Wrong Firmware LG G2 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First, excuse me for my english, it's not my first language.
I need to know a lot of information about this phone, when I look at "About phone" it says that is a D802 model(On the back of the phone there is a mention that's a D802 model), but when I plug it to PC it's detected as LS980 (I removed the back of the phone and look at the motherboard, it's a G2 LS980),so, I downloaded the D802 Firmware, I flash it and bingo there is nothing normal on the phone, no wifi, no cellular network, and the great problem is the touch screen, when I click in an area it moves in another, then I tried a lot of Firmwares and nothing wont's to back normal, I followed a tutorial in XDA forums that says that I must edit a .tot file with FlexHex in order to repair the phone, but it stays not normal.
Please help me I want to get back my phone into life.
Thank you

U must to install ls980 tot or kdz if that not work install d801 kdz or tot that work for my friend

I tried this
When I flashed the phone with the .tot (LS980ZV8_13.51097.tot) file everything goes wrong on the phone (Bad display, I can't see what the phone is showing, and when I flash it with the KDZ file the display has many errors, when I put my fingers on, it moves in another area, there is no IMEI, no Wifi, and when I try to plug my phone on PC in order to flash it with Fastboot this one don't recognize my phone because here is no IMEI, I think I must restore the IMEI before trying to do anything, what do you think ?

It looks like you got one of the hacked together "refurbished" ones. All you can really do is try flashing different tot files to hopefully get it working again.

check ur exact model through your phone's imei number from imei (dot) info and then flash the correct TOT file. Had a friend buy a G2 which originally 801 but flashed into 802.

Here's the problem

When I check the phone model with IMEI it says that a D802, and when I open the back of the phone it says that's a LS890, the IMEI of the phone is, can you check it for me ?
I think that the only way to restore my phone is to edit the .tot file with FlexHex in order to modify some lines of the Firmware, but I don't know which lines to edit! If there's a link to modified Firmware with FlexHex, please give it to me.
Thank you

Flash the LS980 tot first, following this guide step by step:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687768
First flash the JB firmware via this TOT method of D802. IF not then follow as below
(Just make sure u have LS980 tot file, downloaded from http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/LS980/Stock_Firmware)
(probably the set you got had build prop edited to change the device info).
If it results in an error, use the dll in next posts in the same thread.
Edit: http://goo.im/devs/androiduser00110001/ROM/G2/KK/D80220a/LGUP_8974.dll
Keep in mind that I do not take any responsibility of the damage resulting in this cross-flashing, I'm just helping u to go back to the correct firmware.
P.S Remove the imei from ur post.

Will try this

[Q] My D803 (Bell) is a D801? WTH?

So long story short I screwed my phone up and had to use LG Flash Tool to make it work again. The weird thing is, when I tried to flash a D803 .TOT file the LG Flash Tool said "wrong phone model" or something along those lines. It then said "D801" was my phone model. I searched and searched and SEARCHED for Bell D801 and could only find people saying it's D803. Well, I said screw it and downloaded TMobile's D801 .TOT and flashed it. The phone works now but it has a TMobile boot animation. It still connects to Bell fine, but here's the main issue;
Part of my touchscreen doesn't work anymore and I'm still under warranty if I can just get the phone back to stock to have it sent in. How can I do this? Any help? Also, does flashing with the LG Flash Tool make it so LG can't see I ever rooted the phone?
Thanks!
Maybe its a wind phone? I believe those are d801s because I have a bell one and that is D803

So are you saying there is no TOT? I cant get the kdz method to work... so i need a tot.
Ok so I typed my IMEI into some site and it said my phone is indeed a D803! However, because I flashed a TMobile .TOT to the phone, my phone thinks it's a D801. Oh god... How do I fix this now?
BUMP!
Hmm I'm not sure how you can go back but if you are within warranty you can try wrecking the system (so it doesn't work) and send it in for repair... They will reinstall a new version
Maybe your bootloader or whut was d801?? Idk but can you try to flash this kdz http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Canada+D803/
Then the one from bell? I hope its gonna be alright if you can flash it. Note that if you screw up with flashing then try not to wreck your system but try to repair it you itself since a system wreckage doesn't come fromself and lg doesnt need to pay the price to fix it. Even under warranty. I know lg screws up stuff but flashing is at own risk.
Edit: I sawmyour other thread so nvm.
Alright so I redownloaded LG Flash Tool and everything and I put my phone in download mode. It starts updating my firmware, it gets to 49% and then fails and says "TYPE_WPARAM_UPGRADE_ERROR" in the log. What does this mean and how do I fix it? I think when I flashed the TMobile .TOT it made my Bell phone think it is TMobile and maybe that's why I'm getting this error. How do I fix my phone and make it realize it's D803?

