Antutu bench with/without laggy android 6.0 - X 2014 General

Hi !
As you may know some of us find our 6.0 stock rom for xt1092 especially laggy, that's why i did a benchmark. I found that the GPU score was quite low ( which would explain the lags)
but i couldn't find online moto x2 bench on v6 antutu to compare, so it would be great if you could post yours here =). (on 6.0 ROM or others)
And here is a screenshot of my bench

This is mine

Something is up with the graphic driver on marshmallow since its scoring much less as compared to lollipop.
Heres comparing with vivo x5 pro (adreno 405) and nexus 6

I can't add photo. My app doesn't do it. But my score is even worse - 52500

Can someone on 5.1 put in a screenshot?

I think I found a source of lags. I guess in my case it is Nova launcher. In stock launcher everything works much faster.

heres mine

Here it is on 5.1 (XT1095 US Pure Edition)...fresh installed yesterday. Looks about the same as the 6.0 results to me.

In developer options turn on "Disable HW overlays". It fixes lags and stutter

Thanks man this solves it!! Its back to normal again all the lag is gone.
Others try it too!!

Here is mine and it is better than in Lollipop!

Note: I can not post the link shortcut

is it a kernel? i belive was a custom rom..

Greeting to all of you for creating a wonderful community!!

Hi guys,
I been a silent follower to this forum and respect all the great works done by all the devs, mods & members. I am certainly new to this forum but not in forum world.
I must say i am new to Android phones but not to Androids as i have few tablets for last few years. Its been fun flashing, rooting & using multiple custom roms in my Tegra2 Tablet and so Android does fascinate me like you guys.
Apart from my Iphone recently i got another phone, it's Dell XCD35 / ZTE Blade Gen2. I know ZTE Blade has a great community with tons of customized roms.
Being new to this forum i guess it is taking some time for me read so many thread and try understand different roms available.
Can anyone suggest me any rom where i can get stable performance, good battery life, fluid animation, overclocking & other features.
I am aware of Apha ICS rom and being not so stable & many apps doesn't work smoothly its not my choice right now.
Appreciated for all comments & your valuable time.
I would go for the LG Mode ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442517
It's got pretty good performance, nice animations, and on top of that; it looks wonderful!
Overclocking is possible, and with my Blade running at 729 Mhz and the governor set to "Lag-free", it's even smoother to run. Would definitely recommend that ROM. It's also got a built-in root explorer, and a smooth theme changer app, and a seriously good battery life!

Thanks amelo007 for the suggestion mate and will defiantly look for it. First impression: the rom looks very neat.
Any more suggestion guys?
The LEWA OS is a pretty sweet ROM as well. It's got a cool different interface in the phone settings, and not to mention the homescreen and app-drawer.
The only thing that I find to be a bit silly, is the fact that this ROM is actually Chinese, so there are a few translation mistakes, but other than that, it's damn sweet.
It's kinda quick too! It also has the ability to overclock:

i use cm 7.1 n257 for daily use and its awesome and performance wise the best.
use it if u play games and need performance.
lewa os is good and is updated every friday via ota updates but only has 2 languages with some errors in english translation.
if u want to try ics try alpha 5 fix 2 almost evrything is working and its damn good (its my second rom)
u can even try fish and chips its a light and very fast rom if u want a light rom with very smooth scrolling

Cyanogenmod 9 v6.0 vs stock ICS 4.0.4 (basic differences?)

Hi everybody! I have some "newbie" questions about CyanogenMod 9...
1. Is it really faster compared to stock ICS? I haven't overclocked the processor and my main problem with ICS, is that the default launcher has a little stuttering some times and it's not absolutely smooth. In CyanogenMod9, the "Trebuchet" launcher is almost at the same level in terms of "movement flow".
I had Nova launcher previously and I'm thinking of installing it again on CyanogenMod 9...will this be a right move?
2. What else is better than the stock ICS there? Ι already use that marvelous power widget inside the notification bar, but, except some similar workflow tweaks, I can't see anything else...any feature list compared to the stock ICS 4.0.4?
3. Why the torch toggle-in-notification is disabled in settings? (the pre-installed torch seem to work perfectly)
4. Screen brightness gets increased when there is a lot of light around, but It doesn't decrease its brightness when I go in a dark room again...Am I doing something wrong? (I haven't touched those sensor filters etc...)
Can you please help me? I'm not a developer and I'm mostly concerned about a smooth and fast experience.
1. Make a nandroid and try it out yourself.
There is no right move. Do whatever it is you want. Your phone won't explode if you install the "wrong" launcher.
2. Take a look at the popular roms in the dev section and repeat #1. Or look at bedalus's benchmarks if you're really that apprehensive.
3. probably hasn't had the bugs worked out.
4. again, maybe a bug. After you flash a couple of roms I'm sure you'll see that you can get #3 and #4 working.
More doing and less thinking. As I said, you have a nandroid to fall back on.

