Ghost armor over the whole phone. Looks and feels great.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I put an Invisible Shield on the backplate of my Galaxy S i9000 for the same reason. Seems like it (or any of the similar products) are the best path to go.
I haven't done this on my Nexus S yet.
I'm was considering just buying a new backplate when it gets so beat up that I don't like the look any more.
Mine's not scratched at all that I notice after 5-6 weeks I've had it.
Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear. I want to know how bad the back cover scratches, not which case I need to buy (because if I'm going to buy a case, it's going to be the "S" curved one).
@above: thanks! Can you tell me how you carry around your phone? In your pocket? With other stuff? And where do you put it down if you don't use it? On a place where it could be scratched?
No scratches ...
Not using any case either
My phone is naked and I put it in a soft leather / fabric pouch ...
And I put it in my jeans pocket, together with keys and coins
Done this for months with my HTC Desire and it is still shinny as new!
i carry it in my horizontal belt leather case that was for my old SGS I9000
perfect fit
I already mentioned above no scratches on mine yet.
I carry it naked, in my pocket. My headphones are alway in my pocket (so there's a naked jack in there usually), and I frequently carry a second phone in the same pocket (an iPhone 4 or an i9000).
I've added a poll an edited the first post.
No scratches on mine, but that's because I keep mine in a Nexus One pouch.

I'm exactly like this, except from the keys and coins.
I don't have any scratches (I'm very pedantic with that matter) and I don't use any case (makes the phone looks ridiculous).
I have a couple little scratches... but if you pay close attention to the phone, it has a few black web scratches over a few areas. Almost reminds me of black paint on cars. My Samsung tv is made out of the same plastic and it has the web scratches.
This is an just an example of what I'm talking about....

No scratches. All naked and I definitely don't take care of it as I should
I have couple on the back and where the usb port is. I tend to miss sometimes when it's dark and I'm tired, didn't really expect it to be scratched there. Oh well, I'll be keeping this phone for a while anyways. Also use a case, but I don't think it's doing a very good job protecting it from scratches.

x2 Best case in the WORLD.
I use a screen protector for better haptic feeling while scrolling and better visibility in bright light (reflections) - and no more fingerprint smearing. And I keep the HD2 in it's stock pouch for additional protection. It's still very slim in it's pouch but quite well protected for the thinness of this little bag This way my phone still looks like new although I wear it in my pocket at work everyday.
Nah I don't bother, dropped it several times and not a scratch (touch wood). I don't like the idea of a rubber casing that I have to remove if I need access to the battery / reset button. I'll just claim on the insurance if I damage it
Ive got a tad bit different capdase case found here
http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=5&mid=321&pid=5156
-quick to put on and take off
-metallic backing that covers the corners for extra protection
-light weight and slim (hardly noticeable)
-rubber liner that surrounds device to snug case on (excellent quality)

theres finally a otterbox for our hd2's
found here
http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=5&mid=321&pid=5156
-not so quick to put on and take off (two layers have to be put on separately)
-plastic over rubber layers - but corners of device only covered by rubber
-light weight and not so slim - phone feels a tad bulky
-rubber liner that surrounds device also covers the keys (yay) but in doing so, block out the keypad led lights... (NAY)
IMO the capdase case is the way to go.
the otterbox looks awsome but it doesent protect the corners

WTF? explain please, i never heard of a phone having a health bar
i´m just kidding man
i hate cases, it makes the phone ugly..
i didnt use a case since i have my hd2 now (7 months ) only one little scratch wich u dont really notice.
u dont need to use a case, its not only ugly, it is not even necessary
I use a leather case that I got off the bay for £3.99 yes I know it's sad but when my phones last me around 6 months I thought I best protect this one
In the past I have managed to drop a month old phone in a pint of cider, ran one over with a skip lorry, dog has eaten one, lost one in a flood when stuck in my car the list goes on.
Hang on come to think of it a case is not going to save my phone
i use the original one that comes with it ,fro 6 monthes now without an single scratch msa
What are you using or planing use to protect your phone and screen?
Zagg is supposedly good all around, the draw back, it's extremely hard to remove once you put it on, and if you fail the first time.... OMG...
Gel Case + Screen protector is the next best thing, both can be easily removed and swaped with another colour or another screen protector if it gets too scratched, unlike Zagg once you put it on, you are stuck with it forever.

thanks for the info.... darn they looks so nice on the phone.
but past experiences has taught me that hard cases does not protect the phone from accidental drops.
soft cases or gel like cases does a better job at that.

