So long story short I screwed my phone up and had to use LG Flash Tool to make it work again. The weird thing is, when I tried to flash a D803 .TOT file the LG Flash Tool said "wrong phone model" or something along those lines. It then said "D801" was my phone model. I searched and searched and SEARCHED for Bell D801 and could only find people saying it's D803. Well, I said screw it and downloaded TMobile's D801 .TOT and flashed it. The phone works now but it has a TMobile boot animation. It still connects to Bell fine, but here's the main issue;
Part of my touchscreen doesn't work anymore and I'm still under warranty if I can just get the phone back to stock to have it sent in. How can I do this? Any help? Also, does flashing with the LG Flash Tool make it so LG can't see I ever rooted the phone?
Thanks!
Maybe its a wind phone? I believe those are d801s because I have a bell one and that is D803

So are you saying there is no TOT? I cant get the kdz method to work... so i need a tot.
Ok so I typed my IMEI into some site and it said my phone is indeed a D803! However, because I flashed a TMobile .TOT to the phone, my phone thinks it's a D801. Oh god... How do I fix this now?
BUMP!
Hmm I'm not sure how you can go back but if you are within warranty you can try wrecking the system (so it doesn't work) and send it in for repair... They will reinstall a new version
Maybe your bootloader or whut was d801?? Idk but can you try to flash this kdz http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Canada+D803/
Then the one from bell? I hope its gonna be alright if you can flash it. Note that if you screw up with flashing then try not to wreck your system but try to repair it you itself since a system wreckage doesn't come fromself and lg doesnt need to pay the price to fix it. Even under warranty. I know lg screws up stuff but flashing is at own risk.
Edit: I sawmyour other thread so nvm.
Alright so I redownloaded LG Flash Tool and everything and I put my phone in download mode. It starts updating my firmware, it gets to 49% and then fails and says "TYPE_WPARAM_UPGRADE_ERROR" in the log. What does this mean and how do I fix it? I think when I flashed the TMobile .TOT it made my Bell phone think it is TMobile and maybe that's why I'm getting this error. How do I fix my phone and make it realize it's D803?

Change your windows language and locals like unicode to english if it wasn't
Turn off or allow the app through your antivirus.
Reinstall LG USB Driver, LG Flash Tool etc
Change the LG device in Device manager to COM port 41 or COM port 4 before connecting to PC.
See or your KDz weights around 2gb and not less then it cause that would be maybe a sign of an corrupted KDZ.
The last thing what i also think is that the Lg flash tool maybe reads the D801 in the build.prop or what and as safety measure it cuts off the flashing progress so you might change the D801 to D803 or however it was called in Bell.
Hope that one of these things could solve your problem.

Thanks for the info, but how do I change the build prop? I tried the adb usb thing and I get "device closed"
Woohoo! I fixed the bi*ch! Sorry, I'm a little excited here... Anyway, I followed the instructions above and it worked. I think the above is well written and easy to understand except for one thing: How to change build number (if you're like me and flashed the wrong TOT).
It's simple. Make sure you have a rooted phone and download root explorer (black icon with a little android face). Next, follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948558
Make sure you change the model number before you try flashing the kdz only if you messed up with tot flashing like me. Otherwise, as mentioned above, make sure you're on COM41. This worked great. Now I can take my bell phone back to the store and have it seen to (I have a hardware issue with the screen no sensing touch in certain areas).

Great to hear that it worked yes about that build.prop editing i wasn't clear sorry for that but good that it worked now.
My friend bought a new LG G2 and wanted a custom rom. He tried to flash a custom recovery tool through fastboot but did not unlocked the bootloader. After this the phone booted up in recovery and showed a couple of error messages. He reflashed all of the partitions of the phone and restarted it, put the official firmware but to his surprise his touchscreen was a mess, everything he clicked on was offset by 50 to 200 pixels, and its all scrambled up. He tried flashing custom roms, official roms but is the same, even in TWRP the same problem with the LCD panel. Now the phone has SlimKat and I could activate the feedback of the touches, it's incredible, I can't understand it.
Can someone tell me where the driver for the touch is, or what to repair in order the have the screen control back. I have uploaded some images of the touches feedback.

Yep, he and I flashed I bunch of times the official rom but nothing changed. I think it has something to do with the boot are aboot partition, there is where the kernel is booted up and there is our problem, but I need someone more good at the low level arhitecture to guide me through. I repeat the same problem hapens when you go in to recovery.