Change your windows language and locals like unicode to english if it wasn't
Turn off or allow the app through your antivirus.
Reinstall LG USB Driver, LG Flash Tool etc
Change the LG device in Device manager to COM port 41 or COM port 4 before connecting to PC.
See or your KDz weights around 2gb and not less then it cause that would be maybe a sign of an corrupted KDZ.
The last thing what i also think is that the Lg flash tool maybe reads the D801 in the build.prop or what and as safety measure it cuts off the flashing progress so you might change the D801 to D803 or however it was called in Bell.
Hope that one of these things could solve your problem.

Thanks for the info, but how do I change the build prop? I tried the adb usb thing and I get "device closed"
Woohoo! I fixed the bi*ch! Sorry, I'm a little excited here... Anyway, I followed the instructions above and it worked. I think the above is well written and easy to understand except for one thing: How to change build number (if you're like me and flashed the wrong TOT).
It's simple. Make sure you have a rooted phone and download root explorer (black icon with a little android face). Next, follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948558
Make sure you change the model number before you try flashing the kdz only if you messed up with tot flashing like me. Otherwise, as mentioned above, make sure you're on COM41. This worked great. Now I can take my bell phone back to the store and have it seen to (I have a hardware issue with the screen no sensing touch in certain areas).

When you said you restored, what exactly did you do? The best way to troubleshoot software issues is to flash stock firmware back with the kdz method. If it's a software problem that should fix it.

Help... Imei null

Hi, first of all, this is my first thread on XDA... this is the best site to find any answer related to phones...
Im experiencing a very hard trouble here with my LG G2 D805
I bought it refurbished from a person who made a wrong flash to this device and he gave it to me bricked... so i decided to get into the task to fix this phone... first i made it power on in the first day... the phone on the back cover, says d805, but in hardware info says d802...
i read about about those changes and it was something "common" and "easy" to fix, but hey... then i checked and had Imei NULL... and it begun to restart almost every 3 minute... this is supposed to happen when there's a wrong modem.img on the phone....
the phone says on the back that its a 805, so i went into tutorials to make the 802 root and recovery,, i got it.. then i tried all of this:
- Try to change my build.prop model number, no success
- Tried flashing 805 modems (i found 3 different), no success
- I found other tutorial where it can be fixed with tot files, and i found dll and tot for 805. no success
- Tried normal flash on lg flashtool with 805 kdz, no success
- Tried CDMA>Cs_Emergency>CSE flash, no success
- Tried uninstalling all drivers and again the above, no success
I found just one way to make it "work" and as long as i had recovery, i flashed cloudy rom... it works, doesnt reboot or anything... But the only thing I'm missing is my IMEI... it shows NULL, and also i dont have baseband, but can use everything except simcard related
the KDZ's i've tried are here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=36
I tried with:
D80510A_00.kdz
D80510B_00.kdz
D80210A_00.kdz
and its variables from countries
also tried all this steps and flashed that only tot file that i could get to find of 805: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667258

@GTMoraes i think you choose the hard way, and i need to tell you,the phone is not a D802 now. and no one need to accept that, there are more easy ways (i past for this and i learn how to fix whithout flash a D802 kdz) than make your D805 a D802 G2:
1. Uninstall your drivers and install again
2. Just replace the the phone build.prop for a D805 build.prop reboot and flash your D805 kdz, done.
3. if you done have a D805 build.prop just edit the one you have and change all d802 lines for d805, reboot and flash your D805 kdz, done.
4. try the @monkey5i solution ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50751778&postcount=9), it works too.
5. if the 2 past ways dont work for you, do this:
- follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475045
- for the guide use this tot file http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprim...N_LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G.zip and the attached dll file
- follow the guide and done, this guide unbrick any LG G2 Variant whit the proper tot and dll file.
6. share this post for any who have problem going back to stock or the 49% flash error.

If you truly have d802 hardware, you may have to flash a d802 modem in order to get your IMEI back. Do this at your own risk but it has worked for some of the d802 frankenphones that actually have d800 hardware. (d800 modem restores IMEI in their case)

Need EFS backup from an AT&T D800
Hi, I have the issue IMEI = null sinse I've done an update of a rebadged D802 (really D800) from KK to LP, I tried everything i found in forums but nothing changed.
I can't use NV tools or QPST because the phone is not recognised and the connection can't be maintained.
So, the last solution i didn't try yet is to flash an EFS backup from another AT&T D800.
so, where can I find an EFS backup (with IMEI 0 or real IMEI, i'll change it with mine)
It'll be very nice if someone helps me getting my phone back to work
Thanks

[Q] Possible epic brick...read inside for details!

So, I fudged up here. I installed a BUMPed KK bootloader thinking my kernel and recovery were BUMPed. Was using Render Kernel, turns out the Lollipop version is BUMPed, not KK. Good job, me! Got secure boot error loop and I still had TWRP, so I flashed the JB baseband. No boot. Tried to restore a backup I had (Mahdi + Render). No boot. Well, might as well use LG Flash Tools to go back to stock. Like I haven't done it 80 times before....Failed! Failed! Failed! . . . Failed! (I can't remember how many times I've tried).
I've tried every which way and LG Flash Tool gives me this:
PID: NULL
IMEI: NULL
Model :
DLL : D800
BIN : LGD800AT-01-V10o-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot
SWV :
SWOV :

8.- Start LGFlashTool, place the .dll and .tot file then press ok
9.- Press the icon "PLAY"

It says model information check failed.
Did you maybe flashed another rom before or what because the LG Flash tool first checks as a safety measure or your phone is really D800, but you might have a mod or yeah I don't know what you all did but your phone Might is now D803 or some other number I don't know. But what you can do is edit the Dll with some hexeditor as far as I remember to D801, D803 etc Till flashing works.
So just edit the D800 DLL to think that it must check for another device model number which your rom has which you used last? And you should be fine with your issue and you can continue flash it to stock normally. I hope it's not too late for you yet cause it will spare you some bucks.

Or just try to find the good dll file, or a DLL file without checking phone model is maybe the best. I hope you can still fix your problem. Goodluck mate,

I hex edited the DLL and TOT files. Turns out the TOT is what I needed to edit, not the DLL, as I could use the "universal" DLL. I started seeing the firmware being updated and said "O M G." My brain couldn't even comprehend it. :highfive:

I hex edited the DLL and TOT files. Turns out the TOT is what I needed to edit, not the DLL, as I could use the "universal" DLL. I started seeing the firmware being updated and said "O M G." My brain couldn't even comprehend it. :highfive:

Nice to hear that you solved your issue, now have fun with your G2
Also nice to see your signature device change :good:

[Fixed]no IMEI,bad touchscreen after flashing D802 kdz.

I am not a dev or expert,I am just a regular guy who is suffering after buying franken D802.while trying to fix it,I have read a lot and saw that 70% users can't get there phone back. And TOT hex editing seems pretty hard to me as I could never pass previousload error.
So lets start from the beginning. I bought a D802,then I tried upgrading it by D802 kdz.now the phone has
1.No IMEI
2.bad touchscreen.
3.internal storage or MTP isn't shown on PC.
4.etc.
Now let's start.
1.open up the phone,see what's written in the motherboard.most of the time it's D800.
2.then get an OTG mouse and try to root it via apps like kingroot ,stumproot etc.because PC rooting method with IOroot doesn't work most of the time.
And don't worry if it shows error, keep trying.
Important:
*it's not possible sometimes to download apps via WiFi.I don't know why.if that happens, try installing them from a pendrive connecting via OTG HUB.
*If apps never gets installed, disable Verify Apps from settings>security
3.after rooting, change the model number and all D802 to your model(D800 in my case) via editing build.prop with any apps like es file explorer or build prop editor.
4.reboot device and see if software version, and model number changed.
5.flash D800 or your TOT or KDZ without any editing, from download mood.if your download mood shows secure boot error, use SRK tools to fix it,and SELECT D802,again SELECT D802 in SRK tools.
Because if you choose your model, like D800,your phone will go in fastboot mood.
Bingo!maybe your G2 is back! ✌?
Off topic:Took me 1.5 months to find a way to fix it! ?
I am stuck a fastboot mood after selecting D800 in SRK tools.
Fastboot devices aren't recognized and no QHSUSB_BULK .?
I am really afraid of tearing the phone up and shorten pins or something!

I don't think you have to shorten pins if you have fastboot!
What's your phone shown while connected to fastboot mood in PC?

Oh I had the exact same problem! ?
Uninstall all drivers, then installed updated LG drivers.and then install PDAnet.
Look at device manager. It should show your device as ADB interface or something and your phone should have a new line "fastboot processing commands"....

Pdanet drivers did my work exactly as you say!! ?
Now what img should I flash?
D802 or D800?
Of course D802 as it thinks its a D802.
Then flash KDZ,then after booting up try doing as op..
Best of luck .. ?
You are a life saver!
Worked perfectly without any haste.
Thanks alot

Open up the motherboard and see what's written there.
But most probably you have D800.
And if that is the model, here you go for the Tot.

I flashed 10o version with the method above.

so what type of file i flash to my device to get correct download mode.
the problem which happen's to me is this.
my device was on KITKAT when i try to update my device to lollypop using lg support tool (auto update using lg support tool to latest android version) after that i got no imei, no baseband and bad touch screen than i flash kdz file but same happend no imei,no baseband and badtouch.than i try to flash using TOT method and i wipe out everything.so know i try pin's touching method on which i get qhsusb mode and i am able to flash different img files.but i don't know which version of files i use..do you know than please help me specify the correct version that i flash and get download , recovery all at the same time than i will flash 10d or 10o ROM using TOT method.
but first i need to fix download mode (i don't know which img files i use).

Try laf.img,boot.img of D802 if you used D802 as the model to update to lolipop.this will fix download mode.

The other solution is you have to edit the hex of D800 TOT file, which I could never succeed at.