I'd go with Zagg if they were less cumbersome to install.
the last time i tried it, it was a big mess.
having to do the spray the glue, then letting it dry, etc, etc.
i don't like the idea of having to use any sort of glue like thing on the protection film to glue into the screen.
i'll probably order the Zagg just to provide some more protection for the plastic case samsung decided to use, to give it an extra layer of "armor" ... still if the drop is bad enough even the inside hinges that keeps the phone together will break regardless of how strong is the the outer shell.
I've a bad rep for dropping my phones A LOT! luckily my old HTC Athena was made of METAL case, else it would have died looong looong ago, and even with it being a metal case, i managed to crack it at the corners
since HTC Athena phone/laptop (according to the Zagg website) was not that popular, there was no soft skin case available for it, and the Zagg was not available either until much later, by then it was already too late for my phone.
the Zagg + Gel skin will make a good protection & fashion for my new Galaxy S i9000
that's the neat thing about the Gel skin, you can change the colour anytime you want to "match" your style / clothing whatever event you feel like for the day.
However the issue with the screen protection, i'll most likely not use Zagg, and only use a PET film protection, i've had all my previous phone with those PET protection and they work really well, it can be easily replaced without any glue, you can wash it and put it back, exactly what i wanted.
the Zagg screen protection you will have to spray the glue on the film, put it on, and let it dry, and you can't use your phone meanwhile it's doing that, so it's rather too inconvenient.
Also once scratched, you'll have to replace it with another Zagg, and that means you'll have to do the same rutine again.
PET film a fraction of what you'll pay for the Zagg screen protection only.
I'm rather picky on screen marks, i like them polished clean, if they have any line or dots, i usually change it right away, with Zagg, that will prove too cumbersome to do, with a PET film, just peel and throw away, and put on the new one, it's just that simple.
keep in mind on the zagg, for screen protector, they still only have ones for the galaxy, which have large cutouts for that square Nav button (the vibrant/captivate doesn't have) and cutouts for the FFC which the vibrant/captivate doesn't have
only one i've seen specific to the vibrant / captivate is the clearfreak, which btw is made here in the USA (Virginia)
do a google on em, there were some interesting reviews comparing them to phantomskinz and others
Im curious how everyone is carrying their tabs. Naked or with a case?
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy Tab
naked in coat pocket... can't buy any accessories, all out of stock
InvisibleShield on the back, screen naked, coat pocket for now, and USB cord in my pants pocket between home and work (extra cable on the way soon, I hope). While slow as hell, it does charge via USB if the screen is off.
I also have one of those Zenus folio cases on order, it'll go in that for when it's in my overnight bag, and for desktop email monitoring/seatback tray movie watching, but it'll come out for anything more than casual use otherwise, as I don't like the bulk a folio adds when trying type, read, surf or play games.
Also have one of the Samsung official leather snap-on back covers on order, shouldn't add too much bulk to the Tab, but should give me a better, more comfortable grip, as even the InvisibleShield on the back gets very slippery with long-term use (reading). That's meant for around the house, probably won't use it for travel.
Naked in my jacket pocked on my chest.
Or in my sweater side pocket.
Or sometimes in the back pocket of my jeans but then I have to take it out to sit, which is a good excuse to show it off ;-)
got this care for the nook. just a zipper case enclosing. i'm trying to look for a stand now that i can put inside the case, no luck yet. i do want to get some invisible shield on the back. i got steinheil crystal clear on the screen.

hello all tmo usa sold me a rubber bodywith hard plastic on it for a stand i use the screen protector that came on the device and i had an old personal assident u know one of the same binders the mead made for the calender and used some velcrow tape so now i have a protector rubber body plus the personal assident cover to travel with but leave it in the car or my home and when carrying its in my pocket
I barely take it out of the house, I usually cycle to work with my Desire on the handlebars tracking my rides. These past few days I've had to take the bus due to the bike being broken so I've had it naked (never bought a case for any phone I've owned and I'm carrying that on with my Tab) in my front jeans pocket, it's small enough to stay there when I'm sat down too without being uncomfy
I'm using a Belkin leather case, no screen protection. The case was a gift from the store where i bought my Tab

the screen protector that i hav is that thin screen shield that comes on it when u first take it out the box, i never took it off
Hung on my kilt belt, inside my fur sporran with 3G off. Really convenient.
in a case I made using a calculator case that ended up fitting my Tab perfectly as a base. Added some stuff to hold it in place and a few pockets. soo glad it only costed me like 3.00$ to make it.
If I'm in car it's just lying on my front seat, if I'm on m.bike it's in my front jeans pocket

Since there are no available screen protectors here in the Philippines. I used the screen protector for Ipad and cut it to fit the 7 inch screen of the Tab.
Also bought a Case logic padded casing which is for Kindle and had to do some modifications as well.

