I installed GSam Root Companion with systemless root, but now I'm on standard root and want to uninstall. I'm able to hit the uninstall button inside the app and it does its thing and prompts to reboot, but the app stays installed. When I open the app it says the root feature is still installed. How can I uninstall the root companion app?
I'm experience this today too...
can be uninstall using Device Control [root] https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.namelessrom.devicecontrol&hl=en
uninstall using Device Control [root], and then reboot.
You can uninstall it using Titanium Backup.
Go to Settings - Apps and use the "uninstall for all users" option. That did it for me.

hey there,
I rooted my Nexus7 (2012) using WugFresh's Toolkit (it worked, I have root access).
Now I wanted to delete/deactivate some of the stuff I don't want/need like for example the hangouts app using the app "Root App Delete". I can choose to deactivate the app, but afterwards it still works/opens up.
So how do I actually deactivate this stuff?
thanks so much

I personally use Clean Master - Free Optimizer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard). It completely Uninstalls the system apps and not just deactivates them.
I use root uninstaller it will freeze, backup or uninstall apps. So you could backup hangouts (if you were ever going to want it again) and uninstall it or just freeze it to stop it working sometimes you have to uninstall it twice as the first uninstall only removes the updates

TL;DR Google Play has only the Open option and no way to uninstall app
After updating my I337M from rooted NI2 Kit Kat to rooted OC4 Lollipop, I was unable to properly run Wakelock Detector. It was stock to stock so I didn't wipe factory settings.
Googled a suggestion to move the APK to /system/priv-app so I did that but still the same result.
Now when I want to try uninstall (so as to re-install) there is no option. Under Manage Apps the app isn't even listed. The APK is still under priv-app and I deleted it... still shows up in app drawer.
D'Oh! What else can I do to uninstall it properly?

i have the same problem
so ticked off. same here. even paid for the full version because sometimes that fixes issues like this. I can disable or freeze with titanium backup pro but can't uninstall. i think the problems happened after converting to system app. so now I have 2 frozen apps I want off my phone. On top of that the app stopped working after converting to system app. I get an error after the app loads. I emailed the developer and am waiting to hear back.
This days the application App2SD is able correct install Wakelock Detector as private , and it is able to uninstall it if it was installed as private .
Basically i let the app "disable all bloatware" and went along everyday life for a few months
Fast forward to now, i installed and want to use an app that requires root access. But it fails. i investiage and see that SuperSU is disabled in the Package app, i try to enable it but everytime i enable SUperSU( or any app) in Package disabler, it re-enables itself a few seconds later.
I have tried;
1) To click "Enable all Disabled" but it then freezes my phone.
2)Uninstall Package disabler app, but all things disabled are still disabled ever after the uninstall.
3)Using an older version(fails to get authentication)
4)Re-installing SuperSU via Playstore uninstall/install (now visible to click on but says it "root undetected"
After doing step 4, i can see that there is no tick to say it is disabled in package disabler anymore but i still cant grant anything root access like titanium
If Xposed (and any module associated to xposed)still works then i assume i am rooted and something else is at play here?
Any Ideas on whats going on or on how to fix?
So, uninstall PDP and use Titanium Backup.
Same thing but for root so you can actually uninstall anything you want as well as freeze it.

Even Titanium is saying root access failed.
Im guessing something in PDP is blocking the root access grant message, even after uninstalling pdp, i still get root access errors.
Except for Xposed as that and Snappreffs(module) still works.

open supersu and change ("I forgot which 1") something about overlay and it should pop up asking for root access from apps again.

A window pops up only leaving me 1 option of "How to Root" and i cant do anything else.
Is it possible to lose root but still be able to have access/use to Xposed/Xposed modules?
Also if i uninstall PDP. Apps that are blocked by PDP, are still blocked
Stumbled across this stupid easy way jacking around with my new fire HD 10. I did not use one that had lock screen adds.
Install Google apks, launcher of choice, and a root system app uninstaller.
Install Kingoroot on PC and run it.
Uncheck install recommended app on kingo.
Play protect blocks the kingo SU app from installing. Root still works
You have temporary root until reboot. Any root app automatically gets Permission.
With the root uninstaller, get rid of or freeze DeviceSoftwareOTA , ForcedOTA and the firelauncher apks I got rid of a few others I didn't need. Be careful..
Open the New launcher once
Reboot.
No Amazon launcher.
I may have replied something dumb. Nice find however.
I recently realized that since October, I can't uninstall my system apps such Calendar, Calculator, FM Radio, etc.
I used EU & MIUI Kosmos ROM and both gave the same result. I usually freeze them on Titanum Backup, then Uninstalled them, then reboot my phone. But after rebooted, the apps kept going back. I tried to uninstalled them with another apps such Root uninstaller, Root app deleter, successfully uninstalled, but when I tried to rebooted the phone it was boot-looped.
So, now I can only disable them through the Titanium Backup. I rooted my phone with Magisk, and I checked the two advanced option in Magisk Manager [Preserve Force Encryption & Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity.
Anyone knows why that happened? And how can I properly uninstall those system apps like usual?
Is the checked choices on the Magisk Manager be the cause?

Yesterday i flashed Hellas Miui and faced the same problem. I tried to debloat using debloater magisk module and it showed successful but after rebooting the apps were still there.
I googled a bit and found out that we need to disable all magisk modules before uninstalling system apps.
Then i successfully uninstalled mi video and weather using "System App Remover (Root Needed)" from playstore.
Try debloat via adb
There are several topics about that.

I had the same problems a month back. I used to uninstall apps using titanium but that doesn't work now and root uninstaller sends the phone to fastboot. The terminal solutions only disables them.
After a lot of research I found a solution.
1. You must be rooted
2. Install any root browser (I used root explorer)
3. Go to
System/apps
System/ priv apps
System/ product / apps
System/ product/ priv apps
All the suckers are there, delete the ones bugging u (u should know what u r deleting, at ur own risk)
5. Reboot and voila :good:
