Immediately after official MM OTA update (stock, no root/bootloader or any other messing around) people start complaining they cannot hear me well !
After sorting most of MM issues this is a major pain in the a**
Let Moto know about this as it makes the phone crippled.
How come there aren't any more complaints about this serious issue !
This is 100% MM related - People complain they can barely hear me on the other end of the line - I sound muffled, stuttered and basically bad to the point they cannot continue the conversation and demand I call them from a land line !
Forget all MM bugs, problems, etc (need I mention the Equalizer went AWOL) now this Smartphone which I highly praised and loved became a ...smart something - with no phone feature.
Help me let Moto support be aware of this issue.
Thanks
Got the following advise from Motorola support on chat - it seems to help - please tell me if it work for you:
please go to settings > apps > all > Audio Effects app - Tap Force Stop - Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Also under settings > apps > all > go to Phone app - Tap Force Stop - Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Now please turn off the phone and when you turn it back on try making a call.

MobileVoip is known to malfunction on Atrix (muted audio on both sides) and as I've seen in Market comments, some other Moto devices suffer the same issues. However I found a way to make it work under CM7.
1.
Settings ->
CM settings ->
Application ->
Perm. management - put checkmark
2.
Settings ->
Manage applications ->
MobileVoip ->
scroll down to Permissions and tap under Hardware controls
"change your audio settings" to disable it (see attached screenshot)
That's it. Now the program works as it should.
I don't know if there's an app that gives similar permissions management functionality. If you know one, it could possibly fix the issue on other ROMs, so feel free to update this thread for others.
mobile voip fix works
i use this on pc and on my wife's iphone4. it works great. on my atrix cm7 it didn't worked. this post fix this. good job maajstor i tested calls only but as soon as i can i test sms too. EU is getting closer

No, none of updates fixed it.
I've given up on this app since CM7 has built-in VoIP capabilities.
Settings -> Call settings -> Internet call settings
Under Accounts I set up an account that I have with nonoh.net (should work with any VoIP provider with SIP support), and under "Use internet calling" I set it to ask for each call. I don't need it for SMSing, and I don't use it for incoming calls, so this suits my needs perfectly.
Hi,
I am facing some serious issues while using mobilevoip app. Before I was using GingerDx v022 with alfs , It was working properly.
Now, I changed to Mini CM 2.1.9 by Naa with Naa Kernel V11, I can use the app first time only. It will log in & work properly. After logout and I tried to run it again it won't connect any more. But I found a temporary solution by pressing "Clear Data" in manage application settings.
Do any body have idea what could be wrong?
Can anyone get s voice to work? It perfectly recognizes what I am saying but doesnt respond, even the open commands. It just comes back with say hi galaxy to wake me up.
I tried to use it a few times but no real success. Disabled the double button press on the home button until they get it working. I can search the web on my own.

It sort of works for me, but it's not perfect on recognizing my voice. I said "Tell me a joke", it picked up "Tell me agenda"

I texted once using S-Voice last night, but it didn't get my message right. Today, it transcribes what I say, but then ignores it and brings up the say Hi Galaxy bit.
that is what it does to me also. I wonder why?

I was trying out my BT headset and opened the mike up and there was SVoice... After a number of I agree to docs, I asked for the weather, navigation, the population of a few cities, and it seems to work well. However, it kept my mike open all the time waiting for me to say Hi Galaxy, that's bad. It also stopped speaking and I do know where its mute button is.

Clear S-Voice
Ran into this same problem with S Voice. It wasn't responding at all and started giving me the silent treatment (like my wife who said I was talking to the phone more than her).
Here's what did the trick to get the phone working again, hope this helps someone:
Go to Settings > Application Manager > All.
Scroll down to S Voice then select it and press the Clear Data.

Wow it worked, thanks!
While it is not that accurate, S Voice works well for setting alarms, tasks/reminders, and "record voice" memos...
How does the SVoice compare to SpeakToIt? Can it pass the woodchuck test?

She replied " Opinion vary but I think Samsung Galaxy is the best of them all " :victory:

edit: figured out i cant have bluetooth on and use svoice? wtf?

Yesterday I encountered problem with S-voice. It odes not respond to any command it either shows "Say Galaxy to wake me up" or nothing at all, just shows my voice command in the bubble. I do not have any custom ROMs or rooted phone, just have Swype beta installed. I've tried reboot, but same results. Any ideas how to solve this situation? Thank you
Have u tried saying galaxy or pressing the button before speaking?

