Anyone find a setting they like other than default?
Here is 360.
Seems like a good way to cram more on the screen.

Anyone knows what was the default value? I can't either remember or find it, and I need to change it back to flash OTA update, because now it says "unexpected changes in /system/build.prop" :/

if you go too low some apps will misbehave. currently i am at 430 and everything works fine except the front camera button doesn't work, whenever i tap the front camera button it captures a pic.

You did not change the build.prop? The alternative (without rooting) is causing most of the apps to misbehave

If you use Xposed + App Settings Module, to set the DPI to 480 for misbehaving apps, the phone works wonderfully at any DPI in build.prop
The two apps that I have found need to be set @ 480 are:
Moto Camera
Moto Display

If you set dpi to 400. You dont need to set anything separately for different apps. Everything looks same.

Hi all,
Under the Quick Settings pull down menu, the first button is the User Account. It shows the user's name and profile picture(if there is one). I've associated a picture with the user profile; but a while later, even after I removed/deleted the picture, the picture still shows up under the Quick Settings pull-down. My question is, is it possible to have the icon revert back to the default android user icon(below)?

Yes I have. In the contacts app, my profile doesn't have a picture anymore. However, the picture still shows up under the Quick Setting menu.
so the picture doesn't show up under Quick Setting menu if you delete yours from the profile?

Not sure then. Mine is from Google + profile pic so if I delete it then it removes the picture in the quick toggles.
You may just need to wipe and start clean.

Damn this issue doesn't even affect the phone in anyway, it's just my personal preference. A wipe needs so much work D:

Dear all,
My phone rooted using method root de la vega, stock room BMJ1 firmware.
i hate the notification font is too large, and i tried to search around there are no way to set it smaller like really small, and when i have lots of notifications coming in, i need to scroll all the way down, can i cant preview the most of the notification text (too large).
Is there any apps or setting in the phone can change the size of the fonts or the drawer size to smaller ?

You can change the dpi for system.ui using xposed framework with the app settings module. You could also change the dpi globally in the build prop.

I realise how late this reply is, but I was having the same issue and I figured it out
I found that changing the DPI to 420 shrinks it down just right but you can play with the number to get the size you want, a bigger number means that the elements are bigger.

Have the same issue - notification too big. Want to shrink it down.
When I change the DPI, can you limit this to just the notification? If so, which setting applies to this?
Any chance you can upload a sample? Be good to see it Thanks!

I think he just changed it globally. But if you use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-app-settings-v1-7-1-2013-12-15-t2437377
you can change the dp for systemui.apk only.

I had this app installed that provided the ability to autohide the softkeys, but decided to uninstall it. After rebooting the phone it still has the softkeys autohiding, and I am not sure where to look to disable this function.

I emailed the programmer but haven't heard back as of yet, and wonder if anyone else has an idea where to look to restore softkeys to default.

Did you restore the soft keys before uninstalling the app? That would be my first step. If that does not work, you'll have to reflash your rom.

Actually there doesn't appear a way to disable the auto hide in the app.

Looking at the screenshots in the Play Store, it gives me the impression that you can toggle them on or off.

Those screens in the App Store are no where to be found, not even in the paid version.
So I reflashed:
system.img
boot.img
vendor.img
But the softkeys are still autohiding. Looks like I need a complete wipe to get rid of it. I find it disheartening that the screenshots shown on the Appstore that show a way to disable the app are not actually part of the installed app.

Unfortunately, that's on the developer to maintain and they appear to be unhelpful. Everything should go back to normal after a factory reset. I suggest using a custom rom to auto hide those keys, if you are so inclined.

Is there a way to take a screen shot without the edge panel also showing up in the screenshot?
Do you mean the whole Edge panel, or just the little tab?

You can make the tab invisible within the edge panel settings.

You can do this by using Google Nows on tap feature (make sure it's enabled in Google now settings). Just hold the home button, press share and it will take a screenshot of that window only. The only downside being that you have to send it immediately, it does not save.

I'm trying to do this while in the gallery of pictures. Example: Zoom into a pic and then just screen shot the image leaving the original untouched.

The easiest solution is to just crop the photo. It will save as a separate photo.

I set the transparency to 0% and it's still visible I changed the size to small the only way in the tmobile variant seems to be that you have to turn the edge panel off to do this.

Thanks that worked nicely
I found a way through nova launcher to get the content on your screen to be even smaller than the default options in the display menu.
1. Create a widget nova activity.
2. Go to the settings subsection and select screen.
3. Then you will have a shortcut to the screen below and you can select small, medium, or large.
I thought you guys who love changing the DPI would like the small option as it is smaller than the default options in the display menu.

This is the same as changing the system font to "tiny" in the settings. You can change dpi by selecting "display scaling activity" instead of "screen". Just change it to "condensed". Good looking on the nova activity though. Thanks
This is how I do it on my non rooted S7.. could be different on the note however