Question regarding model
Ok, I found something very weird, at this point I really dont know if the phone is a g2 D802 or D800. I've taken the back cover of the phone and found that on the back is a d800, the back cover of the phone states that is a d802, but when I check the imei using a website imei info it says its a d800. The D800 is for AT&T and the D802 is the international one, what is going on here...I am confused...
I smell something fishy as well. Perhaps the phone has been opened before and the rear cover was replaced. Make sure you are usuing the D800 firmware and modem baseband firmware.
Flash both of those and see what happens!
Hi All,
I've replied to a few different threads here trying to repair my G2 D802 after an LG update put on the wrong rom, which later I found out I had a possibly refurb from China. By this (for those that don't know) basically means that I had a different model....
My Symptons after the flash were it was only showing 10GB free, and the Touchscreen did not work properly (pressing one part of the screen would cause another part to click) so it was pretty useless. Thanks to @MariMur though, he advised to use a USB OTG cable to plug in a mouse which worked great to try a few things! He also pointed me to some other posts which helped loads too
So.. I decided to first open the back cover of my G2. Very easy to do, tried the pry tools initially but got no where, so used my nail in then end. Take out the SIM Card slot, then starting from the bottom of the slot, pry open the first clip by splitting it from there, once only clip is open, wedge your nail in and move it down. All the others will unclip and after about 1 minute, the back is off! To my (not so surprise at this stage) I had D800 written on the top right of the phone, and the Antenna at the bottom said D801/D803. Importantly though the touch ribbon cable on the right said D800 so that explains how that's happened. Somehow, the people I bought this phone off managed to put on a D802 ROM with drivers for a D800.

With this in mind, I went about flashing a D800 ROM. I tried a few things like installing a D800 TWRP to start things off. This resulted in getting a fastboot black screen on start of the phone, and I lost download mode (it would flash the screen for download mode, but then go back to fastboot). Main thing for me was to get back into download mode to flash on stock again, so I tried various things but eventually did one simple thing.
1) Download the D802 laf file from here, and flash it from the pc (after installing adb and fastboot installer from XDA) with the following: -
Code:
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
then turn off the phone by holding down power, and download mode was restored. I then installed a stock D802 rom again.
Now... I actually found out I don't need to do the above at all! We need to follow the @SuperSport method partially by going here. Download the kitkat D800 Rom as that's what you need. Also use the LGUP_8974.dll in that post, rather than the normal one, but before you flash it, you need to modify the .TOT file. I didn't find the original post before as I trawled the net and found a FB post that did it, but found out @sepacek had already found the solution, so follow it here except replacing D800 with D802 at that one point (0006017 I think it was, but do a Edit->Find for D800). Save that, flash away and it worked perfectly. My LG came back to life, and even had restored my 32GB loveliness (although shows 24GB Free, so not sure if that's still correct).
My Main problem now is I still have the problem of a Lost IMEI number due to the bad original flash. I tried to use the tutorials to do it, also try to do it via EFS Pro, but I fall at the first hurdle really.... The phone COM port comes up, but the program keeps saying "No Phone" for some reason. Anyone know the solution to this?
Another thing I have noticed is that my Baseband is "unknown" for some reason, not sure if that's related to the IMEI issue or not, but I've definitely flashed the KK baseband from @Cloudyfa 's links on XDA.
I'll update this post once I find the solution
EDIT 1: I opened up my phone again and decided to look at the motherboard. I have discovered that the motherboard cover might say D800, but the motherboard has something on the top left (after removing the cover) that says it is a D801! So ... I've update JB D801 ROM, phone is massively unstable and reboots a lot. I tried KK D801 ROM and it's now stable, but stuck with the IMEI and Baseband being unknown, but I can't root it as no one knows how to yet. I'm pondering on going back to the D800 ROM and rooting the device again (as that worked lasttime) and try installing a different baseband/modem to see if that can wake things up. I did notice though that there is a tutorial to install D802 roms over D801 devices... I wonder if that's how my phone was in the first place!
EDIT 2: I have installed a D801 Stock ROM, rooted, installed Optimus G3 ROM and was able to see the baseband version pop up, however my IMEI number is still null. The IMEI number is there somewhere on the phone as LGFlashTool 1.8.1 still shows it when I go to flash a stock TOT file... so I'm still trying things. The guide on the web to restore the IMEI number via Qualcomm tools doesn't work (or EFS Pro) as when I add the port number, the phone appears as '(0)?' so I cannot pull the relevant NV data to update the IMEI....annoying as I'm so close now! I'm still trying though as I should be able to restore this data somehow...

