guide from stock 4.4.4 to GPE 5.0.1 ?

Guys i was looking for some installation guide but im not sure, if i found the right one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-roms-t2852310
I have stock 4.4.4 (firmware GNJ8). Is there someone who will not be ofended by noob question and show me some right guide how to flash this GPE rom ? I mean what do i need ? Root (which one?), recovery (which TWRP or CWM (throw CMW manager?)) and something else ? We do not use any knox features in our work, so that should not be a problem.

GNJ8..what s4 version is that?
I used CF-Auto-Root to root my s4. But this method does not work on all s4 versions so make sure you read carefully. The third post says on what model of the s4 it works. The thread can be found here.
I use TWRP. CWM just wouldn't flash on my device. Or, if it flashed, it didn't boot into CWM recovery. Kept booting into stock recovery. So I tried flashing TWRP and this one worked so I stick with it.
Make sure that it's the latest firmware for your device. And note that if you're on lollipop, you can't downgrade to kitkat anymore. So you will be stuck on the limited selection of lollipop roms for now.

CF Auto Root is good idea.
"Make sure that it's the latest firmware for your device." means what exactly ? I have the latest 4.4.4 official stock firmware...

You realize that going from stock to GPE will trip knox, right? Any custom rom or bootloader will trip the knox flag

1. Flash TWRP or Philz recovery true Odin.
2. Wipe data (prepare for new rom) in the recovery.
3. Flash the rom you want with the recovery.
It's as simple as that. You don't need root to do it.

Yep, i know about knox. I dont think i need it.
TWRP which version ? Wipe data/cache (no format /system or similar?) and flash custom rom ? not hard. In fact it sounds so easy that i cant believe What about some post about firmware that with some firmwares you have to do that and sometimes this...

Format system/data wipe of course before flashing a new rom. Pick the version for your phone from TWRP.
Ignore those posts about firmwares.

To flash a flashable .zip file you need a Custom Recovery like TWRP. So,
1. Root your phone with IORoot25. - This will give you root.
2. Download and run AutoRec on your phone. - This will downgrade your bootloader to JB and install TWRP.
3. Boot into Recovery Mode (TWRP) and flash your modem.zip. - This will give you a new modem.
Remember to back up your modem before flashing a new one.

Stock ROM Backup

Hi,
I have rooted and installed TWRP on my 910F Note4 as I was fed up waiting on the lollipop update rolling out. I am currently on 4.4.4 and have made a full backup using TWRP of the stock rom.
My intention was flashing the Cyanogen ROM and using that, but i now see on sammobile there is a stock 5.01 rom available. I have a few questions about this.
1. If I flash to Cyanogen can I still revert back to the stock rom 4.4.4 I have made a backup with? I read somewhere there might be problems as I was on KitKat then moved to lollipop(Cyanogen).
2. Can I flash the stock lollipop rom from within TWRP? Or do you have to do this via ODIN?
3. If I flash the Lollipop stock ROM with Odin I assume I will lose root and TWRP? So this would have to done again?
Guess I am asking what is the best way to proceed?

hi Paul,
1. i beleve to flash CM from kitkat you will need to install the lollipop bootloader first.
2. You have to flash the stock rom via Odin, you will keep all apps settings and files but you will lose root (you u can re root in 3 minutes)
Best thing you could do is flash the stock rom first with odin, see how that feels (IMO its good been using it for months now) and then root it and back it up and flash CM12 (you dont have to flash any boatloader at this point)

Ok tried to flash Stock O2 UK lollipop ROM via ODIN and got error message on screen. MD5 too big or something. Had to pull battery on phone. Had to then reflash TWRP. Got back into TWRP and tried to do a recovery of the backup I took but phone is stuck at Galaxy note 4 screen. It then shuts down and restarts and gets to the same screen again.
Do I try a different ROM? What can I do?

I got it working by flashing the German non branded ROM... Got the error message again but then used a "All samsung recovery.tar" as stated on another post in here and it booted fine eventually... Now on Lollipop. Now time to flash with TWRP.... Again!!!

I need help, urgently !
My Note 4 SM-N910C does not work. I can enter the Recovery and the Download Mode. When attempting to install a Custom ROM gives me an error that says I have no data. In the internal memory I have 0mb.
I tried using odin, but I can not .. Salta error.
Someone who can make a backup of your phone (which is factory), leave me a link to download it? So I install the TWRP. Please.

can u guyz tell me step by step from root to Flashing ROM?
ive tried before but stuck on bootloop and nothing.

What rom ???
You really should learn the basics before flashing and bricking your phone .
Back up EFS folder first with EFS Pro .
Root rom.
Install CWM/ TRWP recovery.
Download custom rom place on ext sd card .
Boot to recovery factory restore wiping data .
From recovery install zip and locate your custom rom Install wait reboot wait .

i planning to get ROM 4.4.2 like HAWKISH ELITE/OMEGA ROM.
wat is diff between CWM and TRWP bro?
i installed CWM only, not for TRWP.
before i installed ROM from recovery, i did all wipe, not only wipe the data, dalvik also and another 1 i forgot. total of 3 wipes.
can u give me link for root, CWM/TWRP that compatible to my Device pls?

What JJ is saying is that you need to know more before doing any of this. You want to upgrade and that's fine, but if you first get root then try to upgrade the chances are you're going to have problems. Better to upgrade first to the stock version you want and THEN do Custom Recovery, Root and flash the ROM you want.
BUT... and it is a big but... this is XDA Developers forum. You are asking questions that show not much understanding of what you are trying to do. So put aside your upgrade for now and go read and learn what you need to know.
If your phone is currently NOT working, then ask that instead. Tell us Model (which you did) What you tried and what the screen says. Once your phone is back working THEN go read and learn and ask when you have problems.
There is Search at top of page - use it to search 'How to root' and read the posts. Some are people also asking your questions and there are answers there. Some are tutorial threads where you can learn how to do what you are asking.
Good luck - it's a journey but a good one to walk along.

how to flash rom in ms103g?

I have grand 2. Stock rom 4.3 jelly bean. Rooted using kingroot apk.
And my device is ms103g. I repeat ms103g.
It has only one cwm recovery beta version.
I flashed it via odin.
After flashing a custom rom NOTE 4 ALPHA S6 PORT or ROM KK TECHMATE S ROM V1.0 4.4.2 NH3. It was flashed but when I reboot it stucks on boot logo.
After this I was switched off my mobile and rebooted to recovery. In mount s
ection system and data are not mounted. I was remount it and reboot but nothing happened please help me how to flash custom rom. Or is there any other recovery. Thanks in advance. Sorry for my bad English.

I was also did. But blank recovery open and phone reboot.
My device is ms103g and there is all recovery for ms013g.
In terminal emualter app it shows [email protected] I m very confused.