Scoshe standing leather case. I had the rubber deal with a plasc frame but I couldn't access the sim and sd slots. Plus, the stand on it sucked. I highly recommend the leather guy. The folding/standing mechanism works excellently but I see it fatiguing the leather in a short amount of time.
I carry in Otterbox
Simple question. Do you rock a case on the Note 3, or are you running it raw dog style?
I've now tried two cases, the Spigen Neo Hybrid and the UAG. Didnt like the Spigen at all. Love the storm trooper look of the UAG but that thing is nearly impossible to remove and it doubles the thickness of the phone. Plus, as a huge fan of the appearance of the Note3, I'm not sure I'd really like any case at all.
Thinking of throwing a tempered glass protector on the screen and calling it good.
I run it naked.
I love the look too, but not the feel. The leather appearance of the back looks great but gives very little grip. I have an otterbox defender and that same old patterned belt clip/holster that Verizon has been selling for years with their smartphones. I almost bought that spigen s-view case until I saw pictures of how it cracked one user's screen. I don't really like cases on my phone either but i'm not brave enough to go without a case. Samsung phones have been known to be kinda fragile.

It slips over the top and bottom, rather than back/front. So it will not pop off when you drop it.
And it has a kickstand on the back!

Yeah, I think I paid $30-ish for it. Had one for my last phone, an S3. Dropped it 3 stories off a balcony onto a sidewalk. There was a decent dash on the case, but no phone damage. Definitely worth it.

I love running the Note 3 naked. The only issue is that the back gets slippery at times. I had my first drop today ?. I like my Spigen case, but it's difficult to plug headphones in sometimes.

I run it naked as well. I'm actually more worried about scratching the display since I haven't dropped a phone in many years (knock on wood!). I've been contemplating getting the S view cover since it doesn't add to the thickness at all, but I use the phone so much it would be such a hassle to keep having to open it (and hold it open while using it).
I'm insanely ocd about the display because it somehow got scratched on my last phone (gnex) like a month after I bought it, just by putting it display side down on a table. It bothered the hell out of me for the following 23 months straight. Scratch resistant my ass.
I've tried a few glass screen protectors but they eventually peel away at the edges and it looks horrible. Suffice to say I'll never put ANY phone display side down again, and I always have a death grip on it when I'm using it...so I'm good to go.
Poetic Borderline bumper case because it's just enough protection without getting in the way. And it fits the slightly thicker Samsung wireless charging cover.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Spigen Glas-Tr slim to protect the screen and depending on my mood either a TPU or metal bumper. The back is like $10 to replace if it ever gets scratched up so I don't bother putting anything on the back except for a FlyGrip to help me one-hand the phone. I did order a white back so I go back and forth between them - the white back looks cool w a metal bumper.

I always thought the gnex had gorilla glass...??? That's why I'm so paranoid about this phone. I know it's obviously a much newer technology as far as the glass, but I'm paranoid nonetheless.
I would love to see a legitimate scratch test done. I could only find one test done and it was with a knife, and wasn't really that clear. When the hell would I ever scratch the display with a knife?!?
They need to do some common sense, real world testing...i.e. putting the phone in and out of jean pockets with the metal rivets on them, and with keys and other objects in the pocket. Also placing it display side down on different surfaces and moving it around, etc.
Looking at the metal edges on the 6P reminds me of the edges on my old Note 4. The thing I'm thinking is that my Note 4s edges got scratched to hell and eventually looked a mess, even with a case on. It seemed small particles of dirt and dust gets into the case and scratches the soft metal.
I wonder if we'll have the same problem with the N6P?
Not to worry, enjoy the party here on XDA til the N6P arrives!
Then it will all be sorted with hands on this cool device!

My friend and I were wondering the exact same thing. I'm hoping that b/c the body is metal, it won't have the same problem that the Note 4 has since that was plastic.

Those shiny edges are going to get scratched up badly, in one of the videos showing them off, you can see scratches on them already.

TIL chamfer is the term for flattening the corner of an object, usually in furniture.
Google search the wear on both the black and white iPhone 5. They had chamfered edges, anodized aluminum. The wear is pretty much proportional to how often you have a case on. The chamfers will wear heavier than the rest.
IMO black wears much worse (visibly) than white but it depends if you mind having battle wounds stand out or not. I have friends who like having the silver show through the black. In the end you're only going to replace it in two - three years anyhow.
This will shine up anything, it will take the scratches out.