Normally, when a IMEI is gone, it's gone for good - unless you made an EFS backup. You can't use the EFS backup of another phone. I feel very sorry for you, and I sincerely hope you're able to claim your money back from the seller for false advertising.

I will have to agree with this, the only way I've ever got my IMEI back was by restoring a Nanadroid backup (more importantly my EFS partition).

Cheers guys, I'm hoping I can still revive it as the IMEI can be picked up by LG Flash Tools v1.8.1 as it shows up in the window. I was tempted to go to eBay and state my case, but I've already emailed the UK seller and he said he got it from someone of gumtree which don't help... I'll decide in a few days though!

Remove your IMEI from here, never post that as stolen phone people will use it!
If you have a D802 ROM installed, you need to use ioroot to get root first, but then turn on ADB debugging and then backup your EFS before doing any more!
You can then restore the D800 ROM via the TOT method I have mentioned in my post. Download the D800 TOT file, use a hex editor inside it to change the model recognition in there to D802, and you'll be back in business with a proper ROM. and know what to recover!
Hello my friend! I come from a spanish forum where there's a specific thread for this problem you have, and let me tell you that, it hasn't been any type of resolution till the date, apparently is a very common problem when you buy a G2 from Aliexpress, this chinese retailer grabs a bunch of D800 version of the G2 and change treir IMEIs and back plate into the D802 version (don't ask how) obviously change the rom for another that match the new fake d802 imei, thats why at first glance there's no visible sign that in reality you have a d800 and when people update or change treir rom is when the problem come out to surface causing and irreversible damage to the cellphone although you have done an incredible advance, the pith is, the imei never was the original one so is almost impossible get it back.

Aliexpress... I wonder if they can provide the file that flashed this phone then. I might ask them as I would be happy going back to that to be honest. I do feel my phone is a D801 though from looking at the parts!
At the moment though, I suppose I can give this phone to some kids in my family to play games on

Question... any reason the EFS from another D801 32GB would not work? Or might that be because it will have someone elses IMEI on it?

As u said that you installed Optimus G3 rom.....but your condition is that your phone was D802 but the motherboard or internal parts shows it is D801....so what exactly you do. to intstall Optimus G3.......i.e which model number u select while installing that rom.....and at first which custom recovery(model no..D802 or D801) you installed.........becoz at this moment i`m pretty much confused how to install a custom rom like Cloudy G3 or something else.......i bought two Lg G2 phones yesterday without warranty in india from local dealer so pretty much sure that single step wolud lead to bricked device

Hi All,
I've replied to a few different threads here trying to repair my G2 D802 after an LG update put on the wrong rom, which later I found out I had a possibly refurb from China.

If you can still view your imei on anything on pc then it is more than likely still intact...the efs partition may have become slightly corrupt or something may have screwed up the format...do a little research on which partition efs is stored on and what format it gets mounted as when system boots...it seems to me it just isnt mounting properly as i had the same issue on my gs4 but there are apps specially made for samsung devices...im sure there is a fix for your issue...its finding it that may be an issue...my device was down for three months before i found a fix...dont give up!

I used the steps in my first post to get a stock ROM for D801 on, then used the normal KitKat rooting my phone (via TowelRoot) and installing TWRP (via AutoRec). Then I copied the ROM to a folder on my phone, booted to recovery (you have to turn off the power of the phone, then hold down Vol- and power when turning back on, soon as the LG logo pop ups, release the power and press it again and hold quickly (still holding vol+ all the time) to get into factory reset. Release all buttons when you see it loaded, then press power putton to perform the reset, but it will just load up TWRP to install your ROM).