1. If you read carefully my post (sorry for my bad English), you will understand that I already have tried CM9 v6.0 and that was the reason I wanted to know more, because I don't see any performance improvement over stock ICS 4.0.4 on my Nexus S. Am I wrong? There must be some objective reasons except my judgement.
2. I was talking specifically about CM9 features.
3. I figured that with the torch...it's probably not ready yet. I can't find any post about the brightness though (there are so many options there which I don't fully understand and brightness never works as it should).
4. I don't want to flash other roms...I have already flashed Wildestpixel's roms and I didn't see an obvious performance difference too...
For trebuchet if you check (or unchecked I forget) the join with apps setting it makes the launcher just as smooth as gingerbread
Well, I switched from Bugless Beast today to latest CM9 nightly (15.4, not the KalimochoAz version posted on here).
Haven't tried CM9 for a while and it surprised me, speed wise and stuff integrated in it. I'm a fan of stockish ROM's, that's why I used BB since ICS came out. What made me stay is:
- integration of BLN & Voodoo sound, meaning I don't need to run those 2 apps in BG (saves memory ofcourse, I'm a sucker for optimization)
- BigMem is quite noticeable, also RAM free right after clean flash is about 200MB (vs 140MB on AOKP, which is the ****tiest, meaning when I use the apps I have in BG, there was constant launcher restart - low on RAM)
- seems like internal storage speed is faster, I noticed level loading on Where's my water game is perhaps the same as on GB (was waay slower when ICS came out)
- nice UI optional goodies in the ROM but still without AOKP "lets **** everything in" bloat (battery %, power key camera shutter, custom autobrightness levels, T9 dialer). Wanted those on BB, where they were out of question, since BB is more stockish.
- no weird governors, OC or voltages, just ondemand/cfq as on stock, don't use deep idle
So for me, it's a good sweet spot between stock and custom ROM.*
*Disclaimer:
I've used BB for months & AOKP for 2 weeks, both on SimpleKernel, which is basically stock with added BLN&Voodoo. I don't fiddle around with OC/Governors. Those are my observations and I don't intend to debate "why you didn't use "xxkernal v.9302".

Today, I'm trying out the 1200 OC, works completely stable so far, playing with the phone over half an hour now. 1400 rebooted after couple minutes. Try it out !
About brightness decrease, you need to enable it in extra auto-brightness settings at the bottom.

Thanks for the tip! Do you know what actually happens when "system update" detects an update? What is it actually after? An official post 4.0.4 update or a CyanogenMod update? Also, what happens in each situation? Can it be updated OTA?

Great Nexus s ICS Combo

Hey Guys. Thought i would share a really good combo that ive found for my nexus s , it is really smooth..

Installed chainfire 3D and that really improved the ui speed.
If anyone else has found a really good combo please share

Dude thats pretty tops battery life . Can you post a link for that rom?
I'm thinking of rooting soon. Just been using stock so far.
Stock seems nippy but sometime I get a blank screen and lag when going back to home from apps such as Chrome beta.
Do stock roms and kernals make a big difference performance wise?
Also, I would like a rom where everything works with no problems.
Any suggestions?

The lag is due to the launcher going out of memory. Our nexus has only 512 MB ram. Flash a kernel with Bigmem mod and it would be gone.
I feel they do make a difference but stock is naturally the most stable rom.
For a stable rom try:
Stable versions of CM9
Milestone releases of AOKP
Bugless beast for a close to stock experience,

My ns4g was laggy before.
I'm running stock rom with matrix kernel and apex launcher. Couldn't be happier and my phone is lag free and 10x snappier running @1485mhz
Stock ICS was very laggy for me even with different kernels, OC, and launchers.
When I switched to custom roms (CyberGR and now CM9 nightly) that lag completely disappeared even without OC.
I've been on CM9 a week now and it's worked pretty much flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

performance v50018 vs 20a

I installed the new official rom v50020a and are disappointed with performance especially in games. That performance was superior v18a. This rom seemed to me the most powerful than all roms, since the battery is emptied very quickly, especially in stand by. In AnTuTu benchmark 18a give almost 27,000 and v20a less than 24,000. In Real Racing 3 feel the difference. V50020a is final rom for OTA? Performance and battery worse than the first official rom. I think I'll go back to 4.2.2.

The problem is that the rom v18 of battery empties very quickly in standby. I have to install a custom rom based on v18 with another kernel.

What do you call 'very quickly'? I found it emptied slower than with 4.2.2 in standby with WiFi on.
I set the wi-fi to be turned off when the tablet is in stand by. It is among the settings after installing a new rom.

The battery life is actually better,by nearly 2 hours. I have tested and ran it for 5 days, it's all about your settings. If you have the screen on 50% one day or 65% another day it's always going to fluctuate.
Theres no complaints about the battery life with 18 here, easily I get 2 hours more. Some days 4.

The fix for Watching Amazon Prime is in a thread by, i believe it was Surviveland....
Make sure that you have UNinstalled the flash player installed in your device if you have one installed first and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
1) Download Dolphin Browser from the Play Store
[/B]You MUST have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it.
As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE: http://goo.gl/MuU9SU
If your device refused to install apk outside Google Play, you need to change your settings in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.

Where are you lagging? You could try bootng into safe mode to see if it's an app causing it, or backup and flash the stock rom and see.

its not a lag in specific app, the ui does stutter from time to time, recent apps does lag a bit, notifications panel lags too

not true.. the notification panel has no lag whatsoever.. and the recent apps doesn't have lag, it just has low fps. it is supposed to be that way.
stock is butter smooth and 0 issues. I advice to flash the russian firmware. because others may lack some small features.

Recent apps is definitely laggy - there's no way it's supposed to be like that - my friend's moto g 2013 is butter-smooth and there's no crappy font rendering on the titles - the s4 lollipop isn't quite as optimised I giess