Try switching to language > English (UK) and see if it works. To get English (US) to work try going to android settings > application manager > All > S Voice > clear data. I had this problem too and got it working correctly now.
You *could* do as grimphate suggests, but it's probably easier jes tuh adopt a chav affectation when usin f**kin s-voice, innit?
it worked
Switching between languages did not work, but clearing data did. All good for now. Thank you for the help

Worked for me too, but I barely used it, maybe 20 commands total. if I have to do this every time it is worthless...
Well first of all, i don't know if this works for other android phones but it fixed bugs on my S4 lollipop version.
Which i believe it will do because most of android have developer mode and have the "do not keep activities" on settings.
Bugs/problems are:
Keyboard auto hide while typing
Apps hangs then closes anytime
Phone automatically goes back to home then wallpaper changes on its default wallpaper.
••if you're having the same problem or have some if these problems, you can try this••
Steps :
1. Go to settings > more > developer option
(If you dont have "developer option". Go to Settings > more > About device. Look for "Build number" and tap it 12 times.
2. Swipe down and find "Do not keep activities".
3. Enable/Check it.
Done! Please leave a reply if it works on your phone. Thanks

"Do not keep activities" means that, every time you leave an app, it will close it. This means that the app won't stay in the cache.

I know.. And maybe the reason why apps crashes is because of apps that opened before are still active.

It's called multitasking. Multitasking means doing X different things at the same time. This also implies that the apps do not close once you switch to another. Otherwise it's just exiting and entering a different app.
The S4 should be able to run a several apps at the same time without running out of memory, without killing them or without them crashing.
Hearing the various bugs about the Samsung lollipop, I say it's better to switch to AOSP roms. At least you also get good performance from them. Unlike the Touchwiz roms..

yes. i'm kinda worried about this problem. i can't even use my phone properly. bug shows up again, and it means procedures i mentioned above doesn't really work. I will just downgrade it to kitkat again. BTW, my imei turns 0000/01 and doesn't have network . do you know how to fix this without using z3x box?

Same here.
ahh so thats the "critical update" i declined. Was wondering what it was since there were no apps that needed updating in the store. Wonder what it does
It's update for fixing DQA keeps stopping issue.
I had mine suddenly download and install 3 things from the galaxp app store yesterday without me knowing anything about it. Personalized service client, samsung pass, and LED view cover icon editor. I thought I had been hacked and someone was downloading sutff to my phone!! No idea why it suddenly started doing that by itself. I have turned auto update apps off now in the galaxy app store, I guess they were already installed and were just auto updating (and i have no disabled them all in package disabler since they all seemed like junk).
I dont know what DQA does, wonder if its another one we can safely disable.

From what I understand, DQA has to do with checking the quality of your Wi-Fi. You'll notice if you turn your Wi-fi off, you'll stop getting those messages. Some have had success with going into your running Apps and force stopping the DQA. That didn't help me though and rebooting several times (which has also helped some) didn't work for me either. Still working through options. If anyone has other ideas...

I havent had any issues with or or any messages about it either before it updated or after. I usually have wifi on but have turned it off today and not noticed anything either. I have not disabled it in package disabler as i didnt know what it did, it doesnt seem to be using battery so i will just leave it on.
This is what I've found from Android Authority...
- Reboot device (may need to repeat a few times)
- Clear cache partition through recovery (turn off phone, press and hold Power, Volume Up and Bixby button. On Android screen, when you see ‘No command’ hold power and press volume up to access recovery. Use volume keys to highlight ‘Wipe cache partition’ and press Power to select. Highlight ‘Yes’ and press Power to confirm, then reboot phone)
- Turn off Wi-Fi
- Disable high performance mode
- Force quit DQA app (go to Settings > Apps and tap the overflow menu (three dots at the top right), tap ‘Show system apps’ and locate DQA. Tap it and ‘Force stop’)
- Disable DQA app with BK Package Disabler (costs $1.50, does not require root). Install app, grant permissions, swipe to System tab, find DQA and check the box next to it (simply uncheck to re-enable).
I haven't tried all these options yet. Let me know if any help should you decide to try.
I'm bumping this topic. Tried googling DQA, but very little seems to be known about it. If it indeed is checking the quality of the wifi, is it really safe to disable?

Hi, have you found any info regarding DQA? I found it among the recommended apps to disable/uninstall on Universal Android Debloater, but still I read somewhere that some of the apps disabled through UAD might be important, so I'm not sure about what to do.
