Task Manager (Background Apps) - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've noticed since upgrading that when I bring up my task manager to show my background apps I have to touch the app I want to go to 2 times instead of 1 time like I did previously. Is anyone else having this issue?

A single touch is required for me on MM as it was on LP.

I played with it some more and seems the sensitivity is not as good after the update. I have to press a bit harder to get it to work the upgrade.

Is there an app that can close selected apps when they are not being used, one thing I don't like is apps running in the background the having to go to the app just to close it with magic button or the right hard key.
on the treo apps close as soon as they are not on the screen.
thank you

whats wrong with magic button? it closes apps rarather minimise when you press top right button and you can close all runnings apps with ease. what else do you want it do do?
that said, i am actually looking for an alternative myself. although i love it, i do find that it tends to crash out pretty often. i am constantly restarting it. anyone else finding this?
i find that magic button will work fine until... you show the phone screen. it can't seem to close it correctly. it flicks it on an off several times and generally goes bonkers.
For a very minimal look, try VJOkButt.

Close, not minimize?

Whats a good program that will cause programs to actually close out in WM6 instead of just minimizing. Maybe one that adds a - next to the x so if you do want to minimize you can.
SPB pocket plus and Quick Menu are both good progs for the purpose.
Have you tried the HTC Task Manager with the X button feature?
The new ROM w/ GPS works by holding on the X, if you set it that way
2x SPB pocket plus! Works great. Never have to think or worry about what's running in the background.
I've been using HandySwitcher by DinarSoft for quite some time. It's nice because it adds an icon to the taskbar at the top and allows you to see all programs that are currently running, and close them individually or all at once. The only thing I find is that even though it has a menu option to launch at start-up e.g. after a reboot, it seldom actually did! A small but annoying issue.
I'm actually trying the HTC Task Manager as mentioned above as it is in the DCD rom. It's okay and does what you'll need, but not as configurable or flexible as HandySwitcher. I'm trying it just because it's there and I was bored It replaces the default X in the corner and allows you to either hit the X or hold it for a short time instead to close the active program. The only way to see what else is open is to return to the Today screen and tap the same icon.

Have you tried resetting your device?
Go to start>settings>sytem>task manager and in the settings, se "x" to close down a program.

Viewing Original Android UI on the Hero

It's been a long time since I last posted but here you go I'm back on a HTC device.
Discovered by a friend at work who thought it was just normal.
After install Task Manager 1.7 from the Android Market and starting it up for the first time if you now press the Home button you get a menu asking the following.
Complete action using
Home
TouchFLO
If you choose Home it takes you to the original Android theme like the G1 and has 3 home screens that are available to use that are completely seperate from the ones you set up using TouchFLO.
I have since unistalled Task Manager and the option is still showing, to get rid of it I can just check the option:
Use by default for this action and set it to TouchFLO
Just thought it was an interesting querk
Talked about already on this thread..

Thanks johnboy I had not seen that thread. Also this didn't work for me until I installed task manager were as on the other thread people seemed to be saying it worked like that straight out of the box.
I`m not sure when mine started doing it, but like you i have task manager installed. I hope someone can shed some light on it as its getting annoying having to select one everytime as mine doesnt remember the setting i tick.
I could get the option to appear when I double clicked the home button. I think it's supposed to be a 'feature'
lol! Thats old. since Hero port came out for G1.
The official way to do it is to go to manage application and clear defaults on touchflo.

[Q] Task Switcher Lag

Even though I find the Note 4 much snappier than the Note 3, there is one huge exception - the task switcher!
Every time I press the task switcher button I have to wait a (loooong) second before the screen shows up - it actually looks like there is defined delay and that it isn't actually processing or preparing the screen.
Is there a way to decrease this delay? If not, is there a way to replace the Task switcher?
Couldn't find any other reports of slowness in the Task Switcher so I actually wonder if its specific to by mobile (n910f)
I get that too the first time I press it after a while of inactivity. Each press afterwards causes it to come up quickly. N910U
Sent from my SM-N910U
guess im lucky mine opens faster then a blink of an eye....

Same thing happens to me, very annoying, if anyone knows how to fix... please....
I use Nova, do you use nova?
Same lag here. Oh well I am sure a software update will fix it.

Solution for delay in app launching

Hi, we all know that one plus two is terrible in starting/opening apps, there is an annoying delay after the tap and the app launch. Such big is the delay that my good old Xperia M launches apps faster.
Well guess what, the problem is due to stock : OnePlus Laucher, change the launcher to any other, such as Nova and apps would launch the moment you tap on them.
note: Shelf will no longer be available on left screen , it's of no good use anyway. Still you can launch shelf by assigning a button shortcut (Under buttons settings).
Do hit thanks, if this helped
