Hi there. So my phone has the Knock Code pattern set up and the touchscreen often thinks I press it when my phone is in my pockets, so many times I'm asked to enter the Backup PIN or the Google Mail account. And this weird thing happened and my virtual keyboard won't show up. Even after restarting the phone. The touchscreen seems to work but I can't access anything not even the top navigation bar. My internet is offline on the phone. The only numbers I can enter are those from the SIM card's PIN. What can I do?

Hello, let me start out by saying that i just recently received my touch dual here in las vegas. Its unbranded and i am running my t-mobile sim card in it. I can say it definatly is getting better reception than my previous tri-band phone which was a chinese iphone knockoff, however its not on par with a quad band. I love the touch flo interface too. I was playing around with the phone locks, and I set a simple pin under the phone lock settings with just letters, and now when the phone locks I can only enter a pin with numeric digits, no letters. Is there a way to reset the phone lock passcode without doing a hard reset? I really dont want to lose all my programs and info.
do you have the 16 or 20 key version? for my 20 key, simply slide open the keyboard and push 'alt' till XT9 shows up on the top screen (next to the data connection icon). then you can enter letters.
not sure how the 16 key version work. but should be similar. must be a way to toggle to letter input.
I have the 20 key version! Thanks very much, I wasnt aware that the alt key had that effect. Problem Solved
Hello
I have two little issues I can't find soultion to..
1. My device boots, htc logo appears and then keypad shows up to enter the SIM PIN...but it closes before I input so I have to manually turn off the airplane mode and then turn cellular on...
Is there a way to fix this?
2. The topright corner cross (or sometimes even the OK) should be white (if clickable) but sometimes it is grey..is this normal or I have something bad going on...it works, it is just annoying that sometimes it is gray sometimes white...
If someone knows how to fix these two please let me know...thank you very much...
if only these two issues was the only ones....
Concerning the pin code screen that disappear, instead of put your phone on plane mode, you can just click the call button : it will display the pin code screen again.
ow..thanks you..I will try that one..
and regarding the issues...luckilly I dont have many...
1. This seems to be TF3D - when the phone re-starts from reset it wants the SIM code. But, TF3D starts as well and then takes over the screen. Any use of the phone now will give the SIM code screen. So, the other advice is good: hit the call button. I normally just wait for TF3D to do it's start-up and I normally get automatically the SIM code input screen.
2. I use http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html as a replacement for the OK button. But before I never had the grey OK button. Try exploring the OK button options in start - system - task manager - button
thanks for your help....
ow and btw I hate touchflo
i have standart homescreen customized
If you don't need the security provided, why not turn off the SIM pin entry?
Hope someone could help me out.
I recently installed Swype. I'm not sure if that's what behind my problem, but now if I happen to reboot my phone, the default onscreen keyboard is always in "handwriting" mode, and I have to switch it back to Swype before I can type a single message. It's rather annoying.
Another thing that happened even without rebooting (only once so far) was that I couldn't unlock my phone with the onscreen slider. When I swiped my finger over it, I kept getting handwriting input (green lines) and not grabbing the slider. Had to pull the battery to reset. Since I'm on company e-mail (Exchange), my phone always locks, so this could be a problem.
My questions:
a) can this be related to Swype?
b) is there anything I can do to "set" the keyboard permanently to a particular state (I'd like to keep Swype)?
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
After i rooted and flashed a recovery on my note 3 realized that whenever i reboot or shut down and power on my phone after i unlock the sim (via pin) the phone gets at home screen but is like dead, meaning for about a minute or two i cant lock the screen with the power button, the home and settings buttons dont light up when i push them or do any noise or vibration, wifi remains off, power saving remains off until the phone makes a quick vibe after 2 minutes or so. That quick vibe was quicker before the root and recovery, it was instant after i unlocked the sim. Also after that problem i got a calling delay, after i try to call someone now and then i have to wait for a minute or so until the call starts. The screen stays at dial pad but doesnt do anything, i can dial numbers but no key noise no key vibration. I unrooted my phone, flashed the stock rom again etc but the problem remains. If anyone knows what to do please help me out
I've not done anything to the system at all (Root, flash etc, I'm on full stock) and mine does this too. I boot it up, and for a ful 2-3 minutes it simply remains on and I can't do anything to get it to turn off. I can long-press the power key to bring up the menu, but locking the screen is simply not happening at all. Irritating, but alas.
As for the delay in calling, it usually takes a while between the dialing out and the line to actualy establish, that's probably a network issue.

i don't think that its a network problem because it happens only to me and not always. It takes a while normally but in my case it stuck's on the dial pad not between dial and line. It doesn't even turn the screen off if i put it to my ear...
Have you tried to disable the SIM pin?
I never have a pin code on my SIM and never seen this problem.

Hi there ...
I've had my Moto X Style for about 6 weeks now & I totally love it ..
BUT, in the last 2 weeks, with no patterns showing, the screen will go black all of a sudden multiple times a day.?
While using an app, the onscreen buttons are there, haptic works on the buttons, black screen, but I have no more app access.?
I can press & hold the power button & shutdown fine. I even cleared the cache' of all my apps using an app, made no difference.?
I'm running out of idea's.?
Falling short of doing a factory reset, does anyone know how to fix this.?
The phone worked perfect for 4 weeks with ALL my apps installed back then,
so I don't know why it's going funny now.? Getting very annoying now, please help!?
On a specific app, or any app?
That's just it, I don't know, coz its random! - But I do take note, but nothing seems to follow any pattern as such.!?
Sent from my Moto X Style!
I have seen this after the phone has been unlocked by trusted device connection with BT and carkit. After disconnect and then trying to unlock the phone with pattern only the on screen buttons are there and no pattern.
Sometimes I tried twisting the phone so it goes in to camera and then swiping to view already taken images. This should give the lock pattern but I also get the black screen with only the buttons. After some retries I get a crash from Nova launcher (message is something like Nova launcher did not respond) after clicking the ok button the unlock pattern is back and I can unlock the phone. Other times this doesn't work, not within the amount of retry's I did, and I have to reboot the phone
Note: When you use the phone right after disconnect, before it's locked again you can use apps, sometimes only active apps, sometimes even start new ones. But after a while it will lock. Probably because it lost connection with the trusted device. After that same problem, can't unlock it again
I Had the same issue after I installed the Microsoft's AppComparison app (I don't know why I installed that app). But a factory reset solve the problem.
