel is so smooth.
