I am flashing the unofficial releases (kltedv CM13) as they are published. I noticed my s-cover/smart cover function (switches screen on and off with open and close) that had been working up until the 2015-12-18 release is no longer working, or the function has been removed. Any information on this, or how to get it back?
Any update on this one? I'd fancy having the automatic screen on/off functionality back.
Edit:
Installed this to get the flip cover functionality: github. com/habeIchVergessen/HallMonitor
It appears to be somewhat hacky however and isn't exactly as responsive as I'd like it to be.
Well i have resolved this but... I have a nillkin app working with my sview cover, but it always after install asks the unlock key that was shipped with the card. (The card i have stolen from another nillkin sview case, and i'm a very bad guy). i can give the app, maybe some one can hack it. It works with CM13

Hello. First of all sorry for my english ( I'm French)
I just discovered something the troubles me with my S5 and I can't find on Google if someone has the same experience as me.
So, let me explain:
I lock my phone with my fingerprint, everything is OK, phone is locked and can only be unlock with my finger or a pin code.
BUT, I've got the sView cover (samsung.com/fr/consumer/mobile-phones/accessories/mobile-accessories/EF-CG900BGEGWW) that lock the phone when you close it and awake it when you open it, etc.
When I close the sview or when a notification appear in the specific area of the cover you have the possibility to open the photo mini-app to, well, take a photo without unlock your phone.
So, thing is that when your phone is automatically locked when you close the cover, you can launch the photo "mini-app" ( cover closed ), open up the cover, you are now on the full photo app and just click on the home button and... phone is unlocked!
No need of fingerprint or pin or whatsoever.
This is really disturbing.
Anyone else with this -security fail-?
In the last stock Rom, you can take a photo with the sview cover, but, if you open the cover, appear the lock screen and you need unlock with the fingerprint or code to access the photo app.
My s view cover will be delivered tomorrow or Tuesday, I'll let you know if I have the same problem.
I'm running phoenix ROM.

I've just tested this on a 900F running ANG2 BTU software and i can't replicate your issue so it looks like they must have addressed this problem with the latest version
more and more often my wife's S4 will turn into a black screen with the time at the top of screen...this will happen at random times she says, checking texts or looking at gallery pic's.
she has a generic phone case with a magnet to close the full cover (not a windowed cover.) BUT, like me, she leaves this full cover open (bent backwards and the magnet holds it that way) ALL of the time. i'm thinking the phone decides to go into Sview mode or something?? is there a way i can turn this feature off, or fix this problem another way??
BTW, she is running Android 4.4.4
thanks for any insight! --- art
bump?
Seems like you should be able to turn it off somehow. However, it might be a software issue in the case a data factory reset should fix it. If it's a hardware issue then I would take it to my provider or Best Buy to look at it.
i removed the case yesterday and it hasn't happened ... yet! hopefully that fixed it. thanks for the reply Stoney!
Hey guys.
I have zenfone 5 and maybe 6 months later i bought a flip cover.
I just flashed CM 12.1 and the problem is that this cover works only with ZenUI (when i open the cover, it turns on the screen and when i close the cover, it turns off the screen)
Any suggestions how to make it work?
I like CM UI so far and i don't want get back that boring ZenUI.
It does not work with CM, although you could try some app to do that, but I believe that there isn't any that works with Zenfone cover.
Install xposed and install proximity sensor app that will b found in xposed installer I hope it will work because u r using CM 12.1 same as me...
I broke the screen of my X Compact and replaced it myself. I used a replacement where screen and frame were already glued together. However, now the fingerprint reader is not working anymore. The phone seems like there is no fingerprint reader installed at all. The system (settings and diagnosis app) does not even give me the menus related to the fingerprint reader. Other apps also do not see it. The power button however works as expected. Therefore my questions to you fellow X Compact owners:
Did anyone else replace the screen successfully?
Or did anyone else have the same problem?
Did anyone replace the fingerprint reader successfully?
Thank you for your help!
P.S.: Besides this issue, the phone is very easy to open and to replace parts, except for the battery. Sony used very little glue, and many components can be replaced seperately. The only problem is that the battery is glued to the main board, which could be a problem when one eventually has to replace the battery...
You can still replace the battery fairly easily, though it is a bit hard to get off.
Did your replacement come with the button flex cable or did you use yours? The connectors and such are all well? This never happened to me on the z5c, which I think is very similar to the X compact. You didn't change anything in the software?

thank you for your answer! I kept the fingerprint reader, I just migrated it from the old frame to the new one. I kept all the flexcables too. The button itself is working, just the finger print part is not. The connector should be well, I re-opened it and checked. No software change.
Did you ever replace a fingerprint reader? Is there hardware verification?
My fingerprint sensor stopped working after I dropped the phone (in Spigen case - nothing broke).
There no even imprint option in settings as it was before.
Is it dead? There is a way to check it without opening the phone?
So, I removed the back cover and saw that connector's assembly to the mother board broken. No way to fix it without replacing the motherboard.
Decided to live without fingerprint.
P.s. with scalpel the remove of the back cover is pretty easy.