I saw the Samsung ones and tools, but can't seem to find anything that will help unfortunately. I'm wondering about doing a FULL wipe of the phone and trying to flash on everything to see if that helps but not just yet. I'll open up my phone some more soon and remove the motherboard to make sure it is a D801!
I am also having the same problem.
1st got the message of lcd damaged: Hardware key control
As 4 5 6 on my dial pad not working.
So after reset twice I choose to Flash Europe open 32GB KDZ.
My phone IMEI is actually a D802 Thailand..
After flashing touch totally unresponsive,
Storage space 16GB, 10 GB showing free.
Baseband and IMEI null..
Opened the phone.. Sensor cable saying D800,

Right Side Golden cable D800/D801/D802/D803
Above Antenna D801/D803
Top Right Above motor Silver casing say D801.
So I flashed A hex edited D801 ToT as my previous software is D802
Phone start rebooting and Download mode stucks.
I total open my phone check the back side for Confirmation. Its D801 Board.
Remove battery connector. Shorting the two capitors I forced my phone in QHUSB 9006 mode.
Flashed 10 partitions, and got download mode again.
Flash tot with generic DLL.. Then reset.
Then tot flash with original DLL.
Reset.. Phone was heating and restarting..
Flash KDZ latest of D801.
Reset, Flash Again, Reset..

If few region of touch not working then open the bottom black part which is speaker and then check the connector connection...if loose then press and tighten them.
And please do these after turned off ur device.
There are many method to recover imei no.
So search on google.
If u cant recover.
Then you again need to force ur phone into 9008...
When u get 9008
Then msg me..
I will fix it..
Keep in mind.
Battery must be disconnected when shorting
2nd keep tot file extracted in mbn format.
And ask me before shorting..
May be i m not free.
So first ask for my free time.

Question... any reason the EFS from another D801 32GB would not work? Or might that be because it will have someone elses IMEI on it?

Did you purchase the refurbished LG G2 802 from Aliexpress? Seen the feed back for them and they're mostly terrible, refurbished = cobbled together from parts of all the models except the one you want, but the ones for the "new" ones seem good, but am very wary...

I got mine from eBay, but I suspect the phone is from AliExpress as it is a D801 from looking at the parts, but I can't get a phone signal to work on there anymore. Everything else is fine though

Mine is still not working
IMEI can be restored if u have the original IMEI at hand. Did it myself.
Hi, i recently bought an lg g2 which is actually an ls980 but sold as d802. I ended up flashing the wrong version of firmware. Earlier i couldn't boot into download mode, but i fixed it using the qhsusb_bulk method.
I've flashed 3 versions of the d802 firmware but none of them actually boot. So i decided to open the phone and see the actual model number of the phone. There was written ls980 on the back of the motherboard and on all the parts. So my question is that if i flash the ls980 firmware, will it super hard brick the phone? I see no other way to get the phone working other than to flash the ls980 f/w.
Some advice needed. A quick reply would be appreciated. Thanks!
Did you check the IMEI to see if the the phone is a D802 or 980?

Yeah i did check the imei on the internet. It says the phone is d802. I've also heard that this source is not completely reliable to determine a phone's model number. But the phone's motherboard says ls980. I'm thinking to trust what's written on the motherboard itself. Should i proceed with flashing an ls980 rom? Please guide me. Thanks!
Sounds to me like the motherboard is from a 980. Did you try using the LG upgrade tool (not LG flash tool) to perform a recovery? The program should provide the model #.

I didn't try using the upgrade tool but I'll try that tomorrow and give you an update. But any d802 fw i flash: jellybean, kk or lp, the phone just doesn't boot up (it gets stuck on the lg logo w flashing led). That is the reason why i believe that it's an ls980. Anyways, I'll try using the upgrade tool.

my phone's up and booting once again but I'm facing two problems now:
1) invalid sim error (I'm pretty sure it can be fixed without too much effort)
2) very low wifi range. The wifi icon shows only one stick even if kept only 30cm away from the hotspot (the hotspot IS working fine in the other phone). Any help with this?
Not sure what can be done about the invalid sim other than checking to see if the phone is network unlocked.
Have you checked for loose wires inside the phone? This may be causing the low wi-fi signal.

pretty sure that the wires are fitted properly. But there's no harm in double checking. Lemme see...
I have faced the same problem you are facing bit is solved. Please try and root your phone first. Your phone model is ls980. So flash it with pc with this rom "Ls980zve_03.51102.tot and lgls980_20130904_lgflashv151.dll to do a clean flash with lgflash tool.
After that if you want you can root it with stump.apk . and autorec.apk for twrp recovery.
To me Ndm 5.5 inspired Ux Lollipop G2(Allvariants).zip is the best rom.
